Comic books are cool, so is animé, as well as computer games. But today, of all days, don’t just be a little bit of a geek, go full geek. Embrace it and own it! Geekdom From the 1950s until the end of the 20th century, being considered a nerd was about as good as having the Black Plague. If you were a nerd, people thought you were a social pariah. And, you would have had sand kicked in your face or your glasses broken. But, since the turn of the millennium, its suddenly became cool to be a nerd or a geek. CHANGES It’s hard to pinpoint the exact moment when the public’s perception of the nerd, geeks, and the geeky nerd culture shifted. So yes, the geek culture is becoming part of mainstream society. But, when things changed, they changed in a big way. Comic-Con became the new Super Bowl. But it’s not just the giant conferences that have become the bee’s knees. Everything from gardening to home brewing, and even dressing well has become super cool. And this is just the tip of the nerd iceberg. GAMERS Tens of millions of adults today play video games compared to the 1990s, when it was something that only kids did. In nerd culture there is something for everyone. Also, Geeks and nerds are no longer dominated by boys and men. Today, girls and women are joining this community as well. IT’S A GLOBAL THING The new nerds and geeks are a bit more social as well. Now Geeks and Nerds have more access to people that are just like them. They have their own community where they socialize and meet other like-minded geeks. Geeks and nerds are now a global thing. ONCE IT’S POPULAR IT’S NO LONGER NERDY Super-hero movies have become so popular worldwide that it is no longer considered something just for nerds. New! Pen! Day!

I got the TSBI ECO in a medium nib! I also got the 1.1mm stub nib in white and it's on the way...

I've been look at this pen for almost two years. It was originally going to be my first big pen purchase but I didn't trust my gut to order online. I ended up with the Kaweco Sport, which I truly love. But anyway, these came out in a beautiful limited edition golden yellow this week and I snapped one up.

I have a few F nibs, a couple EF for only my planner, and a couple of M nibs. Unfortunately the stuff I write on most at work isn't great. I just retired a couple pens because they're breaking (a Stabilo beFab! and a Platinum Preppy). Hoping this and the stub nib (idk why but I don't have a broad nibbed pen yet? I'm planning on getting M and B Kaweco nibs for my Sports) are smooth enough for my work paper and are fun for writing letters and postcards. I absolutely don't need more pens but at this point I've accepted my love for collecting them.
