Here is the link to the application!!
So there’s this aftg artist *tucks hair behind ear* (it’s princepeachie)
And he’s put together THIS. It’s amazing. It’s thoughtful. It’s affirming and it’s open to You.
So on the tiny chance you haven’t heard about it yet, I want to direct your attention to the Foxhole Fund. There’s already artist introductions and maybe a sneak peek or two over on the instagram account, @/foxhole_fund!
I can answer surface level questions, but most would probably be better suited toward Peach honestly, I’m not too intimate with the details! I’m very honored and excited to be a part of this, it’s the best thing my work has ever been able to help with ☺️ Peach has been very clear that there’s still space open in the applications, and that you can apply no matter who you are! Don’t worry about taking resources for others - as of now, there is more than enough to go around.
Find the Fund’s linktree at linktr.ee/foxholefund (until I figure out why my tumblr won’t let me embed more links) including an Amazon wishlist and a ko-fi you can donate to to help further cover the costs of the project 💕

i dont post a lot of personal stuff on here but several months ago a bunch of aftg artists raised money to send trans fans gender affirming gear. i was lucky enough to get a top surgery pillow from the foxhole fund and two weeks ago was finally able to put it to use! so to @prince-peachie and all the artists involved--thank you! you have made my time as a lump on the couch that much more comfortable :)

Everyone here in Germany keeps asking me about what I'm looking forward to when I go back to the States and I don't quite have the heart to admit that I'm most looking forward to opening my AFTG fanart packages
(And seeing my dogs obvi, but that goes without saying)

This is not AFTG centric (though it DOES have a sneaky Neil AU cosplay featured in my wig slide) but so far my posts on my other more cosplay specific platforms haven’t been doing so hot 😭
I’m currently trying to save for top surgery, and I now have both a Gofundme as well as wig styling, knitting, and embroidery commissions all open!
I’m most definitely up for creating some AFTG themed pieces for anyone interested! You can message me on here or on my Instagram, kayizcray, for more details.
Sharing this post, commissions, or donations are all deeply appreciated if you’re able 💕
Links to follow in a reblog — please reblog that version!!

for the foxhole fund, will we be notified if we get a product before it's sent?
@prince-peachie might know the answer to this 👀 (im assuming you mean a healthcare product, not the bundle or anything)

Demonizing people for praying in their desperation is fucking cruel and evil
For so many years I as a nonbeliever had to listen to ppl talk about how "there are no atheists in foxholes" and that hardships makes everyone religious (not always true), but now when a bunch of desperate people is, in fact, turning to religion to stay strong (like they told me again & again "everybody" does), they are demonized for it.
Somehow doing what "everybody does" is suddenly wrong when it's not a religion they approve of.
That's what's so evil about this propaganda & islamophobia, because otherwise seeing people praying and calling out to god would probably humanize them, especially to their fellow abrahamic monotheists in america. But with the idea planted in their head that "islam = 9/11", it does the opposite.
Especially giving ppl shit for referring to the war dead as 'martyrs' & reading evil intentions into that, or other sayings about finding strength through faith in god. Oh golly gee, why would people who are constantly suffering injustice find comfort and strength in a religion that says unjust deaths are compensated with special honor in the hereafter? Why could a grieving parent possibly like the idea that their unjustly killed child is now getting a hero's welcome in paradise?
I read an article about an arab college student getting in trouble simply for having Quran Quotes on their facebook.
Would you assume someone is a white supremacist because they post bible quotes? Would you assume a grieving parent doesn't really mind the death of their child because they are saying that their dead child is "with Jesus and the angels?"
Probably not. Heck, if you're religious yourself, you might even see it as a sign of being a good person!
Rightly or not, believers all of the world associate their religion with goodness, justice, community & family. So, why not assume that when muslims speak about their faith, they probably mean the same?
And don't come at me with some bullshit about "they would kill you", as if the worst muslims were representative of all. If we judged Christians by the worst Christians, they wouldn't come away any better. (case in point: The Christians funding the war.)
Suffering ppl don't have to make their grief & their coping with that grief palatable to foreign onlookers.

thoughts on twilight
this has been fermenting in my inbox because i saw it and immediately got into a spirited debate with my best friend over the correct ranking of the twilight films (my answer is: twilight/breaking dawn pt 2/new moon/breaking dawn pt. 1/eclipse. my best friend was trying to argue that new moon is the worst but the soundtrack fucks so supremely it saves it from the slush pile). anyway. being a twilight girl (gn) from approx. grades 5-8 was the great equalizer. it crossed boundaries. you found your most unlikely comrades in the foxholes of the twilight trenches discussing how breaking dawn would end in between subjects. it was like what i imagine model un is like. there were at least two other people in my class aside from myself who got alice's haircut (which i do think is genuinely quite cute but the thing is we were all pudgy-faced 6th graders so it was not the most flattering of haircuts. whoever is responsible for alice's hair in bdpt1 i will hunt you for sport). i would sit on my kitchen floor rereading those damn books like i was possessed and i think eclipse was my favourite but don't quote me. the only two movies i saw in theatres were the og and new moon and the memory of rolling my eyes whenever jacob took his shirt off is burned into my psyche. i continued to be repressed for more than a decade after that but to be fair i was also 12 and catholic. the first movie is a Good Movie both in that there are some solid technical elements and in that it's so funny i'm sorry. in uni my roommates and i watched all the films back to back for the first time and we were so emotionally strung out by the absolute roller coaster of emotions we experienced over the course of 10 hours that we all genuinely started sobbing our goddamn eyes out during the final battle/vision and then cried again when literally every single character is given their due in the credits bc it's just really sweet :'). then my parents stopped by for a visit like half an hour later and we were like hello. we are all normal. also the composers on those films were absolutely STACKED??? carter burwell twilight/breaking dawn both parts alexandre desplat new moon goddamn HOWARD SHORE for ECLIPSE??? howard why did you score the WORST one??? the soundtracks ripped. they had no reason being as good as they were. the last two were shot by gdt collaborator guillermo navarro and it SHOWS they look FANTASTIC. by the last two everything genuinely was camp. i think engaging with twilight in the year 2022 is a bit different than engaging with...y'know bc smeyer isn't actively on twitter like i think all trans people should be forcibly detransitioned and then burned at the stake you guys wanna see how much i can hate minorities but then there is the whole vampirism makes you white & indigenous people are literally animals i'm gonna make billions off a racist misappropriation of your tribe while you get nothing thing. i mean it's a case of Use Your Brain While Critically Engaging With Media but if you've spend actual money on something twilight-related in the past like. three years. why? pirate that shit. at least donate the same amount to the quiluete higher ground fund sidenote did you know that quiluete is one of only a handful of languages that doesn't have nasal vowels? that's neat. billy burke charlie swan performance of a lifetime. seth and leah clearwater best characters.
i got this ask before the mcr twilight show in washington happened and i just have to restate. "i want to watch you turn into a werewolf" on the drum. coming back for the encore in a team edward shirt (WHERE DID IT COME FROM. I DESPERATELY NEED TO KNOW THE PROVENANCE OF THIS PARTICULAR ITEM OF CLOTHING) simping for rpattz in the batman into your song about being asked to write a song for one of the twilight movies and saying Fuck No into the first paragraph of interview with the vampire read into the vocal distorter into your biggest banger also about vampires into the final song of the night and arguably your saddest which is about dying of cancer. thanks for coming to the show glad you enjoyed the double vampire encore now think about your own mortality.
those are my thoughts on twilight :^)

On Thursday, Title 42 restrictions at the border will end. Fortunately, the Biden administration is on top of it, fully prepared to manage the coming crush of ...
Yeah, nobody’s buying that.
Even Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, a die-hard progressive, seems worried.
A year ago, Gallego was calling for an end to the pandemic-era policy that has been used more than 2.7 million times to expel border crossers since it was enacted in March 2020.
Now he’s sounding the alarm about what Biden’s plan — or possible lack of one — is going to mean for Arizona.
Sinema, Gallego expect Biden to act on immigration in a few days. He hasn't for years
“I’ve heard directly from leaders in our border communities and it’s abundantly clear that they, through no fault of their own, are simply unequipped to handle the surge of migrants that are expected when Title 42 ends,” Gallego said last week.
“They need tangible resources like buses, beds, personnel and funds to both process asylum claims in an orderly way and keep their communities safe. …. With Title 42 set to end on May 11, we need the Biden administration to act, and to act fast.”
Do we really want Biden vs. Trump again? Americans need a third choice for president.
Russia's Ukraine war is security issue: American leaders must understand Russia's war with Ukraine is a threat to our security
Gallego — who is hoping to replace Democrat-turned-independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema next year — is asking Biden to do, in a few days, what he hasn’t been able to do in a few years.
Sure, that’ll happen.
Right around the time when Biden catches up with those 85,000 unaccompanied migrant children his Department of Health and Human Services is supposed to be watching. A bunch of them are now working in factories and other sweatshops, according to The New York Times. (Welcome to the 19th century!)
“Everyone here in Arizona knows we are not prepared,” Sinema said on CBS’s “Face the Nation”, which aired on Sunday. “The Biden administration has had two years to prepare for this and did not do so. And our state is going to bear the brunt and migrants will be in crisis as soon as next week. It will be a humanitarian crisis because we are not prepared.”
We know what would fix the border, but politics get in the way
Last week, Sinema, along with Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., introduced a bill to temporarily extend Biden’s authority to expel migrants without a hearing after Title 42 ends. This, to give the administration and Congress time to finally act like leaders and address the problem.
That won’t happen.
Yet it seems painfully obvious what needs to be done.
The elephant in the room is that hunk of Swiss cheese we call a border.
Exhibit A in the case that it needs shoring up was on display late last month in Texas where five innocents were executed by a Mexican national who had been deported twice in 2009 and again in 2012 and yet again in 2016. Along with hardening up the border, we need to update our visa system so that the workers we need can come here legally (and to ensure they leave if and when those visas expire).
We need to retool the asylum system to provide protection more quickly for those who qualify for it and turn away those who don’t.
And yes, we need to offer “Dreamers” the chance to become citizens in this, the only country many of them have ever known.
Biden has a border plan, but it could take a while
Sadly, none of that will happen because it’s always an election year or the year before an election year and there are political points to be made. We are far too entrenched in our respective foxholes to actually come to a compromise.
And so we wait for Thursday and the inevitable run for the border once Biden lifts Title 42.
The Department of Homeland Security has predicted that upward of 10,000 migrants will cross the border illegally every day after Title 42 ends. That’s nearly double the daily average in March.
Other internal government projections suggest it could go as high as 13,000 daily crossings.
Relax, we are told. The Biden administration has a plan.
One that includes Latin American processing centers, a phone app and a new regulation making it more difficult for non-Mexican migrants to get asylum if they did not first seek it in a country they crossed to get here.
Biden's immigration plan fools no one: Biden's new immigration policy has something for everyone to hate
What's the endgame? Biden's White House is fine with the chaos it created at the border. What's the endgame?
“It’s going to take our plan a while to really take hold, for people to understand that they can access lawful, safe, orderly pathways before they reach the border,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Sunday on “Face the Nation”. “And quite frankly, if they come to the border, they will receive a consequence under our enforcement authorities.
“We are prepared."
Title 42 end has disaster written all over it
It’s just that nobody on the front lines here in Arizona has apparently seen evidence of it.
Me? I’m remembering that time when overwhelmed Border Patrol agents, having no place to put people, dumped weary Venezuelans and Chileans in a park in Gila Bend.
This tiny town of 2,000 people, set deep in the desert, has no bus stop, no shelters and absolutely no ability to help immigrants in search of asylum.
One of the children, hoping to reunite with his mother, asked if this was Delaware.
Yeah, Thursday has disaster written all over it.

Just posted by a member of my extended military and friend circle. Please consider helping a true hero. The write up doesn’t due him justice. He’s on hospice care and lives alone. Donations are for in home care until his passing.
His write up:
I am Timmy Woods Lavin and have been in Jay's life approximately for 60 Years.
Jay is a kind loving talented individual.
Right now he needs help! After helping so many other people either by delivering hot meals or standing out in front of the Golden Coral on Hot or Rainy days asking people to help the wounded soldiers that are Disabled American Veterans. He has known that pain every day since being a young man who has been shot up. That never stopped him from helping others or for him to succeed thru the pain.
Now he really needs help and I love him and can only do so much with my limitations. I will give and do whatever is necessary to make his last journey respectful and with peace. I am asking you to help a good soul.
Jay Lavin (formerly Lavinsky) needs our help. At Age 98, he appears to be the last survivor of the US Army's Company B, 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division in World War II. Jay fought in the Hürtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge. He received two Bronze Stars, one for Valor on December 22, 1944, when the 39th Infantry Regiment repelled the German 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division.
On February 28, 1945, while clearing the German village of Derkum at night, his squad in 3rd. Platoon was attacked by a German half-track; his foxhole buddy was mortally wounded and died in Jay's arms. On March 4, 1945, a German machine gun hit Jay with six bullets putting him in hospitals for the next six months. He was discharged from the Army with 100% disability.
Jay is in Hospice Care at home. {When we brought him home he smiled}.
The funds will be used for 24 hour care. Jay is 100% disabled.
Jay lives alone and was recently discharged from a Florida hospital after suffering a fall. He is now at home but needs 24/7 care which will continue for whatever time he may have left; care he cannot afford for long.

Thinking about the monsters’ personalities and their Exy positions and it’s just so fitting. Andrew plays goalie because he’s an island. He does care about his team and is the last line of defense but he prefers to go it alone, staying in goal where he fights alone and the whole team’s ultimate result rests with him. He carries that burden alone, where his actions can make or break the others.
Aaron and Nicky are backliners. They let Andrew shout commands and they act as they’re told. Equally, off the court, Andrew dictates their actions and they’re almost scared of him, letting him call the shots even with important personal decisions.
Neil is a striker but he started as a backliner, and it’s still what he knows first and foremost. He’s been on the defense his whole life with the threat of Riko and his dad always looming. With the Foxes, people he comes to care about end up getting involved and he’s forced to go on the attack. No more running, no more defending but to strike first and fight for what he loves.
Kevin is a striker but not the way Neil is. He does it as an island out front, almost in opposite of Andrew, acting completely independently of the others. He is a strategic striker, completely calculating, and Neil can’t play the same way as him. Even off court, Kevin’s attack is more subtle: what he did was to escape the Ravens and keep fighting them quietly, on the court, as a Fox.
Both strikers are incredibly focused and disciplined. However, Kevin yearns to play the perfect game and Neil’s drive is pure fiery passion. He’ll do the risky moves, the down and dirty ugly but necessary plays to win. Kevin wants to win without sacrificing the aesthetic and in a way, that hinders him.
All the Foxes are running from something. It takes Neil’s arrival to shake things up. He is constantly pushing them to all work together, both on and off the court, which worked; ultimately it was the only way they could all overcome everything.

So we know Andrew loves and protects his car because it’s his baby, the constant in his life that has never failed him. He fully owns it and it’s not something he has to share with siblings or owe back to a foster parent. It’s portable so it’s also his exit, in case he needs to leave.
When it gets ruined by the Ravens, he is utterly bereft, like a piece of him is missing. But when Neil gets him the new Maserati, Andrew doesn’t know what to do with himself because he now owes a guy he’s trying desperately not to open up to. And somehow, without Andrew saying anything, Neil knew that this was important to him, enough to blow his own exit fund/life savings. And just that willingness on Neil’s part to do it showed Andrew that he didn’t need the car anymore, not really, because Neil was his new safety net. Inadvertently, letting Neil buy him a new version of this most important possession and sharing his keys is the first real step that Andrew is opening up and sharing his heart.
