Reposted from @bourbonsunday I’m really excited to be working with @widespreadpanichq - here’s our print for this weekend’s run of shows in Milwaukee! I wanted to create a magical Milwaukee River Oktoberfest scene in the clouds. It’s weird. A huge thanks again to my friends at @native_screenprintco for going above and beyond for me with the printing. #widespreadpanic #gigposter #fishing #wsmfp #hometeam #chillywater #milwookie #riversidetheater #smallmouthbass #browntrout #beer #browncat #noteeater #fishwater (at The Riverside Theater) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkBWVMJOGtm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I'm curious. What would've crowstar named fishwhisker? I had such a hard time figuring her suffix out and now I'm curious. Would've it have been different.
hmm... i could see crowstar naming her something like Fishtail or Fishscale.... or Fishwater after Deepwater if she felt like pissing people off
I liked some of theories she would be named Fishclaw as a nod to Coralclaw

@lineshare-friday
this short snippet was ready-made for the theme:
"Barnaby, I ain't been quite straight with you. I… I am not proud of that fact. Anyone knows me more than five minutes knows I can't lie for shit. You'll figure it out sooner or later. Best be sooner, and you hear it from my own mouth."
"Alright, Phil," he says.
"I never lost my memories. They're all there. They're not of this place at all. You say Skyfallen forget their delusions for reality. It's all reality. Your coach station? The Company coach road? Fishwater? They don't fit in my mind any better than the day I hailed you."
“I suppose if people like me have to start over with nothing, must be others who remember it all.”
Alright, alright, one down. Not so bad. Now for the other. I press my lip against my teeth with my finger as though to keep the words inside. "I'm not a man," I venture at last.
"You are if you say you are," Barnaby counters without hesitation.
I stare. "Don't think it works like that."
"How else would it work?" he asks.
"I don't--I can't--" I stare, dumb. "I don't shave," I blurt out. Fuck, what an idiot I am.
Barnaby snorts in amusement. “Beard don’t make someone a man. Not everyone is Bodie, who has stubble before he finishes shaving. I couldn't grow one to save my life.”
Neither could my father. He barely managed a mustache. It’s a ridiculous objection. But man-ness was something external, wasn’t it? You don’t pick. I was a daughter, not a son. No one ever let me forget it. Not even my father, for as much as he tried to pretend otherwise.

I’m so sleepy I’ve been fucked up all day bc i thought i overslept by an hour and then spent an hour cleaning my room bc my aquarium filter overflowed in the night and spilled gallons of fishwater all over my desk and art supplies and shag carpet so i thought i was going to be two hours late to work but when i got to the train station i got there at the same time i always do. So weird anyways I think I’m gonna get a little calendar by my bed and my night time meds right next to it and some stickers also and put a sticker on each day after i take the pill

What kind of water is right for a fish tank?
Water quality is one of the most important conditions for the comfort of your fish. Let’s figure out how to choose the safest water from the whole variety of options.
Tap water
Deionized water
Softened water
Bottled water
Rainwater Water from streams, rivers, lakes, etc
So what kind of water should you choose if they are all imperfect? Fish owners with little experience should still choose the easiest option – tap water. The main thing is to remember about dechlorination and change filters in time. Tap water usually has known and relatively stable parameters, so sudden fluctuations in pH are unlikely, which means your pets will be as comfortable as possible.

I don't know if I'm doing this right, but I give you THREE words to find in your WIP. "Change" "Betray" and "Faith"
“Change/changes/changed/changing,” including five as part of “Exchange,” wins the prize for Most Occurrences in this game at 22. One of these times is as a noun, meaning the remainder given when paying for an item with cash. Here they are in story-chronological order:
under a cut for long post and also Great Wall o' Text.
Liese places one arm around my shoulders. “How about sitting up?”
I try to lay back down. "How about no?”
It doesn't matter because Liese hauls me up anyway. My head swims with the change of position and I gag a few times. “There. How do you feel?” she asks.
I squint my eyes open against the light. I’m wearing a long shirt I don’t think is mine. I certainly don’t remember changing into it. My legs and feet are bare. "Like shit and also confused." [2fer!]
I sling the skin opposite the empty post satchel. “You could send them a letter.”
“And make your lie true? No, I don’t think so,” she says. “If you change your mind you come back and play Watch Me with the girls tonight.”
“I’ll think about it.” I retreat into the road.
Aberdeen’s too far off to bother nailing up. I glare at the sign as though my will could change it. I didn't bring food because I was too pissed to think until it was too late and I didn’t turn around when it was sensible. The water’s pulling double duty and not fooling my stomach one bit.
My reflections change. I see others beside me in the oblivion between. Some I don’t know. Some I do.
They exchange glances and the younger sends the dog forward. It trots ahead eagerly and circles me while its owners close the gap. I dislike trying to keep an eye on the dog and men both. Finally it sits roughly at heel to me and barks once, tail wagging in the sand.
“You’re on The Company Coach Road. Company as in The Overland Coach Company, but nobody calls ‘em anything but the Company. Fishwater’s closest town back the way you came, and it's nigh on a day away by fast coach. We’re a change station here; the next proper stop is in Ditch.”
The two exchange glances. “Skyfallen,” James says, as though it explains everything.
Instead, I change the subject. “What’s a gremlin?” [note: this does not directly follow the previous sentence.]
“Sam, Cookie told me to tell you he took a tenner out of the kitty and went to town for supplies and not to expect any change. Oh, hello. I didn't realize you had a guest," she says. "Eva Palladino. Pleased to meet you." [here it is, my personal favorite usage of "change" since it's not the most commonly used meaning anymore]
She pats my knee and smiles like a grandmother might. “My sweet summer child. Sam’s job is taking advantage of people and he’s very good at it. The carnival is a bright and shiny thing for people who don’t get many bright shiny things in their lives. A show, an afternoon of fun, an exchange of money, who’s to say what’s fair? But you don’t take advantage of your people, the people who work here.”
But not me. Me, she’s less sure of. I think back on my mood coming here, and the change just watching their show. Is it worth the price of admission?
Six more rounds, six more holes. Grouping’s nicer but I’m still not happy with it. My lip twists with irritation. Sam and Tom are the only ones close enough to notice my tell, and they exchange worried glances.
I don't know if it's a real memory. Parts of it are, I think, the parts that stay the same. But the cast changes and I'm not sure if it happened this way or at all.
Alright, so two stations. Overland and Zephyr. Unless the Company changed their ammo policy they can kiss my ass. Plus there is the remote possibility I’d run into someone I know...knew...know...fuck it, someone who might put some pieces together in a way I’d rather they not. Zephyr it is.
[this paragraph directly follows the previous one in the actual text] They’re directly across the street from Overland. Probably how the town started. Couple competing coach stations. They got a listing of destinations and prices and schedules on chalkboards for easy changes. Permanent sign asking for riders on the barn side. Figured as much.
Bren decides not to pursue the subject and changes it. “There actually anything worthwhile guarding on this trip or does Daltry just want to irritate me personally?”
We changed out one team already. Bren says there are three more changes before we get to the home station in Wendaway and stop for the night. I don’t miss Bumble, who actually kicked in harness when they were changing the teams and spooked the shit out Butterbuns and the swing pair, not to mention the poor hostelers leading the next team into place. [3fer!]
The bandit’s horse wobbles when it loses its rider but keeps running on with us. It’ll stop eventually, or keep up until we hit the next change station I guess. Horses are not what you’d call clever.
We exchange glances. Bren laughs first. I start to chuckle but the sound gives me the shivers and I finish with another sigh. “Shit,” I repeat. “Made me lose my spent shells, too.”
“Bren, I’m the same person,” I say. For now, at least. Speaking out of turn for Constant Companion, but he best not fuck this up for me or we’re both in a load of hurt. “Only thing changed is how you see me.”
So. It's my turn this time. My father, hale and well for a change, stands alone in his circle of light. Mayor Whidby is beside me, One-Eye Washbourne beneath his hood to my right. I know it's him; it always is.
There is one occurrence of the word “betray,” which is rather interesting to me considering the tone of the story as a whole:
“Reuben Dinwiddle, you stand convicted of betraying your duty to the people of the Barony of Garlan, by taking their fees without delivering their post,” he pauses here for the crowd to boo and they oblige him.
There is one occurrence of the word “faith,” which is also interesting, and particularly interesting in the sentence it’s in:
“You know some stuff it ain’t good for you to know,” I say. “I trust you’ll keep it to yourself. My new Best Friend, on the other hand, don’t have my faith in humanity.”
