Being Latino myself, the fact that a US president used that term (referring to the title of this post) to describe all of us along with other choice phrases like "rapists" or "drug dealers" is abhorrent. I know what you're thinking, "aren't you beating a dead horse?" and to answer that question, no, no I'm not, and if you think I am, then you need to be beaten because racial discrimination never seems to fucking end with these white dipshits. However, this isn't quite the point of this post.

I'm not oblivious to the recent event of which one of our own, went and decided to use a school in Texas as a firing range. As a Latino, I don't accept responsibility or accountability for that idiot's actions based on the fact that we are PoC.

I am not a rapist.

I am not a drug dealer.

I am not a "bad hombre".

And I am certainly not a school shooter.

If you want to use these terms to describe me, remember, you don't know who I am, and if I hear you use any of those descriptors along with any other derogatory word for Latino, you will walk away with a fat lip. I'm done being nice.

I don't know what possessed him to commit such a heinous act, I don't know what the underlying mental health issues (if any) are and frankly, I don't care. My heart goes out to the victims and their families, and I'm not just saying that like most politicians.

However.

This stupid fuck, just set all minorities back several steps and may have just added "school shooters" to the fucking list of names that Trump used to describe us.

Way to go asshole. Glad you're fucking dead. Just wish the cops killed you before you killed a whole goddamned classroom, most of which were children. Fucking CHILDREN. What the fuck could they have possibly done to you to deserve that? Even if their families did something to you, why the fucking kids?

And thanks to you, you just gave white politicians a fucking scapegoat. They're gonna blame us for what you did.

Never mind that you were able to easily get ahold of an AR-15. Which no civilian should have access to. Hell, not even law enforcement should have that sort of weaponry.

And now, the point shines through. Gun control. We don't have any. So don't fucking look at us like we're the problem, meanwhile all you slack-jawed, gun-toting, white-ass pieces of shit are fucking the barrels of your guns cause you're so fucking horny for them that you'll do anything to be able to go buy a gun or ammunition over the counter at a fucking Walmart.

You'll allow schools to be a shooting range, and blame an entire race for your incompetence, just so you can keep your guns. Well, I have an idea.

Shove your guns up your asses, and pull the goddamn triggers.

Saw one too many posts along the lines of 'I put something not oven-safe in the turned off oven for Reasons and then my spouse/roommate/sibling turned on the oven and ruined it!' recently and that combined with my automatic pre-turning on the oven habit of opening the door to make sure there's nothing in there has got me thinking.

I Always check the oven before I turn it on. Doesn't matter if I know for a fact nothing is in there or the racks haven't moved out of the position i want, I always check. And I always check because that's the way I was taught. When I started learning how to cook from my mom, the first thing she taught me to do was check the oven. I always figured that was just a common sense safety thing she passed on, but it also occurred to me that my mom worked as a firefighter/paramedic for a good portion of my childhood. So maybe that was something she passed on from her experiences as a firefighter.

So now I'm curious, and in true tumblr fashion I'm gonna sate my curiosity with a poll.

Note: 'Raised' can mean you had a parent/parental figure who was a firefighter. Or an extended family member who was. Or a family friend. If they served a role in your life that taught you things, they had a hand in raising you.

Obligatory please reblog for sample size. I doubt this will break containment and get more than a dozen or so votes but it would be super cool if it did.
