The 100 knew how to do a redemption arc.
Throughout its seven-season run on The CW, post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama repeatedly doubled down on one of its many thought-provoking mantras: there are no good guys. The “good guys” often did terrible things in the name of survival, and the “bad guys” were rarely through-and-through evil (although they could be “cockroaches”).
Timed to the recent 10-year anniversary of the series premiere, we chatted with Richard Harmon, Lindsey Morgan, and Henry Ian Cusick about how they came to join the show, the extent to which Harmon and Cusick saw their characters as villains during the first season, and why they think The 100 has stuck around in the sci-fi genre.
Murphy wasn’t originally Murphy: he was “John #1,” and he wasn’t meant to live past the show’s second episode. Harmon recalled the process of first auditioning for the show: “I originally auditioned for the role of Bellamy, beautifully played by Bob Morley,” he said. “I remember auditioning for that and thinking, ‘There’s no way in hell I’m ever going to get this role.’ Lo and behold, I did not.” Weeks later, he got an audition for the roles of “John #1” and “John #2,” and after feeling confident that he’d booked it, he learned that he had. He was John #1.
Harmon said that despite his character’s predetermined Episode 2 death, he approached the first episode determined to do something different and have fun with the role. Thankfully, showrunner Jason Rothenberg was watching. “I guess he noticed that, liked what I was doing, and expanded the role in some rewrites during the shooting of the Pilot,” Harmon said, adding that half of what Murphy said in the aired Pilot wasn’t there in the original script. “When it got picked up to series, he emailed me personally—which was kind of a shocking thing as not a lead, to get an email from the creator of the show. He said, ‘I really liked what you did, how would you feel about not dying in the second episode? Could you stick around for the whole first season? Your last name will be Murphy, people will call you Murphy, and what do you think?’” And so went the story of how he booked “John #1”… and how “John #1” became John Murphy.

First appearing in the show’s second episode rather than in the Pilot, Morgan wound up on The 100 through a whirlwind of correct timing and fate. She’d been waiting to hear whether she’d booked a role on Chicago P.D. when she auditioned for the part of Raven on Tuesday, chemistry-read with Thomas McDonnell [played Finn Collins] on Thursday, and was on a plane headed to Vancouver by Sunday. She later found out she wouldn’t have gotten the Chicago P.D. role. “It’s crazy to look back and imagine it happening any other way,” she said.
Similarly to Harmon’s “John #1,” Morgan’s Raven wasn’t meant to be a The 100 mainstay. Originally, Morgan said, Raven was meant to die after just five episodes—a shock, when one considers how integral the quick-thinking mechanic and tech genius became to the plot of the show. “I was on pins and needles, waiting to receive my death notice with each passing script,” Morgan said. After the Season 1 finale, Rothenberg made the offer to Morgan to stick around for Season 2. She’d been up for a role on a different show at that time. If she’d gotten it, Raven would’ve died from the gunshot wound dealt her by Murphy. Obviously, Raven survived. “The rest was history,” Morgan said. “As we all know, nothing can kill Raven Reyes.”

For his part, Cusick mentioned that it was a sense of longing for Lost that led him to The 100. “It was Pilot season, and I had just finished something, and I was reading a bunch of Pilots,” he remembered. “The 100 turned up, and I thought it was very similar in tone to Lost, which I was missing. I read that and I said to my agent, ‘That’s a cool Pilot.’ I ended up having a meeting with [showrunner] Jason Rothenberg, and we had a chat, and he offered it to me.”
While he did almost float Clarke’s mother, Dr. Abby Griffin (Paige Turco}, in the Pilot, Cusick disagrees with the label of Kane as a villain and passionately defends him. Even in the show’s early days, he says he just viewed Kane as “more of a d**k.” Cusick recounts several things his character was accused of doing but never actually did—such as attempting to kill Jaha (Isaiah Washington)—and maintains that rather than being villainous, Kane was simply a stickler for the rules. “Other people were talking about him and badmouthing him, but he was just a man who was trying to save the human race,” Cusick said. “He went about it in a rather authoritarian, draconian way. He was very strict. And then when he arrived on Earth, he went ‘Oh, humanity is still around.’ Then he could go back to being who he really was. That’s my opinion.”
Whether viewers considered him a villain or a d**k, Kane undoubtedly softened up. His kindness and diplomacy helped establish peace with the grounders as he formed a friendship with Indra (Adina Porter), he and Abby fell in love, and he gradually became a father figure to the delinquents—especially Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley). “I really took to Bob quite quickly,” Cusick remembered. “We would joke around a lot. I would call him my ‘idiot son’ and stuff like that,” he said with a laugh. “We kind of cultivated that relationship, I thought, that we were like father and son. We enjoyed each other’s company, so that was easy to play.”

Harmon, on the other hand, readily admitted he played Murphy as a villain in Season 1—so much so that he’d taken inspiration for Murphy and Bellamy’s relationship from Biblical literature. “I based [Murphy] loosely off of Lucifer, actually,” he said. “Bellamy was God, for this group, and I’m his right-hand favorite angel, but demon, really. Eventually I try to take too much power, just like Lucifer does in the Bible, and God smites me down. That’s when I get thrown out to the grounders in the wild and come back way later, with the sickness.”
When the show was picked up for a second season, Harmon and Rothenberg had another chat. “At the end of Season 1, Jason said, ‘Will you stick around for the long haul now going forward to Season 2?’” Harmon said. “And I was like, ‘Of course, I would love to, but how are you going to do that?’” Rothenberg, Harmon remembered, wanted him to get the audience on Murphy’s side. Harmon was up for the challenge, as long as he was given material to convince the audience that there was a good reason behind Murphy’s notable not-niceness. “Eventually, as the seasons progressed and the fans responded favorably to Murphy, all of my cuts were a good angle, and I was a little more tanned with dirt, and I was like, ‘I think they’re trying to, maybe, make me hot,” Harmon laughed. “I don’t think at that point in my career anyone had ever tried to make me attractive on-screen before. That was nice. That felt good.”
Raven Reyes was about as far from a villain as one could get, even though she, like every character, had to make incredibly difficult choices. Morgan has fond memories especially of Season 2, and portraying Raven’s journey with losing the use of her leg. “As an able-bodied actor, I felt a deep responsibility and honor towards playing a character with disabilities as accurately as I could,” she said. “I wanted to bring justice, nuance, complexity, and the best accuracy to her journey as I could, and hopefully share and showcase her truth, as well as the strength people with disabilities exhibit daily.”
Morgan, too, has fond memories of filming in the Vancouver wilderness. While filming with Cusick and the “adult” cast on the Ark put her inside in the warm studio (and closer to the snacks), she enjoyed being outside in the forest… and sneaking in an on-set nap when an opportunity presented itself. “I can, and will, nap anywhere,” she recalled. “Thomas [McDonnell] almost stepped on my head once, because I was napping on the floor of our cast tent. I blended into the ground.”
Tumblr media
The CW
Aside from his bond with Bellamy Blake, Kane’s other major connection on The 100 was his romance with Dr. Abby Griffin. Surprisingly, Cusick hadn’t known the writers intended to take the characters in that direction. “I remember Paige [Turco] saying to me, ‘I think they’re trying to get us together,’ and I was thinking, ‘No, that’s never going to happen. We need to be combative. That’s where the drama is,’” he said. In the end, Kane and Abby had a heartwarming love that lasted several seasons. Cusick thinks that not being told from the start about the romance angle only improved his performance. “The actors had no clue that was going to happen, so we were just playing our motivations, and our roles, and what we thought was right,” he said. “There was no hint of any flirtation or anything like that between the characters, so that’s when it happened. Maybe the audience saw it, I don’t know, but it was certainly a surprise to me.”
Unfortunately, Kane and Abby didn’t have the happy ending that many might’ve hoped for. Cusick departed the show in its sixth season, and Turco’s character was killed off in the Season 6 finale. While The 100 fans know all about heartbreak, it might add an extra layer of sadness to know that originally, Kane and Abby had been intended to have a more hopeful story. “My relationship with Abby was good, and people wanted us to get together,” Cusick reflected. “I think that would’ve happened, had I not left. I know that Jason [Rothenberg] said he wanted that to happen—he wanted us to get married, which would’ve been interesting.”
Cusick also directed the eleventh episode of Season 4, “The Other Side,” and the tenth episode of Season 5, “The Warriors Will.” When he thinks back on those experiences, he does so with appreciation for the show’s crew including director of photography Michael Blundell, and gratitude to Jason Rothenberg, director Dean White, and the cast. “Just in general, I never really got a chance to say this: I wanted to say thank you,” he said. “When I meet everyone at cons, I’m thinking about how we all went through this together. We all have relationships that are unique, because we went through that show. I’m always amazed when we meet up at cons by how fun they all are, and how nice it is to see them again.”
Tumblr media
The CW
On the subject of conventions, Harmon mentioned that he and Morley used to take it as a badge of honor when fans would tell them that they hated Murphy and Bellamy. Twitter death threats, too, Harmon learned to take in stride. “It got a little hectic at times, for sure,” he remembered. “If people wanted to hate you so much, I’m so grateful for that. That just means we did our job well.” Harmon also mentioned that he wished he’d gotten to keep Murphy’s jacket from Season 1. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know what happened to it. Morgan, on the other hand, has held onto a few of Raven’s iconic items—including her trademark red jacket and knee brace. “I joked that I was going to make a plaster cast out of my body and display them in my house,” she said. “I definitely didn’t do that, but I have them in a safe place.”
As for The 100’s staying power, Harmon, Morgan, and Cusick all pointed out its continued interrogation of what it means to be human, especially in heightened, life-or-death situations. While the show was airing, Harmon said he called it the “biggest show you’ve never heard of.” At this point, he no longer thinks that description is true—people have heard of it.
“It was cool to be on the biggest show you’ve never heard of, because people would be like, ‘What show?’ and then all of a sudden there’d be five people who’d go, ‘The 100? Yes!’” he remembered. “People who watched it fell in love with it. Or were livid with it. Either way.”

Simon: Come stop your crying it will be alright
Just take my hand, hold it tight, I will protect you from all around you, I will be there don’t you cry
This song is basically perfect for the father and son duo since I read your 1700 word one shot
Not a Phill Collins tarzan track 😭 im sorry its a fine song but i just don't like that movie
I know the Cheers theme is becoming Simon's ThingTM but Id like to imagine he'd sing that or old broadway tunes maybe

okay, so I know you're deeply into Full Circle, but I've been doing so much research with the original series and The Listen Series again lately and I just had to come yell at you (with love and immense excitement) because...
Mary? From OSOT?? I...Idk. Maybe it's just my own headcanon? But I swear...she didn't even flinch when Cammie got her in a lock? Took care of her. Knew all the languages she was speaking? Irish. Strawberry Blonde. Face full of freckles. Blue eyes. Close in age to Cam?
Is it just me?! IS THAT MRS. O'REILLY?!
Sarah, I need answers. Like did you also think this or I have stumbled upon this?
And if I've stumbled upon it, CAN YOU IMAGINE -
A girl, a little lost and confused, maybe on the run from something herself, and meeting Cam, she decides she isn't alone and maybe she saved Cammie on that mountain, but maybe, just maybe Cammie saved her a little? And she leaves. And she meets PHINEAS. AND THEN
AND THEN-
Phineas. Decides to study the brain, because "Mary" was fascinated, after Cammie, and maybe they talked about it a lot, and maybe he just needed to feel closer to her, to understand his own grief, whatever the reason.
AND THENNNNN
THAT MAN
SAVES CAMMIE'S SON ON THAT SAME MOUNTAIN WITH HER
AND HELPS HER DAUGHTER
AND HIS SON HELPS HER DAUGHTER
AND
SARAH DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!
AM I ALONE? AM I CRAZY? WHERE ARE ZACH AND LUKE TO TELL ME I'M NOT CRAZY*
-@superblycaffeinated
*see my next thing yelling at you
hello yes I'm back because, I just have to talk about Luke Collins #1 - both him and Zach telling Cam and Morgan that they aren't crazy? I cry. Every time. Every. Single. Time. #2- something about this last re-read, maybe it's cause I was bouncing around between both series, but how much more I noticed the direct similarities but also the opposite to their relationships and each other? Like Cammie and Zach, at Gillian's in OSOT and Zach says he can't fit. and he kisses her for luck. BUT THEN LUKE says almost the same thing. In Sleuth Will Set You Free? and Morgan's like I don't care and he is just....UGHHHHH #3- the beautiful subtle way Luke starts to get more open about his feelings for Morgan? And her too, but mainly him is what I'm focused on. That quiet Luke Collins thing. When Morgan literally describes them as being not so great at the outward, open thing like Matt/Scout - and then Luke is loop de looping on her arm and kissing her palm and is that a pistol in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?/just kiss me?! EXCUSE ME?! and he's all nervous and frantic energy until his hands settle on her when she finally wakes up and THE WRIST KISS in the last chapter. Anyways, just me kissing your beautiful big lovely brain as always and thanking you for writing this series over and over and over again 💙
😍✨💕🎉🥰 I certainly don't remember making the Mary connection to Finn's mom, but I am always always always open to more Finn lore—I absolutely adore that kid. Always down for adding more meaning where you can find it. And speaking of kids I adore, you're absolutely right about Luke Collins, in every way. He's the best. At the time, I remember trying to write him in direct parallel to Zach, though that changed over the 7+ years it took me to write the series. I learned a lot between book 5 and book 6, and Luke's development can be directly attributed to those 5 years away. I adore the way he comes across in all the books, but Over and Run With is a real breakout for him. brb gonna go re-read those Gathering chapters rn... 👀 (Thanks for screaming with me, I do love this series)

🎰
Send 🎰 for me to put our muses into a random list generator then post the first five as potential ships!
finley ‘finn’ lapley x zuri robinson but here me out, imagine if eddie got with one of the con artists in the group. that could totally be their dynamic. zuri and the rest of the crew go to the bar that finn works at. zuri often vents at finn and then realises that he's one man she actively likes being around! also this picture falls on the floor
seth goldmann x august baxter i'm thinking they could be quite adorable. gus is always stuck in his shell and maybe seth is the only one who can bring him out of it. best friends turned to lovers, because that is the best concept for gus to be honest - and then when seth finds out the truth about gus and his 'skills', the drama! the chaos!
samara collins x mars yates don't ask me why, but i'm feeling some type of semi-toxic relationship here. maybe they met where she works, or maybe they've known each other forever. whatever the case, mars is absolutely jealous of something. they could be fun...lots of feelings and no idea about where to put them.
millie king x ellie carter maybe they've been colleagues in a past life and stayed in contact? they've shared their inner most thoughts and so definitely stayed close. ellie has a crush, but she'd deny it until she was blue in the face very awkward and scared of ruining their friendship.
irina trenton x xeno starr i'm getting sci-fi, futuristic rom-com vibes here. she could be the first human he meets on the planet and he's still acting...weird, and she takes him under her wing and tries to work what the hell is going on with him. i can't think of the right energy right now, maybe eleven x mike? something of that vibe...i'll think of it eventually....

Silent bloom
Parings: Finn Collins/reader Bellamy Blake/reader
Warnings: Mentions of blood
Chapter: 1.13
Distance was all that mattered. You run through the forest, leaves and branches reaching out to grab you, tearing at your skin and clothes. You weren’t stopping for anything, and sure as hell weren’t going to stop to look behind.
Seeing the night sky was the only assurance that you were still alive, but despite that, there was no help for the sick feeling inside your stomach. The mud and grit had become enmeshed with raw pink flesh and was spotted with blood. You had no idea where you were heading.
Looking over the gates at camp, you spotted some white flowers growing. They were beautiful and pure. You had picked a few and decided to place them on Wells' grave. You weren’t overly close to him when he was alive, but you still felt guilty for not being able to save him that night. If you had gone looking for him sooner, or screamed for help, he might have had a chance to survive. Taking care of his grave was your way of apologising. Octavia had offered to go with you, but you insisted on being alone.
As you made your way back towards the gates of camp, a rustling noise from behind caught your attention. You turned to see two men in hazmat suits crouching close by. They were watching your campmates through binoculars. Gulping down, you slowly started to back away, hoping they wouldn’t notice. But they did.
You tumbled over a branch that caused you to land on the ground with a thump and before you had the chance to move again, men in hazmat suits grabbed you. Your kicks and screams did nothing to aid your escape. You weren’t strong enough to fight them off. The feeling of something sharp pricking at your neck made you scream out for help weakly as the dizziness caused your vision to start blurring.
Suddenly, the man let go and he fell to the ground. The second body quickly hit the ground after. You tried to crawl away from them, not being strong enough to stand, but you didn’t make it far. An older looking woman walked forward and glanced down at you. Her face was covered in black kohl, and she was wearing tribal clothes that were decorated with fresh blood. She was a grounder, and she wasn’t alone.
"It’s not safe out here."
You turn around to see Bellamy standing behind you, with an unamused expression on his face. Not that you judged him. He had almost died twice in the last few hours.
"It’s not safe anywhere," you pointed out.
Clarke and Finn returned with grounders not far behind. Monty was still missing. Murphy had terrorised the camp, and now Raven was possibly dying, and Connor was dead.
"Your shift is over. You should get some rest." With a sigh, you accepted Bellamy’s hand, as he helped you down from the ledge you were standing on. You couldn’t help but stare. Even in the night, you could see the bruises around Bellamy’s neck. Without thinking, you reached out and ran your fingers across the dark mark. He flinched only for a moment before leaning into your touch. His gaze fell from your face down to your bandaged thigh, "Does it hurt?"
"No... Well yeah, but it’s getting better." You stepped back from him, "How is your neck?"
"Never better." You snorted at the bluntness of his answer. Something else was playing on his mind. Bellamy tensed again before he spoke. "Octavia told me about you and Finn arguing, a-"
"It won’t happen again. We have bigger issues to focus on."
"I was going to ask if you were okay." You didn’t know what to say. It had never occurred to you that Bellamy would have cared, especially when grounders could attack at any moment. "O never went into detail, but she said it got nasty."
"I would never have taken Bellamy Blake for a gossip," you teased.
Bellamy smirked at your comment, "you're one of the best gunners we’ve got Daisy, but you are useless if you're distracted. I don’t want you to miss a kill shot because of a distraction."
He was right, the argument was a distraction. You only cared deeply about a few people, and in the blink of an eye, you had lost Monty and Finn. You let out a deep sigh, "there’s nothing to tell... how far away do you think the grounders are?"
Bellamy clenched his jaw. You assumed he wasn’t happy that you were avoiding the question, but this wasn’t the time to open those wounds. "They won’t be far," he must have sensed you were unconvinced because he probed you some more. "You’ve been staring outside these gates for hours without flinching. What’s going on?"
"I just... I don’t get it. They only followed Clarke and Finn so far, then they stopped. I’m just trying to figure out why."
"To get reinforcements."
"Maybe," you paused before continuing. "From what we know, grounders don’t give up without a fight. They aren’t afraid of dying. Hell, the bomb at the bridge didn’t stop them. I think something else made them turn back."
"I really hope you're wrong."
You opened your eyes to the noise of yelling around you. It had all just been a bad dream. Groaning, you tried to sit up and realised you couldn’t. You had been chained to the bed.
"I’m glad kom see yu laik awake skai raunon."
You turn your head and see the grounder from the forest standing by the doorway. "I... I’m sorry, I don’t understand."
A younger looking girl stepped forward, and translated. "She’s glad to see you are awake."
For what reason would a grounder want you awake? You suddenly noticed the chains attached to your wrists. The memory of Murphy telling you what the grounders did to him played on your mind. You instantly curled your fingers into the palm of your hands.
"Why?" You were embarrassed by the weakness in your own voice.
"We saved you."
You looked between the young girl and the older woman who hadn’t taken her eyes off you. It was true they were probably still alive, "thank you."
"Mochof," the older grounder said before placing a bucket of water down next to you. "Mochof is thank you in our language. My name is Zelda, and this is Ada."
"I’m Daisy." You eyed Zelda suspiciously as she poured a powder into the water before offering the bucket to you. "What did you just put in it?"
"It has healing properties. It will pull any poison from your wounds out."
"Why would you waste your medicine on me?"
Ada took the bucket from Zelda and placed it in front of you, "because we want peace."
You accepted the ragged looking clothes from the young girl and began washing your neck, before moving to your ankles. There was no point in refusing, you had no weapon and physically wouldn’t be able to fight them off with restricted movement. The stinging sensation in your wounds was unlike anything you’d ever experienced before. Soon after, an overwhelming heaviness takes over you.
You opened your eyes again to find you were still in the same hut as before, except now it was only lit by a small flame that was next to the chair Ada was sleeping in. You wonder how long you’ve been asleep. The night's cool air made goosebumps appear on your skin, which caused you to notice your lack of clothes. Your trousers were gone.
"I cut them off to change your wound."
Her voice took you by surprise, as you hadn’t realized she was awake. You looked at Ada and noticed she now had war paint on her face that matched Zelda’s. "Who was screaming earlier?"
"They were just reapers."
You tried to rack your brain for any clues about them, but your mind went blank. "What are reapers?"
"Men who are no longer men." Ada stood up and walked towards the ‘bed’ you were still chained to, "You have an interesting collection of scars, Daisy."
You scoffed at the comment, "so I’ve heard."
"Did you get them in battle?"
As Ada moved in the dimly lit room, you noticed the three large scars on her left shoulder. They looked deep and raw. "No, most of them were caused by accidents. How did you get yours?"
"A wild animal," she paused for a minute before continuing. "I have water and food to share if you’d like some."
It amazed you the way you had been treated by the two grounders, considering the stories you had heard. Her offer reminded you of the night you had your wristband removed so you could give Charlotte more food. The memory caused a lump to form in the back of your throat. "Only if you have enough to share."
After eating in silence, Ada offered to look at the rest of your wounds to make sure they weren’t infected. You couldn’t decide if she was genuinely kind or trying to lure you into a false sense of security, regardless you accepted her offer.
As Ada cleaned a couple of scratches on the back of your neck, you cleared your throat. "So... what are you and Zelda planning on doing with me? I’m guessing I won’t be free to walk any time I want."
It surprised you when Ada let out a small laugh, "That is the plan."
"Now I’m really confused. You kidnapped me to clean me up, feed me, then let me leave?"
"We saved, not kidnapped," you helped your chained wrists up. "We aren’t stupid. You could have woken up and tried to kill us."
"Good point, but I still don’t understand why. Our people are at war."
Ada sighed before rummaging around in a different part of the room. "We have a common enemy, the mountain men."
"The men in hazmat suits?" She nodded, and it started to make sense. "What are they doing?"
"For a long time, people have been going missing. Many of us believe if we work together we can stop them."
Her comment surprised you, "Does your commander think so?"
"Not yet, but if your people understand we aren’t savages, then maybe they will be willing to fight with us."
You couldn't help but laugh, not because the situation was funny, but because two grounders had saved you from mountain men, then chained you to a bed, but still showed you nothing but kindness. And now they want to use you to help end a war. "How many of your people think this?"
"Enough of them. Do you think your people would do the same?"
You knew Octavia would be accepting of grounders wanting peace. Finn and Clarke would be the same. The problem would be convincing the rest of the delinquents, but you were sure Bellamy would convince them once you explained. God, you hoped you got the chance to see them all again. You let out a deep sigh. The last thing you wanted to do was lie. "I hope they will. They might not listen to me, but I know somebody they would blindly follow."
"I’m going to find Zelda. I brought you this in case you get a cold."
"Thank you," you called after her before throwing the blanket over your legs.
After she left, you laid back down as questions kept swirling around in your head, but you’d have time to ask them in the morning. The last thought you had before falling back asleep was if Monty had been taken by grounders, or mountain men.
The door to the hut suddenly burst open and a blood-soaked Ada entered. It had been at least a couple of days since you last saw her. Luckily, she had left enough food and water for you, as well as loosening your chains slightly.
"What happened?" Ada said nothing but unchained you before throwing clothes down beside you, "Are you hurt?"
"Hurry and put them on."
As you pulled your new trousers on, you froze when a gunshot went off in the distance. You turned to face Ada, who was staring emotionless outside the open door. You leaned closer to her and whispered, "What’s going on?"
"Skaikru didn’t want peace. I can’t help you anymore."
"Wait?" You said it a little too loudly as Ada made her way to the door, causing her to turn and frown. "You need to tell me what happened. I can still talk to-"
"It’s too late," she snarled. "Zelda is dead. The war has already begun. Jus drein jus daun, blood must have blood."
You stared at her not knowing what to say. You finished getting dressed in an awkward silence as Ada kept guard. The last few days had felt like a dream you couldn’t wake up from. At any moment, you’d wake up in camp and the dream would become nothing but a distant memory.
"You will need this," Ada handed you a blade. "Be careful, the poison the mouton men gave you can last for days. Mebi oso na hit choda op nodotaim Daisy kom Skaikru."
"I hope we meet again."
Days of not walking properly had taken their toll on your body as you kept stumbling while walking up the steep hill. You ducked down low when you heard voices getting closer. Crawling closer to get a better look, you froze when multiple gunshots fired close by.
You stayed in the same spot until you heard the familiar voice of Clarke. You slowly struggled to your feet and began walking to the top. The thought of yelling did occur to you, but you were dressed like a grounder, and would be alerting god knows who to your location. The pain radiating through your body made you want to give up, but you needed to push forward. You needed to know if your friends were safe. Finally, a head of blonde hair came into view, along with thick dark hair. A wave of relief washed over you knowing that Bellamy was safe.
You thought it was strange that neither of them were moving forward as you stumbled towards them. Clarke placed a hand over her mouth and spun to face the other way, the same time you fell to your knees. "Daisy!"
She rushed over towards you, while Bellamy stood stunned for a moment. He quickly snapped out of it. Clarke moved to the side as Bellamy knelt down in front of you. He brushed strands of hair out of your face, "I thought you were dead."
"Ditto," the expression on Bellamy’s face worried you. "So what have I missed Blake?"
Bellamy held the same worried expression as you got back to your feet and walked towards where he stood a moment ago. Nothing could have ever prepared you to see a pile of dead bodies. The sight made you feel sick. Finn and Murphy came into view. Both of them noticed you at the same time. Murphy shook his head as Finn stepped towards you with an almost insane look on his face.
You stumbled backwards and a pair of hands caught you before you fell. Bellamy held onto you tightly as you backed away from the scene in front of you.
Finn suddenly appeared directly in front of you, saying, "I found you.”

“I’m coming with you.” You told the group of teens about to begin their own mission in the woods. You had been keeping an eye on them recently, it’d be best to keep on with that. Kane was counting on you to evaluate the authority of the Ground. These guys were rising up.
“Alright, good.” Clarke accepted your offer and led everyone towards the forest.
“Welcome to the team, y/n.” Finn walked beside you with his hands in his pockets. “Believe it or not, we’re the fun ones.” He joked, giving you a much needed laugh. “Just don’t get on the wrong side of the Princess over there.”
—————
You went on a few more treks with that team...and Finn. You were starting to form a bond with him. That wasn’t in the mission guidelines.
“Y/N, watch out!” Finn tackled you into the dirt as a trap was set off, only missing the pair of you by a few inches. “You okay?” Each of you panted and you were pretty sure you saw the life flash before your eyes before frantically nodding. Finn crawled off of you and pulled you back to your feet, then you immediately yanked him forward for a kiss of gratitude. Maybe a little more thank gratitude, but that’s not important right now.
“Thanks, Collins.”

'He has to know where our friends are! He had Clarke's watch!' Finn shouted as he paced back and forth.
'I say we just keep torturing him, he'll talk eventually.' Murphy commented.
Bellamy huffed, 'He's not talking now. What makes you think he'll fess up later?'
After the bloody war with the grounders by the Dropship, our friends were gone. A lot of us were convinced that the grounders may have possibly taken them. Jasper, Monty, Clarke and some of the others disappeared without a trace, or so we thought.
While spying on the grounders at their camp, we saw one of them wearing Clarke's watch around his neck. Knowing that she would never give it up willingly, we were pretty much convinced that the grounders have done something to our friends.
Watching Finn nervously walking around like a lost puppy made me upset, especially because there was nothing I could do to help him ease the pain.
Ever since we've found actual evidence, he's been obsessed with finding them. It was starting to get bad and I was afraid it would get worse.
I walked up to my boyfriend and reached for his hand, trying to calm him down but I could see it was no help. He was still breathing heavily and his eyes were wandering. It scared me to see him like this, I've never seen him act like this before.
'Just take a deep breath, okay? We will figure something out.' I murmured, hoping he'd at least listen to me.
Murphy rolled his eyes, 'Come on. We don't have time for all of that.'
'Shut up, Murphy. I'm worried about our friends but I'm worried about Finn too.'
Finn sighed, 'I'll be fine once we find our friends. And Murphy's right, if we want something out of him we need to try harder.'
'What do you mean harder?' I asked nervously.
'Doing whatever it takes, of course.' He replied without hesitation.
My eyes widened and my heart dropped as I heard those words come out of his mouth. 'Finn, there are other ways we can approach this.'
'How!?' He quickly turned around and yelled as he was in my face. I froze, staring into his eyes and noticing the look in his eyes.
Finn was different; it was different from when he was defending camp or when he was angry when Bellamy bossed him around. The anger in him was deeper than I thought and quite frankly, it started to scare me.
He ignored my stare and approached the grounder that we took hostage. Pulling out his gun, he reloaded it and aimed it at the man.
'Woah, woah. This is crazy Finn. Let's think this through.' Bellamy exclaimed.
'We want to save our friends right? That means we have to do whatever it takes.'
Murphy shrugged. 'It's not like if we do get the answers from him, we're gonna let him flee. He can bring his friends and hunt us down next.'
I turned to Murphy with my brows furrowed, 'Are you kidding me? We're just going to murder him when we don't even have the answer? For all we know, they just looted the Dripship and didn't take our friends.'
Finn chuckled devilishly, 'You really think they just took our things? They've threatened us over and over in the past except now, they've finally got what they wanted; Revenge. Beaides, Murphy is right. We can't let him go.'
'We don't have to do this. There are other ways to solve the issue. We can just trap him here too, you know?' Bellamy said, I've never seen him so serious and less of a dick. For the first time, I actually agreed with him.
'Bellamy's right, Finn. Let me help, maybe we can do something else.' I approached him and grabbed onto his jacket, not knowing that that was a total mistake.
Finn shrugged me off, perhaps a little to hard as the butt of the gun hit me on my forehead. Not expecting such force or even expecting for him to react the way he did, I fell right on my back.
In shock, I was on the floor for a while trying to process what had happened. Finn rushed next to me, kneeling as he reached out for me with tears in his eyes. 'Y/N! I-I'm s-'
'Finn what the fuck! She's bleeding.' Bellamy approached me as well, checking on my wound on my head.
Tears streamed down my face from shock but mostly from disappointment. I lightly mumbled, 'What's wrong with you.'
'I didn't mean this, I'm sorry!' Before Finn tried to grip my hand, I immediately pulled it away.
Was he obsessed and getting high off of torturing this grounder that could possibly be innocent? Or was he genuinely caring for our friends that were gone?
Either way, my boyfriend scared me and I couldn't believe that he went far to where he hurt his own people. His own girlfriend.
With my sleeve, I wiped the blood off of my head. I bit my lip, trying to stop myself from crying as I looked into Finn's eyes. 'I can't believe you.'
While I heard bickering between Murphy, Finn and Bellamy from behind, I left the bunker alone. The person I loved so dearly wasn't the same person I knew from before.
Finn -
As I screamed Y/N's name, I saw her walking away from me and exiting the bunker. I never meant to hurt her, I would never do that to her. The fact I did hurt my heart more than ever.
Bellamy held his hand towards my chest as I tried to chase her outside. 'Let her be for a while, she probably needs space.'
'What do you know about her, huh?' I knew Bellamy meant well but all the rage in me made me yell at him. 'She's my girlfriend and I need to check on her.'
'We're just going to leave good ole dude here?' Murphy pointed at the grounder we were investigating.
'None of that is important right now-' I stopped my thought process, 'I mean it is but Y/N... Y/N.'
Panic rushed all over me, thinking of how her head started bleeding. I did that to my own girlfriend, I mean who does that? I preoccupied myself with finding our friends that I totally forgot the other things in my life that was important.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. 'Can I just- I need to talk to her.'
Murphy and Bellamy looked at each other and back to me. Shrugging, Murphy added. 'I don't see why you shouldn't but if he's dead when you come back it's not my fault.'
Bellamy hit him on his shoulder, 'We're not killing him, at least not yet.'
'So can I go?'
There was silence in the bunker, while Bellamy was in his thoughts. After a while, he sighed. 'Go do what you have to do.'
After getting Bellamy's okay, I quickly left the bunker hoping Y/N was right by but she wasn't. Now more than ever, I feared that something happened to her and it was all my fault.
'Y/N!' I yelled looking everywhere around the forest but there were no signs of her. My eyes started to tear up as I imagined the worst possible things in my head. The guilt grew in me more and more as I searched for her.
'What do you want?' I heard mumbling from under the tree, as she was curled up.
'I wanted to come and tell you that I'm sorry.'
Seeing her like this pained me, mostly because I was the cause of all of this. It should have never been like this, I was supposed to be the one protecting her and not hurting her.
'Please know I never meant to hurt you and I won't do it again.'
She nodded, 'I know.'
I kneeled by her, softly laying my finger on her cut that was still bleeding. 'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.'
'It's okay, I know you are.'
'Not it's not okay.' I grabbed onto her hands tightly, looking into her wet eyes. She'd been crying and it was my fault. 'I was trying so hard to look for my friends and I never was a good boyfriend to you in the process.'
'You're doing the right thing, you know? This is really important.'
'But Y/N, you're important to me too. I've been so wrapped up in all of this and forgot to appreciate that you're still with me. I'm truly sorry for that.'
Y/N nodded, wrapping her arms around me for a hug. 'I know it was a mistake. It just... just scared me a little that's all.'
'I'll be careful, okay? I promise, I promise.' I sniffled, wiping my tears away as I gave her a hug back. 'I love you, Y/N.'

Oh, Hello There
Pairings: Finn Collins x Reader
Warnings: none
Summary: you find Finn’s “art store” (the hidden bunker) but neither of you know that the other knows about it until you run into each other there.
Notes: I haven’t watched the first season of The 100 in a while so I don’t have the clearest memory of when the events took place. The gif isn’t mine.
Masterlist ~ Prompt/Request
Tumblr media
The moon shone brightly through the trees as you put on your shoes and slipped out of your tent inside of the walls near the drop ship. You were thankful for it since you had no flashlight and not very well experienced with the terrain just yet.
You had had an extremely stressful day with the rising tensions between all of the 100. Multiple fights had broken out that day and you, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, had accidentally ended up in the middle of one of them. So you thought that you deserved a bit of a break from everyone else.
You had discovered the hidden bunker about a week before the whole Murphy incident. It was completely by accident and had happened when you were out hunting for food. But you were very thankful that you had found it.
You weren’t the most talkative person and normally stuck to behind the scenes work. You helped Clarke deal with people’s injuries a lot and you often volunteered yourself to Bellamy for hunting trips or explorations, but you knew that neither of them knew your name. You were actually pretty sure that almost nobody in camp knew who you were, but that was alright, you liked it that way because it made sneaking away for some time alone so much easier.
Now you quietly crept through camp and over the wall using the ladder that you had built and kept hidden for moments like these. Once you reached the top, you jumped over to the ground on the other side, landing lightly on your toes.
You walked through the trees, following the very subtle marks that you had made to lead you back to the bunker. They were unnoticeable unless you knew they were there and if you were looking for them, and of course, you were.
Finally, you reached the bunker and quietly slipped in. Once you were inside and had closed the door tightly, you lit a candle and then found a small bottle of some sort of alcohol. You popped it open and poured yourself a glass from one of the cupboards. Then you sat down at the table with a book that you had found and were now about a quarter of the way through.
You had been reading and just chilling out in general for about an hour when you heard the door start to creak. You weren’t sure if it was just the wind but you snuffed out the candle and put everything as it was before anyways. You grabbed your knife and hid in a dark corner, ready for a grounder or someone to come in ready to kill you.
You heard the door open and somebody step inside and move towards where you were but you didn’t think they had seen you yet. Then the area was flooded with light from a lantern causing you to shield your eyes.
“AH!” The person screamed and jumped back, knocking into the table. “Please don’t kill me! I didn’t know anyone was here! I promise!” It was only then that you kind of recognized the voice and you looked up to see Finn with his arms over his head protectively and watching you from a little space in between.
“Y/n?” He asked when he could see who it was.
“Finn? What are you doing here?” You asked gesturing to the room.
“I could ask you the same thing. But how about you put the knife down and then we can talk” Finn said warily as he watched the knife in your hand closely.
“Oh right yeah sorry” You put the knife back into its sheath and then pulled out the chair at the table to sit down. “So what are you doing here? How did you find this place?”
“Probably the same way as you: by accident.”
“Yeah... I found this place when I was out on a hunting trip a couple of weeks ago. I had gotten lost and couldn’t find my way back to camp. Thank goodness nobody noticed that I was gone though, they would have wanted to know where I’d been.”
“I noticed.” Finn stated simply.
“What?” You asked with a bit of furrow in your brow.
“I noticed that you were gone. You didn’t come back that night, I was worried that you’d been captured by Grounders.”
“Why didn’t you do anything then?” Finn flinched slightly at your tone. You hadn’t meant to sound accusatory, you were honestly just curious. You were very used to people not noticing you and not following through with things for you, so him not doing anything about it really didn’t worry you.
“I did. Jasper and I went out that night to look for you, but by the time we got back to camp the next morning you were already back. I meant to talk to you about it, but then everything with Murphy and Charlotte happened.” He looked up at you through his long lashes that you loved so much. Even on the Arc you had had a thing for him, but you always knew that he liked Raven and Clarke, so you were pretty happy just being friends.
“Oh, I didn’t know that. Thank you, you’re probably the only person on camp who noticed,” You smiled at him.
“You’d be surprised. People may not have noticed that you were gone, but they definitely noticed that there wasn’t as much food and that it wasn’t as good. I’m sorry, that sounded rude, I promise I didn’t mean it that way.” He said quickly and grew a little bit red in the cheeks.
“It’s okay,” You laughed. “It really doesn’t bother me. I’m just glad that I’m a better hunter than Laura and Harry (made up people). So why are you here at this time of night?”
“I don’t know, I just came to get away from everyone for a bit, camp has been really rough lately. What about you?”
“Same deal, tensions have been running really high. I just needed a break to get my nerves under control. How long are you planning on staying here?” You asked but then added quickly, “It’s not that I want you to leave, you can come and go whenever you want, I don’t really care.”
Now it was Finn’s turn to laugh, “Don’t worry y/n, I know what you mean. I was thinking about staying all night and then going back right before everyone wakes up. You’re welcome to stay if you’d like.”
“If you don’t mind, I think I’ll take you up on that offer,” you smiled at him warmly. The two of you sat talking for pretty much the entire night until you were both yawning and your sentences slowly became more sleepy.
“I think... I think we should probably catch some sleep,” Finn suggested.
“I agree, you can take the bed, I’ll sleep on the couch...” but when you looked back at him he had already slumped over on the couch and was absolutely passed out. You chuckled under your breath and situated him so that he was laying down properly and put a blanket over him.
“Good night Finn,” you whispered and then lay down on the bed facing the wall. Before, you had thought that it would be awful if somebody else found this bunker and it would no longer be your ‘sacred’ place. But now that you and Finn had stumbled across each other, you were actually glad that you were able to share this space with someone who you knew you would become very good friends with. And maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if people knew you, maybe it would make this dangerous world just a little more welcoming.

Even though twins may look exactly alike most of the time they are polar opposites. Despite the completely opposite personalities a piece of them resides in the other. No matter how different they are they will always be alike in more way than one. Before the world went to crap in radiation and people killed the planet they had things like switched at birth and separated at birth. You would think in what is supposed to be a Utopian civilization, how could these things happen. They don’t, right?

Second Children - Octavia Blake x Finn Collins!Sister!Reader Soulmate au
Could you please do an imagine where basically everything is the same but it’s a soulmate au with Octavia Blake? Like you have your soulmates first words to you written on your wrist. And the reader is also a second child and is Finn Collins younger sister?
You'd spent the majority of your life locked away and hidden in your families' room. Your existence hidden from everyone but your brother and his childhood friend, later on girlfriend Raven.
That was until Finn covered for Raven and went to the Skybox whilst you were also caught being thrown into the Skybox as well, leaving Raven all alone.
You'd spent months in the Skybox staring at your wrist and the words written on them. Finn always told you stories about soulmates, Raven didnt believe in them as much since Finn didnt have a soulmark like you and she did. But he didnt let it bother him. He loved the two of you either way.
Everything was a blur as the guards walked into your room. Next thing you knew you were strapped into a chair surrounded by other delinquents such as yourself. Chancellor Jaha's voice droning before you heard a familar voice.
"Guess your father floated me afterall Jaha."
"Finn?" You shouted but the impact of the drop ship landing and your brother going flying left your call unanswered.
"Listen. No machine hum." A voice stated as you opened your eyes, unclipping your seatbelt.
"That's a first."
You groaned as you were pushed and shoved as everyone went for the door. You could hear yelling as you slipped down the ladder. "Finn? Where are you?" You called before someone hugged you from behind.
"Hi little one." Finn whispered into your hair as the shouting continued.
"But nobody has a brother!" Someone shouted causing you and Finn to chuckle, watching the ongoing scenes as the dropship door opened and sunlight flooded in.
"We're back bitches!" A girl shouted as everyone flooded out the dropship to celebrate. You automatically began to explore, sticking close to your brother as fights began to break out.
"Hey spacewalker, rescue me next." The girl from before requested causing you to roll your eyes before Finn grabbed you, a kid with goggles and another kid over to a blonde girl he kept calling princess.
"5 of us." Your brother replied causing you to raise an eyebrow.
"Sounds like a party, make it 6." The girl who you now knew as Octavia Blake, another second child as her brother tried to interfere in her plans.
You stopped paying attention as the 6 of you began the long walk to Mt Weather. You watching Octavia dance around as your brother tried to flirt.
"I gotta know what you two did to get busted." Finn asked to Monty and Jasper.
Great, one treason, one illegal space walk, two illegal substance holders and two second children. What a bunch.
You rolled your eyes as you walked past your brother and everyone else causing him to shout out. "Dont go too far little one. Watch out for any more two-headed deer!" Causing you to just turn around giving him a look.
"Little one? Really i said spacewalker is mine." Octavia glared at you causing you to pause.
"You're not the only one who was arrested for existing you know." You replied, sarcastically before Octavia stopped, grabbing your wrist without your wristband on. You winced at the grip on your wrist as your sleeve was tugged up revealing your soulmark.
"Little one? Really I said spacewalker is mine." Causing Octavia to pull her own sleeve up to show you.
"You're not the only one who was arrested for existing you know."
"Oh my god." You mumbled, the look on your face causing your brother to come over.
"What? Oh... Looks like my little sister found her soulmate..." Finn grinned as Octavia stared at you
"Soulmate. You're a second child too? Octavia asked causing you to nod, looking at the ground.
"Come on... Lets go for a swim soulmate..." Octavia grinned dragging you to the cliffs.
"But we can't swim." You replied, slightly afraid of drowning as you stared into the murky water.
"I know. But we can stand." Octavia smirked as she saw your blush at her taking her clothes off.
Looks like your time on the ground just got a lot more interesting.
