I remember seeing a yt vid of compilation of raiden and and sindel intros, in which op is believing that sindel approves and raitana would be an endgame. It was a bit of a reach but it's still a fun video yk? However, what rubs me the wrong way is that the OP (a white man) said "kitana is asian/southeast asian, she likes raiden too but she's playing hard to get. I know because my wife is southeast asian and she was like that." with his whole chest. I'm southeast asian born & raised, so you could guess the stank face I made reading that comment could rival sindel's upon seeing shang tsung's lab. This man tried spreading the raitana agenda, but if anything, his passport-bro self had succesfully turning me away from this barely budding ship.

I think I remember seeing that. Just looked up passport bro, and I have definitely seen that kind of mentality on the internet. What a bunch of creeps. Unfortunately, it's not the first time I've seen dudes get weird about Kitana being East Asian (and more recently SEA) coded.

Kitana has a lot of suggestive intros with Johnny Cage, many of them in which she rebuffs his advances. The ones that start with her do kinda sound like she's playing hard to get, or at least baiting him because it's funny to see how far he can shove his throat into his mouth. She sounds much less amused when Johnny leads. He must've crossed a line at some point, because Kitana's final answer is no, expressed as a slap on the face.

She doesn't seem to even see Raiden as a potential partner. Though she admires his virtues as a person, she calls his crush "sweet but unwelcome" like he's a cherubic younger neighbor entirely naive to matters of the heart.

So far, the only canon ship for Kitana is Kitana x Singleness x Loving it.

ok ok, listen. I am gonna be straight with you. I am not a Patholic nerd and I really like the game. it has one of the most extraordinary stories/lore, plus its gloomy aesthetic is just my shit. but as a local Khalkh Mongolian, I very much dislike the herb bride designs. they have no inspiration from the cultures they are supposed to vaguely resemble, like literally nothing. i am a visual type of person and love it, ADORE it when shit is pretty to look at, it's in my blood. instead they opted for looking like straight-up savage unevolved cartoon cavewomen with skimpy outfits and foliage in their hair for good measure.

they look so out of place here, which you could argue its intentional but cmonnn???

here’s my take on how they could have looked like or at least what kind of things the devs missed out on:

edit: This post’s main point is not about restricting the nudity or the creative liberty i am only saying they should have approached this aspect from a different perspective with a native eyes on the IPL development team. It may have came off that way because i used the word boobage huh?

I find the video of Misha being in the impala hilarious but there's something about it that really icks me. In particular, the fact he's reading the Busty Asian Beauties mag as I find Asian fetishism in the show to be portrayed as extremely offensive. I've seen that these jokes have always been criticised on the show on twitter but it has always been a big problem on the show as it not only normalises this treatment but it makes Asian women come across as objects of desire when they are far from it.

This has caused the show to develop very racist undertones and it's just gross to see. I get Misha was trying to emulate one of Dean's character traits here but I find this part of Dean to be extremely off-putting. Fetishism as a whole in the show is very offensive and Dean's consumption on it just makes it worse. I love Dean. I really do but the fact he reads this and keeps it in the trunk of his car not only makes him out to be a sleezeball but a little bit sexist too. I love the show with all my heart but subjects like racism and sexism need to be addressed more carefully.

I hope that in the inevitable revival, that this gets dropped out of the show entirely as it has gotten to the point where fetishism jokes are getting frowned upon. I hate it and I hope the show learns its lesson from this.
