hey! this is chance & here’s the prompt for week 6. what are your oc's bedrooms like? messy? neat? carefully designed? or a collection of their favorite things? you can verbally describe or use photos, whatever you think is best.

Cecil's bedroom is meticulously organized - everything has a home, and he has an almost photographic memory of what things ought to look like. This makes it easy to spot when something is out of place, even if it's not immediately obvious. Cecil doesn't spend much time in his room, so its rather plain. The left half of the room has barely been touched in years - since that was Bernadette's side of the room. He has kept it in the state it was in when she left, creating a sort of alter to her in his memories and physical space. He gets very upset if anyone touches anything there. (Bernadette is technically still his wife, legally, but she left after Leland was born because she didn't like the domestic life and Cecil NEVER recovered. He tried to find her but hasn't been able to.)

Cassedy's bedroom is a mess. Books, mostly. Lots of books. He often takes home entire boxes of bargain-bin books, even if they're not of great quality he still enjoys them. His bed is a little island in a sea of boxes and piles of books. One of his piles is notebooks where he's written ideas for his own story, interspersed with journaling and complaining about how shit sucks. His closet maintains some cleanliness mostly because he doesn't have much in the way of clothes - seven button-ups, seven pairs of pants, and then a couple sweater-vests. But he also keeps other keepsakes in there, like the two photos of himself that he has, from a picture of the kids & staff of his orphanage and a picture of his battalion in WW1 respectively. He also falls into the familiar trap of having a growing collection of dirty dishes in his room that he has to clean up every week or two, because sometimes he sits down for dinner in his bed and is too tired or in too much pain to get up to wash the dishes afterwards.

Felix is an edgy little man who sleeps in a coffin and has an honest-to-god shrine to Cassedy in his room. 'Nuff said.

I spent the afternoon grilling and eating with my great friends Khigh Abner, Felix Merback and Max David Weinberg; my classmates and fellow thespians from the Brian Cutler Actors Studio. A great time had by all on this very important day of celebration. Independence Day commemorates the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. We ate prime ribeye steaks, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and enjoyed a variety of sides and beverages.

Though they dig into Sheol,  from there shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven,  from there I will bring them down. New Testament Lesson: Acts 23:12-35

In the morning the Jews joined in a conspiracy and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink until they had killed Paul. There were more than forty who joined in this conspiracy. They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food until we have killed Paul. Now then, you and the council must notify the tribune to bring him down to you, on the pretext that you want to make a more thorough examination of his case. And we are ready to do away with him before he arrives.”

Now the son of Paul's sister heard about the ambush; so he went and gained entrance to the barracks and told Paul. Paul called one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the tribune, for he has something to report to him.” So he took him, brought him to the tribune, and said, “The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you; he has something to tell you.” The tribune took him by the hand, drew him aside privately, and asked, “What is it that you have to report to me?” He answered, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire more thoroughly into his case. But do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of their men are lying in ambush for him. They have bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink until they kill him. They are ready now and are waiting for your consent.” So the tribune dismissed the young man, ordering him, “Tell no one that you have informed me of this.”

Then he summoned two of the centurions and said, “Get ready to leave by nine o'clock tonight for Caesarea with two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen. Also provide mounts for Paul to ride, and take him safely to Felix the governor.” He wrote a letter to this effect:

“Claudius Lysias to his Excellency the governor Felix, greetings. This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them, but when I had learned that he was a Roman citizen, I came with the guard and rescued him. Since I wanted to know the charge for which they accused him, I had him brought to their council. I found that he was accused concerning questions of their law, but was charged with nothing deserving death or imprisonment. When I was informed that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, ordering his accusers also to state before you what they have against him.”

So the soldiers, according to their instructions, took Paul and brought him during the night to Antipatris. The next day they let the horsemen go on with him, while they returned to the barracks. When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul also before him. On reading the letter, he asked what province he belonged to, and when he learned that he was from Cilicia, he said, “I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive.” Then he ordered that he be kept under guard in Herod's headquarters.

hey!! this is chance and here’s week 5’s prompt. your oc suddenly gets transported to a mall. what store(s) would they go in? would they buy anything? what would they think? tell me about the experience.

For the sake of convenience, I'm going to imagine them getting transported to a 1920's shopping centre. Characters being transported out of their canon time frame isn't enjoyable for me. I'm also skipping any characters I think wouldn't have very interesting insights/experiences.

Cassedy wouldn't buy anything (he can't afford it lol) but he would definitely just. Stare. He'd go into the up-class stores and imagine being able to afford the clothes and jewellery and things like that. And, if he was able to, try things on to see how they might look. He might get a lil tired from all the walking, but assuming he had his cane and could take breaks, I think he would enjoy the experience. He likes getting to see the richer side of things.

Eloise already regularly goes to shopping centres with her friends. She would definitely buy things, but she still tries to avoid overspending. After all, she doesn't have a whole tonne of money. Generally though its a fun social outing for her. Although there is an additional layer of her essentially acting the whole time - she has to keep up appearances to her friends, and endure their "well meaning" advice about her body and appearance. So it's not all great.

Felix would HATE a shopping centre. Loud, crowded, and full of people who probably wouldn't react well to his face (he has a disorder that caused half his face to become "sunken in" as it were, he has no subq fat, its called Parry-Romberg Syndrome). If he was, for some reason, forced to stay in one he would probably have a meltdown and try to hide somewhere, probably in a bathroom or a janitor's closet.

That's all I could think of off the top of my head.

While at the pub/boarding house, Jackson Elias explained his proposition to Jay and Chesterton. Under the cover of an assumed identity, Elias reached out to Augustus Larkin, who was recruiting adventurous people to explore a system of caves that spans New England. The purpose of the caves is undetermined (if there is one at all), so Larkin is gathering a group of people to study a part of the network near South Woodstock, Vermont, and to gather whatever they can find for study or sale or whatever. Elias isn’t completely interested in the cave system but instead wants to research the Wendigo myth in Native Algonquin history. As Elias explained it, Wendigo are spirits that possess the bodies of people, driving them mad with hunger for human flesh and avarice. While Elias give any credence to the myth, wounds inflicted in recent murders in Vermont South Woodstock match those described in old Wendigo myths. Elias, in need of potential help researching or other forms of assistance, is looking for help.

As Elias pitched the job to Chesterton and Jay, Felix, someone Elias seeks for assistance when fast talk and falsified documents are needed, walked in the door. Felix introduced himself to Chesterton and Jay and asked if the two current party members were “feds or pricks.” Satisfied with their denial, Felix accepted the job and the three agreed to meet Elias in Burlington at a later date while they shopped in Arkham for incidentals. The group retired for the evening but not before Felix burglarized a drunk man’s room, taking period appropriate clothes for Chesterton and Jay.

In the morning Chesterton, Jay, and Felix went to Unconsidered Trifles at the suggestion of the bartender/boarding house manager. There, Jay and Chesterton saw a surprisingly familiar person - the owner, Abner Wick, looking exactly the same as when they saw him in 2020. However, Wick seemed to not remember either of them.

Wick asked if the party was from out of town. When they answered yes, wick asked if they were traveling with a shoeless young boy named Joe, about 8 or 9, who stopped by the shop to ask for Albert Gist’s address. Jay recognized the description of Joe from Father Yig’s prophetic messaging while Chesterton recognized the name “Gist” as his mother’s maiden name and the name of his family’s historic family property. When Chesterton asked where he and his friends might procure means to protect themselves on a trip up north for the low cost of free (as he and Jay realized that they have no money in the year 1924), Wick made them a deal: each party member could get some kind of weaponry if they brought back whatever they could muster from the caves, which Wick would purchase at a fair price. Felix took a torch, Chesterton took a bullwhip (and matching hat), and Jay took a machete.

Later, Felix forged a receipt of sale for 3 9mm handguns from Smith, West & Sons, a gun store. Confident in his work, Felix swindled the shopkeep out of the weapons as well as some ammunition. After the “sale” was complete, the trio agreed to find Albert Gist’s house so Jay could meet his destiny.

Fernando Reis conquista o tri pan-americano no levantamento de peso

Os Jogos Pan-Americanos de Lima estão a todo vapor e o Brasil segue conquistando medalhas. Foram medalhas na ginástica artística, levantamento de peso, boliche, vôlei de praia, boxe e tiro esportivo. E outras ainda poderão vir no boxe, em lutas de Hebert da Conceição, Iasmin Ferreira e Flávia Figueiredo, programadas para a noite de terça-feira (30). Além disso, o handebol feminino já garantiu uma medalha, resta saber só a cor. A definição virá na final contra a Argentina, às 22h30.

Até agora, o Brasil já conquistou 34 medalhas; 10 de ouro, 8 de prata e 16 de bronze. O Brasil ocupa o 3º lugar no quadro de medalhas, está atrás de Estados Unidos (64) e México(43). Ouro no Levantamento de peso

Fernando Reis conquistou o tri pan-americano no levantamento de peso. Com uma performance impecável, Reis somou 420 quilos levantados, somando o arranco e o arremesso, e garantiu com folga a medalha de ouro. Muito superior aos seus adversários, ele levantou 21 quilos a mais que o segundo colocado, o cubano Luis Manuel Lauret, com 399 quilos.

Reis foi para sua última tentativa com o ouro já garantido e levantou 230 quilos, algo que nenhum dos demais atletas chegou perto de levantar. Ao confirmar o levantamento, o brasileiro arrancou aplausos do público no Coliseu Mariscal Cáceres, em Lima. Ouro na Ginástica artística

O ginasta Chico Barretto ganhou a medalha de ouro no cavalo com alças, na tarde de hoje. O brasileiro recebeu a maior nota dos oito atletas da final do aparelho. Obteve 13.533 pontos. Completam o pódio o estadunidense Robert Neff, com 13.466 pontos, e o colombiano Carlos Alberto Calvo, com 13.233.

Arthur Zanetti ficou com a medalha de prata nas argolas, prova da qual é o atual campeão olímpico. Ele conseguiu 14.400 pontos, ficando atrás do mexicano Fabian de Luna, que fez 14.500 pontos. Zanetti teve uma boa performance, mas cometeu um pequeno erro e perdeu pontos importantes, que poderiam garantir a medalha de ouro. O bronze ficou para o argentino Federico Martin Molinari, com 14.066 pontos. Considerado favorito ao ouro, o brasileiro não escondeu sua decepção com a prata. Na mesma prova, Caio Souza ficou em quarto lugar.

Nas barras assimétricas, Lorranne Oliveira ficou em quarto lugar, com 13.833 pontos. A brasileira perdeu o bronze por pouco mais de 100 pontos. A terceira colocada, a canadense Elisabeth Ann Black, fez 14.000 pontos. Na mesma prova, Caroline Pedro ficou em sétimo, com 12.766 pontos. Prata no Boliche

Marcelo Stuartz ficou com a medalha de prata ao perder na final para o estadunidense Nicholas Pate. A vitória brasileira não veio por muito pouco. Pate terminou a partida com 190 pontos e Stuartz com 189.

Bronze no Vôlei de praia

Ângela Rebouças e Carol Horta conquistaram a medalha de bronze no vôlei de praia, na tarde de hoje. Elas venceram as cubanas Maylen Delís e Leila Martínez por 2 sets a 0, em uma partida bastante disputada.

Depois de um início de primeiro set ruim, as cubanas se recuperaram e passaram a frente da dupla brasileira. Ângela e Carol, porém, tiveram força para tirar os pontos e viraram na reta final do set, quando chegaram aos 16 pontos. As cubanas tentaram uma nova virada, mas Carol explorou o bloqueio e fechou o set: 21 a 19.

O segundo set foi ainda mais equilibrado. Era ponto lá, ponto cá e ninguém desgarrava no placar. A dupla brasileira garantiu o bronze após uma jogada de contra-ataque de Carol, novamente explorando o bloqueio cubano. Bronze no Boxe

Abner Teixeira perdeu a semifinal da categoria pesado até 91 kg para o cubano Erislandy Cotilla. Com a derrota, ele garante a medalha de bronze. Os dois lutadores fizeram um combate equilibrado. Mais ágil, Abner foi bastante eficiente nas esquivas mas, o cubano, mais alto e com maior envergadura, conectou mais golpes.

Já Jucielen Romeu garantiu vaga na final do peso galo feminino após vencer a estadunidense Yarisel Ramirez, por decisão unânime dos juízes. A brasileira venceu os três rounds e enfrentará a argentina Leonela Sanchez. Keno Marley Machado também chegou à final, após vencer o mexicano Rogelio Torres, por decisão unânime dos juízes, na categoria semipesado (até 81 kg). Jucielen e Keno entram no ringue novamente, para a disputa do ouro, na próxima quinta-feira (1º). Bronze no Tiro esportivo

Robert Schmits ganhou a medalha de bronze ao disputar a final da fossa olímpica. Ele fez 32 pontos, atrás dos estadunidenses Brian Burrows, com 43, e Derek Haldeman, com 40. Esse é o segundo bronze do Brasil no tiro esportivo. Júlio Almeida havia conquistado a sua medalha na categoria pistola de ar 10 metros.

O dia também foi bom para o Brasil no tênis. Na segunda rodada do torneio de duplas masculino, João Menezes e Thiago Wild venceram a dupla da Guatemala, Wilfredo Gonzalez e Stefan Gonzalez, por 2 sets a 0, parciais de 6 a 1 e 6 a 4.

Wild também venceu no torneio de simples. A vitória, pela segunda rodada, veio em cima de Kevin King, dos Estados Unidos, por 2 sets a 0, parciais de 6 a 4 e 6 a 2.

Pela primeira rodada do torneio individual feminino, Luisa Stefani venceu a mexicana Giuliana Olmos por 2 sets a 1, parciais de 6 a 2 para a brasileira, 7 a 6 para a mexicana e 6 a 2 para a brasileira no desempate.

Já Carolina Meligeni venceu a canadense Rebecca Marino de virada. O primeiro set foi da canadense, 7 a 4. Os outros dois foram de Carolina, ambos por 6 a 4. Handebol

A seleção brasileira feminina disputa a final hoje, contra a Argentina. Após uma vitória incontestável na semifinal, quando venceu os Estados Unidos por 34 a 9, as brasileiras jogam pelo ouro às 22h30.
