I'm doing a series of "Best Character Named X" polls where all the characters have the same first name but are from completely different media, feel free to send in name/charcacter suggestions, I'm posting one poll a day. New polls scheduled for 1:30PM GMT everyday.
ask box closed for now
WILL BE POSTING POLLS ON @best-character-named-x-poll FROM FEB 1ST
If your favourite character is not included in the poll very sorry i have either never heard of them or actively chose not to include them as theres only 6 characters per poll. Characters will only count of that is their first name, surnames do not count.
*subject to change, you can still submit a character if there is no strikethrough if you think theres a character that its an absolute crime i dont add. Please don't suggest anything for the names with a strikethrough as they are polls that are already in my queue waiting to be published.

The Canon Muse List of Of Darkest Desires and Darkest Desires Erotica
So many people have been asking about this...for years now. I specifically don't list the canon characters that I write for because that list is lengthy, and changes with the wind and my personal muse. However, since it is a new year, I suppose it's time we did a full canon character list for this blog. And, as an added note, I will also add at the end of each section notable OC muses that belong to these specific worlds.
Quick key before we get to the list, though: if a character is one of my favorites, they will be bolded and colored. If a character can be written genderswapped, they will be italicized. If a character is written non-canonically, they will be struck-through.
DC Comics: Bruce Wayne (Batman), Dick Greyson (Nightwing), Jason Todd (Red Hood), Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Clark Kent (Superman), Lois Lane, Supergirl, Powergirl, Starfire, Blackfire, Rachel Roth (Raven), Princess Diana (Wonderwoman), Darkseid, Aquaman

Alright it’s time Critical Role Campaign 3 Episode 1 Thoughts:
-Oh God it makes me so happy to see them back at the table together
-that ad was surprisingly normal... is sam okay?
-ah there it is
-not gonna lie... that was actually kinda catchy
-sorry matt it’s a thing now
-european store? great news for us... not so great news for our wallets...
-starting at level 3... so everyone should have their subclass already... cool
-imogen, human, sorcerer for laura
-laudna, warlock/sorcerer, for marisha ...looks like a vampire?
-security camera birds... that’s cool
-ahh bureaucracy... good thing beau isn’t here. she would have punched that woman in the face already... and she would have deserved it
-read thoughts? abberant mind sorcerer maybe?
-okay laudna is great
-ashton, earth-genasi, barbarian for taliesin
-ashton is a mood
-Fresh Cut Grass, Warforged? cleric for sam...
-robbie?!?
-oh my gods it’s the Ash Holes!!!!! yes i know they decided on crown keepers but i like ash holes more
-i’m kinda sad that opal isn’t with them... she was my favourite
-dorian is clapping for the pilot... that immediately makes him my least favourite character in all of critical role... WHY DO PEOPLE DO THAT?!?
-wait didn’t aabria give them like a billion platinum? and several super strong magic items? that seems like a real problem for balancing
-wasn’t he still wearing the earring? how did fearne do that?!? i had someone rip off an earring once and belive me you would notice that... it hurts... and bleeds... like a lot!!!
-okay they’re fighting furniture now... BEAUTY AND THE BEAST PROTOCOL EVERYONE!!! yes that’s a Oxventure reference
-channel divinity: sympathetic binding? so F.C.G. is a homebrew subclass?
-WHAT THE FUCK MARISHA?!?
-feels wierd to have someone rage without travis cheering them on
-gravity build? ashton is homebrew too?
-travis is here!!!!
-so travis is... just some old dude?... he didn’t even get a character portrait
-a spiritual tomato... never change sam... never change
-”I’m gonna fuck the rug” - marisha ray 2021
-F.C.G. can take the damage for his teammates? that reminds me of my Oath of Matyrdom Paladin
-bertrand is level 5? So he’s probably just temporary right?
-okay lisa just told me that Bertrand is from some one-shot from Campaign 1 but apparently he was level 18 in that... confusing
-SAM!!!! just... why?
-INSIGHT CHECK!!!! Oh i’ve missed that
-and he stole the fucking earring! AND GOT PAID FOR IT!!!
-We’re only at the break now?!?
-i just love these first party meetings everyone is always so awkward and mistrusting at first
-lisa just cheered when marisha said that Laudna is from whitestone
-wow travis is really trying to make this guy every stereotypical old person ever huh?
-orym seems like he’s already regretting everything
-so dorian basically just went: “anyway here’s wonderwall”
-this is already so much chaos! and we’re only in episode 1
-you know i never thought about if warforged need to take a shit
-okay apparently they don’t... they just vomit out what they can’t process
-what a fucking cliffhanger
Final Thoughts: What the Fuck! i was not ready for any of that. these characters are great. I do feel like bertrand and maybe the Ash Holes aren’t going to be permanent members of the party though... Imogen seems genuinly nice which is rare for DnD characters, F.C.G. is... well... sam..., Ashton is really cool and i really wanna know what laudnas whole deal is she’s my favourite so far. anyway i already can’t wait for the next episode

MAYBE a very dumb Q, but for panel shows I've only ever watched 8OO10C does countdown, or Big Fat Quiz Of the Year. Do you have any suggestions for panel shows to get into after these, or even specific episodes? ; o ;
hey cutie!! this question is NOT dumb you are a caterpillar becoming a beautiful butterfly and what more can i ask?? if you really like those series and you consider yourself somewhat of a panel show beginner, i’m going to recommend an episode from a number of panel shows so you can see what you like. highest recs are at the top; i tried to determine this based on both 1) comedy but also 2) accessibility, because i’m not sure where you live and how familiar you are with british culture and politics. so give these a crack:
would i lie to you? — 6.06 (rob brydon, david mitchell, lee mack, greg davies, richard osman, patsy kesnit, bob mortimer)
taskmaster — 4.01 (greg davies, alex horne, hugh dennis, joe lycett, lolly adefope, mel giedroyc, noel fielding)
qi — g.10 (stephen fry, alan davies, jo brand, david mitchell, sean lock)
never mind the buzzcocks — 22.12 (simon amstell, bill bailey, phill jupitus, josh groban, martin freeman, heston blumenthal, grant nicholas)
was it something i said? — 1.01 (david mitchell, richard ayoade, micky flanagan, charlie higson, jimmy carr)
duck quacks don’t echo — 5.03 (lee mack, joe lycett, claudia winkleman, johnny vegas)
insert name here — 2.04 (sue perkins, richard osman, josh widdicombe, james acaster, suzannah lipscomb, rob beckett, steph mcgovern)
8 out of 10 cats — 17.03 (jimmy carr, sean lock, jon richardson, roisin conaty, jerry springer, jack dee, example)
mock the week — 17.05 (dara ó briain, hugh dennis, tom allen, james acaster, ed byrne, kerry godliman, tez ilyas)
celebrity juice — 19.10 (keith lemon, fearne cotton, holly willoughby, iain sterling, caroline flack, lisa stansfield, joel dommett, mark wright)
there are more panel shows, but this is a good start for you. let us know what you end up enjoying! and feel free to msg me sometime and we can talk more in-depth about recs x
National Literacy Trust, of which The Duchess of Cornwall is patron, research shows that children who enjoy reading are three times more likely to have good mental wellbeing than children who don’t enjoy reading.
The report, based on a survey of almost 50,000 UK school children aged 8 to 18, found that:
Children who are the most engaged with reading and writing are much happier with their lives than children who are the least engaged
As children transition from primary to secondary school, their levels of literacy engagement and mental wellbeing both decline and continue on this downward path
Boys who are the most engaged with reading and writing have higher levels of mental wellbeing than girls who are engaged
We have worked with children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, of which The Duchess of Cambridge is patron of, to develop a series of free wellbeing-themed teaching resources for primary schools, secondary schools and parents.
The resources include:
Primary schools
A wellbeing assembly PowerPoint
Teachers' notes to help you deliver the assembly
A book list with titles for children organised in age ranges 0-3, 3-5, 5-7 and 7-11, including:
Yoga Babies by Fearne Cotton
Me and My Fear by Francesca Sanna
The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson
Secondary schools
A wellbeing assembly PowerPoint
Teachers' notes to help you deliver the assembly
A book list including titles for children which includes young adult titles, including:
Wonder by R J Palacio
Mind Your Head by Juno Dawson
Blame My Brain by Nicola Morgan
Parents
Top tips for parents to help their children have a happy and healthy outlook on life
A book list with books for all ages including very young children

thanks to CepeSmith for the find, will be interesting if Kate and Camilla do something together for this
this is so hard because half of my favorite performers are british and half are american and I guess there has been mixes like that in the past… I’ll just say it.
Elphaba: I WANT ALICE FEARN TO STAY ELPHABA FOREVER AND EVER
Glinda: okay okay this is probs the only part where I legit have a cast wish. I would LOVE for either Betsy Wolfe, Denée Benton or Lisa O’Hare to play Glinda. Any of them would be incredible.
Nessa: THERE IS ONLY CATHERINE CHARLEBOIS. SHE IS NESSAROSE THROPP MY BEAUTIFUL PINK BITCH.
Boq: Robin de Jesus. I don’t really have a wish for anyone else, he’s perfect, though I love most Boqs.
Wizard of Oz: you know it’s one of those roles that has never really clicked with me and I don’t think I even have a favorite Wizard, much less one I’d like to see. I don’t mind the ones I’ve seen live, I enjoy the performance but I don’t think I have a dream Wizard.
Dillamond: my favorite Dillamond, K. Todd Freeman. Dillamond used to also be one of those parts that I was meh about until I heard him. He was incredible.
Madame Morrible: the love of my life actual angel Melanie La Barrie!!!!! Especially with Alice as Elphie, she has very good stage chemistry with her.
Yero my hero: Bradley Jaden is the only one I love.
