~ Lupin thinks it’s so endearing how you put others needs before your own. Him and the gang can be the complete opposite at times, caring more about themselves. So he finds it so cute how you go out of your way to help others.

“Hey (name)! ‘What am I doing’? The dishes. Lemme guess, you wanna help? Sure! Thanks cutie.~”

~ He tends to let you do your thing most of the time. It makes you happy to help, so why stop you? He doesn’t complain when you want to help him either. In fact, he’s all for it! Less work for him!

“Pops just wouldn’t let up today! He caused us so much trouble. We got pretty roughed up. Even ripped my coat pretty bad.”

“I can sew it up for you!”

“Really? Aww, thanks (name)! You’re a gem!”

~ However, if you start to not may enough attention to yourself, that’s where he draws the line. Putting your own health behind others isn’t okay. He’ll switch roles on you; making himself do everything for you. You’re not allowed to complain either!

“This is the fifth time in a row you’ve done the laundry. We’re supposed to take turns! I’m doing it this time.”

“Oh no, that’s okay-“

“Nope! You’re obviously tired today. You go relax, I’ll take care of this.”

~ Lupin is a sneaky guy. So he can trick you into relaxing without you realizing it! He’ll ask you to help him with something, and tell you to wait on the couch for him. You’ll lay down, and he won’t come back. It’ll take at least thirty minutes to realize you’ve been bamboozled. He always promises he won’t do it again, but we both know he’s a big fat liar…

~ Some people may try to take advantage of the fact that you’re a people pleaser. It’s hard to come to the fact that they’re using you, because you just want to help. But Lupin is smart. He knows people’s true intentions. So he’ll lead you away from them, not telling you exactly why as to not hurt your feelings. He won’t let your kindness be taken advantage of!

“They need help again? Oh, I’m sure they’ll be fine on their own! C’mon babe, I actually have something we can do together!”

~ Lupin is constantly reminding you that you don’t need to help all the time to be liked. He loves you no matter what! He lets you know that it’s okay to relax, and to ask for help for yourself.

Okay!!! I got Lupin OCs!!! Here's one!

Be for warned, Long Post!

Yes, her name is spelled that way and she changed it to be so! Her actual name is Bonnie Anne (Some last name that relates her to an Infamous Arms Dealer in the black market).

Her whole deal is that, she was at one of Lupin's Heists, a big party where all the Fat Cats are gathered to do business and exchanges the Goods.

When she first saw Lupin making his getaway (goods in hand), she immediately crushes on him!

Her story is a work in progress, and so is her color pallet, but the jist is that, she is trying to discorver True Happiness and to keep far away from her father as much as possible. So when she saw Lupin III himself, she felt something! Not sure what it was, but because of this feeling she devises a plan to capture Lupin - wanting to meet him in person!

Because of Lupin's Successful Heist, she takes the opportunity to steal some money and make a getway of her own with her personal body guard/best friend, Galsan (Nicknamed "Terra").

Now on the run and hiding from her father, she calculates and plans the perfect scheme taking note of the heist she witnessed.

She changes her name slightly to be what it is now and with her trusted connections, she was able to set up a temporary base of operations. It would also be the stage of where she will set the trap for Lupin!

Plan: Challenge Lupin III to steal a lost treasure hidden within the confinds of a tower!

The goal: Entice and Steal Lupin's heart!

Bonnie conducts research by contacting Zenigata as he is the only one rich with Knowledge about the Lupin Gang! Of course, she isn't going to let the Inspector succeed in capturing the infamous theif, but makes him thinks so!

Everything that Zenigata had on the group as well as Fujiko was all she needed! Learning about them esspecially Lupin excited her!

I say the time frame took perhaps almost a year to set up as the setting needed to be as believable as possible! Bonnie then has a stand-in (who is male) to announce the creation of the tower and the prize waiting inside! Make him seem like he's the mastermind when he isn't that way Lupin is more interested!

Details: The Tower is built like a gauntlet. The lower levels are available to the public as a museum for the "Lost Treasure". The treasure is displayed in a bullet proof casing for the public to see. Then when the museum closes, it is elevated to the top of the tower under very heavy security and protection!

Now, I'm not sure what Lupin will do as I do not know how to write spy/theif action stories, I can think up concepts. But I do know he not only does succeed, but gets an unexpected surprise!

Plot twist, the treasure was agreed to be faked by Zenigata and Bonnie, but in actuality, it was real and Bonnie is "wearing" it (she hid it between her boobs [and it was on purpose])!

Bonnie used her connections to get the real thing and makes an offer to him!

Offers in order:

- Let her become part of the Lupin Gang! She will supply them with needed necessities through her trusted connections (though she does have a budget)

- Become her boyfriend! She wants to see who Lupin is in person! Though she was told by Zenigata how shameful and criminal Lupin is, weridly enough that only interested her further.

- I kid you not, this is what she wants: Have Lupin sleep with her! Like no shame whatsoever! She's 28 btw, she's just short, like 5'3 and just as horny!

If anything, Lupin meets his match here - both in terms of skill and romance! I'm thinking their relationship does start off as a mutual agreement. Lupin gets to experience what it's like to be genuinely liked or crushed on as Bonnie would be holding his cheeks and just gushing about how cute and handsome he is! He's still after the treasure of course, but Bonnie will make sure it's a challenge for him! Teasing him, playing around, making him chase her and stuff. She's got tricks up her dress, let me tell ya!

What I want to do basically is like, build up their relationship as I do wanna ship them! OCxCanon is valid and I will die on that hill. I want them to have depth and go into detail about what kind of relationship the two want. I esspecially wanna go over what exactly Lupin and Fujiko's relationship is. How long are they gonna keep playing these games with each other? Will Bonnie understand what it's like to have a relationship? The sacrifices and dedication it takes to maintain one?

Yeah, I wanna explore all that. This is just for fun! Anyway, I'll work on her pallet and share Galsan's stuff!

Does anyone have any strange anecdotes that relate to their readings about Arsène Lupin?

In my case one of those anecdotes was when Google for some reason did not give me information about the OR Arsène Lupin. I literally only got information about Remus Lupin or Lupin III. Mainly of Remus Lupin.....(⁠@⁠_⁠@⁠)

Lupin III Chapter 88 Review

Its hard doing manga reviews

BECAUSE MAN, THE FIRST HALF OF THIS CHAPTER SUCKS. Finally gonna give a content warning for: torture, child murder, rape, and zenigata slander please read this review with discretions thank you

I'm just gonna get this over with

So in this chapter, "Lupin and Jigen" capture this guy from the special police task force and basically tortures him until he tells them his true identity.

Lupin's been told to do this from a mysterious shadowed man we never really knew the identity of but he basically tells Lupin that he's being too soft and he tells Lupin to bring the police's son and kill him in front of his dad. So he reluctantly does it, the child gets washed away in the sewer water and gets horribly electrocuted by a wire. yayy.....

So the police guy is very reasonably angry and goes on what is apparently a "blood rage" and smashes Lupin and Jigen with a chained mace i think? Then Lupin finally knocks him unconscious and leaves him there

Then a mysterious woman whos presumed to be working for that guy rescues him from the sewer

Soon after, the woman's fiance returns home and proposes to her and she accept, hm how sweet. Then of course, Lupin comes out of nowhere to ruin everything.

He rips the women out of her fiance's arms and suddenly kisses her and threatens to rape her if she doesn't spill out where the man she rescued and what his identity is ..

She tries to resist and the fiance tells her to just confess the truth to Lupin, which she doesn't and Lupin rapes her :(

I told you, really rough chapter... honestly i doubt anybody's reading this lol

Lupin then just leaves and the fiance gets really pissed at her for not resisting and just telling the truth??? Bro get mad at the rapist not the victim this dude is crazy. And then he leaves probably breakng off from her

The woman is distraught but is approached by the police man who probably found her after that incident. He tells her that he's the one she saved and to dress up and drive somewhere out.

Lupin and Jigen look in the distance and a tear rolls down Lupin's eyes, and he saids that this is the hardest job he took.

The shadowed man appears again saying that now the police man and woman will be hunting for Lupin to get revenge, then... the son of the police guy appears???seemingly unscathed????

THEN GUESS WHAT

IT WASNT LUPIN NOR JIGEN IN THIS CHAPTER. IT WAS ZENIGATA AND A RANDOM DUDE WHO DECIDED TO DO THOSE STUFF JUST TO BLAME LUPIN FOR ALL OF IT

THIS WAS JUST A PLAN THE ENTIRE TIME, A HORRIBLE PLAN!!!

i have no words to describe how much i hate this first part of the chapter, but luckily, its doesnt get worse from here.

Part 2!

Now we get the real Lupgang, who already know of Zenigata's plan and is hiding inside a wrecked ship. Zenigata is attempting to sneak up on them, but Jigen shoots a rock straight towards Zeni's head and the three split off elsewhere

yknow what he really deserves it this time

Lupin enters an empty cabin where he finds that the policeman he captured in there escaped! Him, along with the woman tries to kill Lupin but he successfully convinces them that they were tricked by Zenigata and none of their misfortunes were his fault.

Lupin then returns the kid to the policeman from a balloon, and they hugged,,, sniffles sniffles

Lupin's face looks consistently devious in this chapter idk why

Goemon and Jigen then return wearing policeman outfits but it appears that everything went smoothly so they take it off. wow.

AND THEN THEY GET CAUGHT BY ZENIGATA. He tells the two police task forces to capture Lupin, which they reluctantly obliged like wow ok thanks for being unhelpful

But, Lupin uses the balloon trick on them and leave them floating on the sky. I wonder if theyll get rescued later...

ALSO SEE LUPIN LOOKS SO DEVIOUS GOD I LOVE IT

aaanyways so he only has Zenigata and the shadowed man to deal with (who is now unshadowed and revealed to just be a random fat dude) and he decides to just lift up a giant anchor and hit them with that! Wow genius

Zeni tells him to drop the anchor (but ok you cant tell my babygirl what to do you're my least favorite character in this chapter already) He does it, and the anchor drops Zeni and fat guy down all the way into the ocean... i guess they also got balloon'd without knowing.

the end.

I just want everyone to know that I don’t particularly have much experince with suicidal thoughts and or self harm myself. But I am chubby so I’m not sure if everything will be accurate or right but I do hope this helps ppl who may need it :)

TW: Suicidal thoughts, Self harm, Insecurities, fat phobia (all of this is being comforted by Goemon)

-Goemon is a man of action rather than words and that’s how it’s always been

-However, Goemon expresses his love for you nonetheless

-Soft kisses in private, holding your hands when walking, and maybe even a gentle forehead kiss in public

-Goemon loves all of you, but he has always found your body phenomenal.

-He has definitely threatened pricks silently with his sword if they decided to make some fatphobic comment towards you

-Your curves, chub and dips were amazing to him and he wishes you could see it.

-Goemon had known of your insecurities and never made you feel bad about it, understanding that it wasn’t something you could help a lot of the time.

-When Goemon found out about your suicidal thoughts and self harm scars, he was the same way.

-Completely non judgemental and completely comforting.

-When you first told him, and maybe even showed him the marks and scars, with tears pouring down your face, he let you cry holding you, rubbing your back and whispering comforting words

-Or whatever else you would prefer in that moment. He would always listen to you and comfort you in a way you want to be comforted if asked

-But in a serious moment I do think Goemon may be a bit more touchy and gentle with you, showing you that he’s always going to love and be there for you.

shows i dropped this year/didn’t finish: Hmm I leave a lot of movies half finished. Most recently didn't finish a French film I was watching for language practice (can't remember the name).

currently reading: I'm actually not a big reader so following along with Les Mis letters has been an accomplishment for me this year. I do listen to a decent number of non-fiction audiobooks while cooking/cleaning/driving, though. Currently listening to Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness by Da'Shaun Harrison. I listen to fiction books I already know as I fall asleep and my current one for that is Early Riser by Jasper Fforde (his book Shades of Grey is on that rotation of favorites as well).

currently listening to (sneaky additional question!): I already talked about audiobooks so some podcasts I listen to regularly are Tous aux Oiseaux!, Maintenance Phase, Worlds Beyond Number, and recently have started listening to The Old Songs Podcast.

currently working on: My Master's thesis..... I'm getting so close to done but that's taking up 90% of my time and energy rn. I'm also working on translating and annotating lyrics from the Original French Concept Album of Les Mis and trying to draw more.

current obsession: Good Omens + Hozier's Unreal Unearth. Les Mis is a constant.

Cowboy Bebop #2: “Stray Dog Strut” | October 31, 1998 | S01E02 Adult Swim premiere: September 3, 2001 - 12:30AM

The previous episode ended with a little preview for this one, explaining in a tongue-in-cheek way that this episode was good old-fashioned family-friendly anime. Aside from a PG-rated cuss word it does resemble a family show somewhat. In this one, the Beboppers (as they like to be called) wind up on a Martian colony where they gotta chase down a nice doggy. I remember seeing this little guy in promos for the show and at the end of the episode they do wind up keeping him. You gotta give it up for pet ownership. I’m just not sure where the little guy is going to take shits on that spaceship.

The Mars colony resembles a more contemporary city, and the wiki points out that it’s mostly Chinese, which is probably an accurate prediction of what’s going to happen: Elon Musk will fly a bunch of fat Americans to go live on the first Mars colony. They’ll get the wi-fi set up and stuff, and then the Chinese will arrive with a bigger arsenal and take over. Then they will sing the “We are Siamese if you please” song from Lady and the Tramp to celebrate.

Admittedly, this one was sort of a blur. That’s my bad. I’m bad! But the main thing I remember is the dog holds some kind of secret, and the episode seems to be teasing what exactly that secret is. Eagle-eyed viewers! Keep looking out for this guy! He is small!

I’m going crazy. I literally went to listen to this song for the first? time? It’s only vaguely familiar to me, and I’m not sure it’s because I heard this song or if it’s because it vaguely sounds like various other songs from this era, you know? Even the video reminds me of a different video.

BUDDY! If I had all the time in the world I’m tellin’ ya, I’d review every cartoon on the planet, even anime. I’d go to town... TOON town, that is. I’m not saying it’s a goal of mine to watch all the second-run Adult Swim shows, but I will say I did make a list of all the 2002 ones in chronological order of when they premiered and I just might slide down that list if I need to. For the record, the very next AS acquisition is Baby Blues. I don’t know, man. I can’t see myself going episode-by-episode for Yu-Yu Hakashu, but I do think I should watch some of it for fun at least.

Abstract

Metabolism is the process your body uses to make energy from the food you eat. Food is made up of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Chemicals in your digestive system (enzymes) break the food parts down into sugars and acids, your body’s fuel. Your body can use this fuel right away, or it can store the energy in your body tissues. If you have a metabolic disorder, something goes wrong with this process. Dyslipidemia is main etiological factor leading to develop coronary artery disease (CAD). Allopathic drugs used in cure of hyperlipidemia, have unwanted effects, so have poor compliance. Now a day’s nutraceuticals are getting popularity due to their moderate hypolipidemic actions with fewer adverse effects. Niacin or vitamin B-3 is used as hypolipidemic agent which increases HDL-cholesterol and decreases LDL-cholesterol, VLDL, TGs by different mechanisms. But its main adverse effects are flushing due to synthesis of Prostaglandin D-2 which has vasodilatory effect causing flushing. Cardamom is herb having hypolipidemic potential if used in specific concentration for long time. In this work we did try to compare these two medicines hypolipidemic effects. Study was single blind placebo-controlled conducted at Jinnah Hospital Lahore-Pakistan from July to November 2018. Seventy-five hyperlipidemic patients were selected and divided in three groups. Their base line lipid profile was determined at laboratory of the hospital. Patients were divided in three groups. Group-1 was on placebo therapy, Group-II was on Niacin 1.5 grams daily in divided doses, and Group-III was on Cardamom 1 gram daily in three divided doses. It was two months therapeutic design. At completion of therapeutic regimen after two months we measured all patient’s lipid profile. When results were compiled and pre and post treatment values were analyzed statistically, it was observed that both drugs hypolipidemic potential is different, although both have hypolipidemic characteristic, but Niacin is the best for treating Hyperlipidemia. For statistical analysis we used SPSS version 5.0 and paired ‘t’ test was applied to understand significant changes in two tested group’s lipid profile.

Introduction

Lipid metabolism disorders, such as Gaucher disease and Tay- Sachs disease, involve lipids. Lipids are fats or fat-like substances. They include oils, fatty acids, waxes, and cholesterol. If you have one of these disorders, you may not have enough enzymes to break down lipids. Or the enzymes may not work properly, and your body can’t convert the fats into energy. They cause a harmful amount of lipids to build up in your body. Over time, that can damage your cells and tissues, especially in the brain, peripheral nervous system, liver, spleen, and bone marrow. Many of these disorders can be very serious, or sometimes even fatal. High LDL-cholesterol and low HDL-cholesterol in blood are cause of synthesis of atherosclerotic plaques which get deposited with inner endothelium of coronary arteries, leading to develop coronary artery disease (CAD) [1,2]. Hyperlipidemia either primary or secondary is challenge for scientists of 21st century due to this disease’s complications like coronary artery disease, Hypertension, Cardiac Arrhythmias, and Myocardial Infarction [3,4]. Hyperlipidemia causes LDL particle’s oxidation, which initiate formation of atherosclerotic plaques leading to development of coronary artery disease. From this single complication of Hyperlipidemia, all major heart diseases are developed leading to morbidity and mortality due to last lethal major heart disease Ventricular Fibrillation [5-8]. Hypolipidemic drugs commonly used include Statins, nicotinic acid, bile acid binding resins and fibric acids, but all have potential for low patient compliance due to wide range of side effects [9].

Niacin increases apolipoprotein A1 levels due to anti catabolic effects resulting in higher reverse cholesterol transport. It also inhibits HDL hepatic uptake, down-regulating production of the cholesterol ester transfer protein gene. Finally, it stimulates the ABC-A1 transporter in monocytes and macrophages and upregulates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ results in reverse cholesterol transport. It reduces secondary outcomes associated with atherosclerosis, such as low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides, but increases high density lipoprotein cholesterol [10]. Despite the importance of other cardiovascular risk factors, high HDL was associated with fewer cardiovascular events independent of LDL reduction. Other effects include anti-thrombotic and vascular inflammation, improving endothelial function [11]. To get good drug-patient compliance many health-related modern researchers have started to put their haeling potential for developing alternatives drugs used in primary or secondary Hyperlipidemia. Cardamom or in urdu ILAICHI is one of the hypolipidemic herb, widely encouraged by cardiologists to be used for prevention of atherogenesis, and coronary artery disease [12]. Cardamum’s antioxident effect is well established in many research studies on medicinal herbs. This nutraceutical contains Flavenoids and Phenolic compounds which scavenge Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), reducing risk of developing CAD. Oral administration of cardamom extracts significantly reduced total cholesterol, highdensity lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein, and very lowdensity lipoprotein and triglycerides in HL patients [13].

Patients & Method

Design: It was single blind placebo-controlled study conducted at GENERAL HOSPITAL Lahore from July to November 2018.

No of Patients: Seventy-five hyperlipidemic patients were selected and enrolled for the study. Written, already explained and approved consent was taken from all patients.

Inclusion Criteria: Inclusion criteria were age limit from 18 to 70 years of both gender male and female primary or secondary hyperlipidemic patients.

Exclusion Criteria: Patients suffering from any vital organ disease or their impaired functions were excluded from the study. Alcoholics, cigarette smokers and patients taking regular medicine for their any physical or mental disease were also excluded.

Grouping: Seventy-five patients were divided in three groups, comprising 25 patients in each group. Group-I was on placebo therapy. They were provided capsules containing grinded rice and mixed wheat. They were advised to take one capsule before meal, thrice daily for two months. Group-II patients were advised to take 1.5 grams of Niacin in three divided doses for the period of two months. Group-III were advised to take one-gram grinded green Cardamom powder mixed in black tea, thrice daily after each meal for the period of two months.

Methods Used: At start of study all patients’ blood pressure was recorded and kept in their personal file. Lipid profile of all patients was determined by Frei Dewald Method. Total-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol were main parameters we required for further calculation of change in these parameters. All patients were advised to visit clinic fortnightly for their follow up. After two months therapy their lipid profile was measured again by same Frei Dewald Method. Blood Pressure of all participants was again measured and compiled for further statistical analysis.

Statistical Analysis: Data were expressed as the mean ± SEM and paired “t” test was applied to determine statistical significance as the difference. A probability value of <0.05 was considered as non-significant and P<0.001 was considered as highly significant change in the results when pre and post-treatment values were compared

Results

Results are shown in Table 1 with detail and all parameter’s values and changes in these parameters are self-explanatory.

Discussion

Nutraceuticals like vitamins, and nutritional substances like fruits, vegetables, and indian spices are getting popularity in medical research regarding their therapeutic characteristics. Vitamin B-3 or niacin, and Cardamum (illaichi) are well known nutraceuticals which have been proved to have hypolipidemic potential. Metabolic syndrome is cluster of complications in lipid, protein and carbohydrate metabolism in human body. Hyperlipidemia is main fraction and part of this complication. High plasma LDL particles are prone to be oxidized leading to synthesis of atherosclerotic plaques which deposit to endothelial wall of arteries including coronary arteries (CAD). To reduce high plasma fats can prevent individual from being vulnerable for development of CAD. In our results two months therapy with Niacin decreased total and LDL cholesterol 13.1 and 6.7 % respectively. Statistically decrease in total cholesterol is highly significant while change in LDL-cholesterol is significant biostatistically. These results match with results of study conducted by Capuzzi DM et al. [14] who agree with our results. They almost saw same changes in LP (lipid profile) of primary and secondary hyperlipidemic patients.

They mentioned effects of blood pressure which was nonsignificant when they analyzed pre and post treatment values in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Our results of change in HDL cholesterol also match with results of Alam K et al. [15] who proved 11% increase in HDL-cholesterol which is highly significant change in pre, and post treatment values of the parameter mentioned. Cantarella L et al. [16] proved significant change in systolic blood pressure of hyperlipidemic patients but non-significant effects on diastolic blood pressure. Goto T et al. [17] explained cause of flushing by using Niacin in hypolipidemic doses. They recommended titration of Niacin dose to improve patient drug compliance. Kawaguchi K et al. [18] did research on Cardamom and found phenolic compounds of this herb as antioxidant. They agree with many researcher’s idea or viewpoint that phenolics work as scavenger of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Mittal MK et al. [19] proved that hypolipidemic effects of any herb are not as potent as Statins or Niacin. They have encouraged researchers that active ingredients of medicinal herbs should carefully be extracted and utilized efficaciously when you could preserve all for long time. Our research study proved significant changes in total and LDL cholesterol in 24 hyperlipidemic patients, i.e. 7.2 mg/dl reduction in total cholesterol and 8.8 mg/dl decrease in LDL cholesterol. Changes in both parameters are biostatistically significant.

Almost same results were observed by Bruckert, Eric et al. [20] who again said and advised patient not totally to depend on medicinal herbs, for, it is difficult to treat the disease by monotherapy when they start to develop metabolic syndrome and its serious complications. Babu PV et al. [21] has described that too much active ingredients or chemical compounds present in herbal medicines made it (Cardamom) unpopular because unexpected effects may be observed by using large amount of grinded Cardamom. He warned individuals using large amount of drug may harm metabolic pathways of body, producing unexplained metabolites which can harm body tissues. NA Lokan et al. [22], Temokarr Y et al. [23] explained that there are remarkable number of medicinal herbs and other chemical compounds which scavenge ROS (reactive oxygen species) in human body, preventing development of CAD.
