I think it’s really cute how people started digging out my 2021 Josh bday art again on this day. So as to not let you down, here is 2022 Josh birthday art and a very special request from me to you on this special occasion: I'm looking for someone who can help me translate my Composers comic strip into Japanese.
I know the strip is very text-heavy, my Japanese level is certainly not enough to work on it and it’s gonna take effort regardless. I promised the friend who got me into twewy to at least ask the fandom for some help. While my entire fanwork body is not monetized so I do not have a budget for this, I will be very happy to draw you any of your favourite characters from the franchise (up to two). I know it may not sound like a deal, it may be a long shot - which is why I've forever hesitated to ask but well, here is to a maybe.
Josh’s birthday 1/11 by the way, falls on Samhain festival - a festival to celebrate the darker half of the year during the time of which dead souls can visit the world of the living, along with a few other... things that will sneak through the gates. It's believed to be the origin of Halloween and All Souls' Day, though opinions may differ. The biggest sight for Halloween celebration in Japan just happens to be, none other than Shibuya.

Hello again, Autobots, Decepticons and gentlebeings of all persuasions! Moderator @eerian-sadow here, with all the details for the upcoming Jazz Week, where we celebrate the smoothest, coolest cat ever produced by Hasbro.
Of course I’m talking about Autobot Jazz!
Jazz Week, or Autobot Jazz Week to keep confusion among the music festival crowd to a minimum, is a themed prompt week that will run during August. The dates for 2022 are August 7-13, in fact.This does overlap AUgust, unfortunately
BUT!!
You can absolutely overlap your challenges. In fact, I encourage it! I don’t expect anyone to turn out two or three or more pieces per day, so please double or triple dip for THIS challenge. After all, it’s fine to wear the same dress to more than one party. ;) AND this is an “All Fanworks Welcome” challenge! Whether you paint, draw, write, knit or make floral arrangements, any andd every fanwork that celebrates Jazz is happily welcomed here.
And importantly, there are prompts. Here’s the 2022 Jazz Week list:

Do You Want to Make Some Art (and Win Some Prizes)?
Hello Friends!
We are extremely excited about our three Guests of Honor this year, and want to make sure their amazing work gets some love from our attendees. Also we just like making events happen. To these ends, we hereby announce a Fanworks Festival! This will take place on a weekend of your choosing in the first few months of 2021. Please fill out this survey to indicate which weekends are best for you.
This event is open to fanfiction, fanart, fanmixes, cosplay, filk, graphics, soup, whatever you can think of. We’re not putting limits on what you can make, because creativity is limitless! You can make absolutely anything you want. There will be one day for each creator, so for example, on Friday you post things inspired by Ursula Vernon’s work, on Saturday you post things inspired by Diane Duane’s work, and on Sunday you post things inspired by Mark Oshiro’s work! We’re also not limiting this event to any particular fandoms, so you’re welcome to post fanworks inspired by any of our GoH’s works. This is not limited to YW.
As a little extra bonus, we will be raffling off some prizes for participants in the event! There will be three prizes, one for each day/GoH. You’re welcome to make more than one fanwork, but you can only enter once per day. So if you make a fic for Door Into Fire and art for the YW series, you get one entry for the Saturday prize, but if you make art for YW, a fanmix for the clockwork boys, and art for Each of Us a Desert, that’s three entries! This isn’t a winner/loser deal, it’ll be a random draw from the pool of people who entered works on each day, and the prize packs will be nearly the same each day. The only exception is that if you make a fanwork based on Mark’s work, you have the chance to win a badge to CrossingsCon!
We’re super excited about this, and we hope you are too! Please do fill out the survey, which once again can be found here.

Self Insert Week 2021
Five years ago, Tumblr user @the-alligator-queen began an annual tradition called Self Insert Week - a weeklong challenge/jam/etc where participants are encouraged to make fanworks with themselves as the main character.
This year, this storied Tumblr festival will be starting on Sunday, May 9th, and lasting through Saturday, May 15th.
Why participate? Well, in its founder’s own words, it’s “a fun reason to make ourselves into the awesome characters we daydream up while going about our normal lives”.
But it’s also a strike back at the common tendency to see fanfic and fanart as such Serious Business that it’s not allowed to be openly self-indulgent… because what’s the harm, really, if not everything we write is Serious Literature? Who said it had to be? Why can’t we embrace the cringe every now and again?
So this event is an excuse - carte blanche and imprimatur to indulge in all the silly fandom escapism you’ve been holding in. Go smooch that Blaseball player you like in Photoshop. Tell us about the drama you got tangled up in during your sophomore year at Hero Academy. Go wild! There’s no sign-up to participate, no masterpost, nothing like that. Just write, draw, and post your stuff under #self insert week 2021 so that other participants can cheer you on. :)

Add Magic to Taste Author Spotlight: A.L. Heard
Ashley, pen name A.L. Heard, fandom name jhoom, is a 34 year old teacher, writer, and mother of two little boys. She’s been writing fanworks since she discovered fanfiction.net back in her middle school days; the platform has changed and the writing’s improved, but Ashley ultimately still spends her free time writing about characters she adores in worlds she’d like to explore. Her first novel, Hockey Bois, was published in 2021. In between writing projects, she works as a language teacher in the Pittsburgh area, plays hockey, and plays trains with her sons.

Near the end of the street was a shop with an old-fashioned wooden sign straight out of a Renaissance Festival. It read "The Tasty Crumpet" in an elegant navy script that glittered with gold flecks, a baker’s cap and wooden spoon bracketing the words. The light cast through the windows was soft and inviting—a sharp contrast to the dreary weather—promising warmth and tasty treats.
All of that was tempting enough, but the HELP WANTED sign taped to the front window sealed the deal. The sign was old and battered, like it’d seen its fair share of use, but the words AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY INQUIRE WITHIN at the bottom caught his eye. How could he say no to that?
The door chimed as he stepped inside, a bell that tinkled more than rang, and the sound made him smile despite the water dripping off his nose. He shook out his hair and stepped toward the counter.

They were high school rivals and Cisco hasn't seen the guy since he left town after coming out.
In fact, Cisco hadn't even realized Hartley'd come back to Centralville. But apparently the guy's been around long enough to start a new bakery on the other side of town...

ItaSasu Birthday Bash Prompt Fest 2021
Welcome! The ItaSasu Discord server presents this year’s prompt fest, an event initially inspired by Itachi and Sasuke’s birthdays as an event for the Itachi/Sasuke community. The fest prompts will start on June 9th and end on July 23rd. But there’s no real time limit on our event for posting works, and you can even post afterwards.
Please check out our Event Info page for details (and links related to the event like our AO3 collection, server, and Twitter), but this is a laid back and flexible event that is open to any media form. We do not have specific content restrictions or ratings, but we ask you to tag your work appropriately for content like violence or sexual themes. Polyamorous ships are allowed as long as Itachi/Sasuke content is featured. You can put birthday spins on the prompts, though birthdays as a central theme for your work is not necessary.
Picking one prompt for each set of prompts is fine for one fanwork you create, combine prompts on each line, or do them separately.
Our main tags are #ItaSasuBirthday or #ItaSasuBirthday2021. You can tag the prompt day, such as #ItaSasuBirthdayDay1 if you start with those prompts, for separation of the 40-1 days of prompts.
Feel free to drop by the server and go to the “events” channel for discussion about your work progress.
