#the house genuinely was in a condemned state #that was suggested by multiple contractors to just tear down and rebuild #and we know this cause the family that had been renting it offered to renovate it in order to start buying #but as they started trying to fix it the landlord evicted them #then the land owner scammed somebody else into buying it and that person immediately started #flipping the house trying to keep repairs cheap as shit while over working the workers #like we literally saw them working into like midnight!!! #and even then the visible repairs on the outside are so shoddy and very obviously done in a rush and with little quality resource #so i can only imagine how extra bad it is inside especially plumbing and such like GOD

Headcanon, Viktor is a clothes thief. He loves smelling Jayce all the time so any time he isn’t in public he just takes Jayce’s most recent shirt and just wears it around. He gets very embarrassed one day when Silco comes over unexpectedly and catches him wearing one. Silco just rolls his eyes and continues with whatever he wanted to talk about.

At very first I don't think Viktor even realised he was doing it. He just grabbed Jayce's shirt to wear because it was convenient and he wasn't planning on going out in public for a bit. The reason he happened to pick that exact shirt was because it smelled so much like Jayce and he was subconsciously seeking it. But it's only after Jayce sees him and wordlessly gapes for like a solid minute that he realises what he's done (and probably sheepishly says that it's because he likes smelling Jayce's scent on him which unintentionally was the most effective way to ensure Jayce will never have a problem with it).

After that it's a bit more intentionally finding Jayce's most recent shirt if he's just home doing things (which Jayce is intentionally leaving his shirts out to be found and worn by Viktor). It helps him relax (and he finds does tend to inspire him a little with him ending up scribling some notes of things to try once he gets back to the lab) and he will sometimes just nuzzle at the collar of it taking in Jayce's scent.

Silco can't really talk considering I don't think he owns any sleep shirts (at least) of his own anymore because he just steals Vander's shirts to sleep in. Doesn't stop Viktor from being embarrassed at being caught in Jayce's shirt but Silco very much doesn't have the time to actually acknowledge it.

I just found out that my grandmother (and other family members, but finding that out hurt less) does not believe in climate change

Yesterday at dinner, my aunt was asking me about the different masters I was looking at (she's like one of the very few supportive ppl in my family, and one of the few who actually seems interested in my studies)

So I told her that I was looking at master programs regarding systems and control, and more precisely, at courses that were related to meteorology, climate, and environment. My aunt was asking me questions, it was a fun little conversation, and I got overexcited talking about weather patterns and the importance of research (I have been obsessed with weather since I was 6, and the first job I ever wanted to do was meteorologist)

And that point, my grandma turned to us and said something along the lines of "it's not real, you kids just invented it to annoy your elders"

This single sentence was like an arrow straight to the heart. Because she then went on about how ridiculous it was that climate would change, that we only had different cycles and that this was simply one of them.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but this is just the drip too much. Whenever I talk about my interests, I get shut down because "there are more important things in life than mathematics".

From the ages 6 to 12 I kept telling ppl I was going to be a meteorologist. My grandmother laughed at me every time, saying "it's cute to have dreams". Now I know she never believed that my interest were real.

Anyway, I'm off to another family meal, and I'll make sure to not mention climate, the weather, or mathematics.
