We're $600 short on rent and just got told by our landlord that if it's not paid by the 13th, they're going to start the eviction process. We don't get another paycheck until the 14th. Our landlord gets more aggressive the closer it gets to the holidays and goes on about "not wanting to hear any sob stories", so I'm not confident about them being willing to work with us, though I'm going to try my damnedest. I'll be contacting the office in the morning to ask if I can bring in the money we do have and see if they'll give us any leniency.

I thought we had more time and we're really screwed right now. We also need to pay our utilities and get more groceries with that next check, but keeping a roof over the heads of four disabled trans people in the middle of December is top priority.

I don't know what else to do right now except post this hope people might be able to help.

Lost job and brink of losing home

i hate to do this again but i lost my job due to retaliation disguised as it being my performance , my job has been trying to cut me off for awhile and finally after holding on they let me go. im currently unemployed and searching for a new job daily, waiting for callbacks, i dont have much longer in this lease and my landlord is hostile im afraid if he were to find out i lost my job he would look for any excuse to have me evicted. i just need to survive here till december and im free. i really dont want to end up losing everything ive spent 3 long years achieving on my own i really dont like asking for help unless it was actually dire. i dont have long till october is up and i still need to finish paying off my rent and then rent next month, if i can somehow reach 2k in the next 2 weeks i would be so greatful. even just a dollar goes a long way, especially if alot of people donate even a dollar it can add up so fast, if you really cannot spare a dollar, any sort of boost or sharing of my post would be so appreciated.

Hey everyone!

I've been homeless since the end of March, and FINALLY found a place to live!

The security deposit is quite a lot at once and im still $2000 short. If I can't come up with that by July 20th I lose the place and the 1k I already put down to reserve it.

Plus my catalytic converter fell off my car and its currently in my trunk. But priorities.

I can't lose this place. Its perfect. Its the only one I've found near work. Im out of options.

Please help me be able to go to the mental hospital.

Hi I don't know where to start so uh if you don't know me, I'm Hollow. I have been medicated and doing therapy for a bit now. I had breakthroughs and ups and downs. But somewhere in me I'm not safe and I need to go get professional help instead of hoping I can fight it long enough it goes away.

But its not as easy as checking in. I have been denied disability and in the meantime we're without reliable income. Biggest issue is, its not just me. My sister, our pets, and our home rely on whatever pennies we can scrape up. If I leave without covering the bills, we'll lose our home and she'll have nowhere to go. So my options are hope I survive and pay the bills, or come up with the money asap so the bills are covered and I can admit myself to the hospital.

I'm gonna be honest, I am both ashamed and disappointed that I even have to make this post. But I have no other options.

TLDR; I need to pay the bills before hand so I don't lose everything if I get life saving care.

PLEASE READ, IN NEED OF IMMEDANT HELP

I need to make 3k by the 29th of November 2023 to prevent myself from being homeless.

My roommates are kicking me out with a month and a half notice, and while I have been approved for an apartment, the need to get in to the apartment is $2,994. Once I move, I'll have a raise so I won't be in financial trouble, but I'm really struggling as is.

Hey, Tumblr. It's Gigi again. It's January 2024 and I am still a disabled single mother of 2, attempting to make ends meet and coming up short. Due to a stupid tech issue I have been unable to work the past 3 days - work that would have made money I *need* to make sure that my rent and electricity and phone bills get paid. Overall, I'm going to be out close to $300 by 2/1, maybe more, but that's the best estimate I have at the moment.

Hi, I’m Wheatley, I’m a 24 year old agender individual living in the Bay Area.

Earlier this month I quit my second job because of being overworked, underpaid, and working in close proximity to sexual predators. I myself suffered abuse from one these individuals, and my HR reports changed nothing. I quit without a back up job.

After some searching I found another job but was hurt during the training portion, and they chose not to move forward with my employment there.

I’ve been shoplifting from grocery stores to feed myself, or exploiting the fact my medication acts as an appetite suppressant.

I haven’t been able to pay rent on time this entire year so I’m planning on moving to a cheaper place. The problem is that I have nowhere enough money in my bank account to pay a deposit for my future housing & my security deposit money for my current place will be tied up until my landlady does repairs. I am saving as much as I possibly can before my lease ends on 5/31/23. Moving back home is NOT an option, I’d really rather avoid moving back in with my abusive family if I can help it.

Please, any support you may be able to spare helps me immensely. I would truly appreciate if you could share this post if you see it.

Help a Filipino family with a newborn and three other kids stay in their home!

UPDATED POST about the Tolentinos' situation after some negotiation with the new landowner!

Right now they have to come up with 6,000 pesos (about 120 dollars) by the end of April, 6,000 more by the end of June, and 12,000 pesos (about 240 dollars) more in December. (So basically around 480 dollars, with a quarter of it due immediately. This is less than what they WERE going to have to pay.)

In case you missed the earlier post, here's the deal in the nutshell: Jhane's* dad is partially disabled, and works as a taxi driver two days a week, for about 10,000 pesos (less than 200 dollars) a month, which is about all he can manage. But twenty years ago, the Tolentinos built a house for their family on land they were told they could occupy forever.

The landowner passed away, and his heir refuses to honor the agreement. He is demanding the Tolentinos start paying rent or vacate the house they built. After some negotiating, the price is dropped a bit, and he is allowing them to purchase the property their house is on (once again, the house they BUILT there, because they were promised they could stay there forever), but they have to come up with the above amounts by the times indicated or forfeit the deal.

If they can get through these first few payments, they hope to be able to handle things on their own, but this came out of the blue, and right now they need a hand.

*In case you don't remember Jhane (@geniussheepworld), she's been a friend of the family since 2021, shortly before El was born. Back when I was hooked up to an oxygen machine for a month, Jhane moved in with us to help Zoey (@thesurestthing) take care of Baby El and me, and pretty much just became part of our little family. She's living with us again to reduce the financial strain on the rest of the family, but that's all we can really afford to do.

P.S. This is originating on my blog instead of hers because she's new to Tumblr, and we don't want her to get mistaken for a bot or anything, whereas I've been here since 2012.

It's Me Again

so we received this email from the manager of where we live

[Per our lease agreement, your rent is due on the first day of each month. We give tenants a 5-day grace period, which allows them a few extra days to meet their monthly obligation without penalties.  

Your 5-day grace period has passed, and we have not received your monthly rent. As stated in our lease agreement, failure to pay promptly results in an automatic $20.00 penalty fee after the first 5 days and a $1.00 per day thereafter. Your total amount due at this time is $932.70 (includes rent and penalty fee).]

we have $630 bc a couple subscribe & save things we had on amazon were accidentally ordered when our internet was out and i couldn't cancel them (we're struggling to return them since ups is being very unhelpful and i keep getting sent to amazon, who tells me it's ups's problem, and so on), so we still need $300. we live entirely off of my mom's disability and we just cannot afford this or to find another place to live currently.

my mom has explained all this to the manager last week, but judging by the email she (or the landlord) doesn't care very much

some of this is leftover from what rent assistance didn't help pay when they finally helped pay most of our back-rent last month
