Seeing the test print copy of Han’s Cottage, really felt wonderful. This is the first time I have used a full wrap around image on book cover with a glossy finish. All I can do is marvel at how my wife has digitally enhanced what was a painting I did, to show how I saw the cottage. I am really looking forward to its release in just over a week on Sept 19th. The book can be pre ordered in digital format at the moment, and hopefully over the next couple of days, the print will also be available for pre order from Amazon. The perfect Christmas gift. The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses was created as a bedtime story with the assistance of my three granddaughters. The fun was to make it rhyme with words that went with the story. This s not as easy as you may first think. An exciting element, was creating the principal characters around family members. Ultimately the story was amended several times in order ensure everyone had a spot. Nobody wanted to be lefty out. Have you ever seen the movie Dolls? It was made in 1987; it's classified as a horror movie but honestly, it feels more like a kind of twisted fairytale.

I don't think? I've seen that one. But I've watched so many horrors in my 26 years that I'm gonna be forgetting a few. It sounds good!!!! My favourite twisted fairystories will always be the Brothers Grimm - the completed anthology has a weighty place on my bookshelf, next to Edgar Allan Poe.😍

I guess I'll share a little about what my Pokémon fangame actually is. It is still in the early stages but I would love to release at least a demo at some point.

It's titled Pokémon Fairytale.

In this game you play as a Leavanny who can't battle themself but has learned strategy enough to lead others. (Which isn't that hard as most wild pokémon think strategy is using moves at random. Leavanny looks like a genius when they explain the wonder of using super effective attacks xD).

Anyway, the other Pokémon are worried because the Fairy Pokémon are trying to take over the world with the power of cuteness. They are very evil but pretend to be all innocent and cute. I know - very devious. Fairy types are tricky because they like when things look perfect and use attacks that look sweet but aren't. Charm, draining kiss, play nice, disarming voice. You get the idea.

At first Leavanny is sceptical of the idea and annoyed at having to go deal with conspiracy theories. Then he gets to Fairy Forest. And... it's not a real forest. All the trees and grass is pink. The Pokémon are comfey and floette and sudowoodo and all the things that look like grass types or bug types but are not. It creeps him out. And worse, the fairies are putting humans under their spell as well!

So there's no gyms or anything. Just areas you have to save from the evil fairies while being a snarky leavanny. Oh and Leavanny has a true love, a lilligant. At one point the fairies totally kidnap her and put her under a spell. It's probably too ambitious but I would love to throw in loads of silly fairystory tropes into this game. That sort of thing is probably too hard for me. Like I'd love to do a section where you're turned tiny but I'm not making new graphics where everything is giant just for that.

At the end of the game, I'm hazy on the details but probably go to fairyland and fight xerneas and the fairy queen to save the world and break the spell which would turn everything into Stepford.

As you can maybe tell, this is not the most serious game. It's silly and dramatic and colourful and yes the pink trees are a sign of evil.

Oh a few pink trees, that's not so bad. Nice even. Maybe the fairy's should take over? I like pink!

Then you get to the Fairy Forest...

Oh no! Where did the green go? The world seems perfect but only one type is allowed to be happy.

one of the many things I wish Wolfblood had the time for (and the writers for) addressing the "tame" wolves distaste and disbelief for the wild wolf folklore and culture

because there was a lot and again it happens in season five with the dawnus torc this one is the worst because nobody mentioned the Icefire comit again. You know the wolfblood fairystory where they all went to sleep and never woke up again? and then it happened again in the modern day
