I want to get into coding but I’m scared about working for a company and talking to people lol and I don’t think I’m creative enough. what do meetings and the job consist of? i have this assumption in the back of my mind like “what more is there to say/do other than code a website?” haha hope this is ok to ask! it’s super vague tbh I can’t find anything that touches base to a specific level enough online.

also, I’m not a math genius… very insecure about that since high/middle school. do I still have a chance? how does math go into coding?

I completely understand how you feel because I felt the exact same thing when I started working at my current workplace.

Working for a company

Many coding jobs do require collaboration and communication with others. However, it's important to remember that not all coding roles involve extensive social interaction. There are positions where you can work independently or have limited interaction with colleagues.

In my case, I work in the office Monday and Friday. Mondays are when everyone in the whole IT Department is in, except those who are off or on holiday etc. This is what I do:

I walk in

sit at my desk near the window

headphones in

code - occasionally turn around and annoy the Lead Web Developer with cries because my code isn't working (he then solves it in 10 seconds...)

At around 2:30pm is an IT meeting in the conference room. What do we discuss?

IT manager discusses any updates as an IT department as a whole. Any concerns about the technology used in the company. Any bootcamps we need to do internally, how was everyone's holidays, a little gossip.

Then everyone takes turns and discuss what they did the past week

That's it.

That's my company but I assume it's something similar for other companies. It's also important to know not everyone in the IT Department are web developers or work on building websites, not even in the sub-department Dev Team. Our Dev team are 6 members and only 2 (me and the Lead Web Developer) are web developers, so work on the company's websites. The other guys are very script-building and database oriented. All I do is code websites.

Maths in coding

Depends on what you're coding. I work with websites, I use Year 11/Grade 10 level of maths - it's not hard. As a reference, I stopped learning maths as a subject at school at a Year 13/12th Grade level and the stuff I'm using is way easier than what I learnt last - stuff my little sister, who's 14, can understand.

I chose web development because of the little maths. Some people have told me "Oh you'll encounter it one day" - I still haven't after 2 years. I use C# and JavaScript at work and still do very little maths. Maybe loops? I know if you're going to study computer science at university you will have to learn a good amount of maths, definitely harder than what I use!

Here is a list of the maths I use daily, that I can think of:

Arithmetic

Algebra

Logic and Boolean Algebra

Basic Algorithms

That's it. Maybe if I learnt the maths need in programming to the max, it might make my life easier when I am working on my personal projects, but my life is already easy with the little maths I know so I'm good for now.

Designing websites is less maths-y and more... designing in my opinion and experience. "I drew out this design for the website... how do I do I code that?" literally me every time I start a project.

Again, other fields in Computer Science would require more maths knowledge so research that field you want o go into and Google/ChatGPT "What maths is needed in [field name]?"

Hope this helps, my advice may not be the best since coming from a web dev point of view but it's still advice! Good luck 😎🙌🏾💗

when you say pepe probably went through a relationship that ended a bit badly… I AGREE!!! ahhhhh really i was thinking about what his problem with love is and why he’s emotionally unavailable and i was like… either he never was in a relationship before and the thought of doing this relationship stuff right is a bit scary to him, or maybe he had put his heart out there once and had it completely obliterated so he’s just like “i’m not putting myself and my heart out there again if i can help it.” i can see him being totally over his ex, but the situation in how his relationship ended was so bad it kinda just became something he never really got over? poor baby got done so dirty 🫠 he couldn’t bring himself to trust and let people in like that again until he met reader!!

and you talking how pepe would subconsciously do things for reader!! he’s such an act of service guy for the people he cares about 🤭 reader bending down from her seat to pick up something she dropped? his hand is definitely already covering the corner so she won’t accidentally bump into it. the friend group walking to get dinner somewhere? immediately made sure reader is walking inside and he’s walking to side nearest to the street. oh the reader looked a bit tired during their class together? he bought and personally delivered reader’s favorite drink or coffee during their break. and chris is like… “dude you said no when i asked you to get me coffee earlier 🥲” and pepe said “i only have hands to carry two drinks.” and the whole time his friend is just begging and praying to any god that would answer for pepe to realize his own feelings for reader because everyone can see it except him !!!!

oh OH AND before i go do we think pepe’s confusion, denial, and uncertainties towards his feelings for reader could potentially lead to a fight between him and his friends ???!!!! because i definitely have a thought or two about this one too ehehe and i think an angsty wake up call fits him very well 🫣 maybe nothing too big of a fight but i can see pepe getting smart mouthed with either chris or sebas about it. i can elaborate more if we do think so 😛😛

i ADORE "acts of service"!pepe !!!! the covering the edge of the table… the sidewalk rule… the coffee…….. you're making me melt anon 🫠 speaking of the coffee, i think he would memorize her order like instantly without even intending to (just like most of her other orders, likes and preferences tbh). and it would be so funny when he follows sebas along to go get coffee one day, and after sebas has ordered pepe jumps in and says "oh and a *insert whatever yns order is*", but sebas looks at him like "?? you said you weren't in the mood for coffee? and since when do you drink that??", but pepe just goes "oh it's for y/n" like it's no big deal….. but sebas knows that it indeed is a very big deal shejdhsjsj

and omg yes it's SO obvious. anyone with eyes can see that pepe has feelings for you (except for the two of you, apparently). because never has he acted like this around a girl since his last gf? he barely even looks at the other girls in his classes unless he has a group project with one of them? i definitely get the vibes of a fight there, oml. the denial is so strong for pepe but it's also a mix of just being scared because of what happened before, and not being sure if yn likes him back (because falling for someone who won't like him back will be crushing).... you're definitely welcome to elaborate if you'd like to 🤭🤭🤭

Pretty neat that Rush can be considered one of the first Boost games in the series. Advance 2 is the grandpa, Rush is the dad, Unleashed is the son :P and for being the first game relying on a boost gauge, which trivializes some of the challenge, I say they did a pretty good job with the levels, having tons of spectacle but still having a reasonable difficulty curve. Well, in Sonic's campaign. I still don't know who was the genius who said "yeah Blaze should start from the fourth level" :V

But yeah Blaze is cool! She has a super cool design and powers, and her character arc of learning to trust others is very... well, it's fitting with Sonic's general Power of Friendship theme :P (in fact you could compare her to Twilight Sparkle lmaooooo)

Also it seems Cream has learned from the best.

back in the olden days of 2008, i used to be writing this really silly book about 4 kids who transformed into dragons in order to save the world from spacetime dilation. ik ik i was a literary genius at 13 lmao. two of the main characters were a self-insert persona named Amber (the ginger girl here) and a boy i literary saw in my dreams, named Alex. while I've of course scrapped most of those ideas by now, I've actually still kept the characters around! Alex became the silly little Toot we all know and love today, and Amber stayed mostly the same, though shes now a paleontologist and bird-lover, studying the connection between birds and dinosaurs. i found those old stories the other day and have been reading through them and dorking on myself, and it made me wanna draw these two together again, for the nostalgic serotonins. except this time, toot's trans bc he deserves it and its the better canon 😎

Yes:

Fussy when it comes to grammar (selectively). Stuff like projects/work/etc., yes. I don't care much about it when doing stuff online and such.

Tech enthusiast(?) Not sure really. I spend a lot of time online, so I guess? I don't really want a technical career or anything.

Self-disciplined. I suck at doing things I need to do without being told unless I want to do it. Not really 100% sure if that's what it means, tho.

Personal interpretations about art? I'm not super into that kind of stuff, I guess? I don't go to museums or anything, they're boring to me.

Flawless personal— HAHA NOPE. I'll be honest, I think I look like shit every day and that everyone else is judging me. Granted I have no reasons to think that except for a girl in my freshman year of high school saying my hair was greasy and I looked gross and weird.

Indifferent/great advice... I mean, I try to give good advice. Not sure if it's any good.

Poker face. Do I have a poker face? I mean, sometimes? I have a bad stutter occasionally when I lie. It doesn't happen every time I lie, but every time I do something I'm not supposed to, my legs get incredibly shaky. Guess who won't ever be robbing a bank? 😎

The innate personality, idek. My brain makes random shifts in moods so the first one makes sense. My mood a lot of the time is the 2nd and 3rd one. I have never once thought of myself as a genius unless it's doing something sneaky when I was younger and got away with it. Like planning out something really detailed and having it work out. I also don't like my smile very much, so that knowing smile is like: ???

What does that even mean?????

The element is ok in general. I like water and wind elements, so ice is alright.

Since i have done the irodori quest + archon quest quiet a time ago already and it's not the heated topic of these days now, i would just recall on what i can remember ! 💕 They're like so random 😭

— my thoughts for the irodori: i like it. Lowkey detective game. I love how the characters may seem random but would make sense once you played through it all. Albedo's the ideal kind of person everyone wants to be. Me too. I want to be him. And i hate him for that. Klee and Yoimiya interaction is so cute. I love the book they made. The illustrations are really cute. Yoimiya is so sweet :3 As a Kazuha liker, i know i am not fond of Scaramouche. But this event really made me... Not like him more xD i am sorry to every scara liker and apologist, but i do not condone his actions and i wanna kick and smack his ass HARD if i could. Albedo is a genius for helping Xingqiu with stamping signatures. I love Albedo's illustrations, now HAND IT OVER!!! THIS IS A FOOKIN ROBBERY MY MAN IM STEALIN YOUR ART POWER!! Kazuha is really lovely and beautiful. I like the splash water -> make illustrations appear using this magic ink. I forgot about talking about Venti, hold on 😭 I apologize. He's a funny guy. The way he slowly looked up to Sara when his way was blocked bc he is sus. I really like the side quests. The itto and thoma one was wild. HE'S ALLERGIC TO BEANS oh No! I was thinking what if Yae is the general of Tenryou forces instead of Sara, i bet he'd tremble a bit on the battlefield. Kokomi and Yae penpals so cute. He's also still acting his role as a general of watatsumi bc he expressed his concern for the region's agriculture when making an exchange for the novel books for scientific agriculture ones. Ayato is truly a great mastermind in the background. I love hoe we get to interact with each and every inazuma character here :D

— Additional thoughts for Irodori Fest but the minigames edition: the theater mechanicus is disappointing this time. Theater Mechanicus is actually my favorite minigame (except this time). I Love the flower arrangement event !!!!!!! That's my favorite. The clash of lone blades' parry gameplay is really unique but i suck at it 😎 taroumarou beat my ass so hard and left me sobbing that a dog defeated me. I also LOVE the poem minigame!!! I like how they let you choose what lines to put etc etc. But what is not ok is making me take photos of so many random stuff then finding out that i havent taken the photo of this certain item to unlock the last poem lines.

— my thoughts for the Archon quest: hello Dainsleif it's been a while my man. I actually don't remember anything now omg. I like Halfdan's hair. It breaks my heart that Dain had to lie to him to make him pass away in peace. What a beautiful comradeship. The hilichurl suffering is so... So twisted. I don't remember if Lumine(my abyss twin bc i chose aether) really agreed to let this happen and not save the hilichurls bc she was seen offering the Inteyvat flowers. But it breaks my heart how they find the place to rest and accept their death :((( i actually thought we'd have more time to spend with Halfdan but. :( Okay this is sad. I really think it's just very short if not for me struggling to climb the floating buildings 🤣😭

itto. oh man, itto. istg every time thay man shows up on screen i’m automatically smiling. i have zero doubts he goes bug thoma when he can, and thoma entertains him because they’re friends 🫶 the way thoma felt responsible for him when he had the allergic reaction was so nice to see; he really is a caring person, through and through.

dude, gorou and kokomi showing up was literally the least expected thing for me. it was funny to see how they all interacted with miko. and yeah, kokomi and her being penpals was so cute!! i wonder if they only talk about book… gorou absconding the second he saw yae tho 😂😂😂 my man had war flashbacks non related to the actual war. he’s also incredibly selfless. i appreciate him a lot more now.

honestly, i don’t know who i was expecting to be behind the whole story chashing thing, but for some reason i wasn’t expecting ayato – maybe because in my head he’s always so busy, he wouldn’t get this involved… i don’t know. it was nice seeing him though.

i wish i could share my own thoughts about the minigames because honestly, they seemed pretty fun if i had had the time to enjoy them. i spedrun everything to get the rewards 🥲 but listen, taroumaru was a very hard fight. i remember fighting him more than once bc he kept beating me up. you’ve fought well 🫡 the picture taking also made me angry because of that – like, at least tell me the pics i need to take!!!! 🤬 i like having all options!!! but i’m not gonna keep going back to take more pics!!!!!

as for the archon quest, dude. i was so pissed to see dainsleif. like, mf has the balls to speedrun into the portal lumi disappeared while knowing i’ve been searching for her and then months later reappear into my life like nothing happened????? no. just no. i did the quest complaining the entire time until it gave me more lore lmao and then it broke my heart in half by confirming the whole “hilichurls are khaenri’ahn citizens” theory. i’m pretty sure lumi was informed of what would happen to them once she activated the bell, but i think she was trying to reverse the curse? it was pretty short, climbing and fights aside. it took me a little longer because it was a painful quest to do… i keep visiting the place where she left the inteyvats for the hilichurls, hanging out for a minute and then moving on.

as for halfdan… i wish we had more time with him too, but i understand why we didn’t. it’s not like he was really there, you know? the only moment we got to truly talk to him was at his end, and even then, he needed to know the citizens were okay. i was not okay.

A knock at the door lets you know that your boyfriend, Karl has arrived. You get up from the couch with a smile on your face, excited since you haven’t seen him in quite a while. When you turned the squeaky knob and pushed open your door there stood your boyfriend. “Hey honey,” Karl pulled you into a hug, laying a swift peck on your cheek. This may sound weird, but you always loved how good he smelled. Karl's scent was a mixture of shampoo and cologne usually but today it was different. There was another odor added into the mix and it smelled horrible, but it didn’t take long for you to figure out what it was. It was weed. You set your hands on his chest and pushed off of him a bit. “What’s wrong?” He asked, but you just looked up at him and noticed how his ocean blue eyes that are always full of joy, were now half-lidded and looked dull. “Are you... high Karl?” You questioned him with a concerned look on your face. “High? Babe, what are you talking about?” He talked with a hostile tone which made you get defensive of yourself. “What do you mean what am I talking about? I can smell whatever weed you were smoking.” You crossed your arms and shifted onto your other leg. “Alright fine, maybe I had one joint but I was pressured into it! And you know how I get when people start telling me to do something-” Karl started rambling, his words getting louder as he kept talking. He looked down at you with a frustrated expression shaded with sorrow and you knew he wasn’t faking anything immediately. “Hey, hey, it’s okay love, it’s okay,” You held him close, shushing him softly. “Let’s just forget about it for now, come sit down I’ll be right there in a second.” You left to get some water for Karl to calm him down and when you came back, Karl held you in his arms while the both of you watched Netflix, all tangled up together. — The next couple of times you and Karl saw each other, he reeked of weed. It was terrible and you seriously started getting concerned for him, contemplating if he needed actual help. Every single time he showed up at your door he was high and it was easy to tell. Not because of the smell, but because of the way he acted and looked. His eyes were tinted red and his voice became very hoarse. It bothered you because you wanted to help him except you didn’t know how to. So, one night you decided to surprise Karl hoping to lift his spirits even it was just a little bit. You knocked on his door gently, hoping to hear some shuffling around. Nothing. You knocked again. “Karl? Honey are you in there?” You wiggle the door handle, starting to worry about him and the door busted open. Okay, now you were really worrying. You set the goodies you brought down on the table and heard a faint sound. There was creaking coming from upstairs and what sounded like… cries for help? Instantly, you scurried up the stairs hastily, making it to the top, you slowed down. Now that you were able to hear the noise better you realized those wails that you heard downstairs, weren’t Karl. You knew when you heard Karl mumbling on and on about how great this woman (you’re guessing) he’s in bed with was. As soon as you heard this you darted over to his room across the hall and shoved the door open. You were welcomed into the area by seeing a girl maybe a year younger than you on top of your boyfriend. “Really Karl? How mature of you,” You spat out. “Baby, who is this?” The girl said pulling herself away from Karl’s lips and glancing over to you. “I’m his girlfriend-” She cut you off, “You never told me you had a girlfriend?” Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion and Karl sat up quickly. He ignored the younger girl and turned to you. “Babe it’s not what it looks like,” Karl panicked but not how did when he was high with you. He was sober, making you think he only smoked when he was with you. Tears started to swell in your eyes at the thought. “So then what is this Karl?” You cried out, “‘Cause to me, it looks like your fucking cheating on me!”

You begin weeping uncontrollably. “I’m-” You didn’t let him finish before you stormed out of Karl’s house and into your car. Once you got into the vehicle you began driving for hours trying to calm yourself down. You did eventually and made it home safely, but with a broken heart and no energy left after the events that occurred prior. Walking into your room, you looked at yourself in your vanity mirror noticing all the dried up mascara streaks from crying, and scoffed. You rolled onto your bed covering yourself up in all your blankets and drifted off into a slumber. --- Around three in the morning, you were rudely awakened by the sound of your ringtone. Begrudgingly, you used your hand to search around for the phone and hung up assuming it was spam. They called again and you ignored it this time groaning. When the tune ended you got multiple messages and you felt forced to answer. You took your phone and saw the messages were from an unknown number so you punched in your passcode and opened the messaging app.

- “Hello?”

- “Are yiu there?”

- “We neef to takl”

You looked at the messages confused.

“ “Who even is this??” -

- “It’s Krl”

You noticed all the mistakes he was making and knew he was high, yet exactly like before.

“ “Leave me alone Karl. I’m “ sick and tired of u.” -

- “No srsly I wsnt to talk with u answer my calld”

Starting to get irritated, not only because he woke you up for this bullshit but because of how annoying he was being. You confronted him.

“ “Why’d you only call “ me when you’re high?” -

- “High?”

“ “Why’d you only call “ me when you’re high?” -

“ANSWER ME KARL.” -

No response.

“Fuck you asshole.” -

You silence your notifications and shut off your phone, throwing across the room onto a bean bag. You held your face in your hands and sigh letting out all the stress Karl has caused you these past few days and attempt to fall back asleep.
