For the anon Pokémon asks: which battle subway conductor is the cutest?
Okay, this may get long, so bear with me.
First, a little disclaimer: Ingo and Emmet both make me feel incredibly seen. I was born in 1989 and wasn't diagnosed with autism until 2009, and I never got to see characters like me. I'd see some who were similar to me, or some with things in common with me, but Ingo and Emmet feel like looking in a mirror to me, to the point that I don't go in the Submas tag because I've seen too many people perpetuating the ableism that got me bullied as an undiagnosed autistic kid. Every time an autistic or autistic-coded character is portrayed as "weird" or "off-putting" or "too intense" or "scary," it's repeating things that my bullies used to excuse their behavior towards me and essentially treat me and my autism as entertainment. Most people aren't doing this, of course, but since I'm in the process of working through a lot of that trauma, I choose not to take the chance of exposing myself to it because I'd rather heal instead of open old wounds again and again.
Anyway, with that said, I adore them both, but only one of them makes me act like a giddy teenager.
Tumblr media
I have the most ridiculous fictional character crush on Emmet. It's unreal. Part of that is likely the fact that if he was real we'd actually be extremely compatible, but unfortunately for me, he is not, and so I can't take him on locomotive photo charter dates and kiss him on the City Hall looparound on the 6 Train. That aside, here's what I genuinely like about the goober.
He's deeply passionate about what he loves.
It's that passion that often gets people like him and me labeled as "too intense," but when he likes something, he really likes something. Battling is like air to him. When you befriend him in Masters EX, you find he'll actually talk your ear off about battling if you give him the opportunity. He vibrates with excitement when he sees strong trainers.
Tumblr media
[Image description: Emmet and Ingo, two adult identical twin men with knife-shaped sideburns wearing exaggerated versions of railroad conductor uniforms, stare off to the left at people who are off-screen. Emmet, in a white uniform, is holding his hands at his sides but his hands are in an excited, almost 'grabby' position; Ingo, in a black uniform, also has his hands at his sides but his hands are balled into fists. Ingo's Excadrill, a Pokemon that looks like a mole combined with a tunneling machine, stands in front of him. End description.]
In this screenshot from Masters EX, Emmet and Ingo have just run into Steven Stone and Roark. Emmet is barely holding back, and you can tell by looking at his hands. He wants to battle now. It's delightful that he's in a franchise of video games where that passion is normalized and encouraged. (As long as he never visits Paldea, anyway. Nemona is proof of how well that would go.)
Battling makes Emmet genuinely so happy and excited and I love when people get that way about their hobbies. It's so nice to see passionate people. Emmet even says he's excited about it when you battle him in Black and White and beat him at the highest level possible:
"I am Emmet. I am a Subway Boss, but I lost against you again. But I feel good. Because it was very fun! You want to win, and I don't want to lose. That's real. When we clash in battles, I feel very excited!"
[Source]
He lives for this, so much that even losing a really intense, serious battle feels good. And it's a delight. But, of course...
Tumblr media
[Image description: Emmet, described above, claps his hands together excitedly and says "Winning a serious, hard-fought battle is the best feeling in the world!" with a huge smile on his face. End description.]
...he, in his own words, likes winning "more than anything else."
He's verrrry direct in his communication...but also verrrry supportive.
Autistic folks are often told we're too blunt, and to neurotypicals, who are used to saying things more indirectly, we can come off as a bit...too direct to them, to say the least. Arguably the best example of Emmet doing this is in the PokeSpe manga, where he just says things without a filter.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a manga panel in which Emmet bluntly tells trainer White, "Yes, we're studying you as an example of a trainer who gets overwhelmed and loses every single match." The next panel leads off with Ingo saying "That's not nice, Emmet..." End description.]
But that bluntness isn't intended maliciously, he just has no filter and says what's on his mind. In reality, he's delightfully supportive and friendly, and that honesty leads to the most wonderful exchanges with him:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Image description: two screenshots of Emmet from Pokemon Masters EX, smiling softly. His dialogue reads, "Hi, Steph! Your smile is always the best. Perfect! Whenever I see you, I can't help but smile, too! I'll have to make sure my smile is just as good as yours!" End description.]
As a side note, this dialogue has been destroying me for over two years now, and every time I boot up the game and he says this I feel my face get warm. He's actually helped me stop being self-conscious about my smile.
He has a habit of listening in on things, even if he has no intention of gossiping or anything. He just likes knowing stuff.
It's a habit he seems to share with his brother, but Ingo is significantly less obvious and more apologetic about it. Emmet's just really funny about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Image description: two manga panels and one screenshot from Masters EX. The first manga panel shows Emmet marching over to White and Bianca as they have a discussion, saying, "I'm overhearing an interesting discussion over here. It seems profound, so I'm going to stand nearby and listen in. Oh, don't let me distract you. Go on. Keep talking." The second panel shows Emmet cupping his ear with his hand and still attempting to listen in on the discussion from one subway car away, with Ingo standing behind him. The screenshot from Masters EX shows Ingo hiding his eyes with his hat and saying, "I apologize for eavesdropping, but we happened to overhear your conversation at the Pokemon Center" as Emmet stands beside him, hands on his hips and smiling with no shame. End description.]
He doesn't use the information maliciously, and a lot of the time he doesn't even use it at all. He just enjoys hearing these things and knowing all sorts of weird drama is going on elsewhere. It's like when you find out about drama in a fandom you're not in and you read the posts and eat popcorn. It's great.
He likes his work uniform because it helps his posture.
As a fellow "leans forward too much" autistic, this one really resonates with me and I love it.
Tumblr media
[Image description: A screenshot of Emmet in Pokemon Masters EX. He's standing straight up and holding the brim of his hat with his hand. His dialogue reads, "Wearing it gets me motivated, of course! It also helps me stand up straight and tall!" End description.]
He stops scripting when he gets to know people better because he's able to trust them.
Notice how his dialogue in BW and BW2 is on the Battle Subway - "I'm Emmet. This is my job. I like doubles. This is why I like doubles. Here are the safety checks." He's scripting around people he's not familiar with, and it's the sort of thing that gets autistic people labeled as "robotic" by people who don't know it's a way to help us maintain some semblance of control over an unfamiliar situation. The preprepared dialogue is a coping method in an ableist world. But when you get to know him in Masters, the scripted dialogue shows up a lot less. He's able to talk genuinely and excitedly to you, because he knows you're safe to be around and you're not going to judge him for who he is. That hits me hard.
He has the most adorable goddamned laugh in the world and it kills me on the daily.
This is a lot more in line with my personal tastes, as everyone who knows me well knows, but that damn laugh makes me all fluttery inside and weak in the knees. And he does it a LOT.
This update to Masters EX, where the characters laugh if you tap on them on the upgrade screen, destroyed me, and multiple people were apparently waiting for me to find it and die because I'm really predictable. I may or may not regularly pull the screen up just to poke at him and hear this. It's...not fair.
This one is...also unfair. I won't elaborate in public on what I think when I hear it because it's embarrassing.
youtube
So, uh...yeah. I really, really like Emmet a lot. I'm really normal about Emmet. I promise.

Some much needed revamps for Team Charge and their ex teammate!
Notable changes:
-They got a name now
-Alli’s been renamed to Aisling and she is now the leader of the team somehow, she is now a lazier person who prefers to stay inside and play video games all day- but somehow seems extremely energetic and alive when she’s in a dungeon. She is also an Ambipom hybrid instead of an Aipom one.
-Felicity’s jacket is gone sorry. She still wears it casually sometimes but it doesn’t work with her new gauntlets. The gauntlets... might change, I’m not quite happy with them, but they have retractable claws made from shedded Excadrill claws and they both assist Felicity in battle (in place of actual attacks) and help store up her aura just enough to use one ice or dark type attack now and then. She also has no claws of her own.
-Marlow is green.

Arthur story revamp.
Sorry this is so much, and all over the place, I’d remember something, add it, then realize I was already so far in.
- 6’6ft(198cm) 337lbs, and early 50’s
- His team consists of a Herdier named Pepper. A Lampet named Lilac. A Excadrill named Roxie. A Ferrothorn named Buddy. A Haxorus named Hazel. And a Klinklang named Copper.
- He worked at gear station the moment he could to help his parents, as his family was not financially well off. But he did grow up in a very loving household.
- He’s a little awkward and stand-offish, not sure how to approach people, and his permanent frown didn’t help his case either. But his heart of gold shines through.
- He’s always ready and happy to help, gaining the reputation as the gear station dad, as you could go to him for anything and he’ll have your back.
- It’s where he met his now ex. The relationship started wonderfully, even to the point they got married and had twins.
- Ingo and Emmet are Arthur’s world, he was so ecstatic. But he was quick to notice all the hard stuff, and emotional labor was placed on him, as he had to balance two new babies, himself, and his spouse. It was easier to just move on, and he did.
- The boys stayed with him as his ex went traveling, but he doesn’t mind, he has his boys.
- It was a chore balancing the two, the trouble they would get into, but they were always right behind their dad.
- Or if Arthur needed a break, his parents would take them for the night, as the two boys loved spending time with their grandparents.
- Ingo mirrors his father a lot, while Emmet mirrors what people usually done see in Arthur.
- Arthur is a gentle man, and it showed in his parenting. Always working through problems, and apologizing when he’s wrong, it was trial and error, but he’s so proud at how his sons turned out. Was a firm believer in safety first, even to his rowdy children.
- Some older employees of gear station use to work along side Arthur, and sometimes joke to Ingo and Emmet about “telling your dad.” But it’s all in good fun.
- Arthur’s love languages are gift giving and acts of service, more so if he’s making a gift that takes hours. “If it makes you happy, I’ll gladly do this everyday.”
- Use to battle trainers in the day, but ever since he retired, so have his Pokémon.
- Has a love hate relationship with reality tv. On one hand, he loves watching cooking shows, or baking shows, on the other he will drag house hunting shows or renovation shows through the mud.
- He’s not as mean as he looks, he likes to tend to his garden and befriend the local wild Pokémon population. If he naps a in his rocking chair outside, he will wake up to deerling, Sawsbuck, sewaddles, and Leavanny around him, or on his lap.
- Makes dad jokes, I’m so sorry, but he loves seeing the despair on Emmet’s face, while Ingo tries not to laugh.
- He’s very kind, caring, compassionate, loving, maybe a little shy, but he warms up to others quickly, though he keeps to himself a lot, with friends or closer he gets playful, especially with rough housing. He’s a bit of a worry wot too, always fretting over the smallest scratch.
- It surprises no one that Arthur is demisexual, panromantic, he doesn’t have a preference, as long as it’s someone he has a connection with, and trusts.
- He had to baby proof some of his Pokémon, and Ferrothorn was NOT happy about the styrofoam balls that had to be placed on its spikes.
- Very active in their lives, Arthur adores his sons and made sure to teach them everything they needed to know. He definitely has several pictures up in his home, and in just two big albums, with plenty of home videos of the twins’s birthdays, big moments, and every Christmas.
- He retired from gear station when the twins were two years old, and keeps a steady income via battling trainers occasionally, or helping fix up cars.
- He comes from a not so well off family, that didn’t really have the means to do road-trips, big gifts, or family outings often, so he makes sure the twins have more than enough, and have weekly family outings.
- Even when his sons were going through different phases, there was never a rebellious stage, as they both knew Arthur would never tell them off for expressing themselves.
- Even during Ingo’s goth phase, when he snuck out of the house with some friends and got slightly drunk at a house party, he called Arthur, explained everything and how scared he was. Arthur was putting on his slippers and instantly going to get his son. He believes in safety first.
- The old man has no idea what anime or manga is, but you can bet he was in a Barnes and Nobles with Emmet, letting him pick out which mangas he wanted. And you can also bet Arthur would sit down and watch the anime with Emmet, even if he wasn’t fully into it.
- All he knows is that his sons are excited about it, and that’s all he cares about, so he is going to be invested.
- Definitely let goth Ingo paint his nails black, and you can bet he rocked it.
- Also rocked the anime merch with Emmet.
- Family game night is both loved and welcomed, and violently hated, but it depends on what games are being played, uno or monopoly? Someone is raging and this family is falling apart, DDR or just dance? The house is gonna be filled with playful roasting and cackling.
- Though one game they all play in present time is multiplayer stardew valley, as they can play it from their separate homes, and is still a tradition to play after work.
- Sometimes every now and then, Arthur will drop by the station to give his sons some lunch, and to catch up a bit during their break.
- This man is also a sap, and still has all the gifts he’s every gotten for every one of his birthdays, fathers days, and Christmases. From every sloppily made gifts Ingo and Emmet made when they were 4, to the newly bought train model the twins got him in their twenties.
- He’s very sentimental, he doesn’t care for price, as long as there was thought and meaning behind to.
- He likes to fix up cars, yes, but he also very much likes to garden, sew, and cook. He LOVES cooking for people.
- His Pokémon are pampered and spoiled, each having their own custom pet ID tags, bandanas, bows, everything.
- He’s a very clam person, preferring quiet areas as opposed to busy restaurants. He spent so many years working in the subway, where it was always loud, so it’s a nice change….though he misses it sometimes.
- Much like Ingo, he speaks loudly, years of working at gear station have made it impossible for him to NOT be loud.
- His Herdier was left with one command, and that was keep the twins safe. So when Ingo and Emmet were little, and walking around exploring, Herdier right by their sides. Even when they come home to visit, Pepper comes right next to them.
- as a thank you for reading, have some omegaverse Arthur headcanons -
- Arthur is an Alpha, an double chugs respect omega juice.
- His scent is one of sandalwood, but when silently glaring at someone, it gets a kick of cinnamon, giving his scent a sharp, heated kick to it.
- His rut scent gets a stronger smell, of heated coffee, or cedarwood.

i swear this is PROBABLY the last of the masters dialogue. either base ingo has a lot more dialogue options or i just got REALLY unlucky getting the ones on british ingo
[ID: Ingo is standing in the pokemon masters pokemon center lobby. He’s standing next to his partner Excadrill who can barely be seen in the screenshots. Ingo is in the 6-star EX version of his usual outfit with his long coat. There are two sets of images.
the first set reads, “There don’t seem to be any railways on Pasio! Although it’s not necessarily an inconvenience, it does seem a bit lonely without them, don’t you think? Some may say it’s better to go exploring on foot... But personally, it brings me great joy to transport passengers to new challenges!”
the second set reads, “Did you know that the Battle Subway is as popular as ever during the evening rush hour? We’re a well-oiled machine, my friend!” End ID.]

Pokemon Card of the Day #2817: Diancie Prism Star (Forbidden Light)
Tumblr media
Diancie Prism Star fit into the Forbidden Light set rather nicely. This was a set with a decent amount of good Fighting-types, and adding another damage boost on top of that was always nice. It was basically a single Prize Regirock-EX that did its job even better, but with all of the costs of being a Prism Star meaning that the competition still had a place too. With Fighting as a type being all about the damage boosts piling up at the time, here was another way to add to that.
120 HP was just low enough that Diancie Prism Star could be targeted by a lot of Pokemon that had been set up if that was a good move, though most of the time would probably be spent dealing with the immediate attackers in many cases. The Grass Weakness didn’t really mean much since the top Grass-type, Golisopod-GX, hit for 120 already. The Retreat Cost here was 2, meaning you’d be using a Float Stone, Guzma, or something similar if you got stuck opening with this.
Princess’s Cheers was a really nice Ability that worked when Diancie Prism Star was on your Bench. The attacks from your Fighting-type Pokemon did 20 more damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon. This came at a time where Regirock-EX already added 10 damage in the same way and each attached Strong Energy added 20. An attacker like Buzzwole-GX could hit decently hard for little Energy or really hard for 3, and powering up Lycanroc-GX, Buzzwole, or Zygarde-GX was never bad. While the concept fell off a bunch once the other damage help rotated out, 20 damage was still a help for any Fighting-types still being used, even for some offbeat things like Excadrill.
Diamond Rain was just 90 damage for 3 Fighting Energy that also let you heal 30 from each of your Benched Pokemon. Diancie Prism Star wasn’t good as an attacker, and having it up front risked it being Knocked Out and sent off to the Lost Zone.
DIancie Prism Star was a very common inclusion in the powerful BKT-On Fighting-type decks, whether helping out one of the Buzzwole cards, Zygarde-GX, Lycanroc-GX, or whatever combination you wanted. Even other formats gave it a few spots, as later on there was occasional Excadrill play and Expanded used it with HItmonchan for a while. If 20 damage could make a difference against important Pokemon for any Fighting-type, including Diancie Prism Star was a very good idea.

The energy on the pitch was electric, but that was to be expected when Leon was in the picture. It seemed like the battle hungry people of Galar came out in full force to support their Ex-champion. Walking out slowly to the cheers and roar of the crowd- People chanting both of their names, statements of pride for their home region in their native tongues.
Viva la Paldea!!
Stopping at her position, she leveled Leon with a glare that screamed focus and determination… “You wanted a conversation, yeah? Then let my treasures do the talking. Don’t you dare hold back!” She calls, thrusting her fists down and shoving her hands into her pockets, assuming that usual cool facade she always seemed to have when battling.
And then the Terrain changed, the floor beneath them changing to a hard steel surface, sureounded by the heat of furnaces and the hiss of steam- Ironworks… Oh, Fafnir wasn’t gonna like this.
Removing her hands from her pockets, she brought one close, tightening the glove with the Logo on her wrist by grabbing the strap with her teeth and pulling on it, buttoning it down and then finally pulling Adniels ball from her belt. The garchomp roared as it hit the field, facing down the others Dragapult… The dragons exchanged blows as they soared through the air, Adniel finding it difficult to manage with Dragapults naturally whispy body, and the fact it specialized in long range wound up being its downfall.
Next was Gremlin against his Leafeon, and while Gremlins agile movements served it well, it was hardly a match for the seasoned, and ornery Leafeon, and fell to the onslaught… Much to her dismay.
Next was Smudge versus Inteleon, and apparently slighted by a previous fight, the Inteleon brought an extremely relentless offense that saw the young Gastrodon fall immediately… And her next ball was brought out with shaky hands.
Before her now stood one of the scariest pokemon she had ever seen… She didn’t KNOW what it was, a giant bear? Urshifu… It radiated with the strength and energy of a legendary pokemon, though, and she found herself quivering because of it… Things were going so poorly- How could she be faltering this hard? Worry coursed through her whole body… And then was replaced by resolve as she cast the ball forward- Clodsire emerged with a loud cry, and a goofy smile, a complete 180 to its opponent, but she wasn’t done.
“Lets give it a shot…” A bright flash of rainbow energy echoed from her as she tapped the keystone, the sudden rush of energy between her and Bappy genuinely scared her for a brief moment- but just looking at him she could see the determination in his eyes, and practically feel their bond resonating as he was suddenly encapsulated in what looked like- to her- Terastal phenomenon crystal, only for it to explode back outward, and in its place leave a much LARGER Clodsire absolutely COVERED in spiked poisonous spines that could not be retracted, a more literal crown of spikes she had never seen.
It was almost terrifying in its absurdity… but the Urshifu charged shortly after it was complete, Poison jabs and Ice punches were thrown, and the entire stadium was quaking under the sheer force of the two titans attacks, while she could only look on in awe as Bappy spent every bit of energy he had taking a punch straight to the face and just GLARING back at the bear before using those new spikes it had to land a devastating poison jab, dropping the Urshifu, and its transformation along with it.
They had a chance… They had a chance!!
Excadril and Aegislash came out next, the shiny black and red blade made for an intimidating visage, but Kamina could care less for looks. All it saw was a shiny metal surface it wanted to cut into, and so it did, striking the sword down with a few decisive blows. The battle was close, though, it looked like both pokemon could drop at any moment, but Kamina had enough stamina to stay standing just long enough for the match to be called in its favor.
Finally it came down to the grudge match that had been brewing since she met him- Fafnir and Bahamut, Tyranitar and Charizard. Normally she’d Terastallize here, but her Orb held no charge… However, Leon still had that Mega in his pocket, and out it came. A brilliant flash of rainbow light heralded the coming of the one thing she feared the most coming into this… The giant wings and distorted roar shook her for a moment- But it was in that split second she let herself falter, casting her hand outward- Fury and fear on her face as she cried for Fafnir to use Stone edge…
…And it missed, in the critical moment, it missed, and Between the iron terrain and the heat, Fafnir failed to defend itself against the others onslaught, finally falling.
…Her heart sank into her stomach, and the world deafened around her to a muffled roar as she watched Fafnir fall to the ground, and instead of recalling him, she sprinted onto the pitch as the match was called in Leons favor, sliding on her knees and throwing her arms around Fafnir and hiding her face in his spines as she fought back every urge to cry right then and there
It was over, she lost.
She wasn’t out of the tournament yet, but by god did this sting- It stung worse then a hive of angry beedrill, a battle that violently swung from loss to victory and then back to loss overwhelmed her in a way she couldn’t quite process… And yet she had to force herself to swallow it down as quickly as she could, her whole body shuddering as she finally recalled Fafnir to his ball. “You did well, Bud… Rest, you tried your best.”
Standing, she approached Leon, wearing the biggest- yet forced- smile she could muster, offering her hand to shake. “I expected nothing less… Thank you for the wonderful battle, and good luck.”

Ok so uh hi new guy here. Had some ideas for a RWBY Pokémon trainer AU kinda thing. So uh here goes.
These are my team ideas and how they got them thoughts for Team RWBY. This also includes Delta Pokémon and Megas from the fan game Pokemon Insurgence.
Ruby’s Team:
1. Budew that Yang helped her catch as her starter from a young age. By the time the show starts it’s already a Roserade.
2. Zoroark, formerly Summer’s Pokémon. Fiercely protective of Ruby and loyal to the family.
3. Scizor. Formerly Summer’s as well, a reliable battler and the mega on both Ruby and Summer’s teams.
4. Type-Null. A mysterious Pokémon Ruby found at Beacon in a lab belonging to an ex-professor who had been fired from Beacon (a reference to the villain of Grimm Eclipse the video game). It would evolve during the events of Vale’s Fall.
5. Drilbur, a Pokémon Ruby befriended at Mountain Glenn during Volume 2 and evolves into Excadrill during the fight at Haven Academy.
6. Delta Emolga aka Little, a strange Pokémon that Ruby encounters when separated from everyone on Ever After.
I would say in this AU that because of how Tai supposedly falls apart from the loss of Summer, Ruby ends up growing closer to Pokémon to the point where she can hear them similar to N and Iris. I would also say that in this AU that silver eyes allow the ones with them to activate bond based gimmicks like Megas without the components, so long as you are aware of them. For that reason alone, that kind of thing is very rare to find in Remnant.
Weiss’s Team:
1. A Snorunt that becomes a Froslass before the beginning of series 1. A gift from Winter and has gone through the same sort of upbringing as Weiss so they’re MIRROR images of each other.
2. Hisuian Sneasal, a gift from Winter to congratulate Weiss on getting into Beacon but one with the lesson of how to be around those with more “wild and erratic behaviour” like Weiss’s classmates. Becomes a Sneasler upon the return to Atlas
3. A Ralts caught during the school trip to the Forever Fall Forest. It would help Weiss with her emotions as her withdrawal from them would only cause Ralts harm. As Weiss learns to accept her emotions and come into her own, Ralts would evolve into Kirlia by Series 1’s end with the acceptance of Blake; and into Gardevoir when Weiss speaks out for her classmates at her father’s party in season 4. This would become one of her Megas during the Hound’s attack in Volume 8.
4. Zangoose, a Pokémon given to her by Raven as form of an apology for the kidnapping (and also to curry favour with Yang). A brutal fighter but becomes loyal seeing how Jacques affects Weiss, and how Weiss defends him from Jacques attempting to “get rid of the vermin”.
5. Absol, a Pokémon caught in Atlas that comes to warn them about Tyrian. It would later come out of it’s pokeball when Ironwood turns on them and any additional time they were in serious danger. It would come bearing a mega stone, as it was secretly once Klein’s Pokémon.
6. Kubfu, a gift from Willow after the attack on the Schnee manor. Given to Weiss for her strength and courage. It would evolve into the Multi-Strike Urshifu in Ever After from experiencing the vastness of the ocean.
Blake’s Team:
1. Litten, a gift from Ghira to ensure Blake would have the strength to follow her convictions. It would be a Torracat by series start and evolve into Incineroar during the battle at the Belladonna Manor.
2. Riolu, a gift from Kalli to ensure Blake was surrounded by those she could trust. This little one would be the first indication that something was wrong with Adam and the White Fang. It would evolve into Lucario in the fight where Blake and Sun meet on the ship in vol 4; and become her mega during the final fight against Adam.
3. Starly, a common Pokémon she catches during the forest trial back in Vol 1 which she uses to find the shrine with the relics in record time. It evolves in the fight with Roman’s mech (that looks like a tyranitar in this au) into Staravia; and evolves again into Staraptor to save Blake and Yang from Adam in Vol 3’s Fall of Vale.
4. Axew, a cute little fella she catches in Menagerie while scouting for Illia. It evolves into Fraxure in the charge against the White Fang at Haven; and into Haxorus to save her from the acid spitting Grimm at Schnee Manor. It is also shiny and Blake finds the mega stone for it in Ever After.
5. Sobble, found in the fountain of the town from Volume 6, evolves into Drizzile while fighting the mech and then into Inteleon against the Ace Ops.
6. Johtoan Sneasal, befriended in the dust mines of Atlas after it got its leg caught in rock and was freed by Blake. Very loyal and one of the few to keep up with her on rooftops. Evolves into Weavile after being given a razor claw by Robyn for telling her about Ironwood’s plans.
Yang’s team:
1. Jangmo-o, her starter given to her by Tai (the child of his own Kommo-o). Yang’s sparring partner, evolves into Hakamo-o in the Yellow Trailer and then again into Kommo-o in the final fight against Adam. Can use it’s Z-Move.
2. Teddiursa, a Pokémon she caught in Patch, is an Ursaring by Vol 1, evolves again into Ursaluna in Volume 4 to give Yang the fire to go back into the world.
3. Impidimp, a Pokémon she catches during her recovery period in Vol 4. Becomes Morgrem when she confronts Raven at her camp and becomes Grimmsnarl against the Ace Ops.
4. Murkrow, a gift from Raven (a child of Raven’s Honchkrow), the behaviour of it is a glimpse at how Raven would’ve raised Yang, evolves into Honchkrow during the rescue of Oscar.
5. Blitzle, a Pokémon caught in mistral to help tow her bike to the farm in Vol 6. Strong and hardy, it evolves into Zebstrika to save Ruby from Neo in Vol 8. Yang would find it’s mega stone in Ever After.
6 Torchic, upon arriving in Atalas and getting their licenses, Qrow would approach Yang to give her this little floof and exclaim how proud he is of her (cause we need more of them together I swear to god). After some training with her team it would quickly become Combusken during the Vol 7 training montage and become a Blaziken to shield Yang from the Oscar-Hazel explosion in Vol 8 and would be gifted a Mega Stone by Willow for her efforts to protect her family from the Hound.
