Doggo, Potansiyeli Yüksek, İşini Ve Hayvanları Seven İnsanların Bir Araya Gelerek Güç Kattığı Bir Organizasyon. 7 İlçede Toplam 400 Doggo Walker’ı Mevcut.

“Köpeklerin dostluğu kalıcıdır. Arkandan konuşmazlar ve yarı yolda bırakmayı hiç bilmezler.” demiş ünlü tiyatro yazarı Bernard Shaw. Köpeklerle insanların dostluğu o kadar eskilere dayanır ki insanlık tarihinin neredeyse her aşamasında bu ilişkiden bahsetmek mümkündür. “En iyi dost ya da en sadık dost” olarak tanımlanmalarının sebebi köpeklerin sahipleriyle aralarındaki duygusal bağın kuvvetinden kaynaklanır. Bu sadakat ilişkisinde kanaatkâr davranan ve bir tas yemek, biraz ilgiyle yetinmeyi bilen köpeğin tek beklentisi sahibiyle kuracağı sahici ve ömürlük bir duygusal temastır.

Hiç Kimsenin Yeterince Zamanı Yok Günümüzde yoğun iş hayatı, büyükşehirlerin kendine özgü keşmekeşi, günün uzun bir bölümünü ofislerde geçiren kentli bireylerin kendilerine ve bu gerçek dostluğa daha az zaman ayırmasına neden olmakta. Tek başına yaşayan, yoğun iş hayatı dolayısıyla ve çoğu zaman evde vakit geçiremeyen köpek sahiplerinin en büyük problemlerinden biri, köpek dostlarını düzenli olarak gezdirmeye vakit bulamamaları. Oysaki onların hem ruhsal hem de biyolojik olarak günlük asgari bir fiziksel efor sarf etmeleri, açık alanlarda en az 45 dakika boyunca yürümeleri gerekli. Bu şekilde enerjilerini dengeleyebilir, sosyalleşme ihtiyaçlarını evin dört duvarı arasından uzaklaşarak giderebilirler. En iyi dostlarımız bu aktiviteye her gün ihtiyaç duyarken bizlerin buna her zaman vakit bulamayışı yeni bir iş kolu ortaya çıkarmış.

Köpek Gezdiriciliği “Dog walker” yani köpek gezdiriciliği… Yurt dışında büyük metropollerde oldukça yaygın olan bu iş kolu ülkemizde son dönemlerde popüler olmaya başladı. Genelde part-time olarak gerçekleştirilen ve üniversite öğrencileri başta olmak üzere gençler arasında ilgi gören bu mesleği icra edenlere “walker” deniyor. Walker’lar köpeklerine yeterince zaman ayıramayan hayvanseverlerin imdadına yetişiyor. Sabah veya akşam saatlerinde ortalama 45 dakikalık bu yürüyüş hizmetini profesyonelce sunmak için gerekli donanıma ve eğitime sahip walker’ları bünyesinde barındıran on-line sistemler bile oluşmaya başlamış durumda. Evcil hayvan sahiplerine güvenli ve profesyonel olarak köpek gezdirme hizmeti sağlayan bu alandaki Türkiye’nin ilk profesyonel mobil uygulama altyapısını kuran DogGO bunlardan biri. Mobil uygulama üzerinden köpek gezdirme hizmeti hem kolay erişebilme hem de her an denetleme olanağı sunduğundan pek çok köpek dostunun gözdesi durumunda. Girişim bu hizmetle beraber bir bakıma hayvanseverlere günümüzde paha biçilemeyen bir şeyi, zamanı satın alma fırsatı veriyor. DogGO’nun kurucularından Cansu Tokuç, birkaç lise ve üniversite arkadaşından oluşan bir ekiple köpek gezdiriciliği kültürünü on-line bir girişim hâline getirme hikâyelerinin başlangıcını anlatıyor.

“DogGO çok ortaklı bir girişim ve hepimizin bu organizasyona farklı katkıları oluyor. Örneğin ben pazarlama departmanının sorumluluğunu üstlendim. Lise ve üniversiteden tanışan yedi arkadaşın kolektif aklını, emeğini ve tecrübesini ortaya koyduğu bir oluşum bu. Fikri bulan arkadaşlarım Mehmet Gürsoy ve Ömercan Dede, yazılım uygulamalarımızın başındaki Barış Karan, finans birimimizi yöneten Cem Doğancı, operasyon hizmetlerimizin başında Cem Elibol ve işe alım departmanımızın sorumlusu Ilgım Kılıç’la senkronize bir ekip çalışması sonucunda DogGO’yu yönetiyoruz. Ayrıca Londra’da çalışıp fikir ve geliştirme konularında ekibe yardımcı olan bir diğer ortağımız Emir Çağan da ekibin bir parçası durumunda.”

Değişen Yaşamlar, Değişen İhtiyaçlar Modern zamanlar belki insana teknoloji, eğitim, sağlık ve sosyal hayatta çeşitli kolaylıklar getirdi ama aynı zamanda insanı bir kısır döngüye de soktu. Rutin günlük hayatımız otonom bireyin elini kolunu bağlayıp elinden özgürlüğünü aldı. İstediği zaman istediğini yapamamak, hep bir yerlere koşturarak yetişme mecburiyeti onu doğadan, hayvanlardan, sanattan ve kendi özünden günbegün uzaklaştırdı. Cansu Tokuç da işletmelerinin başarısının kentli insanı iyi tanımakla başladığını dile getiriyor.

Bunun dışında köpek ailelerinin yapmayı sevdiği, gitmekten hoşlandığı yer ve aktivitelere katılım göstermeye çalışıyoruz. Örnek verebileceğim bir uygulamamız bile var. Kadıköy Sineması ile ortak bir çalışma bu. Sinemaya gelip film seyreden köpek ailelerine bedava yürüyüş imkânı sunuyoruz.”

Köpek Sahibi Ve Walkerlar Anlatıyor

Doggo Köpek Ailesi – Neslihan Yılmaz (Çaki) Merhaba, adım Neslihan. 36 yaşındayım ve bir ilaç şirketinde finans bölümünde yönetici olarak çalışıyorum. Köpek gezdiriciliği evinde bir hayvanla yaşamak istemeyen veya mesaili çalışmayan insanlara belki çok şey ifade etmiyor olabilir ama benim gibi hem köpek âşığıysanız hem de hafta içi her gün çalışmak zorundaysanız o zaman gerçekten hayalinizi gerçekleştirmeniz için en büyük desteğiniz diyebilirim. Hem ben işteyken köpeğim gezdirilip tekrar evine bırakılıyor; gün içinde ofiste içim rahat ediyor, hem de akşamları, hafta sonları yine zamanım dar olduğunda en yakın DogGO walker imdadımıza yetişiyor.

Walker – Yiğit Kaykaç Merhaba, ben Yiğit Kaykaç. 1997 İstanbul doğumluyum. Doğuş Üniversitesi İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı öğrencisiyim. Köpek gezdiriciliği benim için bir tür psikologluk olarak tanımlanabilir. Bir eğitim sürecine sokuyoruz köpekleri aslında. Eğitim almış bir DogGO walkerın haftanın 7 günü sabah akşam 45’er dakikadan yürüyüş yapması o köpeğin bir ay sonra çok daha huzurlu hale gelmesini sağlıyor. Kısaca, sürekli olarak onlara fayda sağlıyoruz ve her şeyden önce bir gönüllü olarak bu beni çok mutlu ediyor. DogGO sürekli olarak büyümekte olan bir şirket. Geleceğe dair çok güzel projeleri olduğunu düşünüyorum. Biz walkerlara da birçok açıdan katkısı olacağına eminim. Eğitimler, gönüllü işleri, etkinlikler vs. sayesinde birçok kişiye istihdam sağlıyorlar. Günde yaklaşık 4,5 saatlik bir çalışmayla aylık masraflarımı rahatlıkla karşılayabilecek bir kazanç elde ediyorum.

Gerçek Bir Dostluk Hikâyesi Gerçek bir olaydan yola çıkılarak sinemaya uyarlanan “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” filmini pek çoğumuz izlemişizdir. Üniversitesine giden bir profesörün tren istasyonunda tesadüfen bulduğu akita cinsi bir köpek ile aralarında oluşan sevgi, merhamet ve yoldaşlık ilişkisini konu alır. Hachiko, her sabah tren istasyonundan uğurladığı profesörü akşamları da yine aynı istasyonda karşılar. Profesör öldükten sonra Hachiko sahibini aynı yerde 9 yıl bekler. Hikâye gerçek bir olaydan esinlendiğinden bugün Japonya’nın Shibuya İstasyonu’nun bitişiğindeki anıt heykel, bu gerçek dostluğa tanık olmak isteyenler tarafından ziyaret edilmektedir.

Köpek Gezdiricileri Köpek gezdiriciliği için başvuran kişilerin çok büyük bir çoğunluğu, üniversitede okuyan ve ek gelir elde etmek isteyen gençlerden oluşuyor. Kadın başvuru oranı da azımsanmayacak kadar çok. Başvuran bir diğer grup ise daha sakin bir iş isteyen hayvanseverler ve ev hanımları.

Walker’lara Oryantasyon Eğitimi Basit ve deneyim gerektirmeyen bir iş gibi görünse de köpek gezdirme hizmetinde her türlü ihtimal göz önünde bulunduruluyor. Walker’lara iki etaptan oluşan oryantasyon eğitimi veriliyor. Biri köpek eğitmenleri ve ilk yardım ekipleriyle hazırlanan video müfredat, diğeri pratik oryantasyon. Kısa bir sınav ve uygulama ile eğitim tamamlanıyor.

Evcil Hayvan Kültürü Ülkemizde henüz bilinirliği çok kısıtlı olan köpek gezdiriciliğinin kent ve kentlilik bilinci çerçevesinde de önemli bir yeri var. Evcil hayvan kültürü çoğunlukla kentlerde görülebilen bir yaşam biçimi olduğundan bizlere de çeşitli görevler düşüyor. Hayatı, mahalleleri, sokakları ve evlerimizi paylaştığımız en sıkı dostlarımız için çeşitli sorumluluklarımız bulunuyor.

The control is an illusion, especially when it applies to the nature and animals.

It is this that remind us of the famous film Jurassic Park of Steven Spielberg, out in the rooms in 1993, and the eponymous novel by Michael Crichton, published three years earlier. Despite the precautions taken, the dinosaurs created by bio-engineering, on the initiative of the billionaire John Hammond, beyond any human control and plunge into chaos the park which was supposed to make them objects of entertainment. The film and the novel prophesy the fall of mankind technological, domineering and arrogant, ours, that must replace a society more just and more respectful, that symbolizes the granddaughter of John Hammond, Alexis Murphy, vegetarian, as Marie Huot. In 2024, Paris will host the Summer Olympic Games. Paris, the “City of Light”; Paris, who loves circuses with animals; Paris, which admits that a single Twinning, with Rome, because ��only Paris is worthy of Rome, only Rome is worthy of Paris”. Therefore Welcome to the Summer Olympic Games in 2024! Welcome to Jurassic Paris! In fact, the causes are multiple, internal as external. First, as the note the order of the doctors in his last atlas on the medical demography, the profession is aging. And the staff among general practitioners -?therefore among the physicians in the first recourse?- have experienced a decline of nearly 10?% these last ten years. The medical exercise has also changed. Increasingly feminized (47?% of doctors are women), the profession favors today the joint exercise (liberal and labor), and not simply one in Cabinet. Hence the success of health houses. In eight years, more than 1?000 are created. But this is not enough to revitalize the territories which are empty. Has these changes internal to the profession is added a social context which aggravates the situation?: the most disadvantaged areas from a medical point of view are also those who accumulate the most of frailty in socio-economic terms, with a higher rate of chronic diseases, in older populations or with the lowest incomes. “All this is clearly shown along a diagonal of the empty inside, who will of the Ardennes and the Meuse to the Hautes-Pyrénées and the Ariege,” explains the order of the doctors. What to do, then, beyond the effects of announcements?? This time, not of triumphalism in the plan of the government. As in the previous ones, there is always the refusal displayed of binding measures to push the doctors to settle in areas under-equipped. And the clear desire to foster the development of health houses. Tele-medicine During his presidential campaign, Emmanuel Macron had in fact referred to the creation of 1?000 new establishments. Why not?? But this cannot be decreed, the health houses who succeed are those that are designed and decided locally and not by the authorities. On Friday, the Prime Minister has explained, not without reason, build on the “confidence to health professionals and local initiatives” and “on the administrative simplification”. The Government has also listed the major axs of work?: “new ways to exercise between the city and the hospital”, “tele-medicine”, “advanced practices” to enable, for example, to nurses to practice acts usually reserved to physicians. In the detail, the cumulation employment-retirement of physicians Liberals will be facilitated. And practitioners will be encouraged to exercise part-time in areas under-equipped thanks to an upgrading of their premiums. PG13, despite playing primarily as the second option for the Thunder, finished 17th in the league in scoring (21.9 points per game), falling just behind like Lou Williams, Kemba Walker, and Bradley Beal, and ahead of the Blake Griffin, CJ McCollum, and Karl-Anthony Towns. He also finished second in steals per game (2.0 spg), and while that’s often not a good gauge of defensive prowess, I think we all know George just IS a dynamic defender (versus gambling for steals). He was the runner up to Victor Oladipo, but better than Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons, Robert Covington, Chris Paul, Anthony Davis, and Ricky Rubio. Finally, he ranked in the Top 10 in Defensive Win Shares, tied with the Dwight Howard and Rudy Gobert, but ahead of Joel Embiid and Al Horford. Point being that Paul is pretty much prodigious in almost every aspect of the game.

The way that PG powers to the basket is a little underrated. To say that he’s wiry strong, like KD and KG before him, is to undervalue him; Paul is legitimately strong, and you’ll see that strength exhibited in how easily a slight bump from him discards/dislodges defenders. Couple that with his hellacious handle and his ability to be on balance as he shifts, twists, and turns to create space to shoot and you’ve got the makings of a man who can just get buckets. He’s brilliant at that quick change of pace AND change of direction that will get a defender leaning one way, and he’ll either rise up right then and there, or power pack to the rack. The man manufactures space much like his idols did: from Kobe to TMac to Penny, he’s got the size, the skill, and the ability to kill from anywhere and everywhere on the floor.

It seems almost effortless how efficient his shot motion is, and the foundation for everything he does is based on his almost flawless footwork. No matter where he ends up next season, he’s still just hitting his prime, and that should be a frightening prospect for the league for years to come.”

Sadece grubun en yaşlısı Jack zincirini koparmaz ve orada Jerry'i beklemeye devam eder. Kutup Macerası Başlıyor: Filme Esin Kaynağı Olan Gerçek Kurtuluş Öyküsü Senaryosunu David DiGilio'nun yazdığı filmde, ''Antarctica / Nankyoku Monogatari'' adlı 1983 yapımı Japon filmine temel olan 1957 yılındaki gerçek Antarktika yolculuğundan esinlenildi. Yapımcı David Hoberman, ''Nanykoku Monogatari'' (Antarctica) adlı Japon filmini izlediğinde heyecandan adeta soluğu kesilmişti. Filmde güney kutbunda mahsur kalan köpeklerle onları kaderine terk etmemeye kararlı insan dostlarının öyküsü anlatılıyordu. İradenin yenilmez gücünü anlatan epik öyküsüyle o dönemin en yüksek hasılat getiren Japon filmi ünvanını elde eden ''Nanykoku Monogatari'', beş yıldan uzun süre gişe hasılat rekorunu elinde tutmaya devam etti. Klasik macera destanları geleneğine uygun tarzda gelişen filmde, heyecan, gerilim ve duygusallık gibi unsurların hepsi son derece güçlü şekilde verilmişti. Filmde altı çizilen temaları daha geniş izleyici kitlelerinin görmesi gerektiğini düşünen Hoberman, Japon yapımı filme kıyasla daha az rahatsız edici; dostluk ve hayatta kalma kavramları arasındaki kalıcı bağlantıyı ön plana çıkaran aileye yönelik bir film öngördü. Daha sonra sırasıyla, keşif yolculuğunun trajedisini geride bırakıp oradan kaçmak isteyen jeolog Davis'i; yaptığı esprilerle Antarktika'nın karanlık ve buzlu ortamına renk getiren gamsız Cooper'ı ve bu zor kurtarma görevinde Jerry'e her türlü desteği veren kadın pilot Katie karakterini yarattı. İnsan karakterlerin yaratılmasının ardından sıra kızak köpeklerine geldi. İnsanlardaki dostluk, sadakat ve cesaret gibi özelliklerin aynısını sergileyen sekiz kızak köpeğinin yaratılmasında hayal gücünün çok büyük önemi vardı. Kendisi de köpek sahibi olan DiGilio, köpeklerin kullandığı vücut dilini, sosyal yapısını ve ruhsal dünyasını belirlerken kendi deneyimlerinden bol bol yararlandı. Köpeklerle dostluk yapmanın getirdiği keyfe yabancı değildi ama kendi deneyimleriyle sınırlı kalmak istemiyordu. Bu nedenle köpek davranışları üzerinde daha geniş kapsamlı bir araştırmaya girişti. İnsanlarla köpeklerin birlikte gelişiminin özgün tarihçesini öğrendi. Bu araştırmayı yaparken tek amacı, insan arkadaşlarıyla yeniden kavuşabilmek için hayatta kalma mücadelesi veren köpeklerin iç dünyasının heyecan verici portresini çizebilmekti. Köpeklerle İnsanların 14.000 Yıllık Dostluğu Senaryo yazarı, yaptığı araştırmanın sonucuyla ilgili olarak şu bilgiyi veriyor: ''İnsan ile köpek arasındaki ilişkinin bundan 14.000 yıl önceye kadar gittiğini birçokları bilmez. Eğer köpek sevgisiyle dolu bir insansanız bu dostluğu birinci elden mutlaka görmüşsünüzdür. Hayvanlarımızla bizler arasında son derece özgün ve güçlü bir ilişki modeli vardır. Bu ilişki karşılıklı gerçek anlaşmaya ve sıra dışı bir sevgi temeline dayalıdır.'' ''Eight Below''un senaryosunu yazarken en çok köpeklerle ilgili bölümlerden keyif aldığını vurgulayan David DiGilio, bu konudaki izlenimlerini şu sözlerle aktarıyor: ''Tüm projenin en sevdiğim yanı buydu. Köpek sahibi olan herkesin çok yakından tanıdığı bir duygu vardır. Onları bir hayvandan çok sanki kişiliği olan bir insanmış gibi algılarız. Köpeklerin kişilik yapısını ve grup dinamiklerini keşfe çıkarken bu duygudan fazlasıyla yararlandım. Bu öyküde evcilleştirilmiş köpekler vardır. Antarktika buzları arasında çaresiz kalınca kendi vahşi kökenlerini keşfetmek zorunda kalırlar. Bugüne kadar hep, 'insan doğaya karşı' öyküleri izledik. Köpeklerin son derece zorlu koşullar altında mücadele vermeye başlamasından bir süre sonra yepyeni ve sürpriz bir lider doğar. Beklenmedik anda lider konumuna gelen bu köpek, keşif yolculuğu başlamadan önce oldukça çekingen ve itaatkar bir köpek olan Max'tır. Gerçek gücünü Antartika'nın zorlu ve acımasız doğa koşulları altında bulmuştur. Max karakterindeki değişimle ilgili olarak David DiGilio şu yorumu yapıyor: ''Max'ın öyküsünün bir bakıma Jerry'nin duygusal değişimiyle paralellik gösterdiğini söyleyebiliriz. Maceraperest Ruhlu Yönetmen David DiGilio'nun ''Eight Below'' için yazdığı senaryoda büyük bir fikirden yola çıkılmıştı ama beyazperdeye aktarılması hiç de kolay olmayacaktı. Böyle bir projenin başına maceraperest ruhlu bir yönetmenin geçmesi gerekiyordu. ''Eight Below'' için aranan özelliklerin hepsi, Hollywood'un en maceraperest ruhlu yönetmenlerinden birisi olan Frank Marshall da bulundu. DiGilio'nun yazdığı senaryoyu ilk okuduğunda, gerçekten yaşanmış bir olaydan yola çıkıldığını bilmediğini söyleyen Frank Marshall, en zor zamanlarımızda bizi kurtaran cesaret, dostluk ve kendini feda etme gibi kavramların işlenmesinden etkilendiğini belirtiyor ve şöyle konuşuyor: ''Senaryoda farklı alt başlıklar altında irdelenen konuları çok sevdim. Macerayı, köpekleri, doğayla baş başa olmayı severim. Kurtuluş ve umut üzerine öyküler her zaman favorim olmuştur. Bunların yanı sıra ekrana taşınması zor olan konuları üstlenmeyi severim. 'Eight Below'un senaryosunu okuduğum ilk andan itibaren tam bana göre bir proje olduğunu hissettim.'' Frank Marshall sözlerini şöyle sürdürüyor: ''Senaryonun en cazip yönlerinden birisi, insan ruhunun uçsuz bucaksız doğasını, insan iradesinin en ekstrem koşullar altında bile güçlü kalabileceğini anlatması oldu. Burada olağanüstü koşullar altında en iyiyi başarmak zorunda kalan sıradan insanlar ve sıradan hayvanlar üzerine bir öykü var. İmkansızı başarması gereken köpeklerin mücadelesine öncelik verilmiş. Senaryoyu okuduktan sonra 1958 yılında Japonların gerçekleştirdiği Antarktika keşif yolculuğunu ve o yolculuğu konu alan filmin varlığını öğrenen Frank Marshall, öncelikle Japon filminin yapımcısı Masaru Kakatani ile tanışmak istedi. 1958 yılındaki keşif yolculuğuna katılan ekip üyelerinin anılarıyla ilgili kapsamlı bilgileri Masaru Kakatani'den aldı. Ayrıca, dünyanın en seçkin kızak köpekleri yarışı olarak bilinen Iditarod'u dört kez kazanan arkadaşı Susan Butcher ile de bağlantı kurdu. Yarışlara katılan köpeklerin yaşam biçimleri ve yetenek düzeyleri konusunda bilgi aldı. Kızaklara bağlı köpeklerin ekip halinde nasıl çalıştığını öğrendi. Kızak köpeklerinin dünyasını yansıtmak için detaylı bilgi aldı. Çekimler Kanada ve Grönland'da Yapıldı İlk araştırmalarını başarıyla tamamlayan Frank Marshall'ı bundan sonrasında daha zorlu bir görev bekliyordu. Antarktika kıtasının buzlarla kaplı ve olağanüstü zor hava koşullarında geçen ''Eight Below''un çekimleri, British Columbia eyaletinin kuzeyindeki Smithers adlı küçük kasabada ve Grönland adasının soğuk, karanlık ve seyrek nüfuslu bölgelerinde gerçekleştirilecekti. Hollywood'un deneyimli yönetmeni Frank Marshall, British Columbia eyaleti ve Grönland adasındaki çekimlerle ilgili izlenimlerini şu sözlerle dile getiriyor: ''Bu filmin prodüksiyonun gerçekleştirilmesi, bugüne kadar karşılaştığım en zorlu deneyim oldu. Geçtiğimiz yıllarda 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'ın çekimleri için Sahra çölünün ortasında; 'Alive'ın çekimleri için 10 bin feet yüksekliğinde buzullarda çalışma yaptım. Ancak 'Eight Below'daki koşullar onlardan en az üç kat zorluydu. Çevre koşullarının getirdiği zorluklara karşılık çok güzel yanları da vardı. Elimizdeki kadro harikaydı. Eşine ender rastlanır istisnai köpeklere sahiptik. Fantastik mekanlarda çekim yaptık. Her türlü zorluğa göğüs gererek zafere ulaşan insan ve hayvanların unutulmaz öyküsünü tüm benliğimizde hissettik.'' Kızak Köpekleri: ''Eight Below''un Merkezindeki 8 Kahraman ''Eight Below''da insan kadrosunun sergileyeceği duygularla mizahın büyük önemi vardı. Ancak Antarktika'nın buzları arasında tuzağa düşen köpeklerin cesaret, duygu ve aksiyon yüklü macerasını beyazperdeye yansıtacak yetenekte sekiz tane 'köpek aktör' bulunamadığı takdirde hiçbirisinin anlamı olmayacaktı.

Filmde rol alacak hayvanların performansının öneminden yola çıkan yönetmen Frank Marshall, en yetenekli köpekleri bulabilmek için, Hollywood'un önde gelen hayvan eğitim merkezlerinden birisi olan Birds & Animals şirketinin servislerinden yararlanma yolunu izledi. Yönetmen Frank Marshall, filmde oynayacak sekiz köpeğin seçimindeki yaklaşımını şu sözlerle açıklıyor: ''Köpek rolleri için yapacağımız tercihlerin çok önemli olduğunun farkındaydık. Ayrıca oynayacak köpeklerin her birinin kendine özgü kişiliği ve dış görünümü olması da çok önemliydi. Kısacası birbirinden tamamen farklı sekiz köpeğe ihtiyacımız vardı. Filmin başarısı açısından hayati önem taşıdığı için insan aktörlerden bile önce köpek seçimine başladık.'' Yönetmen Frank Marshall'ın ''köpek aktörlerle'' ilgili yorumu şöyle: ''Bu filmde sekiz tane köpekle çalıştık ama onlar arasında benim iki favorim, Maya rolündeki Koda Bear ile Max rolündeki DJ oldu. Maya'yı oynayan Koda Bear'ın gümüş rengi tüyleriyle soylu bir görüntüsü vardı. Max'ı oynayan DJ adlı köpek ise şimdiye kadar gördüğüm hiçbir köpeğe benzemiyordu. Son derece etkileyici şekilde bakan masmavi gözleriyle mükemmel bir köpekti.'' Antarktika Yeniden Yaratılıyor: ''Eight Below''un Tasarımları Antarktika kıtası dünyanın en az ziyaret edilen, hakkında çok az detay bilinen ve çeşitli efsaneler üretilen bölgelerinden birisidir. Neredeyse tamamen ıssız bir kıta olan Antartika'nın saatte 200 mil hızla esen soğuk rüzgarları ve sıfırın altında seyreden dondurucu soğukları ünlüdür. Peki, bu kıtayla ilgili bir film çekilirken mekanların nerede ve nasıl olması gerekir? ''Eight Below''un yapımcılarının aklını kurcalayan temel soru buydu. Kalabalık oyuncu kadrosu ve teknik ekipleri Antartika'ya göndermeden çekim yapacak uygun mekanlar bulunması gerekiyordu. Yönetmen Frank Marshall bu konuda bulunan çözümü şöyle anlatıyor: ''Antartika kıtasının otantik görünümüne oraya gitmeden ulaşmanın yolunu bulmak zorundaydık. Yine de gideceğimiz yerlerin çok soğuk ve uzak bölgeler olması gerektiği gün gibi ortadaydı. Sözünü ettiğim bulmacanın çözümü ise, prodüksiyon ekiplerinin tamamının ulaşabileceği yakınlıkta soğuk, çorak ve donmuş bölgelerin bulunmasından geçiyordu. Bu konuda daha önce 'Alive' adlı filmde beraber çalıştığım mekan uzmanı Robin Mounsay'ın yardımına başvurdum. Dağ, buzul, kar, su ve uzak mekanlar konusunda teknik danışmanlık yapan Robin Mounsay, 'Dağların kralı' olarak bilinir. Dünyanın her köşesinde uygun mekan bulma konusunda üstüne yoktur.'' ''Eight Below'' ile ilgili çalışmasının startını veren Robin Mounsay, Antartika konusunda yaptığı ön hazırlıkla ilgili olarak şu bilgiyi veriyor: ''Öncelikle Antartika kıtasıyla ilgili kapsamlı bir araştırmaya giriştim. Antartika kıtasına özgü koşullara benzer ortam bulabilmek için her şeyden önce bu kıtayla ilgili geniş bilgiye ihtiyaç vardı. Dünyanın en soğuk, en çorak ve en rüzgarlı kıtası olan Antartika, gezegenimizin en güneyinde yer aldığı için 'dünyanın dibi' olarak da isimlendirilir. Kıtanın yüzde 98'i çok kalın ve kalıcı buz tabakası ile kaplıdır. Geri kalan yüzde 2'lik kısmı ise çorak kaya parçalarıdır. Tarihin hiçbir döneminde insanların yerleşimine açılmayan Antartika, dünyamız üzerindeki en son gerçek doğal ortam olarak kalmıştır. Orada sadece fok balıkları, penguenler ve kıtayı keşfetmek için giden kaşifler yaşamaktadır.'' Robin Mounsay elde ettiği bulguları aktarmaya şu sözlerle devam ediyor: ''Antartika kıtasında her yıl sadece birkaç bin insan vardır. Bunların çoğu da bilimsel keşiflerini sürdürmekte olan bilim adamlarıdır. Ekstrem hava koşulları, kutup araştırmaları, astrofizik, bitkisel ve hayvansal yaşam, küresel ısınma, buzullar, deniz bilimi ve meteorolojik araştırmalar konusunda mükemmel bir doğal laboratuvar işlevi görür. İnsanoğlunun ilk ayak bastığı 19. yüzyıldan beri, dünyanın her köşesinden gelen en cesur kaşiflerin ve bilimsel araştırmacıların ilgi odağı haline gelmiştir.'' Antartika'daki ortamın benzerini bulmak için araştırmasını hızlandıran Robin Mounsay, aradığı koşulları Kanada'nın British Columbia eyaletinde buldu. Bu eyaletin başkenti Vancouver'in 1.200 kilometre kuzeyindeki kayak sporlarıyla ünlü kasabası Smithers, Antartika'nın vahşi ortamını yansıtabilecek tüm özelliklere fazlasıyla sahipti. Robin Mounsey ayrıca buzullarla kaplı Grönland adasını da dolaşarak filmin en görkemli doğa manzaralarının çekiminin burada yapılabileceğine karar verdi. İlave çekimlerin bir kısmı da British Columbia eyaletinin Alaska sınırındaki Hyder adlı kasaba çevresinde gerçekleştirildi. Ayrıca kurtarma ekiplerinin Antartika buzlarını kırdığı sahnelerin çekimiyle ilgili olarak Norveç'in Spitzbergen kasabasından getirilen buz kırıcılar görevlendirildi. Eksi 25 Derecede Hummalı Çalışma Filmin prodüksiyon tasarımcısı John Willet, Smithers kasabasına gelişinde inanılmaz bir tabloyla karşılaştı. Sıfırın altında 25 dereceye ulaşan soğuklarda hummalı çalışma devam ediyordu. Ellerini donduran şiddetli soğuk ve rüzgar altında çalışan ekipler, Antartika'daki çeşitli bilimsel araştırma üslerinin benzerini kurmaya çalışıyorlardı. Ekiplerin kurduğu setler arasında Birleşik Amerika Araştırma Üssü, İtalyan üssü, Mount Melbourne ve Dewey's Drop üsleri yer alıyordu. Smithers kasabasındaki çekimlerin son derece zorlu koşullar altında gerçekleştirildiğini belirten yönetmen Frank Marshall, bölgedeki koşulları şu sözlerle anlatıyor: ''Özellikle hava koşullarına bağlı sürekli zorluklar vardı. Hava koşullarının 10 dakika içinde dramatik biçimde değişmesi sonucunda her gün için üç farklı sahne hazırladık. O günkü havanın nasıl olduğuna bakarak bunlardan bir tanesini seçiyorduk. Çekimlerin neredeyse tamamının kar, soğuk ve nem ortamında geçtiğini söyleyebilirim. Diğer problemlerin yanı sıra, kamera lensleri önünde uçuşan kar taneleri bile başlı başına bir problem oluşturdu.'' Filmin oyuncu kadrosu ve teknik ekipleri, çekimler sırasında parkalarının üzerine giydikleri 5 kat kalınlıktaki termal giysilerle ve dağcı gözlükleriyle çalışma yaptılar. Dış görünüm olarak birbirine benzeyen teknik ekiplerle oyuncuları birbirinden ayırmak bile oldukça zor oldu. ''Eight Below''un görüntü yönetmenliğini üstlenen Don Burgess, bu koşullar altında son derece mutlu görünüyordu. Bugüne kadar çektiği ekstrem belgesellerle adını duyuran, ayrıca Avrupa'daki çeşitli dünya kupası kayak yarışmalarını fotoğraflayan Don Burgess, Hollywood'daki stüdyolarda çekim yapmaktansa dağ yamaçlarındaki çekimi tercih ettiğini söylüyordu. Kalabalık teknik ekiplerle oyuncu kadrosunun Smithers'taki dağlara çıkarılıp indirilmesi de ayrı bir engel oluşturdu. Bu sorunun çözümü için Haggland ismiyle bilinen İsveç askeri araçları kullanıldı. Dış görünüm açısından tanklara benzeyen Haggland'lar sayesinde 120 kişilik ekipler sadece birkaç dakika içerisinde dağın zirvesine çıkarılabiliyordu. Haggland'ları ilk kez Grönland'da gören Frank Marshall, hemen senaryoda değişiklik yaparak bu araçlarla ilgili sahneler ekledi. Filmin çekimlerinin büyük kısmı dış mekanlarda yapıldı. Ancak oyuncular açısından çok tehlikeli olabilecek bazı sahneler için stüdyo ortamı tercih edildi. Bunlardan birisi de, insanlarla köpeklerin buz altındaki soğuk suda tehlikeyle yüz yüze kaldığı sahneydi. Prodüksiyon tasarımcısı John Willett bu sahnenin stüdyo ortamında ve ''Buz Seti'' adını verdiği teknikle çekilmesine karar verdi. Daha sonra Oscar ödüllü özel efekt sanatçısı Stan Winston'ın dijital ekipleri devreye girerek, leopar cinsi fok balıklarıyla köpeklerin epik kavgasını görüntüleme çalışması başlattılar. Köpeklerle mücadele edecek olan leopar cinsi fok balıklarının ''animatronik'' adı verilen robotları hazırlandı. Köpeklerin saldırması için üzerine ince bir tabaka yer fıstığı yağı sürüldü. Ardından kavga sahnesi dijital ortamda hayata geçirilerek filmin diğer sahnelerine eklendi. ''Eight Below'' ile ilgili son sözleri filmin yapımcılarından Pat Crowley söylüyor: ''Antartika ortamını beyazperdede yeniden yaratabilmek oldukça zorlu bir süreç gerektirdi ama elde ettiğimiz sonucun bunca emeğe değdiğini görüyoruz. Duygusal gücü çok yüksek epik bir öykü anlatırken aynı zamanda izleyiciyi bugüne kadar hiç gitmediği yerlere doğru büyüleyici bir yolculuğa çıkartmayı hedefledik. Yarattığımız dünya karşısında izleyicilerin etkileneceğini umuyorum.''

Köpekler insanların en büyük dostları olmalarının yanı sıra birbirlerini kollayan, sürü halinde yaşayan canlılardır. Kutup Macerası'nda da sürü birbirine destek vererek hayatta kalabilmiş ve onlara bakan insanları hiç unutmamışlardır. Bilirler ki onları seven insanlar onları asla yüz üstü bırakmazlar. Yemek aramak için ne kadar uzaklaşsalar da yine bırakıldıkları yere dönerler. Onların sevgisini bir kere hissetmeniz dünyanızın değişmesi için yeterlidir...
