 The acting and the blocking in episode 7 after Greta and Carson come back to the house is so good. We can feel the tension in the room. Jess, Lupe, and Esti have been back long enough for Lupe to start a game of Dominos with Maybelle, but none of them have changed clothes, so I think we can infer that they returned still pretty recently.

In this scene, Jess is full of nervous energy, pacing behind Lupe’s chair as well as rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. Given how we’ve seen this character act just last episode in two spaces where she feels really comfortable (the bar and the team house after they win), the fact that Jess is standing all by herself, not touching any of her teammates, really shows how shaken up the atmosphere of the team is after Jo’s transfer. Because when Jess is happy, she’s touchy - she hugs her teammates and grabs or pats their shoulders. In the bar, she’s hanging off of Lupe almost every time they’re on screen. In the scene above, she’s staying close to Lupe, but even though we can almost feel how much Jess wants to reach out for physical comfort, she’s stopping herself and trying to keep busy in other ways, like drinking or pacing.

I think that Jo’s arrest is not only a disruption of Greta and Carson’s bubble (Oz), but also Jess and Lupe’s. As they’ve grown more comfortable and the team has grown closer, some of the walls they have to protect themselves have come down. What happened to Jo is a devastating reminder that it’s not safe for Jess and Lupe to be visibly queer and link themselves together. The blocking in this scene illustrates just how isolated they must feel now.

For example, here’s a screenshot from Episode 6. (I think this is ep 6. Also I’m sorry about the subtitles. I was so focused on getting a good screenshot that I totally did not notice the text until making this post.) Anyway, there’s Jess and Lupe standing together in the corner as they usually do.

Now here’s a scene from Episode 7. This is where I really credit whoever did the blocking for this shot. The other girls are clumped together similarly closely as they were in the locker room one episode earlier... except Lupe and Jess, who are standing abnormally far apart.

Are these the same people from the previous episode?? Yes, BUT the environment of the team has changed now that people are reeling over Jo 1) being queer 2) being arrested 3) being traded. In this screen shot, Lupe and Jess - also the only ones obviously wearing pants - are doing everything they can not to draw attention to their friendship, because the team is no longer a safe space for them to be their authentic selves.

They are standing so far apart, there’s room for a whole other person in between them. That’s why I think this is a brilliant blocking decision, because it not only shows the strain that Jess and Lupe are obviously feeling, but it also calls attention to the fact that Jo is missing from this tableau.

What are your ships in ddlc? I noticed you do all the ships- If you ship all then what’s your favorite ship?

Now, whoever you are how did you that i was thinking of talking about my ship opinions soon?? mind wizard

SO, here’s the thing : when it comes to ships in genera it takes a lot for me to actually have OTPs and stuff and this is especially true in ddlc for me. For me shipping is more of a “sure, i could get behind this” sort of thing, except if once in a blue moon i find that one ship that alters my brain chemistry but believe it or not that has not really happened to me with any of the ddlc ships. It has happened with the game as a whole, but not really with the ships. The only one that has come close i’d say is sayonika but that’s more bc they happen to be the characters that i think about the most

That being said, i’d say i ship every ship in the game, simply because i could honestly see all of them working out in one way or another. Sure, they’re are some i like more than others but generally all of them work. And yes, this includes the Mc ships even though i like them less bc the side stories blew it out of the park with the chemistry between the girls

Speaking of the side stories, they are the sole reason i got into the shipping side of the fandom lol. The base game, as influential as it was for me, never really ignited any shipping sparks ig. I actually could not care less for the shipping before the side stories, bc most of it felt kind of trope-y ironically enough. Like, Natsuri was the big one, which was only popular bc of the whole opposite’s attract thing (not that there’s anything wrong with that ofc, it just never really resonated with me). Sayonika was a victim of what i like to call the “leftovers syndrome” where two characters are shipped bc they are the only ones left to be shipped with.

And Mc.. well let’s talk about that actually. Mc x Yuri is well… how do i put this. They have absolutely nothing in common. I don’t necessarily hate this ship however, if i see it done right i can like it. Mc x Natsuki was alright, the banter was fun, they actually have things they can talk about, it’s overall a nice ship. I will say i prefer them as close friends, but if i was to see media (fan art, fics, mods etc) where it’s done right, i can appreciate it. Mc x Sayori is also a ship i can enjoy from time to time, probably the most out of any Mc ship. Again, i do prefer talking about their friendship more though but now that i’m writing this down i realise i’m just a slut for male/female friendships. Mc x Monika truly depends on what context the characters are given. Are we talking about non-sentient Monika x Mc? Bc that can be pretty fun. If we are talking about sentient Monika x Mc, i see a very interesting dynamic (not a particularly good one) where Monika is basically using Mc as a vessel for the player in her desperation. Can Mc feel this dynamic? Does he understand in some way that he’s the second choice, even if he doesn’t know the truth about their world? How does it affect him? Its fun to ponder about this ig, but it doesn’t really make for a healthy relationship

Then the side stories came out, where the characters evolved from their one-dimensional tropes into actual personalities with enticing dynamics between them and i was immediately sold. That being said, i still don’t really have an OTP per say, bc as stated before all of them could work out. Which is definitely bc of how we get to see each of them interact individually in each side story. In every side story, we see each character interact with the other and learn how to grow as individuals because of it. I could see each pairing happening individually, i could see them being a poly couple, maybe even a qpr, or just a very close friend group too! There is a lot of love between the characters, whether that is romantic, platonic or something in between im not 100% certain on, but the love is definitely there.

Anyway, you also asked what my favourite ship would be, and i’ll probably say Sayonika since most of the media I consume tends to be with them

As someone who is ace, I wasn’t expecting to get anything out of Romantic Killer other than a good laugh. I have been hearing a lot about how its ace phobic and aro phobic and you know what, all these opinions would be right. 

I love a found family and want all of them to just live together and love each other without the whole romantic aspect of it because I love how things are. 

But despite this, I really thoroughly enjoyed the anime. I love Anzu and Kazuki and Junta, fuck it I love everyone. Especially Anzu though. 

I have a lot of thoughts about the ending of the anime especially about wtf that was about with kate and (retracted bc yuck). 

But honestly, yk, I wouldn’t think of it as the end of the world if Anzu did end up with someone because we know she’s amazing and compatible with everyone we’ve seen so far. Isn’t friendship the basis of a good relationship (not necessarily romantically) Though, that being said I would really love if the writers don’t play into “she must end up with someone” our girl is happy as is and even at the end of season one still didn’t see anyone romantically. 

She makes me really happy because I see parts of myself in her, what I wouldn’t give to have a friend like her. When she comforted Kazuki, stood up for him, supported him, fought for him, she did the same for saki and junta and will continue to do so for everyone she cares about. 

She’s amazing and definitely doesn’t need or is interested in a romantic relationship. I love her for it and I love to see it. That being said if she does end up with anyone, I don’t think it would change anything about her, and I find that comforting.

Thank you for your response to my previous question! It helped me make sense of what was going on between Sand and Ray.

I’ve seen a lot of people who are sad that Ray and Mew seem to be a thing now and as a Sand/Ray shipper I totally understand — but I’m actually glad this happened.

There was a post that I read a couple days ago (I don’t remember where unfortunately) that basically said some people just need to date each other to realize that they do not work in a romantic relationship. Ray and Mew dating or doing anything like what we saw at the end of ep 7 is just going to be a dumpster fire of a relationship and it’s not going to end well. But I think this could actually be beneficial because if this pairing was inevitable, at least it’s getting it out of the way to (hopefully) make room for Sand/Ray. Though now there’s the likelihood that Sand won’t pursue something further with Ray even though he wants to because he doesn’t feel important to Ray as Ray has constantly chose Mew over him. Hmm.

I’m curious… what do you think about this whole mess? Do you think it could actually end up helping Sand/Ray become a thing? Ray/Mew blowing up in Ray’s face might end up pushing him back into Sand’s arms bc that boy is as unstable as the weather these days and honestly I’m just hoping Ray ends up okay 😬

You're so welcome, and great questions!

I've seen that too, and I can't for the life of me remember who posted it (whoever you are - it's a great take!) The thing about unrequited love is the lack of closure. The person pining is going to continue entertaining the 'what if' because they have no proof of an outcome.

In terms of narrative, I do think Ray/Mew serves as a really valuable device. Ray can't consider a relationship with anyone else until he's gotten over Mew. For there to be any possibility of Ray/Sand, Ray needs to either let go or get it out of his system.

And we are getting the latter.

For Ray's own emotional development, he needs to understand a few vital things. One; Mew is human, not a saint. A great lesson overall in managing his expectations. Two; a romantic dynamic with Mew isn't necessarily superior than a friendship with him. I sense that Ray sees his friendship with Mew as a compromise or downgrade. But it could be just as fulfilling if he opened his mind to it. Mew has a clear idea of what he wants. So he hasn't returned Ray's pursuit of him because he can deduce why it wouldn't work. Yet, the fact Mew is now allowing it is not a compliment or means for celebration. He's purposely chosen an option he knows isn't good for him for that exact reason.

Ray has always put Mew first because he feels indebted to him 'I owe you my life (and my love too).' What Ray hasn't realised is you can still be thankful towards someone, and not have to always put them at number one. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

So yes, I think once Ray experiences this all firsthand for himself, he'll finally be able to re-evaluate his feelings for Mew. And in doing so, acknowledge what feelings he may have for Sand. I picture it as Ray is wandering through the fog, aimlessly chasing a small ray of light. But what he really needs is for the fog to clear completely before choosing which direction he wishes to move ahead in.

I find it really REALLY interesting how like... Even though they don't get much exploration of their relationship I feel like there are quite a lot of parallels between Tsumugi and Sora ? And how, contrasted to Natsume who's really not afraid of fighting for his own happiness (as we see during the war era where he never really gives up on finding revenge), both sora and tsumugi seem content only ever making others happy (ESPECIALLY NATSUME HIMSELF) and finding their happiness by proxy through that ? And how they both kinda convince themselves that their current situation is ok even if people tell them it's not ? With Tsumugi always taking even horrible things that happen with a smile, and Sora saying he doesn't feel lonely at all bc he has the plushies he can talk to, so he's fiiine !! And like I find that... So !??!?! I dunno, interesting ? And I really really wish it was explored more and not just there without ever being brought up. I feel like they really could bond over that and maybe try to not just accept the bare minimum? Idk if any of my ramblings make sense sorry I just needed to scream about it somewhere cuz sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who gives a shit about soramugi.... I hate it when people say they have "no chemistry" (not necessarily romantic just, in general) and "nothing going for them" because that's just... not true, there IS stuff and there IS depth there, it's just not explored at all and you kind of have to dig in there on your own... i feel like soras character is a very interesting middle ground between natsume and tsumugi, like ok lemme talk about natsume for a sec;

ive always read natsumes relationship with sora as natsume seeing himself in him. sora reminds natsume of the kid he used to be (the "naivety," speaking in third person, etc) which is why hes so adamant on protecting him. his treatment of sora is also a parallel to the oddballs (the desire to protect from corruption, shu being "tsundere" but soft around and unable to say no to natsume (self explanatory), rei being very "babying"/whiny (natsume tends to coddle sora and whines when sora isnt paying attention to him), wataru being natsumes shisho (natsume being soras shisho) etc etc)

im mentioning this because as you said; alot of soras personal mannerisms are more in-line with tsumugis. theyre both INCREDIBLY self-sacrificing and CONSTANTLY fail to take their own happiness into consideration, but theyre both fine with that when they really shouldnt be. this is also why i really hope that the switch climax event will center around these two specifically; because they should be able to understand each other the deepest, theyve just never had the opportunity to do so. for the both of them to grow further they need the other, because in a sense tsumugi is kinda the jaded older guy, while sora is the young one still full of so much love and wonder for the world. tsumugi can help sora maintain realistic, and sora can help tsumugi stay genuinely happy and positive.

soras part in switch is an incredibly interesting one to me, because on one hand you have natsume projecting way too much onto sora, and on the other hand you have tsumugi not projecting anything at all. esp since sora and tsumugi are probably the ones who need each other/to learn from each other the most atm. such complicated little guys dont fuck this up for me akira 💔

MIND YOU: no one in this wip knows about magic sans for the mcs and whatnot so magic existing at ALL is news to chloe. sure, she heard jenna talk all the time about how her moms were witches and shit like that (bc jenna is incapable of lying) but like everyone else she just thought jenna was weird — she didn’t think it warranted jenna being picked on BUT she did just think she was odd. so magic existing? crazy. she doesn’t know who to go to, cuz her popular friends would no way in HELL believe her if she said that some magic bs happened. so she ends up going to jenna and carlos.

carlos, is immediately suspicious of her intentions (bc he protecc) but jenna as always is pretty happy to help her. even probably says something so straightforward like “well, carlito, we have to help her. i mean, how often does your crush come up to you and ask for help?” and chloe is very HUH?????? but to be fair so so much of chloe in this story is her being like this is fucking insane and carlos is like yeah welcome to the club.

chloe ends up gaining a respect for carlos and jenna and ends up getting surprisingly close to the two of them. but it doesn’t mean she gives up or shuns her friends, though she is more vocal about people leaving jenna and carlos alone.

in terms of endgame, they’re not, never become an official couple. chloe is straight, and jenna having being autistic and ace as modifiers for being a mspec lesbian makes her not really like apt to pursue a traditional romantic relationship. she, chloe and carlos do get very close. (i can see chloe confiding in carlos and saying honeslty sometimes i wish i could be into girls and be in this world of y’all’s. i just don’t know if i’m cut out for it and carlos gives good advice etc etc). but i mean, even at the end of the day, jenna’s eventually gonna become a virtually immortal witch and immortalizes carlos as her familiar so even if she and chloe were a thing chloe would end up dying unfortunately (in the long run).

Hii I would like to ask you something if you dont mind regarding this topic since I was just wondering on this thing and would like your insight. So as I have read this in other posts and heard it from a lot of people that twinflames have very parallel lives. Like as you said in the answer of this question/post too. So this is just a thing that I read and heard from a life coach. He was talking about the same parallel lives thing saying that twinflames experience the same thing at the same time in their lives too. Like if one Tf had a broken relationship at certain time the other one also experiences a broken relationship at that time, If one had their first kiss at a certain time or age the other one too has it at the same time or age. So like if one person was sexual at a certain point in life then the other one too was sexual at the same time. There was this lady saying about twinflames that real twinflames cant be in relationship with other people other than their twinflame. If two twinflames are present on Earth at the same timeline then they cant be with other people, like she said their heart aches, they feel physical pain in their heart if they are near anyone else with romantic interest or having sexual intercourse with someone who is not their twinflame then they feel physical pain in the left hand,arm or in the heart. What do you think about this?

(Again just to clarify. This not regarding any specific person. I am asking this cause I write my own study and notes on this topic and since like to include different opinions of people)

I go back and forth on the parlellel thing. While YES, twin flames will have major life events in common, I don’t agree that they will necessarily happen at the exact same time in each other’s lives. One twin is often more spiritually advanced than the other and heals much quicker than their counterpart. I don’t really like this example since I hate encouraging age gaps, but one could be older. If one got their first kiss at 16 and as the toxic side of the tf community lovessss to encourage the age gap thing and their counterpart was 10 years younger, then their tf would be required to get their first kiss at age 6?? Yeah I don’t like that.

Another example would be me and my tf. We often go back and forth between who is runner and chaser. I realized recently that I was actually the runner because I was preventing us from reuniting because I wasn’t working on myself. I then started going to therapy and began dealing with my traumatic childhood. He started his healing work and therapy years ago while I resisted and resisted. I would always put the blame on him for being so narrow minded when it was actually me for thinking I could brush my problems under the rug. We both are healing our inner child, just at different times in our life, but still in our 20s. We have like 20+ other life similarities that also help to confirm plus all our double whammies in our synastry and composite as well. And we look alike too. About feeing the emotions and physical sensations of their Twin Flame, it is true. I do get these random sensations that are not mine. I’ll be like, okkkk someone is feeling horny rn. Or bursts of loneliness. I get phantom pains sometimes and I feel bad for my tf bc he must experience all of my tattoos rip. I do enjoy the heart chakra palpitations though. They’re like little kisses to let me know he’s thinking of me. If my third eye is blocked and my vibrations are low, I don’t feel any of those sensations I mentioned. When I was deeep in my depression and burnout last year, i didn’t have any communication or sensations with my tf at all because I was just a zombie. I’m only just starting to come out of it with therapy.

Real twin flames can be in other relationships. They still have free will. Most tf end up meeting in difficult times in their life when they are already in committed relationships or even married with kids. A trial a lot of tf face is having to decide to stay in those previous committed relationships or take the plunge to be with their twin flame. They will feel the heart aches and longing like she described, but they are still human and have a conscience. Do they want to destroy already established partnerships and even families with kids to be with their true love? Its a life changing decision, for better or worse. This is why I always say it’s better to be a soulmate. Easier life and still get a true love. None of the hardships like twin flames go through.

I'm making small amends because I realize my thoughts don't quite match how things go. While I still stand by the fact of Koga being demisexual. He wouldn't quite, I suppose, be demiromantic as well. This would mean that he'd have to have an emotional bond with someone to truly fall in love with them. Koga has said on multiple occasions how he "loves" Rei. He "fell in love" with Rei. But, when he first fell in love, he never even spoke to Rei. Which, in a way, could be seen as a "false" love, but the fact that Rei simply saved him in an emotional way. Brought him back before he completely lost himself due to being lonely, all alone in the world. Rei's music kept him as a young boy with no one in life from potentially doing anything reckless. But, Koga believed it to be love at this time. It can ALSO of course be just a platonic love due to the nature of Japanese writing.

Yada yada yada, I've talked about this before, so I shouldn't delve deep into it again, esp since this isn't supposed to be a post about a ship. BUT HERE I AM BC I CANNOT STOP MY BRAIN FROM TALKING ABOUT THEM. No matter how hard I try not to. My Gods, it NEVER ENDS. Anyways, he doesn't necessarily need the deep bond to feel something akin to love for someone. Just typically he doesn't allow anyone IN to get to know him better unless the bond is formed. He has to trust them & feel comfortable with them, which can be taken sort of like demiromantic. But it rests in a definite grey-area, which leans more toward grey-romantic. He sits on a cusp that truly depends on the emotions he's feeling toward the person & how he HIMSELF is feeling.

If he's got his walls up, it's less likely he'll let someone in within that bond first. Like say if he fell in love with Rei at that point in a TRUE romantic sense, then it'd make him more panromantic over demiromantic since he never spoke to Rei at that point, a "love at first sight" or "love at a distance" moment. But if say for Kaoru, he had his walls up around him until slowly chipping away as they spent more time together, growing closer. So, he'd have that bond before falling in love. Adonis sits on the edge, due to trying to close the gap with Adonis when they first met each other, yet later putting up walls around himself with Adonis, until once again beginning to chip away at it as they grew closer.

You know what? He's just grey-romantic. His ways of letting people in around him is just so all over the place & infrequent, that he truly just falls into that spectrum over demiromantic. Though, in a lot of potential instances, it's VERY like demiromantic. If you think about how he used to be vs how he is now, he has a greater chance NOW of letting people in more readily. To give them more chances & feel an attraction to them. It's still rather infrequent, though. After all, he spends majority of his time around the other idols he knows in ES, but a few other students as well. Plus, the biggest thing is him experiencing the romantic attraction without necessarily desiring the relationship.

But I will not be changing his sexual attractions. He is DEFINITELY demisexual. No doubt about it. The last thing on Koga's mind at any given point is sexual attraction. Playing guitar matters more. Singing on stage with UNDEAD matters more. Taking care & loving Leon is far more important. Sure, of course, he'll take care of HIMSELF when necessary, after all body health is very important as an idol. But his desires for sexual interactions is not on the top of his list of priorities. He's not going out of his way for anything sexual, but of course when he has that emotional & romantic bond, then his sexual desires will grow a bit more. He'll want that physical connection with his partner. There'll be that comfort for him in being close on such an intimate level with his partner.

Could you talk a bit about this fic, how you came up with it, some headcanons? And what you think maybe happened after

omg thank you so much for this ask!! It came at a good time bc, admittedly, I was considering hiding this fic a few days ago: I was very much in my head of whether or not this fic is “me” (which is a silly thing to think bc of course it is, I wrote it 😅). BUT ANYWAYS! receiving this ask prompted me to go back and reread “mother!” — and I felt really proud of it!!! lol. So I know this wasn’t your intention necessarily, but thanks for reminding me of this one.

I digress!! I’ll answer your questions below bc I (unfortunately) will share a lot lol:

Ok, so I wrote this fic for a multifandom dead dove event that was hosted on twitter: monsterfcking march lol. I don’t actually do too many events, even though I’d like to, bc they make me anxious about meeting deadlines. But this dead dove one I really like bc they’re usually prompts that make me think and write outside of my comfort zone — which I really like to do!

I was definitely still in my house of the dragon era when I wrote this, I’m sure lol. But in truth: I am a big fantasy buff. I really love stories with rich world building and magic and monstrous creatures. So I don’t ever know if I have the discipline to go and create a whole fantasy world, but I figured this one-shot would be a good way to try my hand at it.

So here are some headcanons that went into the “world building” of this one-shot (tw: mentions of incest, cannibalism, gore/vore ahead):

The Ackermans are the dominant power in this world, mainly because of their ability to bond with and control dragons (yes, they’re very much a Targaryen parallel in this one-shot’s universe).

They each have a dragon to which they’re bonded since birth. They’re given eggs as infants, and their body heat helps the eggs to hatch. As the dragons grow, the Ackermans are supposed to take care of their dragons and train them. They feed their dragons bits of their flesh and blood as they both grow to help with the bonding.

This whole bonding ritual creates a “parent”-like relationship because the Ackermans basically train their dragons to recognize them as their sole means of survival (I guess kinda like how you train a dog to recognize you as the “alpha”). There’s very much a dom-sub / extremely codependent relationship that is nurtured. An Ackerman and their dragon rely on one another for each other’s survival.

Eren is Mikasa’s dragon (obviously). He was extremely violent, and there were concerns about whether or not he could be tamed. The dragon keepers wanted to execute him when he was younger as a precaution, but Mikasa intervened.

Eren disappeared when he found out that Mikasa was betrothed to her cousin Levi. (Yes it’s because he was jealous and petty lol) Because of their bond, Mikasa feels chronic, physical pain during their separation.

The Ackermans have a history of marrying one another in order to keep their blood pure and ensure power over dragons (yet another Targaryen parallel).

Levi and Mikasa’s marriage was arranged since Mikasa was a young child. It is definitely a political move: Levi is heir to the throne, and his marriage with Mikasa is to solidify Ackerman strength and produce more heirs.

Levi and Mikasa are friendly with one another, but don’t have romantic feelings for one another. Levi is closeted and has been having a secret affair with Lord Erwin Smith, a noble who serves in his family’s court.

Mikasa is not excited about her marriage because she doesn’t like feeling like she has no control over her life and future (but she doesn’t realize that’s what’s bothering her until Eren returns).

For recent generations, the Ackermans have been overseeing a kingdom in relative peace and comfort. While they have a history of violence and conquering, they’ve become complacent and have resorted to a life of luxury and parties.

In terms of what happens next: I envisioned that Levi and Mikasa do get married — but that Mikasa uses her new position as queen to get some agency back in her life (i.e., keep Eren as a lover and do whatever the hell else she wants) and usher in a new conquering era for the Ackermans. She’s a young girl who’s been sheltered. So when she recognizes how much power she holds when she literally dominates a dragon (lol), I like to think that it gets to her head a bit. And she starts to do more than what people tell her to do. 💕💕

mili anon (again. sorry) and i feel i should've been a bit more clear there was a reason i didn't mention love town when i mentioned "For a Place of Love" (well according to the fandom 2 reasons but primarily this one) and that's because i honestly really enjoy the perspective of someone listening to the songs made for Library of Ruina without actually having the in-game context. It's a pleasant source of evidence that the songs stand strong enough on their own while also being extremely fascinating to me who got into mili through LoR to see the different perspective.

To be honest I kinda ran out of steam after seeing how long that last ask was so I didn't get to cover some of the non-LoR mili songs I really like, like Bathtub Mermaid which is a very gruesome song (like major major trigger warning of self-harm) of giving everything you have up to someone else and molding oneself to fit someone else's needs,,, i love the lyrics where even the song's subject is like "i'll embrace everything good about you... and then squeeze out all the bad things" it really makes you think about who is all this destructive devotion really for? what is even left at the end? aughhhh

(anyways sorry again about how long this has gotten, and the whole "we don't talk about love town" is a blatant lie. from what i've observed LoR fans can't seem to shut up about love town lmao)

ok yes though!!! absolutely!!! like i am aware there’s a story here but i’d actually rather just garner it from the context of the song as opposed to necessarily getting into the media. it’s a fun activity. like musicals that you don’t intend to ever watch but that you love the songs from and you’re like listening closely to the lyrics to figure things out. and i think all these mili songs are so good and well written that you can easily enjoy them without even being aware they’re from media. absolutely fantastic

and yeeeAAAAAAh bathtub mermaid is a favorite of mine too bc i like Wasn’t expecting that. like after a lot of more energetic songs it’s like oh suddenly we have this quiet haunting piano lament?? about like someone committing themselves way too far to an abusive relationship and just wanting to keep hurting themselves because they’ll do anything for that person’s attention including giving up everything they are. like man it gets dark in there. like so many mili songs it’s like uh what’s up with the title lol sounds a bit silly but nope it’s actually pretty genius. using the metaphor of a mermaid who should be free and beautiful but being kept in a tiny little bathtub and constantly in pain. y’know. yeah i love that song it’s so pretty and sad and blorbo-ifiable

ok if we’re on the topic of other ones. how about ‘ga1ahad and scientific witchery’? super fun one. i would love to watch someone piece together an entire original story based on it. i’m getting like this love-hate relationship between a witch and a (cyborg?) knight. who keep killing each other but coming back to life (out of undying hate? out of a commitment to each other? not wanting to kill each other but they’re supposed to be enemies so they’ll fulfill their duty?) whatever’s happening there i love this one it’s a lot of fun. featuring such lines as ‘rise from bed my darling, so i can see you again/so i can kill you again’ and ‘kiss me tenderly gently violently’. bangers. and it’s pretty interesting bc the song doesn’t really have a solid structure or repeating pattern it’s kinda just like each section is a new thing entirely and you think it’s gonna end at this one part but it doesn’t but then when it does end you weren’t expecting it lol.

More head cannons about your son?

I love my son. If someone saw this out of context that would be quite worrying. For real though, imagine actually having headcanons about you real, biological son. Goodness. But no, it's just funny gecko that I think of as a human or human with tail and ears and scales that I have projected everything on and more. The best thing is that those headcanons will probably never end bc I think about him constantly. So let's deliver hmhmh 10 more:

so this one is kinda complex, and not among my main ones, but it sure exists. If he were super in love with someone (as often, we'll go with Sunil, but it can be anyone) but for whatever reason didn't tell him about it, to relieve the tension and need to be with him, he would write some short (or longer, if he's in the mood) stories about himself and Sunil being a couple in love. So he's essentialy kinda writing fanfictions. Those aren't super good or anything, as I said, he writes them only to satisfy his own need to be with Sunil romantically, A bonus thingy dingy scenario: somehow Minka found out about that, read one of those stories and thought that it was actually pretty good. And in this scenario she's in love with Russell, didn't tell him either. And so Vinnie and Minka strike a deal, to satisfy each other's romantic cravings, they trade sometimes. So basically it looks like that: Minka paints some Vinnil stuff for Vinnie and he in turn writes her a short Russinka story. It actually works really well for them and they pretty much eat that up totally not feeding each other's obsessions. Even better if Sunil and Russell are already in relationships with others, then they can feed each other's delusions

he's just as much of eating lover as Penny Ling is. He can devour so much in one sitting. They have a traditon that once the school or now academic year ends they go to this one specific fast food place that they have been going to since forever, order a shit ton of food and eat all that. He also stress-eats sometimes

coffee doesn't work on him, or at least not in the way it was intended. It makes him sleepy instead. He still drinks it anyway sometimes, though tries not drinking too much or at all when he knows he'll need to be on any amount of alert soon

when he has dreams they are mostly fucked up dreams. Not necessarily scary, though those are possible too. Most of them aren't exactly nightmare material that you would wake up from covered in sweat and having trouble breathing, just disturbing and/or weird in nature. One reoccuring dream he has goes something like that: he's laying on the grass, as far as he can look there's just that, mid-height grass and night sky above. He can't move at all, no standing up, no turning his head, nothing. And then this pretty big shadow shows up, gradually covering him like something or someone is coming up to him from behind. He tries to see what that is, looking as far back as he can. He never saw what or who it is, but it always feel like it's just out of his field of view, like one more inch and he could see it. But alas he can't. And that shadow looms over him for the entirety of that dream. It used to be quite scary at the beginning but after experiencing this dream every now and then for years he's just kinda bored of it now

sometimes, when Russell and his dad go to the graveyard to visit Russell's mom's grave he goes with them. He's honestly not quite sure why, neither of his parents are dead, but it gives him some sort of weird catharsis. The only idea he has is that since they are visiting his friend's mom's grave then maybe he subconciously treats it as if he was coming to his dad's grave as well. Again, his dad's not dead, but Vinnie never sees him, he barely, very barely remembers him, so in a way he might as well be... Or maybe he just likes spending time with Russell and his dad that much. Even if it's in such way

him and Zoe like listening to music together. Like in a situation when all seven of them are driving somewhere whether in a car or on a train or something and it's been many hours so they are all just kinda tired at this point Zoe gets her headphones out, gives one of them to Vinnie, puts the other one in her ear of course and puts on some music. Vinnie doesn't have a specific music taste, he like what he likes and he found out that somehow every song Zoe has on her phone just hits the spot so damn well

I like to think he has picked up quite a few habits from Sunil over time. You know, the thing when people who spend a lot of time together pick up each other habits and that makes them get more similar to each other. Yeah, that's a real thing. Anyway, so he did end up with the habit of: saying "my friend" when adressing others, interwining his fingers when concerned as well as holding and playing with his tail (in a world where they have tails) when nervous or stressed. He doesn't do any of that as often as Sunil does, but admittedly, it appeared in his behavior, while it simply wasn't there before

his favourite kind of alcohol is liqueur but he's not picky, he will drink pretty much anything. There are very few things he will out-right refuse to drink under any circumstances

people who only knowing him from seeing or hearing either think he is super duper nice and a complete softie who couldn't protect himself and would never stand up for himself or that he's some sort of indestructible force that can and will destroy everything and everyone, always pissed and angry. Basically, the second kind folks saw him angry once and since he's super uncontrolable, very vocal about that, and seething with need to destroy something when feeling that way they just thought he's this way always. Halo effect, am I right?

You know the cocktail party effect? When you react to hearing your name even if you know it's not adressed at you? He doesn't have that, or rather he doesn't have that with Vincent. If he heard "Vinnie" yeah, he would react, but if he heard "Vincent" 99% of time his brain just doesn't react to that name. Even if you were looking straight into his eyes and called him that, he would be like "???" and look behind himself to see if you're maybe talking to someone behind him, because you're clearly not talking to him, right? He's Vinnie. He doesn't do it out of any ill intent or anything, he just genuinely most of the time doesn't think about the fact that Vinnie is not his actual name. Ah the beautiful duality of Vinnie and Vincent. I could give him an identity crisis or sth, but that's a long one, maybe another time

He's way better at theory than practise when it comes to dancing, he just doesn't want to admit it, especially to himself. Look, he's just not good at dancing, he'll never be, he's clumsy, this is just not working for him, he's just in heavy denial about it and thinks he can pursue it. One day he'll realize he can't. But anyway, I'm not taking everything away from him, he can be good at theory. Because he genuinely loves dancing, he even likes reading about it, learning the history, different kinds, all kinds in fact, when and what and who. That doesn't only include the real dances, for example he's very knowledgable about danse macabre, you know, the theme in art where all people are lead by Death in death dance representing how everybody no matter the differences will die one day? Yeah, he knows about stuff like that and can talk about it for hours actually

6: Ghost Eddie or Vampire(Kas) Eddie? Why?

100% Vampire/Kas Eddie, bc 1) bloodplay & biting and 2) Eddie not being able to touch Steve makes me sad (I have definitely read and enjoyed ghost!Eddie fics, though!). It's slightly less common, but I do also enjoy when Steve and Eddie have to work around (...or with) one of Eddie's powers being compulsion.

16: What Steddie headcanon do you feel is overdone? (optional: how would you alter it to make it fresh again?)

Huge preface that by "overdone" I mean "I wish there was a little more variety" and not "I am inherently annoyed when I see it." There are very few things that I haven't seen done well, and even if I'm tired of certain tropes, I still enjoy a lot of fics that employ them. Anyway, instead of reopening a pre-existing can of Steddie fandom discourse, I think the trope/headcanon that I run into most that I wish was approached with more overall nuance that I haven't seen anyone talk about is "all of Eddie's (or, more rarely, Steve's) queer sexual history is cladestine hookups with people who don't care about him." Realistically speaking, yeah, if either Eddie or Steve have had prior sexual or romantic relationships with men (in canon era), it is quite likely that they were either 1) fleeting 2) high secretive/potentially tragic, and/or 3) with people located outside of Hawkins. I don't have any issue with Eddie having a sexual history prior to Steve (I enjoy everything from virgin!Eddie up through experienced dom/sub!Eddie headcanons), but I don't enjoy the...uh...sort of implicit (though I think unintentional) moralizing tone that casual sex is often presented with in fic. All past sexual partners are often written as being callous or uncaring. If this was just something that happened once or twice, it'd be one thing, but almost any time Eddie (or Steve) has a past (queer) sexual history prior to getting together it feels like there is almost the de facto assumption that casual sex = bad and traumatizing/unfulfilling. I don't necessarily want people to treat gay bar culture in the 80s as utopic. (Although at this point, I'd take it.) But there is rarely any nuance to how Eddie (or Steve) feels about prior sexual partners. Where's the joy! The fun! Why was Eddie willingly going out to have casual sex with people if he's not actually enjoying it? (And if you have a character reason for that, explore it!) Even if he's had a couple bad sexual partners, why is it all of them? Can Eddie and Steve's sexual relationship with each other only be meaningful/good/unique if all of their prior experiences were bad/lackluster? Can they both not have genuinely enjoyed the sex they had with others, and found genuine care and affection in it, but still find something new and exciting in one another? (It also bothers me that for as often as this comes up, I've only seen a handful of fics even mention--let alone meaningfully explore--the inherent risk/fear of contracting AIDS. I understand people not wanting to delve into such a heavy subject matter, but it does make the ubiquity of Eddie having a history of casual gay sex all the weirder to me. It feels like people are writing a gay bar culture that would more closely align with the 70s, not the 80s.) ....I have a lot of feelings about this. A lot of them are going into one of my current WIPs wherein Steve realizes he's gay between seasons 3 and 4 and then has a grand gay sex adventure in which I emphasize the love of ephemeral connections, and the eroticism of safely fucking during the AIDS epidemic. TL;DR: Make casual sex fun again

I think what I enjoy most about RWYLM is that it maintains the age-old queerbaiting trope of "person who you have the important relationship in the world with" vibe that doesn't necessarily mean either party can't have a romantic relationship outside of it. That being in the context of the other relationship is being gay married is very fun

What I'm saying is that. They really could just be what they are to one another and still be in other relationships bc the most important thing for them is being with each other. In the story Dean is rightfully pushing to boundaries because it's an insane and mutually painful set-up in reality, but I feel like you do a good job of capturing that canon dynamic as they finally fucking get out of it

yeah tbh dean and cas are essentially queerplatonic partners at this point even though both of them clearly want that “platonic” part to change. like they’re inseparable and they want each other in their lives no matter what the consequences are. it just took some stupidity & nonsense and such to realize that
