#even if he is a selfish guy maybe he had complex reasons for wanting the triforce i doubt that
Text
Idk man I think a guy can do some shitty things for the people he holds as family and ultimately personal selfish reasons that make him slowly chip away at the truly good parts in him and strip him of his morality and humanity until he is nothing more than a tyrant have all of that set back to square one where he still has a conscience but has still done really shitty things and then upon finding out the monster he could be gives up the quest for ultimate power even if he thinks it's a GOOD thing for everyone, coming to find out what he thinks is good for other is not what they need OR want and ultimate try to become a better person at all costs and retain that bit of kindness that hes had all along and recognize hes an extremly selfish person with massive flaws and even if he keeps falling into his sins he perserserveres and tries as hard as possible to help the ones he loves in the way they need help instead of what father knows best and almost lay down his life to protect a place that he has treated so wrong and that MAYBE he shouldn't be executed for the future crimes that don't even exist in this timeline and that this dude and the evil version of himself are now so far removed from eachother but he should seriously face some conciquences for the crimes he has already committed but maybe straight up killing Daddydorf is fucking wrong ANYWAYS

second chance.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Marcus Lopez x f! reader
Summary: Second chances don't work, do they?
Warnings: I don't think so, enjoy!
-
Marcus and I were a couple, for quite a long time. We broke up because he was afraid that the enemies from his past and those he is making in the present would put me at risk. I never agreed with his decision, he keeps hanging out with his friends as if they wouldn't hurt him. And I accepted the separation because I assumed it was an excuse to separate from me. Maybe somehow I bored him.
As I took the air, upstairs, a recognizable voice appeared from behind "Hey, what are you doing alone?" it was Marcus. All this time I tried to avoid him for obvious reasons. I didn't want to be rude but I also didn't want to humiliate myself and tell him everything I think about our sudden breakup. So I just waved him off with a nod of my head and headed back to my dorm. "Don't go" I stopped in my tracks. "Please don't go."
I turned my body to look at him. "Don't do this to me. You broke up with me, don't act like it's all on good terms. Don't act like the perfect guy with a hero complex who broke up with me so I wouldn't get hurt. You just dumped me out of boredom."
"What?" his face transformed. "Is that really what you think? That I left the most important thing I had out of boredom? You don't understand how much it hurts me to be separated from you. Watching you walk by me every day and not being able to feel you. Seeing how you avoided me when I approached you. And when I had you with me my concern was that you were well, that you were not in danger, but now I am living a hell knowing that you are still alive but that I don't have you. And I keep blaming myself because I'm so selfish to think of you at night, day and evening. By not being able to be anywhere without thinking what it would be like if you were with me. That I only feel genuine happiness in seeing you smile from afar even if I'm not the reason. And running out of air having you like this, in front of me, and not being able to kiss you like I used to. I can't stand it, my wasted heart only beats for you. So if you still have the same feelings for me, if they never left, give me a second chance. I promise you with all my soul that I will protect you like I couldn't the first time. And if…you don't love me I will wait for you forever. When you're ready, I'll be here. Trying everything to make you see how much I miss you and love you. With every part of me."
Without thinking I kissed him. I kissed him like it was the last minute of our lives. His hands caressed my cheeks and inevitable little smiles escaped our lips. Knowing that no matter what, from now on, it's just us.
-
I love the dramatic, the romantic, the passionate and the consuming. Who doesn't want a love like that? I hope you liked it and thanks for the support<333

You guys want complex characters but you couldn't even understand Kyoko Kirigiri - Kyoko defending post.
So today I'm gonna talk about Kyoko framing Makoto because you guys only foucs on Makoto in here which drives me insane.
Yes, it was unfair that Makoto got framed. But don't forget that Kyoko was getting framed too, it's not like Kyoko framed Makoto for a murder she committed. The dead body belonged to Mukuro who died chapters ago.
Of course, Kyoko could have pulled out an inspirational speech and sacrifice herself for Naegi but there was no place for that bullshit.
Haven't you seen the bad ending? If Kyoko dies, they never get out of the killing game, the tradegy goes on forever and they don't even know.
And Kyoko knows that. Kyoko knows she's the only person who can end the killing game with all the information and evidence she got. As much as, some of these were in her room, that still wouldn't be enough for others. Plus they would probably have no reason to go there after she dies, I also wouldn't be surprised if Junko got rid of the evidence in Kyoko's room after she died.
The whole reason why the trail was in the first place was because Junko wanted to stop Kyoko from destroying her killing game. Kyoko knows that.
Now, Kyoko finds herself in a situation where she's about to get executed and the "if you vote the wrong person then you all die" rule is not going to help her anymore since the whole thing is rigged and she's being framed by the mastermind. She knows that if she dies the killing game will never and go on forever AND SHE'S RIGHT. She's nervous, she's scared, she's in a point of no escape.
She has to choices:
1. Die and lnever defeat the mastermind and have everyone locked in there forever, mastermind wins, all the deaths meant nothing.
2. Frame someone else, live and defeat the mastermind and then avenge the deaths of everyone including the person who got framed.
There's no place for sacrifice bullshit here.
Kyoko choses to save herself, not because she's selfish or arrogant but because she believes in her abilities and the knowledge she has.
Makoto ends up being the person who gets executed instead and that's s pretty much a random thing because it really could have been anyone. Yes, she feels guilty and yes, she knows it's unfair. But it was the only thing to do so she can end the killing game.
Makoto survives and she goes to look for him and saves him and she does it pretty quickly. She goes there, brings him food and water, then helps him get back to the building. If she didn't care about him, she wouldn't think about what happened to him.
The fact that she was the only one to do so, maybe because she detailed map of the school that she got from some secret room, however the fact that she threw herself down the trash to save Makoto shows that she cares. But I think it's safe to say that if she didn't go down there, there's a huge chance that no one would.
In conclusion, chapter 5 is not all about Makoto. I hate when people make it all about him and how it was unfair for him and JUST for him. Because if you think about it, it wasn't fair for anyone and Kyoko had no choice, just like everyone else. They couldn't just not vote, they had to vote for someone.
Kyoko is an interesting character because like I mentioned before, what you'd except from a Danganronpa female support character would be inspirational sacrifice to let the protagonist solve everything by themselves and "I believe in you" and blah blah.
That scenario just doesn't work here because Makoto alone doesn't have enough information and knowledge to defeat the mastermind by himself.
Another thing is that Kyoko apologies and explains everything as soon as she sees Makoto.
Makoto forgives her not because he is a loser people pleaser although he is but not here but because he knows Kyoko and trusts her and he knows that she has those information that could help save the killing game, he knows that without her they wouldn't defeat the mastermind.
Kyoko Kirigiri is a character with her own morals, brain, way of thinking and mind. She is a deep powerful character who was one of the main reasons Junko was defeated. Yet, she gets very little credit. This would bring us to talking about the anime but that's a topic for another day and another rant.

Furthermore, Belos is the type of colonizer who loathes a culture, but also feels entitled to it and is pissed off when it doesn’t bend over backwards to his demands. He wanted the glyphs of the Titan but he refused to respect her and her people, her body, her customs, and opted to take it by force; A method needlessly more complicated, difficult, and arduous than just humbling himself and learning on someone else’s terms.
So to see some people have the fucking gall to treat Belos’ seizure of what is essentially a native resource as some W over that mean and unsuccessful Titan, disparage Luz as ‘not working’ for the glyphs like he did (ignoring how this brown girl actually put in the work of adapting to another culture), and unironically praise his ‘protestant work ethic’ is just… racist! It’s racist!!!
It’s buying into the conservative strong man myth that Belos got where he did ‘by the grit of his own teeth’, when really he lied to and cheated people who actually put in effort and suffered the consequences for him; He stood on people’s shoulders without consent and attributed their sacrifices as his own like so many American Dream capitalists, instead of appreciating and reciprocating others’ help the way Luz did. It’s buying into the idea that Belos’ atrocities can be overlooked for the sake of admiring how he ‘got things done’, because that’s just the price of success!!! Like I dunno maybe we shouldn’t even jokingly praise a character for being a colonizing thief, a swindling capitalist in all but name.
This reminds me of that time I saw someone’s Road to El Dorado AU where Philip plays the role of one of the white Spanish dudes. Like are you fucking for real. You saw a genocidal white colonizer who impersonates a local religion he has no real understanding over to manipulate the natives for his own selfish ends and you actually said, “Okay but what if we treated it as a cute and good thing this time? What if we treated his blatant disinterest in everything that isn’t seizing the natives’ resources as a teehee trait???” I don’t care if Philip is chill and doesn’t murder people in this version of events. Y’all are just being lowkey, if not outright, racist.
Belos is an effective satire of right-wing conservatives and radicalized white supremacists, genocidal colonizers who bastardize and appropriate cultures, “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” success stories, entitled abusers with all their excuses, and Christian self-flagellation and savior complexes. Dana based him off of televangelists, cult leaders, and her own conservative relatives. And yet so many people willingly ignore the whole point of Belos’ narrative and themes to reduce him to just “Caleb’s moody brother” or some sadboi victim of religious trauma, as if Philip didn't willingly embrace Puritan ideology regardless of whatever drawbacks it may have had, because it ultimately promised superiority…
And with the AUs that strip Belos of everything that makes him Belos for the sake of some feel-good story that undermines the show’s themes and does his victims dirty, that isn’t even an alternate version that’s just a completely different, made-up guy with none of the depth. How’s he going to learn his lesson in a redemption fic if the first thing the writer does is undo the curse to restore Philip's White Man status that he so obsessively clung onto, and lost for that very reason? How is he going to learn his lesson if the writer can't seem to properly comprehend what exactly he did wrong and the actual reasons for it???

Monty was done dirty in Security Breach and SB: Ruin
They did Monty dirty in both Security Breach and Ruin
He was so antagonized by both the game and the fandom even in the beginning, just for not being Bonnie.
What was the point of monty if they were just going to make him as a catalyst for the random absence of Bonnie? I genuinely don’t understand the story direction of what they were even going for with him if they were just gonna utilize him as a “evil replacement” beastly thug.
Monty’s design and mannersisms could be utilized for so much more than just “We wanted to make a new guy instead of Bonnie” and then make the entire fandom shit on this new guy for being the alleged evil killer of Bonnie (which I honestly don’t even think Monty is responsible, at least not with his control)
Unless they’re just going in a really lukewarm direction and just like “yep Monty bad cause Bonnie is gone” with no nuance or reason, just that “he’s selfish” and not that it was mimic, Monty possessed by afton etc etc. and all the other more interesting ways you could develop the “murder” case of Bonnie. I really hope they weren’t just gonna be like “Yeah Monty bad, the end” Because that would be such a let down. Giving Monty no misunderstood complexity but just a ruthless brute is just kind of disappointing… why even make Monty a thing if they were just gonna create an irredeemable brute?
It seriously just seems like Monty was intended as a fandom punching bag rather than an actual character because “Bonnie better” even Steel Wool doesn’t want to keep him in the band or have him even be coherent at all.
They quite literally wrote him in to not be loved by anyone in the story. Freddy never says anything remorseful about Monty’s claws (maybe that’s because Gregory didn’t directly say it was Monty, but still it still feels like he didn’t give af). Cassie doesn’t acknowledge him as anything more than “that weird Monty thing” when she was like “Poor Chica what happened to you?” When Chica is also partially animalistic at that point
Monty gets no remorse or development in universe, apart from a niche group of fans outside the game story that wish we had more of him and something added to him like Roxy, and even Chica. Roxy was misunderstood, tragic and turned out to be a lovable fierce protector and friend much like Freddy but with a bit more edge and tragedy combined. Chica although she is too far gone in Ruin, she still had some sense of being partially friendly if even for a second, but Monty? Nah he’s always been bad even before the virus… lame.
They just gave Monty the middle finger for simply existing in the first place even before all the Bonnie stuff came out and honestly as a fan of crocodilians it’s disappointing. And then he was completely tossed aside as Bonnie’s murderer with no added explanation or mystery. What?
Can we not have a single fictional crocodilian/reptillian that ISN’T “evil villain” coded?
Monty made me realize how dirty Reptiles are done in fiction.

WAIT A SEC..... you'd do reqs for the batman 2022? if not, i understand, but if you do: can i get uhhh what dano!riddler would look for in a (gn) partner? and/or headcanons on what kind of boyfriend he would be?
(Edward Nashton X Reader) General Relationship Headcanons
(Gender Neutral) Headcanons ~ A/N  YES YES YES ok sorry guys skipping ahead for this bcs i want to write it ok thank you. Everyone go listen to mook right now
Trigger Warning: Edward Is Not A Healthy Person Much Less a Healthy Boyfriend, possessiveness kind of? Swearing, also.
Tumblr media
Edward is a simple if not unstable man. He’s always been uncontrollably attracted to those that can take care of him. Those that are more like housewives and mothers compared to hard workers. Of course, that’s not to say that he’s only into women. Not at all.
But what he really wants out of a partner is someone willing to focus all of their emotional energy on him. He wants to consume your thoughts, to become that voice in the back of your head. So no matter where you are, you’re caring about him more than anything else.
Because of that… he’d also prefer a S/O that isn’t too independent. There’s nothing more satisfying to him than coming home to you… sobbing because of his absence. Because god help whoever else makes you cry.
Someone weak and unassuming would be perfect too… it just feeds into his ego. Being able to tower over you, grab you and pull you in whichever way he likes… it makes him feel high. He’s always been seen as so sensitive and feeble, so being the strong one out of the two of you, god, he just absolutely loves it.
You’d think he would like someone who struggled as he has, but it’s actually the opposite. He would prefer someone stable and healthy, for one simple reason. If you were as tortured as he was, he wouldn’t be getting a lot of your attention and sympathy, would he? He wants you to fix him… he’ll get around to doing the same for you sometime later though, don’t worry.
However, he would despise having a successful partner. It feels like you’re… looking down on him, PITYING him, just like everyone else. No, no, he has to be the one holding position over you, not the other way around. That’s not to say he sees himself completely as superior to you, though.
As high as his standards may seem, he is an incredibly forgiving and loving boyfriend. You’ve brought him out of the darkness countless times, and he could never do enough to make up for that. Or at least, that’s what he tells himself.
He’s very, very, very clingy. Anytime that he can be, he’s with you. At home, he’s always holding you close by your hips. On the train to and from work, he insists you come with him so he can hold your hand. At work, he’s texting you constantly. That’s probably the main way his selfishness comes out… he just needs your constant attention and approval.
Anytime that he can, he shows you off. If you’re shy about PDA, that’ll hurt him a little bit. He wants to bring you around, his arm wrapped around your shoulder, just to prove to everyone that he can. Very much a… “You jackasses thought I couldn’t do it. But I did. I got a partner. And they’re incredible. You miserable bastards wish you had a partner like I do,” … complex.
Although he likes more house-wifey S/Os, when he gets home he loves to pamper you. You’ll have to beg him not to make you dinner after he gets out of work most nights. After all, isn’t that what he wanted you to do for him?
Maybe trade out “taking care of you,” for “taking care of his disgusting apartment.”
He’s put up with so much in his life that it’s hard for him to get truly angry with you. Like even if you slapped him across the face, he’d probably just tear up and ask why you did that, compared to screaming and throwing things. (Well, it’s a different story when he’s in his whole… Riddler mood.) He just can’t imagine hurting such an innocent being who has done so much for him. It makes him a little too forgiving.
But it just makes him even more of a teddy bear around you. And who doesn’t want that? Sure, sometimes he goes mad and brutally executes the corrupt elite, but more importantly he is doing it all to make a better world for the two of you to share! You deserve it, you know?

ok I had to go make my own post about Eugene Cassette Beasts, it's not fair for me to fill up everyone else's tags w how much I love this guy. I wanted to speculate a little about his backstory here cause it honestly fascinates me and I feel like I havent seen this happen much in other media, much less turn based monster collecting RPGs.
So Eugene is from a future world (seemingly the only party member who is except maybe Barkley but he's a dog so.) It sounds like he's from the turn of the century, maybe 2100 or so, and mentions in his rank 3 friendship that in his world, there was a massive reformation when society as a while realized they couldn't keep fucking each other over and destroying the planet, so everyone worked hard to abolish the kinds of structures that unilaterally hurt people (for instance, capitalism). Sounds like a utopia right?
Eugene only says good things about his world really, how much people value acts of goodness and kindness. But he says it all with such a sad tone, like something he's missing out on, because he thinks he is, he didn't fit in. He says that he wasn't great at being helpful all the time, which is why he wants to do better in New Wirral, a world removed from his own where he can be a better person than he was in his own world.
But the thing is, he IS a nice person. Maybe that's by design, everything he does in New Wirral is about him playing the hero, but it's also oh so clear that he brought his own expectations of goodness from his own timeline and they're just as much of a burden here. Even when hes succeeding, he won't cut himself slack, he says he needs to have a cause to rally behind, or what that archangel said to him would be proven true: he IS empty. Or at least, useless, which is probably the same thing to him.
What really grabs me about all of this though (besides the usual love of angst and guilt complexes and hero complexes and whatnot) is this future of moral reformation. Those are a pretty common historical phenomenon, often involving moral panics and an emphasis on presentation--- what matters is that you LOOK pure compared to others. And poor Eugene just felt like he couldn't keep up just because he has some small selfish impulses, or something in that nature I'd imagine--- I think he'd rather throw himself off a bridge than admit whatever the reason was that he didn't fit in in his own world.
It's easy to see his world being our future, in a way. I'd be delighted if terrible oppressive governments and economic systems were torn down in favor of ones that promote equality and universal well being, but currently moral purity is just as much of a trend as ever--- look at any discussion of book banning, not to mention transphobic legislature, fandom antis and so much more. So this hypothetical future is one where even though the 'right' thing has been done, there's still a subtle form of policing going on to enforce it. Maybe that is successful at keeping cruel practices from coming back. Or maybe it's just traumatizing people like Eugene who feel judged by their every action and pressured to be a saint every single moment of their lives.
One last thing I thought was interesting--- as part of his level 4 friendship rank, Eugene mentions how his parents' generation still seem scarred by the cruelties they endured before this reformation. But Eugene is too young to have lived through it himself so you know what that means?? Generational trauma babyyyyy. He's inherited guilt about a time he wasn't even alive for, along with a pressure to make sure it never ever happens again, so no unkindness is tolerated. It's no wonder this boy has so many issues.
So that's my late night rambles about this guy, probably like 50% of this is just me projecting but it's also fun to dissect what's happening here. Like I said before, it's unusual to see a unique concept like character like Eugene and his world in what appears to be a fun little indie game about turning into monsters with cassettes.

house of niccolò reread rambling thoughts: niccolò rising edition (final part)
writing this like a week after finishing the book because i'm lazy but hey! at least i'm doing it!
i think niccolò rising is a great introduction to the series. it's not as emotionally gripping as the game of kings, but it is way more polished and easier to understand and get into, i think.
that being said, it's still one of my least favourite dunnett books. which says a lot about the quality of her novels because i still really, really love it.
so yeah, a couple of reread thoughts before i (eventually) move on to book 2 :)
1.
“Although,” said Tobie, “we’ll never know, will we, what brought it on? Relief or disappointment?”
i think it's fascinating that after 8 books, and considering nicholas is one of my favourite characters of all time (possibly even my number 1!), i still can't 100% tell if something is a part of his plan, or fate making those things happen.
did he always plan to marry the widow? on paper it seemed like a last resort because he didn't want her to sell the company, and it gave him status so it was, mostly, a win/win situation (if we ignore the fact that she brought him up and he was ten, which i definitely can't ignore, but i do wonder if it bothers nicholas especially considering his childhood).
did he want felix to die, even if he wasn't happy about it? he was the one to encourage felix to go to battle, though trying to convince him not to go would've had the opposite effect. and right before felix gets shot, julius was thinking that people on horse make an easier target (something nicholas would know because the dauphin's men threw him off his own horse before that). so maybe if nicholas hadn't tried to save felix, felix would be alive. but who knows!!
and i love this. i think some readers are frustrated by how little they understand of nicholas as they read the series, but to me that just makes him more complex and more real. it's a testament to dunnett's prowess as an author that she can create a protagonist like this, and not only does she make it work, she keeps adding layer upon layer as the series continues. and nicholas is already super complex in this first book! by the end of his series there's so much going on with him, and somehow it's not chaotic at all. or, well, it is a chaotic, but a controlled and deliberate sort of chaos.
i could talk about nicholas's characterization forever. and i will in this ramblings 😁
let me finish this part with THEE quote of this book for me:
Nicholas said, “I thought of a way to do it. That was all.”
“And did it,” said Adorne. “Why?”
“To see what would happen,” said Nicholas flatly.
2.
For himself, Julius felt neither anger nor envy but a growing pleasure, and a growing curiosity. For whatever reason, it had begun. And now, what would come of it?
i know for a fact there are fans who don't like the julius reveal in gemini and don't think it makes sense on reread. i can't say i loved it when i read it, and i don't know yet how much sense it does or doesn't make, but at least i can say that in book 1 it was super fun to look at julius under a microscope.
i think i've mentioned this in my previous post, but julius was one of my favourite characters in the series because i think he's funny, and i love his reactions to the things nicholas does. because most of the time he's out there winning the idgaf war while everyone else is horrified. like tobie, he fulfilled his role in the story perfectly, but he was never that deep; and i was never going to write essays about him. he was just a silly guy.
but julius going from an amoral, selfish, entertainingly idiotic jerk, to a perfect example of lazy and opportunistic evil (while still being all those other things lol)? i do criticize dunnett's choice of leaving the reveal for the last half of the last book, but i do think that's really fun. and whether or not there are enough clues, or if they don't add up or only add up when dunnett wants them to, i will judge for myself. either way, taking a character that i enjoyed a fair amount on first reread because he was kinda dumb, and making me look at him really closely on reread... well i think that slays and i commend dorothy for it

Yellowjackets S01E06 spoilers under the cut NOT FOR PRYING HOLLIGAY EYES
"Jackie just adored rabbits."
OH MY FUCKING GOD AND AN AVALANCHE OF THOUGHTS JUST CRASHED DOWN ON ME AND I'M TAKING YOU ALL WITH ME
I'd filed away that Shauna has A THING about rabbits. We've seen her kill two, going so far as to expertly skin, disembowel, butcher, and then make a chili out of the thing to serve to her family. (Who loved it when they had no idea what was in it, hello I see you clear parallel.)
Yet we've ALSO seen that Shauna has bunny shit absolutely everywhere, all these tchotchkes that didn't seem to fit. Not only in what we're gathering about her general lifestyle, but in her apparent relationship to rabbits. She hates them! Murderously! But she also cherishes them? Or at least the still, silent representations of them that can't eat her garden.
Couldn't make sense of it, but it was too obviously placed as a contradiction to not make note of it, so note it I did and moved on.
UNTIL NOW AND HOLY SHIT
JACKIE IS THE RABBIT. I've been wondering what happened to her (as I have everyone we haven't also seen in the 2021 timeline), but I feel SUPER confident now saying she's dead dead so fucking dead.
Shauna loves her. They've been best friends for how long?
Shauna is IN love with her. That much was obvious immediately, and is I believe 10000% the reason she hooked up with and later married Jeff. (Can't have the girl? Have the guy who can.)
Shauna hates her. This part I'm shakiest on right now, but if Jackie is the rabbit (JACKIE IS ABSOLUTELY THE RABBIT), then I know it's true. Maybe Shauna hates her because Jackie can't/won't/doesn't return her feelings. Maybe Jackie's kind of selfish and terrible sometimes. Shauna was going to (or was at least wrestling with) passing up Brown to go to whatever shitbag local university Jackie was going to, and was that because Shauna wanted to, or was pressured to, or felt obligated to, or...?
I don't know that piece yet, but I DO know people are complex and can be many things at once, and so even without filling in the details, I have zero problem accepting that Shauna loved and hated Jackie all at the same time.
Bringing us to today. Shauna cherishes the idea of the rabbit, enshrines it almost, while Shauna also kills and eats the rabbit.
So if Jackie is the rabbit (AND JACKIE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE FUCKING RABBIT), oh that bitch became dinner and I'd lay two shiny quarters that Shauna is the one who took the first bite.
Because how else to love Jackie, to take her in so completely, than literally consume her?
THAT IS FUCKED MY FRIENDS
THAT IS FUCKED UP AND I'M INTO IT
#oh shit oh shit #and a couple episodes ago where jackie DIRECTLY SAYS she's not cut out for all this #this isn't her world #the others can adapt and do what it takes to survive #jackie can't #the poison ivy #that means something too #not getting it right now but that's also symbolic of something filing that away too #anyway yes jackie basically ANNOUNCES IT THERE that she's doomed #oh man and what did the head coach say about her being team leader aahhh #gotta rewatch brb #'when things get tough out there those girls are gonna need someone to guide them' #GUIDE #not lead #because jackie isn't a natural leader it's painful whenever she tries #the leader is clearly taissa #guide though #influencer as he also says #fuck me yeah it's all right there #a guide shows the way #girl you were dinner before you ever set foot on that plane #ANYWAY SORRY I'M HAVING A LOT OF THOUGHTS IN THIS CHILIS TONIGHT
Edited to add: "JACK RABBIT" IT'S ALL JUST SITTING RIGHT THERE FUCK YOU GOODBYE

i am currently experiencing the craziest high a human being can achieve just sitting on her couch i've just been taking deep breaths trying to chill out for ten minutes it's terrible anyway i need to Post about my friend alec. first of all he was there for me in eighth grade do not ever underestimate our bond i know i don't talk about him much these days and you might believe i don't really care about him but you have got to understand that my history with this fictional man runs deeper than any of yours and even when i had nothing i had alec. the bond a gay middle schooler who reads fantasy has with alec lightwood is completely indescribable unless you also experienced it but like. liken it to whatever you guys have with the angel from supernatural maybe idk. anyway the thing that has always gotten me about alec and magnus is that alec is a shadowhunter yes, but more than that he hates the government always. (i have problems with the show for reasons related to this but i am not talking about freeforms shadowhunters rn she is not my friend ok she is like my occassional late night hookup who hates me but the pussy is insane. sorry for that metaphor) anyway the way that at every turn magnus expects alec to be a Shadowhunter with that shadowhunter sense of duty and loyalty to their government and their way of doing things and their penchant for hero complexes, and at every turn alec is something different. because alec is someone who has experienced so many of the injustices of shadowhunter government and tradition, his parents were in a hate cult that they were manipulated into joining because of the ineffectiveness of their government and their desire to make the world a more just place, and they got out and were punished for it, and by extentsion their whole family was punished for it. because their governemt wants to show that it's all powerful and no one can go against it without facing life altering consequences. alec's best friend was raised by a man who taught him that being a shadowhunter was about hatred for demons, when really it's about love for humanity. alec is surrounded by people who have suffered at the hands of tradition, and he consistently turns away from it and doesn't let it break him or the peeple he loves. being a shadowhunter means having a duty to their cause, but to alec being a shadowhunter is about having a duty to the people he loves. in city of heavenly fire magnus is talking to luke and he says "sometimes it comes down to a choice between saving one person and saving the whole world, and i'm selfish enough to want the person who loves me to choose me. but nephilim will always choose the world" and later in the book when magnus belives he needs to sacrifice himself to save everyone he tells alec not to stay with him, and to go back to the world, and alec says "i don't want the world, i want you" and it makes me crazy and i think about it like once a week every week my whole life. he doesn't want the world! because the world without love is meaningless!! alec is a shadowhunter and he will always be a shadowhunter and a hero but there's no point to being a hero if there's no love... he doesn't care about duty half as much as he cares about love. and that is always what sets alec apart as a shadowhunter and as a leader, in queen of air and darkness (helena this is maybe a spoiler but don't worry about it it's not going to ruin your experience with tda if you know this) he gets voted as the new consul to represent the half of the clave that isn't part of horace dearborn's new hate group (shadowhunters always have hate cults it's like their thing it's like how americans have white supremacists. actually horace and zara dearborn are literally an allegory for trump, remember tda is a book series born out of the trump era, qoaad came out in 2018)
and the crucial thing about alec agreeing to be the consul was that he was NOT going to be a traditional consul. he was never going to do the ceremony and tradition bullshit their society likes to demand from it's government officials, alec saw his father get caught up in shadowhunter government and he watched him die for it and he would never involve himself in those traditions. he hates the inhumanity of shadowhunter tradition, that is literally the entire point of tmi and clary, the entire plot of those 6 books is that a group of young peple who fucking hate the government are instrumental to saving the world because their ideology directly contradicts the emotionless traditions of their leaders. alec is a leader because he is a revolutionary, not because he is traditional. that's what's so cool about it, he didn't just become the consul. he became the consul of a divided society and he is on the side of everything that is good and right and equal, while the other side wants to hide in tradition and rot away. that is the whole point!!! love is the point!!! being a shadowhunter is about love! they were never meant to be perfect stoic warriors, they were created out of love for humanity, they exist to protect people, to bring some level of peace to the world, and through time they forgot that, and alec (and clary) are the people that lead them back to remembering why they do what they do, why they fight this endless war, why they have to keep doing it. god. just truly one of the characters of all time. i need to just hit post now this is getting crazy

Do you have a deathgasm notp??? Sincerely, a canon zakk/Medina was a fucking cosmic fuck up incident truther
oh you’re absolutely right i have So many thoughts about this. sorry this took me forever to answer i needed to collect all of my thoughts together and all of that i am Normal about Characters
so like . for obvious reasons the thought of ppl genuinely shipping zakk and medina as in like……… thinking theyd actually be good together or smthn is a fucking insane idea and im So very glad ive only seen maybe one person say some shit like that. (which like. honestly im starting to think i might have imagined the post in my head just to make myself mad bc i havent been able to find it since ??? but i SWEAR i saw someone shipping them once .) the two of em actually being in a relationship would just be. Awful and unhealthy for both of them
(and yeah zakk and brodie arent exactly healthy for each other either . but in the sense that they both make each other Worse yet neither of them can stay away from the other even if they want to etc etc. which is actually sexy and not just . y’know)
but anyway . yeah Definitely a cosmic fuck up. medina deserves better than that :( like she’s been objectified and treated like shit by pretty much every guy who looks her way and then zakk lies to her abt the one guy who actually respects her to manipulate her into hooking up w him. give her a BREAK
but as much as it was The dick move of the century i think zakk had his reasons for it aside from just boredom. Obviously this is all very much my personal and extremely biased interpretation etc. but i think it was out of frustration more than anything else because he just can’t fucking cope with having feelings for brodie. regardless of whether you see those feelings as romantic or not he Cares too much about him. and he doesn’t know how to handle that so he takes his anger and frustration out on medina in such a spiteful and destructive way because it’s all he knows how to do. and whether he knows why or not, the idea of brodie getting closer with medina bothers him so so deeply – enough for him to try and sabotage their relationship at every chance he gets (and then later trying to keep them apart to stop brodie finding out what he did because he doesn’t want to lose him) under the guise of just being bored or only caring about himself.
and i really don’t think there’s much of a possibility that he did it because he was into her, or jealous of brodie, or anything like that. zakk never showed interest in her at all until then (i.e. when she made a move to try and get closer with brodie) and just….. seemed generally pretty indifferent to her otherwise. if he really wanted to then he could’ve made a move before, but he didn’t.
he purposefully did something that he knew would hurt them both if they (inevitably) found out, maybe not because he genuinely wanted to hurt them but because he’s reckless and destructive in nature, (and maybe a little bit stupid sometimes), and just doesn’t know how else to handle or comprehend his feelings other than to take it out on other people.
i think a lot of the dickhead-ish shit zakk does in the movie seems kind of random and thoughtless and it’s difficult to unpick what his motivations are for the things he does aside from just ‘because’, but a lot of it starts to make a lot more sense when you see it as a result of him caring about brodie far more than he wants to, and not knowing how to handle it. he seems so cruel and uncaring, and he definitely wants to be seen that way, but i think he cares deeper than anyone else in his own (kind of incomprehensible) way. and yeah, it’s still shitty and selfish and fucked up, and he still took advantage of medina and used her regardless of why, but i dunno. i think the reasons for it were a lot more complex than he let on.
(again, maybe i’m reading too much into it all and he is just a fucking cunt who just did shitty things for no reason, but the fact that he still came back for brodie after everything, despite how mad he was, even though it led to him dying in the end, is more than enough to show that he really does care too much for his own good.)
so yeah uh. i don’t fucking know how this went from ‘yeah i think zakk/medina sucks’ to a full-on analysis of zakk. But i dont care actually i love being fucking insufferable about this stupid movie <3
sorry for the massive fucking wordvomit im tortured by the curse of Thinking about characters

oh defo agreed on leonard, part of why viktor frustrates me sometimes much as i love him because it feels like the tua writers keep trying to make him *the* main character (despite it being a cast show) and they keep bringing up the fact that he has trauma, and they erase his flaw’s because they’re telling you more that he’s a dysfunctional and traumatized but sympathetic character without actually showing that
like viktor having what’s effectively a mental breakdown in s1 finale and deciding to cause the apocalypse (imo he was trying to cause the apocalypse ((esp since he literally killed a guy for honking at him and went to the concert knowing his powers feed on sound)) once his siblings started attacking him but the exact way he caused the apocalypse was an accident) but that’s not really brought up and when it os, they talk about it like he took his dad’s car and had a joyride and accidentally crashed it, not causing the literal apocalypse
Viktor’s trauma w leonard isn’t addressed, nor is him literally getting tortured by the fbi (absolutely not surprising given klaus’ torture not being addressed, but not any less frustrating), his anger issues and bit of a victim complex, and his years of anger and resentment towards his siblings are magically wiped away thx to the fact that he has powers now apparently
the latter bits are esp frustrating, bc y’know, wiping away his flaws is wiping away a good chunk of what makes him interesting. I feel like s2 really dropped the ball w the amnesia storyline bc it just served as a reason to not address s1. imo it could’ve been good, if they played into the “oh viktor’s amnesiac and all his problems are solved now” and have the siblings kind of think that when they see viktor happy w sissy and carl but then they slowly realize viktor defo vv much still has his resentment issues. the only reason they didn’t see it is bc who pr what does viktor have to be jealous of the farm (or maybe viktor could be jealous of carl not just bc of sissy but bc of him being important at his job but i digress)
like diego mentions having to save keneddy and viktor’s like “what so you can get patted on the back for being extraordinary for saving the day?” And instances like that which make the siblings realize that viktor’s issues defo aren’t a quick and simple fix, they’ve always been there and it’s not something they can blame solely on leonard. leonard was merely only the one who lit the match to the bomb, he didn’t create it. and if they really wanna address viktor’s issues they have to address their own and the family’s issues as a whole
You just outlined basically all of my issues w how Viktor is treated in the show.
It's like the showrunners have forgotten who he was in S1, tbh: Viktor is angry. He's angry, he's kind of ruthless, he's selfish. He destroys the world because he's angry at his siblings and doesn't give two shits about who he could hurt. Was part of that Leonard? Yeah, sure. Was it also years of repressed anger just bursting out? Yep.
He thinks he had it the worst out of his siblings, he thinks he was the only one who's trauma really matters and he's a victim, and like... the show never addresses or even contradicts this?? It's like they want us to think he's right, that Vik was the only one with trauma and it justifies everything he does.
The thing is- Viktor is kind. He's sweet, he's passionate when he finally gets off his pills, he's a good person. But he's not perfect. He's far from perfect. Those flaws I outlined above? They didn't make me hate him at all. They make him interesting. They make him realistic. Abuse isn't pretty, trauma isn't pretty - they're awful and people have to work to get away from the affects of them. That's what we saw with Allison in S1, what we should have seen with Viktor.
I've mentioned before that I think S2 and 3 sanitized a lot of the characters, and this is what I mean.
Look, Leonard was horrible for Viktor. He was manipulative and abusive and terrifying towards the end. How is he just... not affected by that? How does he not close himself off even more, even subconsciously, terrified and wary of someone treating him like a tool to manipulate and use again? Or maybe he does the opposite: throw himself into love just to try and get rid of it's association to him?
And for that matter: how is Viktor not affected by anything from S1?? Holy shit, he ended the season trying to murder his siblings!! And yet when he meets them again they're all... fine? No resentment? No anything?
I feel like S2 was trying to show us who Viktor could have been; the person he could've been without the abuse and trauma, and yk, I do appreciate it. But if that was the case, then S3 should've been when it all came back - all the resentment and anger and abuse. But it... wasn't?
The narrative treats him with kid gloves, ngl. And that's so, so bad for his character, bc it robs him of the complexity that made me love him. I love Viktor because he's angry and selfish and good anyway - because he has his flaws but he's kind, but he's patient, but he's trying to figure out this family with everyone else.
But the thing is, the show doesn't show that. Because Viktor's flaws are suddenly gone, his trauma isn't addressed, and everything is now a joke. His powers aren't explained or elaborated on, most of his development is just a suggestion.
I love the idea you had about the resentment that Viktor could show even with his amnesia, tbh. Small things here and there - easy enough to brush of but that could explode later, just to show us it's not gone, not (totally) healed, because you can't just fix trauma by ignoring it. That resentment is still there. That's fantastic.
Something interesting, imo, could have been that Viktor was faking his amnesia. Like, he's suddenly in the 1960s without any idea where anyone is, and now he's staying with a woman he's growing to love, and a kid he really, really cares about. There's no one to compete with or feel inferior to, no siblings he has to sort out his emotions about, and no one to hold him accountable for ending the world.
Why would he want to leave?
It could sort of be like what Allison learns pre-S1: you have to take responsibility for your actions, and if you want to make up with people, you have to take steps as well. You have to be the one who wants reconciliation, not just the other people, or else relationships can never fix.
Also Viktor Allison parallels did I mention how much I love them yet-
Anyway, yes, you're absolutely right. The show has watered down everyone ngl, and that very, very heavily includes Viktor.

My Doug related theories
1) Doug Funnie shows signs of insanity.
He has serious blankouts in bad moments, even in the middle of the traffic. He had almost died more than once!
He acts his fantasies, not seeing reality around him. In "Doug to the Rescue", it's the worst since he starts to act like Quailman in the middle of the class.
In "Doug's Older Woman", he cannot make a difference between fantasy and reality since he thought fantasizing about Cassandra asking him out on date with her until Skeeter pointed out it did happen.
There is no way the things Porkchop does actually happened!
Even psychopathy, if you think about it.
He got angry at Cassandra for using him, and yet he hypocritically did the exact same to her.
He had a fantasy in "Doug's Career Anxiety." Connie was nowhere to seen. Did she die?
He had a fantasy of pixelated Roger being shot in "Doug's Lost Weekend."
He wished death on Guy in "Doug Gets It All."
In "Doug's Fair Lady", he had a very creepy smile on his face.
Since Quailman villains are based on people Doug antagonizes, it only means Dark Quail is based on Doug's dark side.
Since Doug is stalkerish towards Patti, I bet things won't end up well. If "Doug" was for mature audiences, he would be collecting everything from lost pins to used tampons.
2) Roger Klotz has autism.
Roger's not doing well in school. He's repeated the 6th grade three times for not understanding the material given to him. He's immature for his age, and causes troubles for everyone else by being a troublemaker.
He has difficulties with socializing. He has showed clear signs of wanting friends, like in "Doug Vs. The Klotzoid Zombies", but doesn't know how to make them.
In "Doug's Secret Admirer", "Doug's Worst Nightmare", "Doug's Runaway Journal", "Doug's Big News" and "Doug Graduates", it's confirmed he has dyslexia. His handwriting is big and child-liked like most disabled people have.
In "Doug's Cookin'", he got panicked and tried to "solve the problem" by himself, not understanding what "6-8" means.
In "Doug's New Teacher", Roger clearly struggles with reading. When he read text out loud, it's clearly heard he stumbled.
He's fixated in art. In "Doug's Mural Mania", he's that talented he can paint a breathtaking picture only using a one color. His hobby is ballet, confirmed canon in "Doug Wears Tights." "Doug's No Dummy", "Doug's Pet Capades" and "Doug's Sour Singingbird" show Roger also has a great voice and can play guitar. He also loves joining the school plays.
Vitamin D deficiency isn't only linked to rickets, which fans also speculate him to have, but also to autism and other intellectual disabilities.
Billy West, the voice of both Doug and Roger, is in the Autism Spectrum in real life.
Now I have a reason to think why Mrs. Klotz got a divorce and why Mr. Klotz hasn't visited him until they became rich. (In Nickelodeon series, it's subverted he's abusive or negletful.)
3) Guy Graham isn't a bad person.
Guy Graham is described to be "a very handsome but rather selfish and inconsiderate kid", and also "serves as a secondary antagonist and is Doug Funnie's (one-sided) rival for Patti Mayonnaise."
But is that rich spoiled brat really scummy? Or does Doug only make him sound like that, because he hates him?
Quailman and Quaildad: Guy got surprised, when he saw Mr. Funnie playing the drums like a professional. After he finished, he clapped with everyone else. Since Guy is confirmed to be a fan of disco music, he could've bought one of the vinyls. It's assumable the music The Psychedellic Fuss played is similiar to Abba's.
Quailman, The Un-Quail Saga: Just like Chalky Studebaker, Guy might also suffer from inferiority complex. In a journalism contest, Guy wanted to make sure they win. He accidently said how he wants to make sure he wins the contest. Maybe he's pressured to perfection by his parents and told how he has to be perfect, no matter what it costs.
Doug's 1st Movie: Everyone got angry at Guy for attempting to kill Herman. No one have ever seen Herman. Patti and Guy didn't even meet him before the ending of the movie! How he could've known is the monster harmless or not? Maybe he actually thought Herman was a threat and tried to protect everyone from the certain doom. He tried to capture the monster in secret, because he wanted to avoid mass panic.
Doug has a tendency to demonize Guy, because he's also after Patti. In his Quailman comics, Guy's either a villain or a coward. In "Doug Gets It All", Doug makes an animation of Guy getting squashed under the anvil! What a little psychopath! Guy probably saw some of Doug's sketches and got offended how he's portraited in them. Maybe he did recognize that donkey but said nothing specific about it. Maybe he actually wants to be part of Doug's friend group, but he doens't give him a possibility. He's not even trying to get to know him. No wonder Guy hates Doug, even though he still remains polite to him.
4) Guy and Roger are boyfriends.
Anyone who've read this, know where I'm going after.
This theory gives some Doug episodes, like "Doug, Quailman VI, The Dark Quail Saga", "Doug's Midnight Kiss" and "Doug Plays Cupid", completely different interpretation if you believe Doug being an Unreliable Narrator.
5) Roger's mansion in Disney series used to be Beebe's playhouse.
It looks like a princess' castle, something little girls in princess phase would love.
It has a garden surronding it.
One of its colors is pastel pink.
The lobby has stairs you can easily imagine Cinderella walking on them.
It's been deserted for a long time.
It's right next to the Bluff mansion.
6) Guy's real father is Mr. Bluff.
Thinking about it for a while, this would actually make sense.
Guy has facial features similiar with Mr. Bluff's.
He's as ambitious and arrogant as Mr. Bluff.
Guy has a good relationship with him.
He belongs to the club which admires Mr. Bluff and he's the most enthusiastic member of it.
He can ask money from him, whenever it's a dance in Funkytown or having a band in the school consert.
He helps him to cover his tracks about him polluting Lucky Duck Lake.
We never see Guy's parents nor his relationship with them, so it's assumable he visits the Bluffs often.
He's allowed to attempt in exclusive meetings.
How would Beebe, Mrs. Bluff, Ethan and Mr. Graham react if they knew? Does even Guy himself know?
7) Skunky Beaumont was a role model for Roger, Boomer, Ned and Willy.
Skunky has gotten detention and bad grades in school more than once. Who wouldn't be a better teacher for troublemakers than an actual troublemaker?
8) There really IS a ride called Suck Face Tunnel.
But it's for adults only…
9) Judy Funnie was on her periods during Doug on the Road.
That's why she was desperately looking for another bathroom, even after she used the one previously. Anyone who gets periods know how uncomfortable it's to sit on the bench blood leeked on it.
Do you have Doug fan theories of your own?

I dont think tigerstars intentions are to permanently annex riverclan, at least not consciously, but he’s definitely not doing what hes doing for good reasons. Why does he insist on “helping” riverclan when they repeatedly told him they didn’t want his help??? Why does it matter to him so much? He claims that if one clan is suffering they all are, but tbh other than being freaked out they didn’t have a leader riverClan wasn’t really doing too poorly.
This isn’t about helping riverclan. It never was. He claims it is to get the other clans off his ass and maybe to help himself sleep at night. I think he just wants to be “the guy that saved riverclan when it was struggling,” and thats the best possible motive for what he’s doing.
People always said Firestar didnt keep to his own business, but at least he left clans alone when they denied help.
I agree!
I think this invasion was primarily motivated by two things. These two things may be subconscious things he may not even fully admit to himself.
1- “Revenge” for Rowankit as he feels that RC purposely withheld catmint
2- To appear strong and to be a saviour like you say, and therefore get some glory out of it
Tigerstar most likely has some kind of complex about strength and power as a result of his father’s failures in leadership, we’ve seen that potentially at play in political choices he’s made before (I.e the sisters). Tigerstar is currently the head of a clan where many of his clanmates, including his deputy, turned on him and his father before. Surely one would become a little paranoid such a thing may happen once again?
Just a little theory/headcanon of mine. I feel like maybe he tried to emulate the one who is in-universe considered greatest leader in living cat’s memories: Firestar. But Tigerstar isn’t Firestar, he is not kind, forgiving, or levelheaded, and as such he doesn’t understand Firestar but he thinks he does. He knows Firestar would help RiverClan, and ultimately be praised for it, but he doesn’t have what Firestar had, and so he cannot understand how to resolve the situation without doing what he [Tiger] does best, using brute force and intimidation.
Regardless of his true intentions I don’t think anyone can argue against that he’s making the situation much worse. But I’ve said this before and I’ve said this again, if he is truly is as pure hearted and well meaning as he says, he wouldn’t have brought an army under the cover of darkness in order to offer his “help” to RiverClan. Whatever is motivating him to have done this in the first place I have no doubt it was, at least subconsciously, some kind of selfish reason, even if it isn’t land grabbing (which I doubt it is anyway, if he wanted their territory he would have totally absorbed them into ShadowClan by now).

hey <3 it's funny how different people tale things isn't it. i've been following the ~discourse~ and i find the pearl clutching over terry "cheating" rather bizarre. you've mentioned before it could very possible that super affectionate daniel would cheat(?), which is more unusual to me, as i interpret omega biology and nature to be very faithful for various reasons (most notably safety). terry processing his feelings (which is already a challenge because he's an Alpha) via sex makes a lot of sense to me as a seasoned a/b/o writer and reader.
fanfic is writing, writing is art, art is meant to challenge us. i think this sort of issue comes about in fandom/fanfic because a) the world is a garbage fire and people want to escape and soothe via stories - understandable - and b) there's a small but significant part of fandom communities that is very puritan and demands perfect morals/ethics in all fics at all times. i mean sure, write your extremely pure, ethical fics if you wish, but imposing that on everyone else...? no. absolutely not!
i'd rather read the messy, the complex, the nuanced stories - and yes, the dark stories - personally. i'm defo weak for softness and fluff too. but two things can be true, right? right. terry can deeply love daniel, he can also be selfish and cruel sometimes. that's reality, and that's what the best fanfic does - weaves the surreal (say, a/b/o) with the real (complex, difficult relationships).
Storm's over it seems, but I had no idea it was such a sensitive topic. I've always seen it as a sorry fact of life. Regrettable, but circumstance and intent matter. And omegaverse is a free for all. There are no rules because well, they don't exist. Shoking, I know!
And yes, for unrelated reasons I have seen so many mafia movies with the men being despicable, unapologetic, sexist brutes that I kind of assumed that a mob boss could at least be capable of it in my fic too? For a seasoned Don to think, this guy is bad news, uh... to only see him be sweet and loving could make you think "what was Don LaRusso afraid of?" Let there be consequences to selling your child to a dangerous criminal. Let's see what happens when you marry someone who has never had to take no for an answer! I actually find it interesting to see what it does to Terry, going through life with that Alpha and mob boss entitlement and finally understanding the cost of that to others and himself. For him to change, to need to change for love. That's the good stuff, baby. To see what entitlement can wreck. And maybe, unlike so many mobsters in films, to understand they have to change their ways before they're too old to throw a punch. And what heroism it takes for others to stay long enough for that to happen. What sacrifice. Knowing how much he owes his mate. That's my fantasy. To see that before they're 80 and on wife nr 3 because the first two couldn't take the abuse anymore.
Of course people also want escapism and no one should have to read what doesn't give them joy. I also understand the fun in essentially collaborating with a story in real time. But even though influence is welcome and valuable, I still think that an author should have the final say on their story. The idea that protagonists can never be unlikable, not even for a second, is strange to me. People fuck up, that's interesting! Martin Luther King jr. cheated on his wife, that does not negate the good he's done!
Of course I understand to want a fantasy world of fluff too... but then I'd recommend, and I mean this sincerely, The Babysitters Club. I read the hell out of that for precisely that reason. My protagonists mess up and deep love is both the force that keeps people alive but does not - and again this fascinates me - solve everything.

Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers!
"He repeated the words over and over in his head, wondering if going back home might be the better option. Sure, his father would punish him for leaving, maybe even make an example of him. Look at my horrible son who ran away, look at what happens if you disobey Adrian Caine. Tristan shuddered at the thought. A few days ago, he had seen one of his father’s men. He had ducked underneath a diner table so quickly that he got dizzy with it."
Awww Tristan is just having the worst time.
Poor guy... (*feeds off the angst like a wolf sucking blood of their kill*)
“'Tristan!' Nico shouted”
NICO! OUR BEST BOY! <3 <3 <3
“When you know him better he….I’m not sure how to say this without sounding like some girl convincing her friends that my boyfriend doesn’t suck. He’s not that bad. He’s not the evil mastermind you think he is. Reina isn’t either. She’s lovely. Powerful, yes. They both are. But they’re not…they’re not…fully evil. I guess. I’d say 75% evil.”
Come on Tristan, he's only 75% evil
"Although, last time Tristan seemed to like his chest. Maybe this time it would also work in his favor."
Callum has his priorities straight XD
"He could feel the heat coming from Tristan’s body. He wanted to pull him closer, pull on the fabric of his shirt, touch his skin, forcing him to look at him."
Or many he has his priorities gay o.o
"You’d look pretty on your knees.”
The characterization of Callum is so on point, Tristan is just miserable and Callum like "ha this is funny and amazing"
"Callum wished he could kiss him. Wished he could lick into his mouth and coax more words out of him. Wanted him to keep repeating it. Wanted him to keep begging him."
Correction Tristan is miserable and Callum is turned on.
"In the end, Callum didn’t pick one. He decided that he needed time to think about it and said it was almost time for dinner. Tristan wanted to strangle him."
Callum is the king (literally) of pettiness
“That’s why he’s testing you. Because you’re only doing it because you have no other choice. He wants you to do it because you want to,”
Gideon coming in the facts!!!!
"Nico nodded immediately, probably not even having heard the question."
He's thinking about Gideon, I just know it.
"Tristan didn’t know what Gideon and Nico had going on and why Callum was making a big deal out of it. Nico didn’t talk much for the rest of the dinner."
HA I WAS RIGHT! THIS IS IT L, THIS IS MY PERFECT VICTORY!
"When he had asked Libby where Gideon knew each other from Libby told him they used to be roommates. He figured that was the only reason why they always seemed so close."
Oh poor naive Tristan...
“Ahh, Caine, don’t be so sour about that. I’ll pick your clothes for you if it bothers you so much,”
HE CALLED HIM CAINE <3 <3 <3 <- a diseased person said this
"Maybe this p*ycho needed a bed partner after all, but Tristan was not that person. He’d never be."
*laughs knowingly*
"They were currently standing in a sex shop. Tristan could feel Callum’s eyes on him."
HA! CALLUM YOU DID NOTTTTTTTTTT!!!
“You can keep this. Maybe if you used it a bit you wouldn’t be this feisty.”
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"He also bought some condoms. He planned to conveniently drop them somewhere in the palace for both Parisa and Nico to find. Maybe that way Parisa and Dalton would finally fuck and Nico and Gideon would also finally cave and fuck whenever they wanted to. See, Callum wasn’t selfish. He cared about his people and their sex lives."

"He probably would have spit in his face if he could, Callum briefly wondered. Callum would let him."
Callum being horny on main
"Now wasn’t the time to admire Tristan’s strength or fighting skills. If it were the time, Callum would be salivating."
CALLUM BEING HORNY ON MAIN
“If you know who I am, you should have also figured out what I can do. And if you did you would also know not to touch what’s mine,”
AHHHHHHH "MINE"! HE SAID MINE!
"They had noodles and talked about nothing important."
Noodles are the best food ever. That is a fact. If you disagree with me you are objectively wrong.
“'You’re covered in puke,' Tristan said.
“'New trend,' Callum tried to joke weakly.”
