People saying "Don't boycott Eurovision or Israel will win!!" - they already won the second they got past the semifinals. Israel is going to be the winner of this year, especially with the way things are going down at the moment.

You wanted Israel to not win? You guys should've made sure they didn't get to the finals to begin with- though I wouldn't doubt EBU would've changed some votes or pulled some bullshit to add Israel in the finals regardless of making it or not.

Anyway italian rant bc it needs to be said, Marco Mengoni is a really good singer and has some great songs but the ones that he goes to ESC with are just Not It. Pretty, sure, but soooo milktoast and boring. He sings well. But imagine an Eurovision with him singing Guerriero or Pronto a Correre . Profound songs that also slap and you don't fall asleep during.

Anyway me and my family all had different picks for our ideal entry for this year. Dad proposed Supereroi by Mr.Rain, said the children choir really makes it emotional. Mom said Cenere by Lazza, popular. Me? Well. I'm thinking about a character. Over the top, unconventional, weird. Maybe not the best vocals, but sure impressive stage presence. Rosa Chemical, with the best titled song Made in Italy

literally none of the songs last night were even remotely deserving of winning. it’s like they all built up to something but never punched through the screen. i didn’t even remember the winning song by the time of the vote. actually by that time i maybe vaguely remembered one or two of the songs

So I’ve seen some posts going around saying things like “boycotting doesn’t work, don’t bother boycotting Eurovision because they’ve already been paid. The only thing you can do to help is donate to organisations.” People are only saying this to absolve themselves of guilt. Don’t let them make you think that boycotting doesn’t work. It does.

Boycotting means that Eurovision will have a much harder time finding advertisements who want to partner with them, which means less funding overall. Boycotting means that they receive less money from televoting, ticket sales and merchandise. Boycotting means that their view count drops significantly and puts pressure on them to change their current practices. Boycotting means you won’t let Eurovision distract you while bombs are falling on Palestine. And most importantly: boycotting means sending a clear message that you will not stand for their support of Israel.

Eurovision is not staying apolitical. They have taken a political stance by letting Israel compete, just like they took a political stance when they banned Russia from competing. They are perfectly capable of banning countries for committing war crimes, so allowing Israel to compete shows that they are accepting and excusing Israel’s genocide. They are also sponsored by an Israeli company (MoroccanOil) so if you’re wondering how Eurovision could POSSIBLY side with Israel, there’s your answer: money.

Don’t give them any of yours. Don’t give them your viewership. Boycotting works, and if you’re feeling guilty for watching Eurovision, good. Feel bad. People are being killed, tortured, families torn apart and houses being bombed as we speak, so forgive me if I’m not sympathetic over you not being able to watch your fucking song contest. Not everything is about you. You’re going to have to feel uncomfortable sometimes when there’s a fucking genocide going on.

Lastly, not everyone is able to donate. Boycotting is a great way of helping if you’re not able to help financially. The Palestinian BDS National Committee and pro-Palestine organisations are encouraging people to boycott Eurovision, so even Palestinians themselves and Palestinian organisations are telling you that boycotting will help.

Eurovision is not worth it. You can find something else to do. Stream Hind’s Hall by Macklemore since all proceeds go to UNRWA. You can also help for free by starting your daily clicks on Arab.org.

And dear god, if you’re really not able to go without Eurovision then find a fucking way to pirate it. I am also begging people not to hate-watch Israeli’s entry because all that does is stop the boycott and make the viewerships spike again. The best thing you can do is fucking ignore them.

This week, I've watched The Mole on Netflix.

This was an error.

There are some very good moments, and Australia looks a million euro throughout the show. But there are many things wrong.

The gameplay is flat. There aren't enough opdrachten. The sound editing is some of the worst I've ever heard. It's clear within the edit that things are being withheld from us.

They've chosen to have contestants host the show, tell us what they did in retrospect. It's an extra layer between viewer and action, it makes things go really slowly, and simply doesn't work.

My friends in Nederlands-spreken landen don't get to see this show, for rights reasons. They win!

basically it was midnight last night and I realized I'd need to add the song to my phone ASAP (I don't have a spotify account so any songs I want to listen to while driving I have to have downloaded on my phone) so I went to their website to buy the download, and on a whim decided to see what the physical CDs looked like,

saw they were purple and green, which a) are literally my colors, green and purple is like my color combo, and b) that shade of mint green is literally my shade of green??? I like every shade of green but I veer towards that kind of soft cool green all the time, that's my color???

so yeah, I wasn't even intending on getting the physical CD but it was CLEARLY fate and I immediately bought Version 2 😭
