As the World Wizard Entertainment tournament finalists attempt to fireball their way to victory, I think it is not too early to announce the winner of a special award. The title of Archmage of Congeniality is given to the wizard who has most made this competition enjoyable.
Given that these wizards are fictional characters who are not literally participating in a tournament and interacting with one another, this title actually recognizes a contingent of fans who have dedicated themselves to enthusiastic fannish participation, passionate fandom fun, and positive engagement in the course of campaigning for their chosen wizard.
With maverick strategy that highlighted her prodigious bust size, called on the legacy of Exandria's greatest mage slayer, leveraged the relationship with her opponent and arcane mentor, and created many delightful new fanworks, the supporters of this wizard exemplified the spirit of campaigning for one's fave to win meaningless polls in a way that was constructive and uplifting and that brightened our dashboards with whimsy and passion.
In recognition of the spell of joy and delight that this wizard's supporters cast on this small corner of the fanspace during this silly series of polls, I bestow on Veth Brenatto the title of Archmage of Congeniality of the World Wizard Entertainment tournament.
Congratulations to Archmage Brenatto and especially (with all the loving sincerity in the world) to her fans and supporters who made this competition surreal, unexpected, and more enjoyable than it had any right to be.
One level in wizard goes a very, very long way. Live, Love, Veth.
Tumblr media
To break character, though I have done quite a bit already in this post, and at the risk of repeating a lot of a post I made earlier today: I am full of genuine love for all of you who contributed to #VethSweep posting and made this tournament incredibly entertaining. I am also so excited for the Veth fans amidst this outpouring of support and shenanigans in her name—I hope some of this energy sticks around and adds to your ranks. All that I've said in this grandiose speech is all so very sincere, and my heart is full of joy and delight this evening.
Veth is not the grand final winner of the tournament, but she is absolutely and thoroughly the winner of our hearts.

Smumbo's top 10 games he happened to play in 2022
Not necessarily games that were released in 2022, just my favorites that I played for the first time last year.
10: Night in the Woods (2017)
by Alec Holowka, Scott Benson, and Bethany Hockenberry
Tumblr media
Peak fall vibes game. Night in the Woods features a compelling mystery and some great spooky moments. The setting and characters really resonated with me, so I got a lot out of it.
9: The Pedestrian (2020)
by @skookumarts
Tumblr media
Pleasant puzzle game inspired by the signage that surrounds us in our day-to-day lives. Some of the puzzles were quite difficult, and I kind of dislike the direction the game took in its last act, but it was still a very fun and unique experience.
8: South of South Mountain (2022)
by @colorbomb
Tumblr media
Cute & hilarious visual novel with a fantastic art style. I could not stop laughing throughout the whole experience.
7: Portal Reloaded (2021)
by PORTANIS
From a pure gameplay standpoint, this was a very satisfying sequel to Portal 2, and it's possibly the closest we'll ever get to a Portal 3. Portal Reloaded introduces a third portal which allows you to travel to the same place at a different time, so certain things have been moved/removed. It gets really complicated, and I’m amazed this was able to be created as a free standalone mod for Portal 2.
6: Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery (2022)
by Grace Bruxner and Thomas Bowker
Tumblr media
Approximately 3-4 hours of pure, unadulterated joy and whimsy. I can’t believe it took me this long to play Frog Detective, but I’m so glad I did. Everything about these games resonated with me strongly.
5: OneShot (2016)
by @girakacheezer, @nightmargin, and Eliza Vasquez
Tumblr media
A transcendent experience. Explores the unique ways in which video games can tell stories, and the nature of free will. Features some interesting meta game mechanics which require you to interact with files outside of the game. The visuals and soundtrack are spot-on as well. Weird how there’s so many great RPG Maker games which work so well in spite of the engine.
4: Scorn (2022)
by Ebb Software
Tumblr media
An incredible audiovisual experience. I liked the gameplay too, even though it seems like a lot of people were disappointed by it. I'm amazed that a game like this even exists. Absolutely oozing with atmosphere and symbolic meaning. The story spoke to me on an incredibly deep level despite lacking words, or even any semblance of humanity.
3: What Remains of Edith Finch (2017)
by Giant Sparrow
Tumblr media
One of the greatest games ever made. All of the vignettes and set-pieces throughout the game are flawlessly paced, with a wide variety of gameplay and visual styles. Packed with detail, made with love, and so emotionally resonant. I loved this game.
2: Bloodborne (2015)
by From Software
Tumblr media
For years, I would try to play Bloodborne whenever I had access to a PlayStation 4, but I wasn’t able to do a full playthrough until 2022. It lived up to the hype. This is my favorite From Software game, and it’s already one of my favorite games of all time. I really hope this gets a remaster/PC port some day. It’s a masterpiece.
1: SIGNALIS (2022)
by @rose-engine
Tumblr media
One of the greatest horror games I’ve ever played. Amazing visuals and atmosphere, fascinating world and lore, and a captivating, mind-blowing cosmic horror sci-fi story. I especially loved the evocative UI designs throughout. Highly recommended if you like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dead Space, PS1 style games in general, or if you have even a passing interest in survival horror. This is my #1 game of 2022.

(hiii suz ❤️)
Hi Fleet! I hope you are doing well <3
Knitting - Trying knitting was one of the best decisions I made this year. It brings me such joy. I just finished making my first hat and while mistakes were made and I probably won't wear it much for multiple reasons, I'm so goddamn pleased with it. I made that! And there is something so joyfully freeing about making something with my own hands and really not needing it to be perfect to be great. I love it.
Cat Helpers - Where would we be without the emotional support they give us while working on our little projects or reminding us that it's bedtime?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blueberries - Tis the season! Now that we have three fruit producing bushes, it's amazing to be able to just go out into the garden every couple of days and pick fresh blueberries. I really should be saving them to bake some muffins or something, but tbh they are all going straight into my mouth. So yummy.
Old Fandoms - About a month ago my TOS watching group finished the series, and we started watching/rewatching SGA. SGA was my first fandom, so I'm having so much fun taking a trip down memory lane and getting fresh perspectives on the show. I'm especially enjoying @ober-affen-geil's commentary because he's so genre savvy that he's correctly guessing how each episode is going to play out and it's a delight (though also hard to keep quiet about when he guesses right).
Stickers - In a fit of whimsy at the beginning of this year, I decided that instead of crossing out the days on my wall calendar at work, I would place a sticker on the date at the end of the day, and it's such a simple but lovely way to end my workdays. I'm going through my sticker stashes but also now have an excuse to buy more stickers.
Thanks for the ask, this was fun ^_^

i wanted to add about the whole “shipping discourse” thing: shipping is not just “watering down the characters so they can kiss”. it can ask “how do these characters love? how do they express it? to who do they express it, and why?” especially when it comes to the iterators, who are so inhuman yet painfully human, it’s like…how do they process that? it’s insanely interesting to me to headcanon how their dynamics would work (and my ragequit shipping ass cannot resist a good ol annoyances to lovers), so yeah! also shipping can just be because you want to see your two blorbos kiss, it doesn’t have to be that deep! but to say its just like, mindless and stupid is…incredibly wrong.
YEAH not everyone ships for these reasons but in gerneral it can mean a lot to ppl and its weird to say that "ermmm ur happiness doesnt matter actually and ur interests are dumb" like!! what happened to joy and whimsy in general noone should be bullied for harmless interests, even if ppl are just shipping for fun and no other reason. like! lets chill, ty!

I’m realising how much online “criticism” has started to genuinely effect so much media these days. There’s this trend— especially on YouTube— to always consume things purely through a critical lens, and an even worse trend of hate watching things. Because of this, it’s impossible to escape both criticism and hate of various pieces of media before you’ve even watched the piece of media at all, and by that point, your opinions have already been influenced.
I’ve noticed that a lot of shows that are regularly criticised for their writing/animation/character design etc. (High Guardian Spice, Hazbin Hotel etc.) are actually perfectly decent, and even good, as long as you go into them with no prior influence. I went into both shows without knowing anything about them, and I loved both of them (I definitely loved Hazbin Hotel more than HGS, but that’s neither here nor there). I’ve also watched plenty of reactions to HH where the person knows nothing about it prior, and more often than not, they genuinely enjoy the show and have a lot of fun with it, without being influenced by those who want to point out every single flaw for the sake of content. It’s really noticeable how many people actually like these shows when they haven’t been subjected to the visceral online hatred, almost as if our viewing experiences are now being dictated by other people (hint hint).
Overall, I think there’s a clear point to be made that a lot of shows are probably way better than most people realise, but because of this pessimistic trend of hate watching stuff, we’re all living in a world where we feel like we have to watch things just to criticise them, rather than to simply have fun. In my opinion, hate watching is pretty much pointless. Don’t watch something you’re not enjoying, and then proceed to try to influence other people to hate it too. It’s weird, and fandom spaces are suffering because of it. Fandom spaces used to be fun places to hang out it, but now they’re the most exhausting things I’ve ever had to deal with, to the point where I just don’t interact with them anymore.
It’s unfortunate that hating things is more profitable on platforms such as YouTube than enjoying things are, because now there’s a rise of simply shitting on things for the sake of clout. It’s fucking depressing, is what it is. We’re not allowed to experience joy and whimsy anymore because it doesn’t make a goddamn profit.
And if there’s anything to take away from this it’s that: If you’re watching something and your mind is permanently thinking “is this line good? is this storyline developed enough? is this a good character design? could this animation be better?” then that is the devil talking and what you should be asking is “does this make me— the most important person in the world— feel happy?”
(also, at least get your criticism right, because so many people keep criticising rushed storylines or poor writing quality and then blaming the creators for this, when it’s actually the streaming services who trade in quality for efficiency and deliberately strip down their shows into the minimum amount of episodes possible, severely impacting the development that these stories need. Never forget that Viv originally planned out about 20 eps of Hazbin Hotel, but had to squeeze everything down into 8 eps when it got picked up by Amazon).

hi! i just wanted to tell you that lamplight au fills me with great whimsy, they are silly but also sad sometimes and they live in Big Fantasy World and i LOVE the trope of Some Guy + Powerful Entity everything about it is lovely, the worldbuilding especially, and as someone who has loved fantasy since early childhood it just brings me great joy. especially in contrast with the tragedy of canon (</3). i have been having Thoughts about bigb and jimmy reuniting with martyn btw
i’m so glad! lamplight has been an absolute joy to work on so i’m always happy to hear people are enjoying it. also some guy + powerful entity is the best it never gets old. and i’m glad you’re enjoying the setting / world building, i love fantasy and i’ve been having fun w the magic system
also while i have you here, i said it before but i love your art style, and the lamplight art you did is a favorite of mine. the way you color is really nice!
as for the reunion, :)

Ranking the songs in Hazbin Hotel
(this is my first post on tumblr omg hi)
I'm gonna put the songs from least to most favorite with some reasons. It's gonna be a VERY long first I think this is gonna piss some people off and I'm sorry 😭
#16: Hell's Greatest Dad
(this is gonna be the one that pisses people off) I have a BIAS against this song. Something about it rubs me the wrong way, especially when Alastor comes in and starts singing. The lyrics are uncharacteristically... well... lame? The rhyme of "one" and "nun" in the beginning just feels like low hanging fruit. Overall, I think I've just heard it too many times and just found too many things to complain about. 😭
#15: Out For Love
I think it could've been better conveyed. It's a bitch to get stuck in your head and I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics, although I'm not complaining about Carmilla with her hair down. 🤭
#14: Respectless
Okay, I actually do love this one, I just love all of the Hazbin songs so this one got bumped a lot. I love the intro with Carmilla bursting in out of nowhere and telling her off. It got so low because of the social media lines, I know this is nitpicky but there a little meh. Love it though, I sing this one around the house a lot.
#13: Happy Day In Hell
This one's definitely slept on because one, it's the first song, and two, there's just so many bangers. This is a perfect first song, ESPECIALLY since later on it gets woven into the bigger moments in later songs. Gold.
#12: You Didn't Know
This is ALSO gonna piss some people off, but I assure you it's placed this low because I've heard it too many damn times 😭 Other than that, A-tier song, I love Sera.
#11: Welcome to Heaven
Putting welcome to heaven ABOVE you didn't know is gonna seem like I'm trying to piss people off at this point, but I have a bias and that is St. Peter. I will not elaborate. Also, it's really fun and tickles my brain.
#10: Hell is Forever
Adam's VOICEEEE 😩 I love Alex Brightman so much, the guitar solo is immaculate, and who doesn't love a good "trying to suck the whimsy out of the main character" song.
#9: More than Anything (Reprise)
I have no idea why people hate this one so much, it's so cute. I love the little twinkles in the background. Chaggie is adorable and their harmonies are SO good. Doesn't beat the original, though.
#8: Loser, Baby
I know, this one's a little low. It's at the halfway mark, so that's gotta count for something. I love it, huskerdust being cuties and Keith David being an eargasm is gold. It's just not as good as so many of the songs, it lacks the emotion everything above it does.
#7: Poison
Incredible. Absolutely immaculate and heartbreaking. I would put this at the top, I really would, but as a theatre kid I have a bias for harmonies. It's heartbreaking yet an amazing depiction that just shows how brutal it can be sometimes.
#6: More Than Anything
I found myself bumping this one down more than I wanted to honestly. It's lovely. Jeremy Jordan is heartbreakingly fatherly, and Charlie and him coming to their senses and working things out brings tears of joy to my eyes. Also, their harmonies are amazing. Sometimes my sibling and I sing them lmao
#5: It Starts With Sorry
I will defend this song 'till my dying breath. It's got harmonies, it's got cuteness, and I am very fond of Sir. Pentious. I don't know how somebody could hate it, it's so wholesome and sweet and genuinely a good message.
#4: Stayed Gone
This one. Omfg. Vox and Alastor are some of the most dopamine inducing characters on the planet. Hearing them bicker is my life. I love Vox's articulate and intense voice, and I love Alastor's shamelessness in his petty-ness. Him saying "That's the tea" was groundbreaking. Also, seeing Alastor's big ass demon form was as horrifying as it was the greatest thing ever. I love Alastor being a weird eldritch horror monster thing so much.
#3: Ready for This
I didn't expect this one to get so high, but as I was thinking about it I realized just how much I adore it. Charlie being... Charlie and singing from the heart and then transitioning into a bouncy showtune... chefs kiss. I love the cannibals singing together in response- something about it just tickles my brain. Also, Alastor's little vocalizations scratch an itch deep within me.
#2: The show must go on / Finale
AJKLFJDKLJFLDSFN If I talked about this one for as long as I wanted to, this post would be longer than Tumblr itself. The way it starts with the Sir Pentious sign was so sad, and Charlie's heartbreaking vocals are perfect. "This bloodshed could've been avoided" might be the best thing ever. Then it goes to Lucifer triggering my daddy issues. (thanks.) Obviously the Vees killed it with their little bit. (I love Vox) Then, we have Alastor having a giant musical mental breakdown because he accidently gave a fuck, which was as sad as it was hilarious.
#1: Whatever it Takes
HOOOOOLY SHITTTTTTT I love this song. The way Zestial starts it (big on the relationship between carmilla and zestial they're married because i said so) with his incredible vocals, and then Carmilla breaking into this absolute power ballad. Vaggie's voice is great too, I love her soft voice a lot going with Carmilla's powerful one. Also, and I know I've said it a lot, THE HARMONIESSSSSS UGHH
Hope you enjoyed the infodump of me giving my opinion that no one asked for <3

Thinking about that time my high school had their annual field day where rides, food stands, and other festivities were brought onto school grounds for a limited amount of time. One of these festivities included a clown who showed up every year to make awesome balloon art for students free of cost. He would make detailed swords, shields, top hats, and the like. I thought it was pretty badass, but all I wanted was a simple balloon dog. I haven’t had a balloon dog since I was super young and I love the dumb things—I think they’re cute. So I did what any sensible balloon dog-loving fiend with a respect for clowns would do and waited in the mile-long line for my funky guy. The field day only lasted for a limited amount of time per day, and I knew my wait would take up most of it, but it was worth it for a well-crafted balloon dog. I finally get to the front end of the line after what felt like hours and what do I hear that crafty clown fuck say? He refuses to do ANY balloon animals and ESPECIALLY NOT ballon dogs….. I’m sorry………. No balloon dogs? Where’s the whimsy?? Where’s the joy?? I’ve never seen a clown who hates fun as much as the clown standing just a few feet away. I was devastated and the field day was starting to wrap up. I don’t know what the fuck balloon dogs did to you, man, but they are innocent. I was ROBBED of my balloon dog that day and still have not ever had a balloon dog since my hope was crushed. There will not be a day where I don’t sit in my malice and despair thinking about what could’ve been. That clown has no idea what he did but one day, I will get my balloon dog

for reidesypoo as well :D — 14, 15, 22, 32, 47!
FINALLY DOING PT 2 OF BREE'S EPIQUE QUESTIONS thank you my fwend  ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
💌 sixty-nine questions for your ttrpg characters!
14. what keeps them up at night? right now he's extremely nervous about fucking up his status as his homeland's ambassador. it's been his dream to thrive in this role for a long, long time - even when it was just a like... long-shot silly fantasy. if he does a bad job at it, he's worried it'll ruin all the positive developments he's had with his family as of late (especially regarding his father lmfao), or that it'll endanger his home (WHICH HE LOVES!!!!! he looooves laverathia so much).
LIKE. reides is a confident person most of the time but he's made a lot of big choices lately. he was at a crossroads and he made a choice to start walking down a specific path. and it's the path he WANTS to take! more than anything!!! but now he's dealing with the responsibilities that come along with it. he was previously the type to run from his responsibilities as quickly as he possibly could so you know. big changes. big challenges. ;LDFKDLKG it's the most serious he's ever been about anything and he's gonna do his BEST but he's genuinely not sure he has it in him. lots and lots of fears circling around him rn!!! sleepless nights aside, he will meet them head-on >:)
15. is there something that never fails to make them laugh? as cheesy as it is, he loves aske's silly stories a lot. because......... he loves aske. 😳 LDKGDLGK otherwise i think he gets super, super happy every time he learns a new spell - especially when he manages to teach himself one. as a teenager his process of trial and error was a lot more funny, since his experiments would have some wacky little results, but he still has those bursts of joy whenever he succeeds at casting something new!
22. how would they decorate their living space, if they had a chance? he would probably opt to have it on land for convenience's sake, but having some sort of indoor pool for a water portion of it would be ideal for sure, since there's some stuff he'd likely want from laverathia which wouldn't be too well-suited to the surface world! and he would also definitely like to be close to the sea, too - so maybe the inside of this water zone has some sort of connection to the sea...? a sea pool? idk. technicalities. but that would be The Dream. a shrine to persana in that pool would also be ideal since reides is very faithful to him. ;^; that's his GOD!!!
but layout aside, the room would resemble a big study with tons of books and bottles of ink and various writing utensils!!! and it'd be decorated with a whole lot of whimsy!! lots of colourful furniture and paintings that make reides happy, prob with a bit of a nautical theme... and there'd be a lot of random objects (TREASURES!!!) that he picked up along the course of his adventures. along with a huge bed. huge beds are one of reides' weaknesses i'm ngl. it's the princely background showing. LMFAO
32. which of your decisions led to their voice being the way it is? i don't really put on a specific voice for reides - at most it's just like, a tone to accomodate his mannerisms - but in terms of how i speak as him... honestly it just comes to me with how i characterize him!!! i knew i wanted him to be kinda ditzy from the get-go, and i wanted him to say fun things very often (he definitely has no qualms with speaking his mind LOL)... so he generally has a cheerful, casual quality to how he speaks. and when he's angry, i want that anger to surge and crash!!! much like a storm. he's very emotional as a character so it's fun when i get to show off his volatileness. there's also usually a bit of a mischievous edge to him that i really love portraying hehe.
47. what could they talk about for hours on end? there's the obligatory wizard answer here (his magic), which is absolutely true, but on a more personal level? his home!!! laverathia!!! he never really gets the chance to talk about it (it's. you know. secret. for the most part. like most of the ppl up on the surface have no idea it exists sooo you know it's just not something he gets to talk about often. and he doesn't want to jeopardize its safety so he's not about to go off about it unprompted LMAO) but if anyone he trusts were to ask him about laverathian stuff he'd literally go on and on and on. it's crazy because he would deflect so much about it in the past but now that he's reconnected with it, he's just full of love for it. he will tell you all about the shipwrecks he explored and all about the stuff his fellow tritons craft and all about persana and all about EVERYTHING!!!!

13, 14, 18, 19, 38 🥸 (sorry if some have been answered whoops)
13) Favourite ship and why?
HMMMMMM I WONDER (it's PatCap). God I fucking love those two and the kinda rivals (to lovers) thing they got going on. And the way they show different forms of leadership. They're the same but they're different and AAAAAAAAAA
14) Least favourite ship and why? (Please be nice though!)
I think Kitty/Thomas. If Kitty wasn't portrayed as childish and kinda naive and shit then I wouldn't care but idk...always just kinda seems off to me. (and also CapVers but mainly cuz it's overrated) Like...I know Kitty isn't an actual child but idk. It very lowkey gives me same vibez as "WeLl TecHnIcAlLy tHeY'Re 3000 yEars OlD". Yeah she is an adult but just...idk it just kinda weirds me out a bit. Maybe it's a me problem but
18) What is your favourite Ghosts fanfiction?
okay so this is really hard because on one hand Seb you're fuckin amazing but on the other...you know what you did. BUT OOT IS SO GOOD EVEN THO AAAAAAAAA. But also @ghosts-of-love holy fuck you're writing is amazing and I adore (aha) your fics. I can't choose AAAAAAAAAAAAA. But Out Of Touch by @stop-saying-tootsie and Adored, LtF and TQATD are definitely the top of the list. Also, if you haven't read this PLEASE DO. I promise you nothing bad happens in Out Of Touch. OOT is filled with joy and whimsy :) there is no sarcasm in this at all (btw just to clarify, yeah that was all sarcastic. have fun!)
19) What is your favourite Ghosts fan art?
Oh fuck. I think one of my faves was Robin as a Pokemon trainer cuz i inspired it. Otherwise it's either gotta be this by @wattse or this by @kami-ships-it very beautiful artworks and great styles. Love the colours and textures.
38) It's your turn to pick a movie for film club! What are you watching?
:) :))) :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I am aboutta write a LOT :))))))))))))))))
OKAY SO, the first one that comes to mind is Handsome Devil. Would this essentially be emotional turmoil for Cap ? Absolutely yes but 1) I'd love to see him understand that times have changed and people are accepting of queerness and 2) it's a beautiful movie that I think all the ghosts could benefit from watching. Especially the Captain. It's about these two kids in an irish boarding school who form an unlikely friendship (Ned - outcast loner and Conor - rugby fiend loved by the school for his skills). PLEASE WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T. Also the soundtrack for this movie is BEAUTIFUL and makes me go a lil insane every time I watch it. IT"S GOT ANDREW SCOTT AS A GAY ENGLISH TEACHER !!!
Otherwise, I'd also choose The Nice Guys. Fun detective buddy-cop movie and so far everyone I've showed it to has enjoyed it. I also think it'd start a really good discussion about sex work and the judicial system. Not necessarily in relation to each other but still. Fanny would definitely be shocked just at the opening scene but honestly, I think after some discussing she'd enjoy it too. Maybe. Julian definitely would. But it's fuckin hilarious and also heartwarming with the lil hint of found family.
OOH OR OCEAN'S 11 now there's some good found family with another stellar soundtrack. Or Knives Out. NOW THAT, Fanny would love. I think she'd like the twist of it not actually being about WHODUNNIT but if Marta can get away with it and then finding out THE OTHER twist. Although idk how she'd feel about the whole "family losing their inheritance" thing. Hmmm. Idk why Fanny's been the one I'm tryna impress here. I think cuz most of them would enjoy these without fuss but ya know...Fanny.
Okay, if i had to choose ONE :( it'd be Handsome Devil. I'd love to make the ghosts watch that and see who's crying by the end of it :) and see who's trying to be very indifferent about it *cough* cap *cough cough*

Better late than never, but finally, here is Crisanta’s birthday interview! I hope you all enjoy getting to know her better! Warning: dad jokes ahead.
~~~
Tumblr media
Yuulan: Happy Birthday!
Crisanta: Thankies, Yuu-chan! Hope you’re having fun!
Y: How are you feeling having everyone celebrate you today?
C: It feels great! I’m fully enjoying myself but I’ve been feeling a little warm since the party started.
Y: Really? Is your birthday outfit uncomfortable?
C: Oh no, not at all. I feel warm because everyone keeps toasting me!
Y: Toasting…you…oh…oh! *realizes the joke and begins laughing*
C: *laughing too* That’s what I love, seeing people laugh. Doubly so when I can be the cause of that laughter! I feel there’s few things in the world as wonderful as true, genuine laughter. But not the cruel kind that comes at someone else’s expense, laughter that comes from joy.
Y: Making people laugh seems to be a gift of yours. But since it’s your birthday, you should be the one receiving gifts. Have you received any today?
C: Many in fact! Lots of drawing supplies and game pieces. I also got a super cute card and letter from my litter sister, I can’t wait to see her again on my next break from school. But would you like to know what’s been the best thing I’ve received today?
Y: Sure, tell me.
C: *giggles* Another year of age!
~~~
Tumblr media
Y: Whenever I see you, you’re always doodling in your sketchbook. What are your favorite things to draw?
C: There are a lot of things I love to draw, generally, I just love to create things. But if I had to choose, I love to draw people, portraits.
Y: Is there a reason you enjoy portrait-drawing best?
C: Art is made up of the fascinating and beautiful and when I draw someone, I have an up close view of what makes them unique. In order to fully capture their likeness, I end up noticing little things about them that I might not have at first, like putting together the pieces of a puzzle, another thing I enjoy doing.
Y: You like puzzles?
C: And board games in general, but puzzles are my favorite because they challenge the artistic side of my brain. Since a puzzle is basically a picture you have to put together and if you put it together wrong, it looks weird.
Y: Ah I see, but back to your drawing, is there a portrait you’ve made that you particularly like?
C: As an artist, I find something I love about everything I draw so that’s a tough one! I think my portrait of Riddle-san was very good. Apparently he thought so too because when he caught me drawing him, when I was supposed to be studying, I didn’t lose my head! Trey-san even commented on how well I had captured his likeness. But I was given a warning not to be caught drawing during dorm study hour again so I’m much more careful about it now.
Y: Hehe, I understand.
C: But if I had to choose, the portrait I’m currently making has been my favorite so far! I’m still in the early stages but once it’s done, it will be so beautiful!
Y: Really? Who is it a portrait of?
C: It’s…uh…*blushes*...actually, I’m sorry, but that’s a secret!

Y: What’s your favorite food?
C: I love sweet things, especially mini sweets. Cupcakes, petit fours, tartlets, things like that! I love them because they’re easy to eat and I can use my hands. And they’re so cute! Like flowers or jewels. Most of my magicam feed is made up of the cute little treats we have for our unbirthday parties at Heartslabyul.
Y: What’s your least favorite food?
C: Sour candies, because sour is the opposite of sweet. Something about them just don’t really vibe with my tastebuds because in my mind, I’m thinking candies should be sweet. I’m not a big fan of bitter candies for the same reason.
Y: With your love of sweets, I’m guessing you feel pretty at home in Heartslabyul then.
C: Yeah, I love my dorm and Trey-san makes the best sweets! But I also love my dormmates too. We all look out for each other and Riddle-san really does care about us, even if he can be uber strict at times. There’s a sense of whimsy when you enter through the gates of our dorm that’s kind of infectious when you think about it. Even with the mountain of rules. And best of all, I have frequent access to all of my favorite foods!
Y: Be sure not to eat too many though.
C: Hehe, don’t worry, Yuu-chan! It’s my birthday, remember? And you know, birthdays are good for your health. It’s science in fact!
Y: Really? Why?
C: Because, people who have more birthdays always live longer!
Y: *laughing* I will remember that! Once again, happy birthday!
(A/N: Groovy art is a WIP but would show Crisanta in her room after the birthday party, opening the present Ione gave her)
