i did not collect 900 korok seeds for hestu to not know who i am
#honestly my BIGGEST gripe with this game#is that so many npcs - even ones you absolutely HAD to interact with in botw#- talk to you as if you've never met them before#you go to hateno and everyone's like 'hey strange man'#you go to your house and there's a fucking cleaner in there going 'i am keeping it nice for zelda'#and i'm like. GIRL THIS IS MY FUCKING HOUSE???#i know there's been a lot of 'lol hylian tony hawk' jokes but like#it actually rly impacts my enjoyment of the game#bc it doesn't make any fucking sense that people that you interacted with in botw suddenly don't know who you are#esp in hateno like.... link is zelda's swordsman#even if he HADN'T bought the house in botw. he would still have been with her IN TOTK CANON#so like??? why don't think recognise the guy that followed her around all the time???#literally such a stupid fucking decision#SO much of the love i had for botw#was in how lived in it felt#was the way hyrule truly felt like a home#esp hateno#you could form relationships with people#there's so much familiarity there#with the people and with the land#and then you get to lookout landing and people act like you've never seen a map before#girl i literally had to unlock the towers in the last game it was literally a CORE PART OF THE GAME. I KNOW WHERE FUCKING GERUDO DESERT IS.#lbr how many people are playing totk without botw. a very small amount i imagine.#it's so fucking. goes rabid and feral and chews paper#ugh#tears of the kingdom#totk#the legend of zelda#i will be just violently ignoring all this bc it literally does not make canonical sense#im curious if anyone else feels the same

i think totk improved on botw in a lot of ways but i also still had the same issues w it that i did w botw and it had new issues as well (the inventory was a nightmare, armor upgrade reqs were ridiculous, too many collectible-based quests esp the fucking hudson signs)
but my biggest complaint was that even with a storyline that i personally found more interesting, there is just zero connection to it at all. botw and totk feel like revenge for skyward sword being so emotional, linear, and story-driven (iirc miyamoto was not happy with its direction and he and aonuma (?) were just undoing each other's work which is partly why the game suffers from repetition)
so now we get zero emotional attachment to anything that's going on except in cutscenes that aren't even required and have no visible impact on link in any way. hardly any of the sidequests feel meaningful, and the ones that could have been always seemed to fall short. the npcs seem weirdly chipper about the gloom spreading, the ground splitting open, and the earth levitating into the sky. many of them that should remember you just... don't, for some reason, like there's so little development in any of link's relationships with any of these people, zelda included, as if he hasn't even existed for the past eight years between games, like what was with the hateno village retconning
my personal favorite quests were awakening the fairy fountains (felt like classic zelda and i liked that it made a permanent impact on the world, even rewarding you with a permanent new rendition of epona's song at every stable), giving all the bubbul gems to koltin (you have to go out of your way to talk to his brother kilton to get the full kinda bittersweet ending and it's a rare touching moment imo), and the balloon thing with rhondson and hudson's daughter (i liked that it actually expanded on a questline from botw and it was also bittersweet), also i liked penn and the newspaper questline
the biggest improvement imo was the shrines, the puzzles were so much more interesting with so many possible solutions, and the temples/bosses were so much better than the divine beasts and stupid scourges
but idk i just... feel like i wanted more from it. to me the story is just as important as the gameplay and tbh in both games link feels so detached from the plot, like it's just happening around him, not to him. and you can argue that in the older games they didn't explore his emotional state or w/e but the narratives were tight enough that you felt immersed anyway, and could project your own feelings onto him. these games actively thwart your attempts to humanize the silent protagonist bc he's more emotional about fucking cooking than about being manipulated by a creepy puppet of the woman he's been with for 8+ years at this point (should've made puppet zelda a boss again smh) or seeing memories of people dying horribly
all of which is too far spaced out between, idk, grinding for lionel parts
with the world as big as it is, nothing in it is allowed to be too big and i'm concerned that this is just what zelda games are going to be like from now on. i hope the next project announced will be something completely different.

[totk] what's up with dinraal?
shoutout to the person that reblogged this post of mine! tbh i completely forgot about it (and lowkey this account too). im gonna be honest i downloaded honkai star rail right before totk came out bc i missed the open world so like 5 months after finishing totk thats all i did bro the grind is so bad
[tbh i cannot remember the specifics of the plot rn would recommend not reading if you've not finished totk and botw + most sides]
anyways tbh to me it feels kinda like the botw/totk fanbase is slowly slowing growth esp with the announcement of no dlc... that's why i sorta lost interest. but basically
naydra = widsom, owl (ergo mineru/zelda?)
farosh = courage, dragon (ergo rauru/link?)
dinraal = power, boar (ergo ???/ganondorf)
clearly the power aspect was of some importance considering they had boar statues (again pic in this reddit post); however reading the article on the wiki (i have not 100%ed the game) they said the true crest of the zonai is not the spiral we see all over faron, but a different rectangular crest (let me see if i can find an image) i believe they were referring to the secret stones? which almost makes sense considering the spiral but at the end of the day that spiral looks like a much more evolved version of the secret stone crest, nor would the placement of the zonai people make any sense in regards to what we seen in totk: why are the ruins concentrated in the faron jungle, which is much farther south than the great plateau where the zonai are shown to have resided?
i mean even going onto dinraal, on another wiki it says that she's a fire spirit serving the spring of power; but the spring of power seems to be almost completely hylian in contrast to the spring of courage in the jungle. interestingly enough though unlike really in hateno necluda area there seem to be more zonai ruins but again underground or seemingly not tied to the zonai (bargainer statue).
naydra matches up with nayru, farosh with lanayru (farore maybe) but who does that leave dinraal with? actually it leaves her with din lmao i forgot there were three goddesses but actually therefore are these dragons like the literal immortalized forms of the three goddesses from like the non totk botw games? tbh then i think the ganondorf linkage is a red herring. the zonai (at least whoever was on the surface) must have worshipped the triforce. but i think this still does not solve the mystery of which zonai(?) would have been associated with the power aspect of the triforce. will we ever find out? idk... thank you for coming to my ted talk

I'm making myself play TotK even thou I still can't get myself hyped to play it. Long post under cut.
I went from having only one tower to now having about half. Still missing the two snow towers, Gerudo, Faron, Akkala, some other one I'm sure, but I finally have more towers. I killed the Flux Contrust I on the Great Sky Island and fused its core to a weapon so now I have a really big stick.
Where the Hell is the West Akkala stable? I remember it being just up the road from East but the only thing you the is the Tech Lab. Don't have the tower for this region so I don't have a map.
Made it to Zora's Domain just cause I could bounce over there from the tower. Also saved Bazz. Had to. Didn't do any main quest bounced outta there after meeting Sidon again and gettin my Zora armour (wooooooo!). Avoided my first Lynel sighting and it was fuckin SILVER. Should have taken a pic. Whoops.
Accidentally got more references for Koichi, still missing Lynel (whoops) and somethin else.
Still have crap weapons and crap armour, I just want to find armour with better defense than 7 that doesn't involve fighting a god damn boss. Just some place I can sneak in. I have yet to awaken any fairies. I'm going to start more aggressively scanning in amiibo, I did get the Seven Sage Sword but haven't used it yet I just want my Majora's Mask back. I want the Fierce Deity stuff too but I don't remember if my amiibo give it. I think the Poe dude will sell it but he doesn't have it on stock.
Speaking of stock, I helped Kilton's brother so he's somewhere now. Gave me a Bokoblin mask, this will be very helpful. I still want the Samurai Blupee armour, not sure who stocks it or where Kolton is now. Kilton is on Tarrey Town ig. I don't want the armour for its TP Rich Bitch affect, it just looks reeeeeeeaaaaally cool and I want it so bad. I will kill all the frogs for it. Once I get my GOD DAMN SENSOR FIXED it's over for the frogs.
Helped a five yr old go to Gerudo Town. Seems a little young but idk.
Found two more memories, one where Rarau fuckin obliterates Moldugas.
A nice Tumblr user told me Josha has another quest and after that Robbie will move back to the Akkala lab so he can give me the travel medallion.
Well I was in the area and cleaned out the lab cause why not, got the second piece of Yiga gear wooo. I got a prototype travel medallion that doesn't FUCKIN WORK. Josha will NOT give me her new quest so I can't get Robbie to fix it. The Hateno people are STILL not electing a new mayor even thou I've stalked CeCe & committed breaking-and-entering into Rede's shed.
Offered Satori an apple and now there's these weird blue pillars of light that lead me to hidden locations. One had a very easy shrine that straight up gave me a blessing, thank you very much Satori. The one in Kakariko did not have a shrine.
Bought the Sheikah shirt with the random gems I mined while doing some quest thing. Soon, I will be so sneaky. Really do need to wake up the fairies so I can upgrade its defense a bit. I take a hit like a water balloon (not good at all).
Ran out of arrows again. Ran out of Ruppes. There is simply not enough arrows in the world to keep me stocked up, esp when there's only one type of arrow now. I wish I hadn't let my Switch update so I could dupe shit to sell. The new method is fuckin complicated af and requires too much shit needed. At that point just farm it.
I do have a heat resist gear with level one, does that mean I can go to Gerudo Town or Kara Kara Bazaar (as in make it through the sandstorm during the day) and find another piece of heat resist there? I also have cold resist level 1 from pants, no flame or ice weapons thou.

Some botw tips I've learned after a little while of playing
- Yiga blademasters can't tell the difference between bombs and bananas
- There's a steady supply of endura carrots around every fairy fountain
- Most problems can be avoided by climbing a wall or gliding past them. I didn't even Realize there were monsters at the base of akkala tower because I glided to it from the top of Death Mountain, trying to avoid the trek and the few guardian scouts I spotted
- When using stamina, doing the thing that makes you go fast usually uses more stamina and takes you less distance. If you don't think you can do it, try doing it slowly
- Yes, the full armour set is worth the money
- Don't get rid of/sell stuff until you're certain there isn't a good use for it (ex: Luminous stones can be traded 10 for a diamond, and also used in fairy fountains). You have infinite room for items and armour
- Use the bad weapons first unless it's a mini boss or you really wanna go fast
- Do the shrine quests do the shrine quests just trust me if you get a shrine quest Do It there is no shame in googling how
- Do all the labyrinths and the lost woods it's worth it. Just the experience is very pleasant to me but also the labyrinths are Super full of treasure
- Find the dragon gods. Shoot the dragon gods. Collect stuff that falls off of the dragon gods
- If you see a beam of light/shooting star pin the spot the fuckers coming from/landed and run over there
- If you're worried about money, go to a stable/your house if you bought it. There will be an iron sledgehammer, they respawn every blood moon. Find the hammer, take it, and go to hateno tower. Glide down. There's ore deposits fucking everywhere around the cliffside, and one rare ore deposit. Break them. Sell your finds.
-If you're still worried about money, go to the stable at the base of death mountain and grab the sledgehammer. If you have the flamebreaker armour that will help, esp if it's upgraded twice so you can be fireproof, because there's a LOT of enemies. Make your way up death mountain however you like, if you go off the path a lot there's a lot of ore and rare ore. There's a place where the path is dotted, that's a series of caves you definitely wanna go through. There are a lot of enemies though so look out. And there's a roaming guardian at one end of the path. Anyway death mountain is just really covered in ore everywhere so you Will get rich. You might break your sledgehammer but that's fine just go to another stable and find a new one.
-STILL worried about money? You're in luck! Go to satori mountain. This might take a few day night cycles but you can light a fire if you wanna. You want a night where you see smth glowing. Sneak over there. God horse thingey is great and all but seriously theres a fuckton of blupees just shoot them and get ur money
- How are you still worried about money??? Ok fine go kill wolves, spears are useful here. Depending where you are you'll either get prime or gourmet meat. If you're in a rly cold place you need to grab it quick before it becomes icy prime/gourmet meat. Do not kill it with fire, then it becomes seared, and dont kill it with ice, then its icy yet again. Killing bears gets gourmet as well but it's way more difficult. Now make some meals with your findings and sell them
Feel free to add on

Hey bruh can we get an epic infodump about that BOTW au, because I am HERE for some self indulgent content, hit this niche Zelda/TAZ fan audience with that tasty au over here
i just woke up so this might not be too legible but :3333 also obviously spoilers for botw for ppl who haven’t played it and don’t wanna be spoiled
(most of it is under the cut though because WOW this got long akdnajfnsjf)
okay so taako is link and lup is zelda. instead of being a princess and knight they’re a king and queen co-ruling faerun. there isn’t really a king rhoam figure in this? like they don’t have a parent/guardian they pops up in the memories, it’s just them ruling the kingdom. when the prophecy came, they knew one of them was the royal with the goddess’ blood in them and the other would be the hero with the darkness sealing weapon. obviously both of them would have the same blood or whatever since they’re twins, but it comes down to who can properly wield the magic. as it turns out, lup is the magic twin and taako is the weapon wielding twin. their enemy, usually ganon, is instead the hunger.
there is still an old civilization of ppl with ancient technology, though i don’t really have a name for them, so i’ll keep calling them sheikah. BUT, there is a modern day group of people dedicating themselves to learning all they can about the sheikah technology in order to prepare for the return of the hunger. they are the institute of past research and exploration, IPRE for short. it is made up by the rest of the seven birds, among a few others.
the champions are davenport, merle, magnus, and barry. lucretia is kinda how she was in TSC canon, just sorta tagging along to write everything down, but that changes once they make the grand relics. speaking of, the light of creation replaces the master sword in this instance. it has the power to fight off the hunger, as well as take the shape of any weapon taako can imagine. that’s how we get the flaming raging poisoning sword of doom and the krebstar. but lup and barry, ever the scientists, are like “is there any way to… break the light into pieces? so more people get super powerful weapons against the apocalypse?” so they do
some of the relics are different, though. the philosopher’s stone doesn’t change things, but it changes itself, keeping that weapon-changing property of the original light. obviously, since it’s a seventh of what it used to be, it isn’t as powerful. but it’s still pretty damn powerful compared to the rest of the weapons in the world. the gaia sash is different too, adding healing on top of the plant magic. the animus bell basically makes undead armies instead of the soul switching magic from canon. basically, the relics’ powers are altered to better fit a combat situation. also they’re the gifts given to taako after the divine beasts (replacing urbosa’s fury/daruk’s protection/etc) so they would need a more combative/practical use. the healing part of the gaia sash is basically this au’s mipha’s grace akfnajfnsj
one relic in particular is interesting, and that’s the phoenix fire gauntlet. with lup’s struggle to unlock her powers, she created the gauntlet as a sort of conductor for magic energy. she’s incredibly proficient in normal magic (esp evocation) but this goddess magic is tricky to unlock, and it’s super frustrating. the other stuff came so easy to her, so why is this hard? unfortunately, the gauntlet didn’t help with that :-(
lucretia and her relic are also interesting in this au. as i mentioned in the ficlet i posted, she intended to use the bulwark staff to protect the champions, and she couldn’t, so she blames herself for everything that happened. obviously, it’s not her fault and i make myself sad thinking about her being sad T_T but as a result of this, plus a bit of good ol paranoia, she uses the bulwark staff to create a big bubble shield around phandalin (this au’s kakariko villiage) the rest of the IPRE live here (basically the BOB, so killian, carey, johann, etc)
i won’t go too into detail for the rest of the story, as it’s fairly similar to botw canon other than that, but some things to note are this: the divine beasts are different, so as to suit the champions better. magnus and merle have a bear and owl, respectively, but idk what’s for barry and davenport (definitely open to suggestions akdnajdns). also, the yiga clan is called the shadow brethren, because i love me a good amnesty reference. it’s leader is kalen, and he’s an actual threat to taako, unlike kogha. i’d imagine the brethren tie to magnus’ divine beast because kalen ties to his storyline. also, the gauntlet basically becomes the bow of light in this au, aka what taako uses to defeat the hunger once and for all
other characters to note are:
kravitz and the raven queen, basically purah and symin in the hateno ancient tech lab. they’re a mother and son duo, with TRQ living through the calamity and kravitz being born afterwards
lucas and maureen are in robbie and jerrin’s place as another mother-son duo in the same position as krav + TRQ; maureen lived through the calamity and lucas was born after
(everyone is basically human in this, or at least has human lifespans, so 100 years is definitely a long time for someone to live through. maureen and TRQ developed magic to prevent them from aging all those years. lucretia was the first volunteer to use this magic, but it kinda failed and instead only slowed down her aging. that’s why she’s her older self when taako wakes up.)
the goddess hylia is instead istus. not much changes there, she’s just the goddess everyone references akdnakdjs
yknow the characters that help link get to the divine beasts in canon? like sidon, riju, etc? they’re replaced by other characters depending on what relic taako is going after, and it correlates to canon. so when he’s going after davenport’s divine beast/the oculus, he meets angus. when going after the owl/gaia sash, he meets hurley and sloane. so on and so forth. though he DEFINITELY meets julia in refuge and she DEFINITELY does NOT have a crush on the hero of legend who piloted the bear divine beast 100 years ago ;)))))
differently from botw canon, taako actually develops a strong relationship with lucretia, who is pretty much impa with a different backstory. as he gets his memories back he realizes he had six incredibly close best friends and now five of them are gone, so he kinda gravitates to her when he’s with her
one more thing to note is that after taako defeats the hunger and lup is free, she combines the relics into the light and uses it to bring the dead champions back because FUCK death separating this family. lup “phantasmal and resplendent” adventurezone would never allow it. if her brother gets brought back from the dead, so do her friends and her husband, thank you very much
and that’s… basically it! i could go more in depth with the taakitz/blupjeans side of things, but this is long enough akfnskfnskfn but if anyone wants to know anything else i’m always open to talking about it :D

15- favorite song?
-that’s so tough omg. uhhh i listen to it’s a mistake by men at work a lot? or head over heels by tears for fears. or literally any song from any zelda soundtrack (esp hateno village and romance in the air) the grand pas de deux from the nutcracker. oh! first movement of the new world symphony by dvorak!! listen to that a LOT i love it
23- have you ever met any celebrities?
-no.
30- how many pillows do you sleep with?
-currently just one but it sucks but i can’t get comfortable with any amount. i need new pillows but i’m poor. :(
86- what are you allergic to?
-EVERYTHING. every single type of grass in existence (no really)(at least most of them), all pollens. most molds and dust type things. tomatoes. grapefruit. whatever’s in xanthan gum i’m pretty sure. developing some sort of lactose issue. cats. dogs. rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, hamsters, various rodents, feathers. if it has fur or is a grass, i’m allergic to it. spring sucks. summer is HORRIBLE. i hate living in the rural south. <3

🏢⛪️🔮💕?
🏢: Favorite location in the game?
aaaa everywhere is really pretty but i love the hot springs in hebra, specifically the one at the very peak that i can’t remember the name of. it’s just this hidden away little place where link can take a breather and chill for oNCE IN HIS LIFE
⛪: Favorite village?
i have a soft spot for hateno bc after i got my house i started hanging around there more bc like i might as well get to know the neighbors right? and im just emotional over link having a home and people who care to return to after everything’s over
🔮: Best Champion & New Champion?
how DARE you make me choose uhh. for champion i’ll say mipha bc she’s kind and soft but also a major badass, and i really feel emotional about her death esp bc there are people alive who knew her personally and still grieving her and my angst-loving heart eats it UP. for new champion i think yunobo lowkey for similar reasons, he’s anxious and doesn’t think of himself as brave and yet when the time comes he steps up and does what has to be done, he’s really inspirational
💕: DLC?
im not sure exactly what this is asking but i have the dlc and LOVE it. my favorite part was the champions’ ballad bc i’m a bit more invested in the story of botw over anything else, but i loved the boss battle with the monk at the end of the fifth divine beast quest

📝 and 🏠
is there anything you would change about the game?
-Hhh I wish there was more story to uncover—we get hints of information like the motivation behind the champions in the DLC and link’s life 100 years ago (the house in Hateno and Zelda’s diary) and even though I did enjoy the fact that you could/had to seek all of those things out I wished everyone had been just that more fleshed out, y’know
if you could live in any of the settlements, which one would it be? why?
-I feel like I’ve talked about this a lot on discord esp considering the name of the server but TARREY TOWN, Tarrey town all the way . I loved the fact that we finally got a settlement that was more than just Ethnostate + 1 Other Race and it’s a place that you actively have an investment in considering you BUILD IT, I’m just. Love it very much

Are you okay tol bean? But what if link remembers some of the places, and the people who lived there? Or like, he sees decayed bodies n shit
i am certainly ,,, Feelin A Waylink hates stumbling upon ruins and shit like that bc then he wishes he couldve seen it in its glory but then remembers why its in ruins in the first placeand esp like settlements like fort hateno and hyrule castle town god those fuck him up the most bc then he can see the shells of the destroyed homes and sometimes even remnants of the furniture and shit and he just knows that whoever lived there is long dead now and he knows its because he wasnt strong enough or brave enough to just protect zelda just a little longer and the guilt of all of thats usually too much for him to bear so he. tries to avoid all the ruins he can

I just beat BOTW and I’m gonna yell about it for a minute here we go spoilers ahoy.
Overall, I think it deserved like a 9, perhaps 9.5, but then again I tend to give a lotta unloved games some rather high ratings so idk how much merit my input has (after all I love the hell outta Spirit Tracks and like 95% of the Zelda fandom seems to hate that game.) The gameplay mechanics are amazing, and in my personal experience I was finding decent weapons faster than I was breaking them, so I never had to worry about running into a camp with something like a badly damaged boko club or something to that effect lol.
The tilt puzzle in Myahm Agana in Hateno Village can suck an egg but otherwise I loved the shrine puzzles. For the beasts themselves I went Rudania>Medoh>Ruta>Naboris but if I were to replay I’d just do Vah Ruta first and get it out of the way (and get my free ‘fairy’ lol)
Pretty sure people clicked this to see opinions on specific characters though and that’s what I really wanted to talk about so, in no particular order, my thoughts on:
Sidon: This character was so corny I referred to him as the Ham and Cheese sandwich during my entire Vah Ruta playthrough (which I did 3rd) I get why people like him (conventional attraction and ??british?? accent are big factors I think) but honestly the first time I heard him I thought his accent was Jamaican and tbh that would’ve been more interesting. That or the Skid McMarx voice Game Grumps gave him)
Mipha: uuuuuugh shut up please. Her VA was obviously straining very hard to sound super soft and feminine, esp right before shooting at Ganon. As a person she’s alright but I gotta wonder why she’s totally ok with her relationship with Link consisting of just her running around healing him every time he does something stupid. What’d he do for her? What’s the relationship like outside of her healing? Kudos for Link actually getting engaged (by choice unlike OOT lol) but I’m scratching my head over his choice, there’s lacking context I think.
Revali: What a dickhead, I’m glad he and his terrible bird puns are dead. Kudos to the VA for getting his smugness in every single little line, including the one where he tells you the Revali’s Gale power is charged up again. The writers knew exactly what they were going for with him and fuckin’ nailed it.
Teba: Aka the bird whose name is never remembered. I think he suffered from the rushed writing of the entire Rito segment because it seems the only investment he has in taking down Vah Medoh is that the village chief/elder told him to. Felt kinda flat, but very determined at least.
Urbosa: my favorite champion because she was confident without being downright arrogant, it strongly felt like she knew exactly what she was capable of and likely took a long time to get there. She definitely cared about Zelda, and I bet out of all the champions, she was likely closest to her. It felt more like a personal relationship than professional.
Riju: Surprisingly mature for a kid, I gotta wonder why they didn’t think to just pad the inside of the thunder helm to keep it from slipping lol. She wasn’t a bad character in any way, but at the same time she didn’t stick out beyond being a good basic lead-up to Vah Naboris. Also someone on tungle dot hell is overly-obsessed with sand seal puns and mentioned her room being packed with seal dolls, so naturally I went in to investigate and damn those things’re bigger than she is.
Daruk: second-favorite champion, I love how he’s all about big displays (Zelda coronating Link, his enthusiasm with Vah Rudania, major gestures, etc) His voice acting was good and his characterization was as well, but despite his clearly honest concerns for Zelda in the flashbacks, it still sorta felt more like a business-based relationship than personal. Makes me wonder how much any of the champions actually hung out with Zelda.
Yunobo: MY BOY. MY SON. Would’ve been ‘crush’ but his title is ‘goron youth’ and I’m not about that in the slightest so SON IT IS. A lot of people complain about his voice acting, but I think his voice fits him perfectly. Sure, a couple of lines were a little weird (idk if they had to do his tired panting in the initial introduction, for example) but I especially love how being a descendant of Daruk didn’t make him special beyond, “hey you’re the only thing we can shoot at this damn robot to make it go away”. No special treatment and no ego to follow. Kinda felt like they struggled to find a balance of whether or not he was cowardly, so that kinda took away from it, but by far and away he’s my favorite character in the game.
Zelda: I 100% don’t blame her for being an emotional wreck and I’m really glad Link doesn’t seem to either. Her British accent seemed sorta fake or exaggerated here and there (I don’t think Patricia Summersett herself is British) but she had a really well written story, there was a lot of focus on her struggle to awaken her power, and I think it’s a shame that there isn’t more emphasis on getting those memories (of course, to be fair, it would feel forced if there were, so I guess finding them is both a reward AND incentive.) I wonder how she even got started on rebuilding Hyrule?
Link: This poor, anxious, screaming, naked child. I want to know more about him and am sad that the game tries to keep him blank for player projection. TELL ME BOUT THE BOY. I legit expected him to speak up at some point near the end given it’s a voice-acted Zelda game, but sadly it didn’t happen. Also me wearing the Guardian Helmet kinda sucked the mood out of the final cutscenes, it literally looks like an overturned jomon pot was just jammed on my head.
Ganon: holy fuck what happened to his face. Ok in all seriousness though I didn’t expect something that unsettling waiting for me in The Pit™ given the four blight Ganons were pretty uniform, so if you have a thing about like... spiders or centipedes or things with long spindly limbs I would advise for that, I guess. As always, boar Ganon is hella and personally I’m pleased with the final shot being taken from like 200ft off the ground.
I still have stuff I gotta do, sidequests to finish n’ all that junk, but I’m glad I beat the game in the timeframe that I did (the copy I’ve been playing belongs to my sister’s friend who leaves tomorrow)
