You may have answered this before, but how are you handling characters that don't believe in starclan, like mothwing and cloudtail? Personally I thought it was interesting when reading the books, considering cloudtail, but only to a point because it's very hard to write atheist characters in a setting where there's undeniable proof of the gods/spirits/etc. Like, how did they explain the literal forces of heaven and hell battling on earth??

As An Atheist Myself ™ I have a lot of feelings about the two of them. I think the short answer is just that in a setting where gods are literally undeniable facts of life, "Atheism" looks more like Dystheism, the belief that they exist, but are not worthy of worship.

That seemed to be the conclusion at the end of Mothwing's... i forgor the name of her novella 💀Mothflight's Blaspheme Boogie. It's actually why it's one of my favorite novellas, I really like the way it closes out with Mudfur trying to sales pitch StarClan's goodness to her, she doesn't buy a fucking penny of it, and ultimately concludes that the comfort it provides to her Clanmates is valuable to them but doesn't have to be for her.

So that's how I want to handle them. They have an outsider perspective to the fact that this is a theocracy, based on gods that can be vindictive and vengeful. Scourge/Iceheart is also joining these two, he actually is going to have a minor but important role in Squirrelflight's Horror as a ghost basically giving insight to what happens when you don't worship StarClan when you die.

With him and Mothwing I really know what I'm doing. Mothwing is insight to Leafpool, especially in TNP where she is now a POV, and observing how the though of StarClan influences the behavior of the cats around her. Scourge is killed in the Great Battle and serves as a ghost to witness their trial. Cloudtail...

Cloud's still evolving. He's going to be a supporting character with Ferncloud in her SE and exploring the feelings he has towards Ashfur, now his apprentice, becoming a villain. How he did his job perfectly, raised him with a deep respect towards the warrior code, and that lead to the person he is today. How he couldn't have done things "better" because this DID raise him the way his society expected him to.

But his dystheism is kind of secondary to that. I think the story I've got for him is fine so far, but it needs more of an 'ending' that I can't decide on until they finally kill him in the main books.

Up next are the best lovebirds in ThunderClan! :D The recent release of A Thief in ThunderClan had me in the mood to draw these guys, so I went ahead and made fresh ref sheets for both of them. I decided to make three for Brightheart for each stage in her life - pre-injury, immediately post-injury, and several years post-injury when all of the fur that's going to grow back has grown back. Here we have the end result of Brightheart's healing process with her scars, some years after the initial injury!

During this stage in her life, Brightheart is described as a she-cat with an ear reduced to a few shreds, huge claw marks scored across her muzzle, fur torn away from the right side of her face, only a gouge mark where her eye should be, and thick, soft fur. I've always seen her as a shorthair, so I decided to interpret her as having thick short fur instead of thick long fur. She has a fairly average build, a bit on the lankier side but not by a ton, and she's pretty average in size. She now has scars from the rest of the battles in her life, besides the attack from the dogs.

I tried to stick to all of the descriptors when it came to her scars. Her ear should have a few shreds there instead of being totally gone, but I like to think that Cinderpelt eventually realized she couldn't save the remaining shreds and removed them, or else they were lost in later battles, or something. Some fur has grown back, but this is as much fur as she'll ever get on these scars, and what fur is there is scant and coarse and completely white from the shock of the injury regardless of what the color of the fur in that spot used to be. The areas where the worst damage occured is where the fur will never grow back, as Fireheart noted that she had areas where the fur would never grow back in A Dangerous Path.

For her pattern, Brightheart is described as a white she-cat with ginger patches along her back, a ginger tail, and one blue eye. Pattern and colors are basically the same as before with a few tweaks.

Overall, I'm really happy with how she turned out. :D

Hi, Novel! I noticed on my most recent rewatch that each of the girls tends to use slightly different pronouns when referring to their future selves. Erin uses mostly "you" or "she", KJ uses almost only "she" (a couple of "I"s when she was trying to tell Mac that she thinks she's gay), Tiffany uses "we" a whole lot, and Mac constantly uses "I". Do you have any thoughts on this? I have many feelings about it, but I can't words very well.

For me, it’s a really fascinating way of showing without telling how these girls view the future. Erin flatly refuses to believe she will become Adult!Erin; she’s disappointed by every step that version of her has taken, so she distances from it as much as she can. Adult!Erin is another person with whom to interact or remember; she isn’t Erin. Even when she starts to like her, Erin sees her as a separate person; “god, please let there be four of us”. She never entirely feels like they’re the same person.

KJ is the same. She’s avoiding being boxed in by her potential future, right down to literally running away from it, so that version of her is Another KJ. The difference is, she isn’t disappointed by that woman, exactly; she’s equal parts entranced (film school, a great eye, a director) and terrified (kissing a girl, how does she know, how do I know). So she speaks of her in cautious ways, like you might speak of an older sister—learning from her without being ready to be her. (The “I” is really deliberate here; she knows that she IS gay, she’s making peace with that, that part does belong to them both already, even if it scares her.)

Tiff uses “we” constantly because she is, at least at first, really pleased with most of what she sees. Yeah, she’s still in Stony Stream, and her hair is strange, and she’s dating a loser, but she went to MIT. She was valedictorian. She’s clearly a genius, and she’s a cool genius. By the time she gets really frustrated with Adult!Tiff’s failings, she’s already locked into the mindset that they are the same person. She’s trying to use “we” to coax the grown version of herself back to what she views as the light. (Plus, Tiff is easily the one of them to best understand time travel and its implications—it’s why she goes on to invent it. So for her, yeah, it’s we. It always was going to be, even in 2019.)

And Mac. Mac has no other version. No mirror to look into and be delighted or disgusted. She only has herself, and her brother’s memories, and flowers on a gravesite. There’s no “she” because by 1999, “she” is long dead. Mac isn’t. Mac is still very much alive: angry and scared and dealing with her feelings. There is no “we”; there never was. She doesn’t get that opportunity. And if you want to be really brutal about it: Mac probably never felt like she could be anything other than “I” even before time travel. She protects herself so completely that she doesn’t know how to let someone else in. She has herself to rely on, no one else. The only time she references herself, thinking she has a future before Dylan tells her the truth, she still says I…because, for her, anyone she would become is the escape she’s dreamed of her whole life. I did it. I got out. Until, of course, she finds out she doesn’t.

For the flower topic, she got a Calla Lily when she became an apprentice, a Sand Chrysanthemum when she became a warrior, a Sand Lily when she became a queen and a Sand-Myrtle when she became an elder (currently in the drawing!).

I really want to believe she kept her snarky personality. I hate how the Erins change some she-cat's personalities right after they become a mother? Smhhh, but sometimes it's needed I guess?? That's all I have to say about her, I liked her character development in TPB!

Wedding and Honeymoon Bliss

To Don things breaking isn't a problem, he considers himself quite the handy man after all, he did wish that when things would decide to break they didn't make a massive mess.

Don find's himself too wound up with excitement to sleep as he had plans with Erin the following day. He had been planning and saving for this moment since they started dating and figured a 3 am workout might help calm his nerves.

After spending the day out together on a shared day off Don brought Erin back to his home. Before inviting her inside to have dinner together that he prepared, he proposed to her in which Erin was more than excited to say yes for!

Over dinner the two of them begin discussing plans for the future. Erin suggesting that she move in with Don who would be eager to start a family with Erin once everything was settled and Erin was completely moved in.

The night ended on the toilet breaking but nothing could dampen Don's mood. He never imagined a woman as beautiful and independent as Erin saying yes, and he would make sure their wedding went off perfectly!

The day of the wedding was finally upon them, heading down to the beach to be married with a beautiful view, Don and Erin exchanged their vows and promises for forever.

After the wedding their first day as a married couple was about spending time together, working out in the home gym as both of them needed to keep in shape for their job, and now having someone else to workout with spurred some competition between them!

The first night together the two of them wore themselves out competing in the gym but Don had never had such an intense and beneficial workout then he did while having someone else to workout with. Erin and Don would keep pushing the other to go to their limits and give their all when exercising, but also there to spot the other to make sure they never go past their own limits and hurt themselves.

The second day of marriage was spent adjusting to the routine of having another person in the house, though that evening the two of them intended to make love for the first time, and if they were lucky maybe conceive a baby too.

The days of their honeymoon, simply enjoying the idea of being married, has been complete bliss for Don. He never imagined he would ever be so deeply in love with someone like he was with Erin. He finds himself finding any excuse to pull her close, to kiss and hug his new wife and lose himself in her hazel colored eyes. Being off from work makes it easier to do just that!

Erin deciding to redo her look, not liking what she had going on and wanting to look a little less like she's going to Woodstock.

Don is still excited about being married, checking out his ring to remind himself this is very real!

Idk if this belongs here because it's not about fandom but it is about an author, Terry, who recently (as in YESTERDAY) revealed herself as an anti

She's accusing another author, Tera, of being a rapist, a child abuser, and an elderly abuser because Tera writes about that stuff in her books and Terry says that kind of stuff doesn't belong in the romance genre. She's been spamming her fb page with post after post and each one makes less sense than the last (she'sapparently doing the same thing on her instagram and tiktok but I don't have either of those). She's calling everyone, even her own fans, that try to talk to her enablers and rape apologists

She says she hasn't slept in 5 days so I hope her mental breakdown is just because of a lack of sleep but holy shit

The day Brightheart dies in the canon books will be the day of my own demise

#just randomly started thinking about miss Brightheart and the fact that she's an elder now #she'll probably live a good while longer but eventually she will be killed off #and I will absolutely be no good when that happens #I love that kitty so much she's my second favorite warrior cats character #I'm glad she's been around so long even if the erins did her dirty for most of her life #I only hope that they give her a good and dignified death #and not just kill her offscreen #or have it be ''caused'' by her disability #because otherwise I will go Absolutely Apeshit.
