For the first time in a long while, Shouta's inner alpha is very much on the outer – and his alpha expresses itself in ways Shouta has, to his horror, never experienced before. 

In all the ways that Midoriya is strong, Shouta can match him for flexibility and experience. They grapple each other, spitting, growling, biting the air in each other's faces in a tug of war of whorling emotions. Waves of protectiveness, comfort, and safety against slashes of rage, fright and agitation. Within minutes, Shouta pins the man down. Midoriya freezes in surprise and Shouta takes advantage – crooning and whispering sweet, calming words.

He kisses the man's forehead and pats the night sweats away from Midoriya's eyes with his sleeve, purring until the man slumps against him. 

"Alpha...?" Midoriya whines.

"Yes, Omega," Shouta murmurs with a voice deeper than his own normally. The omega beneath him sniffles and Shouta aims to fight the tears back with another press of lips to Midoriya's forehead. "I'm here."

Shouta, after drinking deeply from his cup, stared down at it for a long moment.  Izuku, the owner and barista, stared at him.  “Did you just burn all of your taste buds off?  Because I feel like you just burned all of your taste buds off.”

“Marry me.”  Shouta finally raised his gaze from the coffee cup, just in time to watch Izuku choke on nothing.  

“I’m sorry, what?!”  Izuku coughed and rubbed his chest with a grimace.  “Are you insane?”

Shouta raised an eyebrow.  “No.  You make the best coffee I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve had a lot of coffee.  We’re obviously soulmates.  Marry me,” he repeated.

Izuku couldn’t help but laugh.  “Ok, you are getting ahead of yourself,” he told Shouta firmly.  “You have to take me on at least one date before you can ask me to marry you,” he joked with a little smirk.

“Good point,” Shouta said thoughtfully.  “You close in three hours.  I’ll be here at close, and I’m going to take you out on a date.”  He made his way out of the coffee shop to the sounds of Izuku tripping over his words and spluttering in disbelief.

Staring at the now closed door, Izuku finally managed to say, “That was not what I meant.”  But he laughed again, helpless against the sudden hilarity that hit him.  “Hell, if I’d known I could get him to ask me out by giving him coffee, I’d have done it weeks ago.”  

It was a slow day, so Izuku focused on starting to clean everything and prepare for close.  After all, apparently he had a date to be ready for.

Very old art for Aideku week, but I'm here for the plot. Day Seven: Soul Mates

In the past, Izuku annoyed witches/sorcerers, being an INCREDIBLY evil person, and fate itself cursed him. The curse causes all of his new reincarnations to die on the same day of the same age every new life, despite the fact that in subsequent lives Midoriya is a good person.

Aizawa, a loyal comrade, friend, lover, husband, followed him every life and death.

At the age of 22, on April 27th of every life, Midoriya dies

Until the Lord had mercy and gave Shouta an amulet that on this day must protect Midoriya every new life and prevent death

2nd century, Midoriya was reborn in the world of heroes. But the amulet was lost in time (it was found during excavations in a grave and sold at auction, and then again and again and again)

The day of death is getting closer and closer, and Aizawa, who also accompanied him in every life, learns about this story (but with different names that they had in a past life's) and tries to find this person and this amulet (he knows for sure that this is true because of the legends and documented things I'm not sure)

From here the plot starts, Aizawa tries to find this person is and how to save him, and Izuku grasps warnings, phantom sensations of hands strangling and cutting him from a past life

I genuinely love how often your Aizawa just falls into somehow going on a date with Izuku and has no idea exactly how this happened but decides to cling on like a koala because he has no idea how to replicate that so he simply cannot let Izuku get away.

"Set your sights on any potential partners once this mission's over?" Shouta can't help asking.

"Not really?" Midoriya shrugs. "I'm not convinced they'll keep their word and approve my status but, uhm, most heroes I was interested in are already paired up, so..."

Shouta sits between two paths—one for self-benefit and the other for the benefit of others. Of course, he's a teacher first with a list of graduates who would surely benefit from the kid's skills. He leans back. "They're called hero pairs, but they're not exclusive to two people. I know some pairs you could join up with," he offers.

Let no one say that Shouta isn't kind to the students he sees to graduation.

"All Might had suggested some recent graduates, but—is it weird to want someone more experienced?" Midoriya bites at his lip and glances away. "You know, to improve my skills?"

Well, he tried—Shouta mentally mutters an apology to Yaoyorozu who would've balanced out well against Midoriya's lack of fashion skills after the experience she earned with the mess of her first hero costume. While Shouta's unsure of what else he can teach the kid, he's confident they can work well together after today.

"Not weird at all," he replies, hiding his secret cheer in a slurp of his soup.
