It’s the last day of the Canterbury Agricultural & Pastural Society Show!
Here’s the difference between American “hunters” and New Zealand hunters 🐎💨
Fences in order: white showjump with plant fillers, upright brush, MASSIVE stack of brown poles, wire upright, MASSIVE fake brick wall, double of upright gates, wine barrels, upright gate, fake cobblestone wall, and the St James Horses sponsored Wall Of Death™️!
Horses are judged on their speed, rhythm, pace, jumping ability, and how in sync the horse&rider pair are. Elimination after one refusal, can’t remember how many faults for a knock down 🤷♀️
Appreciate your inclusion of grooming in the poll because its my favorite part of my lessons. Hell yes I am going to brush this horse while tell them about my day and refuse to make eye contact with anyone else at the barn
Anon I absolutely agree with you
Personal opinion of mine but I think people put too much value into riding their horse and way too little on things like basic bonding, grooming, and care, hell a lot of equestrian don't even know proper saddle fitting nor how to map a horse and it's worrying.
No horse needs to be ridden but all horses need love and care.
new trend just dropped it's called Write A Future Fic For The Early 00s Middle-Grade Horse Girl Book You Read As A Kid it's hip and cool and you'll feel a million different ways about the mexican farm hand kid you projected onto
and that wasn’t even all the science classes they had there was so many. i do feel like my high school offered a lot of class options in general as well as having a lot of options for athletic teams and clubs.
that’s so cool though i want to take zoology!!! my school was very small and so we could barely even run the like standard normal sciences we had to alternate years that we offered ap chem and ap bio 💀💀💀 we did have an awesome graphic design program and that’s kinda all i cared about so i had a good time but it was so frustrating for my sciency friends
I got some shots of Earthangel and I, courtesy of the instructor who allowed us to use the arena. Here are the highlights of our practice:
Advanced level jumping, sponsor-themed course
She balked at the most colorful one, advertising for Leonardo's ice cream
Over a cross-country hedge
A log triangle. I thought she'd have trouble with this one, but she just flew over it
Preparing to clear the keyhole jump
Going through the keyhole from the opposite direction (this one's my favorite)
I can't wait for the festival to begin! I'm not competing for gold, just for the hell of it (but earthangel might be disappointed if we don't win, she's such a diva).
