good morning fellow clowns. im so glad we didn't collectively alucinate a robert mention in front of aaron last night, because ive been thinking about it and, even though the show's writing still leaves a lot to be desired, i believe the craig plot is actually a really clever way to bring robert back because craig's murder kinda ties in with robert's conviction and the writers can conveniently bring up luke's involvement in lee's death and explain robert's new appeal that will supposedly let him go free years before anyone thought possible.

also, this will probably be unpopular bc chas isnt exactly surrounded by fans right now, but i think it would be an interesting twist (which fits into her need to control aaron and repair their relationship somehow) if the 'safety course' excuse she gave vinny yesterday was actually a cover she used not to hide anything related to craig's murder but rather an attempt to reach out to robert because she knows he might be the only one whom aaron will listen to if he is to quit his current path to self-destruction.

I'm finding myself surprisingly undecided on what I want to happen when Vanessa gets back. I'm usually 'queer rep above all', but it can't be denied that I never liked Vanessa much and mostly enjoyed Vanity because I have a crush on Charity and want her to be with a woman + want the wlw rep. it's terrible how they've consistently had several gay male characters/couples, like Robron, Finn/hospital guy and Lawrence/Ronnie during, iirc, the same time, or Ethan and Marcus having their thing while Aaron was dating he who must not be named. unless Marcus was later, but at least with Ethan there were three gay guys at that time. and now we have Nicky, Suni, Arthur and the guy Arthur was/is (?) into (I haven't watched their story because teenagers). whereas since the start of the Robron era, iirc Vanity and then Vanessa and Suzy have been the only wlw rep, but during Ness/Suzy ofc Charity was only with guys. so, the imbalance between mlm and wlw rep is just shameful. so, tl:dr. I do want the wlw rep more than I want Mackity, but I'd prefer it be with Charity and someone else than Vanessa. and I've liked Mackity from the start, they're a really good fit. much better than Vanity ever was (if you're like me and want Charity to be her unlawful chaotic self rather than the more well behaved person it seems she has to be to be with Ness). however, being domestic has made Mackity somewhat boring, to the point that I haven't watched much of their story the last few months. so between undomestic/early Mackity and Vanity, I prefer the former. but between current married (Chloe storyline aside) Mackity and Vanity, I'd prefer Vanity, just for the sake of Gay. then again I enjoyed the reunion kiss more than I thought I would, in fact I might have even rewatched it more than once, so... I just don't know. I guess it'll make it more interesting to watch though, not knowing who I'd rather Charity choose. maybe it's time for Emmerdale's first (as far as I know) poly relationship. :') that aside ideally what I'd want for Charity is for her to be with a woman with a personality similar to Mack's.

They passed a pleasant afternoon with ball games and family time before heading over to the Woolpack for a pub dinner. Aaron kept an eye on Darryl - it was playing on his mind whether Robert would be on board with adopting another child. They had never really talked about it specifically; the assumption had been that they were just going to do temporary fostering, but adoption had never been explicitly ruled out. Aaron still wanted more. He felt nervous about saying it out loud, but he loved the idea of having a big family. Did Robert?

In Hbomberguy's new video, before he gets to the James Somerton of it all, he mentions another guy stealing a "so deep in the closet he's in narnia joke" from Jimmy Carr's 2007 comedy special

I'm just here to tell y'all if Jimmy Carr did come up with that joke, it had to have been earlier than 2007. Before I got into online fandoms I used to be ridiculously obsessed with the UK soap opera Emmerdale. One of the first queer relationships I ever saw on tv came from that show. As part of a drag performance, one of the characters says the line "he's so far in the closet he spends half his week in narnia". This episode aired on January 3rd 2006. I sincerely doubt the writer of this episode came up with the joke either, but we can definitely establish that Jimmy Carr didn't come up with it in 2007, as hbomberguy implies.

Listen, even if Ryan is a demon who won't come back (yet!), they can cast a kid to play Seb!

They kill Rebecca off off screen (as usual with emmerdale mothers these days) and Seb comes to live with his auntie Vic. Only she's struggling because she has Harry and work and her other kid Jacob, so Aaron being the nice guy he is, steps into help (without the dingles emotionally blackmailing him to) and we get daddy Aaron bonding with Seb again... Until a certain someone finally gets his shit together and comes back. (December time maybe? 👀🤡)

It's a shame Danny's own son is too young to play Seb or they could have done a waterloo road with him and Albert.

Adam's gone for only three seconds when Aaron turns around to the patient, who is awake and staring at him.

"HEYYYYYYY, HELLOOOOO!"

Aaron pauses. "Err. Hi? I'm-"

"So pretty!"

Okay, Aaron is not prepared for that. It's not exactly common to get hit on in the A&E. Dr Douchebag is the exception to the rule. Aaron raises his eyebrows at his patient.

"Well… uh." For a long second, he is so caught off guard that he forgets his next move. Good God.

"So, so, soooo prettyyyyy!" Robert Sugden insists with a too-loud sing-song voice.

Bob coughs somewhere in the background, but it sounds suspiciously close to a suppressed laugh. Aaron clears his throat and steps closer to the examination table.

"Well. Anyway. My name's Aaron-"

"Aaron! AAAAAAROOOOON. Aaron. Aaron. Sound's good. S'good." Sugden is grinning now broadly and lifting his right arm as if to reach out for Aaron. Then he stops himself and looks at his naked arm, confusion replacing the drowsy happiness. Sugden peers down at his body with a frown. "Hey, why am I naked? Did I get drunk?" He slowly looks back up at Aaron. "Are you my hookup?" The grin reappears. "Hot damn, yeah! I'm up for it, man!" He winks saucily.

Aaron is a doctor in training at Hotten Hospital. His night shift is quite busy and he just needs a moment of peace to drink a coffee. In comes the next patient, a guy named Robert Sugden, currently high on painkillers.

Chaos ensues.

guys chill. there's no reason for ryan to hurry back bc there's literally nothing for robert to do atm. they can't fit him into any sl and he is too big a character to simply come back to "fix" aaron, plus they are already doing that with chas, not to mention rob's return will have a bigger impact if aaron is stable and already seeing someone else (that way they can give us the ultimate fantasy aka affair 3.0) though i think it would be really funny if they threw rob into the whole caleb/kim feud as some shady contact of caleb's who is actually looking to get home farm for himself cause that's what robert always defaults to short of aaron, and then when cain finally finds out who has been helping caleb behind the scenes (bc cain always finds out innit) he goes ballistic and caleb is like "wot now?" and cain is foaming at the mouth "thats aaron's ex!" and caleb shrugs " ex-boyfriend? so?" and cain just shakes his head "no, his husband!" and then in comes robert all smug&smiles trying to hide the fucked up broken person inside ready to make everything worse for everybody :DDDDD

Emmerdale 30.01.24 Part 3

Aaron struggles to carry his bag & so flings it in front of him in annoyance, Aaron then says if Mackenzie thinks he's a bad guy for abandoning his mum, which Mackenzie denies saying, what about himself for abandoning his son, choosing Charity over him, Aaron using some deflection tactics there.

Aaron says the best way to deal with cancer is to cut it out, Mackenzie gets emotional & tells Aaron he deserved to lose Ruben, who the hell wants him as a dad! Giving him up was the right decision but it doesn't mean he doesn't hate himself every day for it.

Mackenzie tells Aaron if he walks away from his mum he's going to lose & the feeling of loss never goes away.

Chas shares she remembers feeling so helpless with her mum, and is gutted Aaron's now gone, Charity says she's sure he'll be back, Chas thinks she's probably dead to him already & you can't force someone to love you, admits she feels alone.

Mackenzie tells Aaron he's been lashing out at everyone because the loss of Liv is still so raw for him, Aaron wishes the final minutes of Liv's life had played out differently, he didn't say all what he wanted to & Mackenzie reassures him, she knew.

Aaron says he would give anything for a little more time with Liv, to hear her laugh, give her a hug, tell her he loved her, he cries he doesn't have a life without her anymore. Mackenzie says he does, he just needs to realise it.

Aaron cries he can't go through another funeral, Jackson, Liv, Ben, his nan & Robert they all got him to drop his guard & now they are Ghosts, that never stop haunting him. He adds, the more people you love the more people you lose, if you've got nobody then nobody can hurt you.

Mackenzie tells him, If you've got nobody, you've got nothing & the people you love can see through the act, his mum is broken she needed him to care & console her & he couldn't even do that, Aaron replies it's a very good act, he can't let em see through it.

Chas and Cain meet at the bridge of doom, the reminiscing over their childhoods, they agree they haven't turned into Shadrach & Faith but have been influenced by them. Chas wants to break the cycle.

Aaron gets philosophical he says he read life is like a runway you can take off or crash, as he flags down a passing taxi. Mackenzie tells him he can go home to the people he loves or spend the rest of his life crashing, Aaron then hops into the taxi & abruptly departs & Mackenzie is dejected.
