The Johto League is so proud of its new champion. He’s a member of the Blackthorn Dragon Clan, and he values tradition.
The rest of the world values that he photographs well.
You may be any age to challenge the Champion. You may win, and be crowned, but you cannot take on any Champion duties until you turn 18.
Lance prefers the journey over the fame, so many people don’t see him. Many outside the region don’t even know what he looks like beyond a few blurry candids.
He’s very quiet, Champion Lance. When Steven Stone, heir to the Stone fortune, becomes Champion Steven of Hoenn, he notices how Lance doesn’t shy from the paparazzi, but doesn’t speak unless told.
He’s very tall, Champion Lance. When Champion Cynthia takes her place in Sinnoh, she notices how Lance has to take smaller steps to make sure she does not fall behind.
Steven and Cynthia have been inseparable. Whenever there is an important event, it’s Cynthia on Steven’s arm. They are best friends or something else - no one knows and they aren’t answering. It’s like a game to them.
Kanto’s Champion dies. It’s of old age, and was peaceful, but there is no Champion.
Johto steps in like a good neighbor and offers their Champion as a stand-in.
No one ever sees the paperwork.
Suddenly, Lance is coming to events, advertised as the Kanto-Johto Champion. On one side of him, Champion Steven, talking the ear off of reporters. On the other, Champion Cynthia, absorbing the praise and photos.
Steven and Cynthia remember what it was like when they turned 18 and suddenly had to take on everything a Champion does.
They can’t imagine what it must be like having all that responsibility thrust on you before you even reach that age.
Lance is doing a fine job of it anyway.

A fanfiction or a series (my god, a series about this) in which Eli explains (in the voiceover for the series?) just how weird his family is.
Starting with Eli's many aunts and uncles, 3/4 of whom share no blood ties with him. ( Yes, the puppy pack is part of the Hale pack. Yes, Alec was Eli's babysitter. )
( Erica and Boyd would have twins about the same age as Eli. Why would that be? I have no idea. )
( For those who love Scott/Isaac/Allison, they would have 4 children. Yes, exactly, so that 3 of them would come from duos and the last one would come into the world thanks to the magic and presence of 3 DNAs. )
(The whole pack would not live in the huge mansion that is the Stilinski-Hale mansion. Thiam and Morey would have their own place. Sheriff would have refused to move in. )
Then his cousins, of all ages, each more unusual and annoying than the last. With whom he shares the same grimaces when they learn that most of their parents have gone out with each other.
( - Sweet Home Alabama-
- Shut up! )
His dziadzia, who had never been angry with him for ruining his wallpaper (he had every reason to be. They were horrible drawings-) and who had taught him to lie to his tata while making him promise never to lie, understood, you little rascal, when they went to get the greasiest order in the whole fast-food restaurant. And his babcia and his abuela and his abuelo and his tias and his tios and his primos and his primas he knew only in grave form.
Finally, his dads, who look like they hate each other half the time or would kill someone if it made the other half smile. His two dads who have criminal records but brunch with the station cops once a month. His two dads who are both biologically men and who have biologically managed to have a child together.
(Eli politely asks anyone who jokes about him being his parents' little shit to fuck off. His dads told him his tata had a C-section, okay ?!)
A fanfic or series in which we discover the famous Hale Pack that has risen from the ashes and is so feared and respected. Where we discover how Eli feels so alienated from the pack he loves and cherishes, so alienated from his family. How Eli feels he's not cut out to be the next Alpha of the pack. How certain Eli is that he'll never be anything like his incredible, powerful, famous dads, no matter how many times he's told he's the spitting image of Stiles or has Derek's eyes and sourwolf face.
Eli sees himself as the boring kid in this extraordinary family, the boring offspring of a rich heir to a famous werewolf pack, a bad boy with a tragic past in his youth, a DILF today with his dad's super skills, a fair and fierce true Alpha (alive and not DEAD) and an FBI agent as sarcastic as he is intelligent, a supernatural detective in his spare time, a fearsome spark, emissary and Alpha mate. Like the good old cliché of the character with no friends but his cousins and an overpowering entourage, so beloved and popular and so much more remarkable and interesting script-wise than he is.
(Perhaps Eli never could and never will be able to shift? Perhaps being human is in part the source of his fear.)
And being the good old cliché that he is, he apparently becomes interesting when he gets superpowers. (Stiles is not at all happy that the Nemeton has chosen him to be its guardian. In fact, no one in his family seems happy. Great.)

I really hate everything about this playthrough, except for the suit. The high-mirror suit is stunning. I feel like Mando in this thing.
Apart from that, this AU blows, the story is awful, I also elected to go it alone, and the effing Hunter and Emmisary teamed up against me! So don’t do that, always pick a side.
Which ultimately doesn’t mean shit, and the is the single most annoying thing about the regular narrative tbh. I hate choices that are meaningless in the end. But I digress!
Finally, after a very frustrating fight I’ve landed at the buried temple. Time to kiss this accursed timeline goodbye. And good riddance! (I hope the next suit is as nice as this one).

It came to me in a dream.
Made a Horror AU of my favorite childhood game. Drew The Three Guys Ever (Ness, Luigi, King Dedede) but like… didn’t look at references and forgot what King Dedede looked like so I just drew an actual penguin lol.
If y’all want to know more, I’m happy to share.
(ALSO YES I spelled Emissary wrong, I’m tired haha)

Ballister Emissary of Death AU
Okay, so I came up with this AU because I've heard Ballister be referred to as a Sad Wet Cat way too many times. (Not that I'm complaining.) But I also wanted to bridge 2 of my current favorite animated movies together into a nice crossover. So this is a crossover AU between the Netflix movie Nimona and the Dreamworks movie Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
I also wanted to come up with an explanation for how/why Ballister didn't bleed to death (or die from infection) after having his arm chopped off. So in this AU, everything starts the same as in the Nimona movie until after the Queen is killed and Ballister is on the run, having been framed for her murder. He is bleeding heavily after Ambrosius cut off his arm on instinct. Ballister stumbles in a dazed state toward the abandoned junkyard that would become his so-called "evil lair"
But in this AU, the only reason Ballister didn't die from his injury was because Death (Yes, Death from Puss in Boots) made a bargain with him. Call it a favor for a favor. Death would spare Ballister's life and in return, he would work for him as a sort of emissary of Death.
See, Death is all about going after those who (he thinks) deserve to die. But he's not exactly the best when it comes to those who didn't deserve to die (I.e. lost souls and those who died too early, wrongful deaths, you know, like Queen Valerin).
Death's not really great with comforting those kinds of souls and ushering them into the afterlife. But Ballister has a pure heart and might have better luck bringing peace to those souls. And if he doesn't take the job, then someone else would, someone else who might not be as kind or gentle as Ballister, someone who might be more likely to abuse that kind of power.
So of course Ballister agrees. It also gives him the chance to bring closure to Queen Valerin and let her know that it wasn't him who killed her. But that he would make sure to find out who did and bring that person to justice.
When Ballister comes to after making the deal with Death, he brushes it off as a fever dream at first. It's only when Death shows up again later on when he realizes "Oh $hit. That happened. That was a thing I actually did."
I haven't really figured out where the story goes from there other than the fact that Ballister isn't nearly as freaked out by Nimona's shapeshifting as he was in the movie. I mean, after making a deal with an anthropomorphic wolf who is the personification of death, shapeshifting isn't nearly as much of a stretch of the imagination. Ballister grows to be a lot more chill regarding unusual things as he goes along.
I also came up with this AU because I don't want Nimona to be sad and alone a hundred years later because she outlived Ballister. As long as he fulfills his duty as Emissary of Death, Ballister is free to spend the rest of his time with Nimona.
Other mini-head canons:
Being an Emissary of Death gives Ballister noticeable white streaks in his hair. (Think the pink streak in Nimona's hair when she pretended to be Ballister but make it white and a lot more widespread.
As an Emissary of Death, Ballister ironically can't die. He certainly can't be killed or, at least, he "dies" but he doesn't stay dead. If his body takes too much damage, he disappears in a flash of magenta fire. (That's the color of the flame associated with Death in the climax of Puss in Boot: The Last Wish). And then he'll just pop up again later somewhere good as new. Nimona was ecstatic when she first learned about this (after being devastated because she thought her Boss had "died").

There's conversation in SWAK idk if I will use but it does create fun AU to play with so let me jump this au train unless someone else had this idea before?
I present you
The Greek Gods Emissaries.
After a prophecy delivered by Apollo, the choice fell on Poseidon and Aphrodite to pick the four vessel warriors and gifting them to four other gods, who bestowed them with gifts and placed among the mortal kind to protect them against the upcoming turmoil. Other members of Pantheon weighted in with their skills to perfect the vessels.
Leo - serving under the goddess Athena.
Raph - serving under the god Ares.
Donnie - serving under the god Hephaestus
Mikey - serving the god Dionysus.
April the human chosen by Persephone to show Underwold's unity with the Olympians.
What terrible horrors will they have to face?
Let me know if anyone wants any scenarios in this au lololol

Wrote something for my nindroid Jay au.
At first, it is beautiful, with golden lightning shimmering off of Jay's body. But then the lightning gets too close, striking near the team, and as much as it pains them, they have to retreat. The lightning grows more erratic and the groan of metal and screams can be heard. The Overlord is screaming and the sound of lightning crackling is overwhelming, a cacophony of noise that is soon joined by Jay, who cries out in pain. It is too much for the ninja to bear, tears heavy in their eyes as they can do nothing but watch.
Then suddenly, it all stops.
Jay plummets to the ground, golden weapons falling with him. The clatter of metal is all the ninja hear, and they bolt towards their friend.
He doesn't look alive. His hair is burnt from the heat and his face looks like it was shredded. Wires and exposed metal cover a majority of his body. Parts of him are broken and melted over eachother and Cole almost gags at the sight. The golden weapons lie near him, dull. The one closest to him, because of course it would be, is his nunchucks. Nearly everyone is sobbing or holding back tears, and the silence is heavy and oppressive.
It is soon broken by Nya.
"What are we going to tell his parents?"

Uhhhhh more background
- Cats used to live in a loose community. The individual cats hunted for themselves and their families, but retained a peaceful energy and casual interactions between them all.
- Like all wild animals, cats knew about the sheer magical power of what the sky holds. They respect the sun, moon and stars, and revere beings they call the Sky Dwellers - spirits of dead animals who live in the afterlife in the sky. The more time a spirit spends in the sky, the more the magic around them affects their appearance, making them more abstract looking as they basically become cosmic entities.
- Caleb and Philip were raised on tales of how violent and sinister wild cats were, and that they went against everything “civil” animals and their human providers stood for.
- One day, they both met a wild molly cat named Kestrel, who led them into the forest. While Caleb grew used to life in the wild and ended up having kits with Kestrel, Philip felt betrayed and things escalated to him killing his brother with his own claws.
- Following tales overhead & inquired from wild cats (and meddling with said cats in suspicious ways) Philip found his way to Orion the Emissary, who taught him how to steal all the magic from individual Sky Dwellers in order to further his own life - this led to him gaining nine lives in total, which meant that he would age nine times slower and have to be killed nine times to truly die. He also learned how to trap his brother’s soul in an endless state of reincarnation.
- Donning the name of Dawnstar, he began preaching to the wild cats that their “uncivilized” way of living displeased the Sky Dwellers, who he claimed to be able to speak to; which was a lie, as although the Dwellers have some perception and influence, they can’t directly interact with the living outside of vague signs.
- Slowly but surely, Dawnstar came to power and formed the wild cats into the 4 different Colonies. This is also when he gained his full title, General Dawnstar.

Viridian Forest is home to many secrets. It has been the subject of many studies, but no one can ever seem to get conclusive results.
The locals describe the results as "weird."
But recently, there have been more sightings of said "weird."
A reporter went in last week, and found himself lost. He notes in his account that he was practically walking in circles, when he was approached by a young trainer.
"Can I help you?" They said.
The reporter explained, and the child giggled.
"Oh don't worry, here, I know the path!"
And the child took the reporter's hand, and began walking.
Along the way, they didn't talk about much. The reporter asked many questions, but the child didn't seem to have many answers.
"Do you live in Viridian City?"
"No."
"Do you live in one of the other towns?"
"No."
"Where are your pokemon?"
"In that tree over there."
It was at this point that the reporter noticed a Pikachu watching from the branches.
"What is your name?"
The child didn't respond - but they did smile.
The reporter was delivered to the forest's entrance, and the child walked back in.
The locals say that this is not an uncommon occurrence - recently, a small child in a straw hat with a Pikachu has been helping lost travelers. But they never say anything about themself.
Champion Red - who also once inquired about the mysterious child - refused comment on the story when it ran.
But he does come to visit Viridian Forest relatively often.

I see your "Eternatus is a Shed Skin of Giratina" and raise you "ALL of Giratina's shed skins are still Sapient". Every time Giratina sheds (which is about 50 years or so), they have to destroy their shed skin as quickly as possible or they'll try to kill them. Also, any person who ends up inside the shed skin undergoes Body Horror where they fuse with it. (Eternatus just got away in time.)
just eat it. it's called recycling.
no though the idea of a insect/snake deity who sheds its skin routinely and the shed also has residual divinity and this is just like, a Known Event in the world's mythology, is a VERY cool idea to me. either as a recurring historical thing of "every time our god sheds, some Major Shit is gonna go down," or as a "we can schedule it into our calendars and it's one of our biggest festivals and our priests wear godskin garments made from it" yanno. do you know.

Legend has really good memory, kinda. He catalogs information, like codes, locations, items, ect, into like filing cabinets in his brain, but he can not tell you if he ate or not.
Contrary Twilight can't remember shit. Has gone the wrong way when leaving Ordon Springs, forgets to pack items, that kinda thing. Midna did all the remembering for him, Legend remembers stuff for him now.
