Ruby - Gleaming Gem of the Ball

Art of my OC, Ruby Emina, standing in a ballroom while dressed in a beautiful flower-based ballroom gown.

Ruby is a noblewoman and character of high class, so sometimes she has to present herself in such a way. The glittering sequins were a nightmare to draw and a little showy in contrast to Ruby's modest personality, but it gives the gown some much needed roundness.

The ballroom itself is something I don't normally go for in backgrounds as I have typically drawn more neatly angled bgs but felt it was worth tackling at least once, even if it's a rather simple looking one.

Ruby's natural charm and beauty are plain for everyone to see. She wears both a hibiscus flower and amaryllis flower to show her strength and purity.

Amadàn

[part of my project Tales of Eminae]

The Amadán are pixies that are particularly fond of pretty flowers and the like. They collect petals, leaves and even berries which they use to craft a coat for themselves. 

They typically settle themselves between bushes and flowers that look similar to what they're wearing, thus being perfectly camouflaged. They do not like to be disturbed though, something many an elf has found out the hard way. These generally tranquil creatures cause immediate paralysis the moment they are touched. Elven children that go out to play are often reminded by their parents to be careful when picking flowers, for they might mistake an Amadán for a flower, which could cause them a trip to the nearest healer. 

"Never touch an Amadán, that's common knowledge." 

An Amadan's paralysis is rarely fatal, though occasionally when the pixie is really angry, it will attack with full force. In these cases the victim does not have a very great chance of survival.

They feed off aphids and other small insects that lurk around the bushes they live in.  

They are most commonly found in the South-East of Eminae.

They have been classified as Ouphe (creatures that act on instinct, and can understand simple commands at most)

He grows REALLY BIG ones in the garden.” She moved her arms to emphasize the size. “These ones are smaller than the ones he gives to Mama. Papa likes to give her bouquets, and then she looks like a rose because her face goes all red. It's funny.” She tried to think of something else to add. “Um...Ah! Papa also says you should be really careful with roses because they have thorns. But these ones don't...I think he did something to them. Anyway, roses are my favorite flower and they also make really pretty hair assess...access...ary...accessories!” “That's lovely,” Emina said, dismissing Seven to her seat. “Next up is...Miyu.”
