I was reading the script available online for the pilot--and the Carmy that ends up on the show is a much gentler person, so much so that him actually being mean and destructive is a big enough deviation from his actual character that it is the turn of episode 7, and whoever is responsible for that I love more than the stars themselves.

i used that filter on tiktok, the one that makes you look old. i saw my dads mum staring back at me, smile and all. i showed it to the people who knew her, i don’t think they thought aging was the most wonderful thing in the world. i do, if i could be half the nana that she was to me i could make anyone feel loved. when i look in the mirror i see old photos of my mum staring back at me, i know sometimes she sees herself staring back when she really looks at me. she makes remarks about how we’ve done the same things at the same ages. it’s maybe why were so close because she was me long ago. i wonder if that’s why she reminds me to be cautious with my heart. i wonder sometimes if my ancestors that stare back in the mirror had the same fears and dreams as me. we’re they queer and hiding it? or did they love their ability love like that too? maybe it was both. i think they might have, and sometimes i wonder if they’re proud that i might accomplish them for myself, and them.

i guess what i mean is that i am not the first me and i will not be the last one. remnants of who i am are spread through my family tree like fair lights. and that is all the more comforting.
