After watching Barbie: Fairytopia, I finally finished all the classic Barbie Movies. And from this, I found that Elina & Fairytopia is basically G-Rated Feyre & ACOTAR. In this essay I will…

Here We Go. Reasons why Elina is G-rated Feyre or basically Feyre is Elina since Elina came first:

1) Both are considered “outsiders” of the fae/fairies. The fae consider themselves superior.

2) Cassian is Bibble

3) (Spoilers) Both eventually gain the powers of the higher power fae/fairies

4) The magical lands are separated in regions with each their own leader

5) (Spoilers) Both Elina and Feyre become leaders of their own regions (Fairy Town/Night Court)

6) Both Laverna and Amarantha (try) to take over by holding the leaders hostage.

7) The High Lords give me the same vibes as the Inner Circle. Or even the High Lords. Mainly because of this iconic quote:

Ruby -“Is that supposed to be me? Because I’m much taller than the other guardians.”

Topaz-“It’s true, he is!”

Laverna-“Fine. As I was saying…”

Ruby- “Now I just look like a giraffe.”

Azura: Fairytopia’s Gay Aunt

Watching Azura scenes back to back… fully different character design they even changed her eye colour and made her skin like 10 shades more tan (part of this is changed animation style but still)

I was rewatching the Fairytopia scenes with Azura so I have a renewed appreciation for her. She is the cool gay aunt of fairytopia.

Like haircut aside she goes out of her way to help people she perceives as “outcasts”… and like… I heard a headcannon once that her whole “friends you haven’t met yet” and table that is always set is so that kids who are disowned by their families will have a place to go. I can’t get that out of my head, because that is so absolutely something Azura would do.

A middle aged woman living in a cottage and she has this random table set for people she hasn’t met and lets the protagonist who is an outcast from society in because “she has the rainbow in her eye”

… I don’t care whether or not that’s what was intended, it fits.

Examples of Azura being the GOAT

1. Before the events of the story Dahlia betrays Laverna and she tries to join forces with the guardians who rejects her and don’t believe she’s capable of change.

- Azura goes out of her way to support Dahlia even visiting her often enough. Dahlia clearly thinks very highly of Azura.

2. Random disabled fairy with rainbow in eye shows up on her doorstep asking for help

- She brings out like a special floating flower to accommodate her

- Offers her food and drink and a place to sleep without even hearing the full story

- Trusts this stranger with one of her most important possessions because she thinks she has potential to do good (just puts her whole faith in her)

3. Is kidnapped and brought to Laverna

- Is an icon the entire time. This woman is at her finest under pressure.

4. Is asked to pick an apprentice (who will one day become a guardian in her place)

- Picks the disabled (queer?) country bumpkin (who did save the country I will say)

- Is clearly leading this project, she gives all the pre training instructions

- Put Elina and Sunburst in their places, clearly favoritism is not an obstacle keeping her from tough love

5. Elina tells everyone that Laverna has returned

- She takes the threat seriously and doesn’t laugh or mock Elina for it unlike Tourmaline (hello sir?!) even when evidence point to the contrary she takes preventive measures

6. She’s friends with the toothfairy?!

7. Calls Elina ‘my dear’ and asks her to visit for tea

- This one is just evidence that she is a gay aunt.

The Enchantress in Barbie Fairytopia is literally useless istg

Like, during the first movie she's out of commission because Laverna used her love for her against her. Kind of a dumb mistake tbh, like, she just drank whatever she gave her, but at least I get that she genuinely wanted to believe she could reconcile with her sister, and I can't really find it in myself to fault her too much for that

During the second movie I feel like it was mostly Elina being dumb for not alerting anyone and dealing with it herself, so like, the Enchantress didn't know about the situation (still weird that Azura seemed to know about it, actually), and even if she did, by the point she would've arrived it probably would have been too late

But during the third movie she's literally RIGHT THERE next to Laverna and she just does NOTHING, like, she immediately caves to her demands as if she doesn't know that Laverna just straight up doesn't hold up her end of deals. Literally the same sort of hostage situation happened in Mermaidia with Max (who was operating under Laverna's orders) and it ended the exact same way, like??? She just doesn't seem bothered whatsoever at any point, and I feel like maybe you're supposed to read it as her trusting Elina and the other apprentices or whatever but... Like, fucking c'mon, dude! The sensible thing would've been to blast her and be done with it until she returns again in a week!!

Also, another thing that really annoyed me was that Elina just fucking leaves during the flance and there are no consequences, like??? Is that part even necessary at all??? And why didn't the Enchantress just step in to replace either Sunburst after taking out Laverna, or replace Elina when she went looking for Sunburst??? Literally the whole ceremony was such a mess, I truly feel that it should've failed and I don't understand why I didn't (other than this being a kids movie that needs a happy ending, which is a bullshit reason imo)

I feel like maybe the Enchantress is literally just?? Only capable of enchanting items (like the necklaces) which makes her effectively useless in combat and on the field. If that's the case I guess it wouldn't have made a difference whether or not she gave herself up, but like... Still, weird

OST barbie yg the best emang dari series yg ini. suka banget karena mereka bersahabat ditambah mereka florist dan suka musik, terus visualnya penuh warna kesukaanku. kayak kesukaanku yg dikombinasiin jadi satu. dari semua villain aku ngerasa bude yg disini yg bener-bener egoisnya di ambang ketinggian. liat persahabatan alexa sama liana tuh inget temenku sendiri yg udah 7 tahun deket, tapi semenjak kuliah emang udah sering sibuk sendiri terus agak punya perasaan yg tidak mengenakan satu sama lain (padahal bntr lagi pisah jauh setelah nanti kurleb 8-9tahunan bareng itu). jadi ngerasa tp segimananya beda pendapat atau saling menyakiti perasaan pasti tetep balik ke dia juga wkwkwk. jadi kayaknya ini bakal jadi film yg hard to rewatch tapi untuk ostnya bakal diputer on repeat. terus dapet pelajaran emang kita gaboleh bosen jadi orang baik. cowoknya tapi tengil bgt yg disini wkwkwkk. review temenku:

lia bener-bener ya, buat anak orang mimpi menjadi mermaid. sumpah ini asik banget filmnya terus stylenya udah modern gitu juga. latarnya bukan lagi kerajaan tp yah, dunia kita biasa (dia ambil di negara Australia). storylinenya simpel sih, petualangan lia dkk mencari syarat untuk mengalahkan eris (yg kayaknya masih keluarga mereka juga). i love si lumba-lumba btw lucu banget sparkly. yah, endingnya bagus tp karena ada part 2 nya sudah pasti si eris belum dikalahkan sepenuhnya. LAGUNYA OMG I LOVE IT, SHE'S THE QUEEN OF THE WAA A A AAVEE.
