how do i explain this. something i enjoy less about the vibes of this season is the doctor's position in it. because, at least to me, in s1-4, any attempt to position the doctor as the center of the universe, as this godlike figure who got to save and decide on everything, felt almost cruelly ironic. like a possibility dangled in front of him and then used to slap him in the face when he actually started to believe his own hype. (like. first of all, the basis of him from day one being that he did make the most powerful decision of all time and ended the time war and it fucked him up forever after, he can never escape the consequences of it, and it also didn't fucking work, the daleks came back. and then that just. keeps happening to him. can't save rose after remaking himself for her. can't save the master in s3, the master'd rather die. saves all of earth from the daleks yet again... can't save donna. waters of mars, obviously.) "the oncoming storm" less as an powerful moniker to fear and more as a curse he can't escape being.

it's not that the doctor wasn't the hero of the story before, i guess, it's that any minute he really, honestly started to believe he was the hero of the story, that he could protect everyone and send the bad guys cowering back into space purely on the fact that he was the doctor, it went. poorly. for everyone involved.

and perhaps this season is winding up to the biggest faceslap of all time, i wouldn't know, haven't finished it, but it really just feels like. the doctor is kind of a god now. and everyone else gets to orbit him.

Sending a big cosy hug from a socially distant place...

...to all 9-1-1 fandom friends who found episode 5x12 hard to watch because of life that's happened to you before. Hard to watch, makes us cry, all of that for sure yes. But it also helps us to heal and see new angles.

If you (or someone you support) are currently going through PPD and / or suicidal thoughts then this episode was probably too hard to consider or complete. I get that. (dw you missed little in terms of plot about other characters outside of the madney plot, and even there I'm sure you can guess. JLH is back off mat leave and will return with family to LA.)

Time will help, honest. Please ask for support while it's hard and remember it's okay to need support for a long time afterwards too. We all need support. Years from now YOU will support another person, so (as a whole society) we're good. Support is good 💕

I'm glad Maddie was shown to enter a great system once she asked for support. And I've loved the pieces to camera the actor JLH made as promos, interviews and at the end credits. She has been really careful and gentle about this plotline.

here’s a list of criminal minds episodes to rewatch with commentary by me

they’re top tier i promise

1x06 LDSK - reid and morgan’s relationship is what keeps me going everyday.

1x09 derailed - just a good episode. i like when reid talks down unsubs makes me feel things

1x14 ride the lightning - i cried.

1x22, 2x01 fisher king - so much happened that i cant even put it into words but they’re great episodes

2x11 sex, birth, death - can you tell i like reid centric episodes?

2x15 revelations - angst

3x05 seven seconds - just another suspenseful episode. it’s sad, but not sad in that way that you generally think.

3x16 elephants memory - :(

3x20, 4x01 lo-fi and mayhem - i think my heart stopped and my anxiety went 📈📈📈📈

4x03 minimal loss - just amazing. 10/10. emily and reid 👌🏼

4x22 the big wheel - i cried again. also alex oloughlin.

4x24 amplification - more crying. hits different watching with all this coronavirus stuff.

5x09 100 - well fuck. that’s all i have to say.

5x12 the uncanny valley - another sad one. you genuinely feel bad for the unsub. some badass reid yeet.

5x16 mosley lane - if you don’t cry you don’t have a heart so fuck you

5x22-6x01 - not particularly because they’re good but because i really like reid’s hair

6x12 corazon - more reid centric, but overall just a very interesting episode.

6x16 coda - another really good episode. one of my favorites. reid with kids is beautiful. we were robbed.

6x18 lauren - i fucking hate criminal minds.

7x01 it takes a village - this is calm and it’s doctor. iconic.

7x02 proof - i love passive aggressive reid. he’s my favorite.

7x11 true genius - more emily and reid bonding. my favorite friendship.

7x23, 7x24 hit and run - more anxiety.

8x12 zugzwang - fuck this show. diane turner is hot tho.

8x24 the replicator - how do none of them get hurt in the helicopter crash? i am still confusion.

9x05 route 66 - reid looks pretty

9x23, 9x24 angels and demons - even more anxiety. part of me died.

10x18 rock creek park - reid speaks russian in it and i think that’s pretty cool

10x21 mr scratch - wild episode. think i stopped breathing at one point because everyone died. not a spoiler dw.

11x11 entropy - one of, if not, my favorite episodes. cat adams can run me over with a truck.

11x18 a beautiful disaster - more fucking anxiety and tears.

11x22 the storm - yeet

12x13 spencer - fuck any episode titled with bau members’ names.

12x22 red light - oh god what can i say except is it fucking HOT in here or what

13x01 wheels up - i love emily :(

13x15 annihilator - reid being a loyal friend to emily we fuckin love to see it. fuck linda barnes she can choke.

13x16 last gasp - we stan one team and one team only.

13x22 believer - minimal loss.

14x01 300 - much love for reid and garcia.

14x05 the tall man - idk just a cool episode. kind of jj centric.

14x07 twenty seven - the way reid does cpr is really funny

15x04 saturday - WHY DIDNT WE GET MORE OF THESE EPISODES THEYRE SO CUTE

15x06 date night - max and cat can both shoot me in the face and i’d thank them.

Which are your personal favourite DW eras and episodes, if Clara era turned you off a bit (a shame, I think S10 really did improve)?

I think anything from Donna to Amy/Rory was done well (series five was some of the best writing for a TV serial ever), and also think Martha was a very underrated series. Although, series seven kind of started tanking, I think the Amy and Rory arc was closed well, if not for a few weak writing moments.

If I had to give it a go, here is a… not so brief list of my favorites from the seasons that I actually cared about (because… I love all of it, how could I not)

90% of the Christmas episodes; the 50th, etc

(Especially Time of the Doctor. If you compiled my tears at TOTD and TATM, you would have … maybe not an ocean, but at least a small Pond)

Season 8… I liked some, not notable enough that I could name. Like, Danny died, that was sad I guess.

I guess, for me, it isn’t specifically what episodes so far as what arc. If the episode contributes to the overarcing plot that they’re delivering, I find myself more invested than not. The whole standalone episode thing is nice, but it just isn’t what I watch the program for… and there are other shows that will give me what I want, now. So it’s really hard to trust again!

I quit after a few episodes into series ten, but I’m tempted to get a nice ol’ bottle of wine and go back to it sometime. The stars just haven’t aligned yet - I have so much else to watch! So little time. :)

10 + DONNA 4x00 - kylie minogue on the space titanic n everyone dies 4x01 - stupid but iconic ep w weight loss aliens 4x02 - pompeii explodes in 79ad much drama 4x06 - aliens use the doctors dna to make him a daughter and donna n martha r both there rad 4x07 - agatha christie and a murder mystery and an alien wasp 4x08-09 - iconic eps in a space library bit creepy but good 4x10 - midnight is an absolutley iconic bit creepy ep 4x11 - rose n donna work together to escape a parallel universe heck ye 4x12-13 - rose n donna n martha n jack n sarah jane come together against to daleks to save earth heck ye also tragic iconic donna exit

10 2009 serial thing ep 03 - waters of mars im p sure is iconic but i don’t really remember it

11 + AMY 5x01- i have a soft spot for this it was my first proper dw ep aw aliens invade hospital and the doctor doesn’t have his tardis or screwdriver so it’s just him running around a lot 5x02 - again soft spot whales driving spaceship britain or something but cute adventure 5x04-05 - the weeping angels get more development p cool 5x07 - THIS IS THE ONE JACOB MEANT where they’re trapped in the tardis and a dream and stuff i remember this being good 5x11 - james corden and matt smith have banter for 40 mins 5x12-13 MY FAVE DOUBLE EP stonehenge and the tardis exploding and timeloops n stuff wow love it 6x00 - literally the only good xmas ep dw has its so pure inspired by scrooge n that wow love it 6x04 - iconic ep where the tardis is a woman bit confusing n weird tho 6x10 - good ep for amy n rory in space quarantine 6x11 - good ep for amy n the doctor, minotaurs n david walliams 6x12 - james corden and matt smith have more bants this time theres cybermen 7x01 - jenna is an absolute babe and defeats the daleks 7x05 - iconic ep where the weeping angels take amy n rory to their exit

11 + CLARA 7x00 - another bad xmas ep but clara is in victorian london so 7x12 - abandoned space fairground w cybermen idk bit weird but i remember enjoying 7x13 - iconic ep where clara throws herself into the doctors timeline which leads into iconic 50th anniversary ep

12 + CLARA 8x03 - robin hood defeats aliens 8x06 - good ep for the doctor n clara but literally don’t remember the plot hes the school caretaker or smth 8x07 - this is the one where the moon is an egg 8x08 - the orient express in space w a killer mummy i remember this being intense 9x05 - masie williams saves her viking village from aliens 9x06 - literally don’t remember the plot but masie williams is immortal and is now named Me 9x11 - bit tedious at start but blew my mind at end good use of timeloops but sadly no clara 9x12 - i just remember crying i love clara 9x00 - idk what happens confusing xmas special but i love river song so
