I'm here to spread my Ninjago neurodiversity headcanons
because this fandom does not have enough of it and I felt like it. Also because i missed neurodiversity week by one day.
uhh yeah. I wanted to have an art too but I didn't expect posting this so soon-
Anyways.
Zaneeee the classic yay.
He's definitely neurodivergent.
I don't think he'd identify as anything in particular, but he identifies as neurodivergent cuz he's a nindroid and because of that doesn't fit in or think like neurotypicals.
He's a bit of an outlier because of that tho, even in neurodiverse places.
He's decently public because he's too innocent to see how anything could go bad just because he shared it. Poor Zane, bless him :,) he definitely ended up being harassed at least once.
Cole because everybody overlooks him and I'm disappointed /hj
Okay this man is autistic. Tell me otherwise. Tell me otherwise right now. Like have you seen him.
He's very closed off about being autistic. I feel like Lou was definitely not very accommodating of it and encouraged him to mask n stuff, (which btw can lead to a huge number of anxiety and self worth issues later down the line, so do not force people to mask).
There's a lot of stigma associated with autistic people that I feel like Cole definitely wouldn't enjoy, so he keeps it pretty tight under wraps and tries to mask when he can.
He especially doesn't like telling people he knows because he doesn't want a close friend to potentially start treating him like an infant or helpless, or assume he has no emotions or starting to distance themselves from him.
He hid it from the Ninja for the first few seasons. Around after S4-5 when he and Jay had become close again he decided to tell him. I feel like he was jealous or impressed by how open Jay is in comparison (we'll get to him in a moment) and how accepting the others were. Jay's reaction is easily summed up as *HAPPY NEURODIVERGENT SOLIDARITY SCREAMING* but also "I feel stupid for not connecting the dots" and then they went from bffs to... also bffs. But now they get to make adhd and autism jokes together.
Jay helped him be more comfortable and feel more confident in himself and he finally told the other Ninja after DotD because he ended up experiencing several massive sensory overloads at some point, since being autistic made it so that the issues you'd have from finally being able to touch things after a year or two would've been amplified ten fold, so he kinda had to tell them because it stuck around for several weeks.
He still isn't very public about it towards strangers, but he's getting better about feeling comfortable with it himself and not, yknow, experiencing social anxiety 24/7 around his friends.
He's definitely on like the mild-mid end of the spectrum. He doesn't need too many accommodations, but he does experience sensory issues and might need alternative explanations for some things.
He's usually pretty closed off when he first gets to know somebody, but overtime when he does get to know them and becomes comfortable with them he gets pretty social and sarcastic with them, which doesn't always go well since he can't tell when someone gets legitimately hurt or offended or when it's just part of the joke, so being more public about it with his friends has made it so they can communicate better with that type of stuff :D
...You may notice that this one is substantially longer than the rest and the reason for that is because I'm autistic so I feel more confident about writing about an autistic character. And also because autistic Cole makes me feel represented because way too many autistic characters are either robots (which is fine, but one of my symptoms is I have difficult to relate to those types of characters) or very stereotypical. So.
I try to keep the others shorter because I don't trust myself as much with those LOL.
Also he may be colorblind, but he's not sure.
Uhh Jay
Yeah
He has adhd, probably a comorbidity too like OCD or smthn. He's in the very hyperactive group, and he's pretty public about it because he feels comfortable with who he is and doesn't really care if some idiot takes issue with it (or well, pretends like he doesn't care, except he actually does)
And ye, that's uh, about all I have to say because I'm super hungry and tired sooo

Yknow I’m finishing the last 2 episodes of HoT tonight & am prepared to either go straight into the Oni Trilogy afterwards but there’s something about Episode 8 that I wanted to note!
(( Long rambles abound ))
I think I’ve heard a few people describe Kai’s behavior as very much jumping to conclusions when he faces off against Ray with knowledge of his parents’ alleged betrayals — and I do 100% agree Kai tends to be brash. Versus Nya’s behavior, in holding Kai back to get him to listen to their father.
But I think from the perspective of both Kai, it kinda makes sense why!
Like for Nya, since she likely wasn’t old enough at the time to directly know their parents, it’s understandable she’d want to her out her father because this is the first time she’s honestly seen or heard from him.
On the other hand, Kai’s personally grown up with both parents while he’s at an age to be conscious of his need for them & attachment as a young child who misses them. There’s a LOT of trauma in realizing your parents weren’t gone the whole time, that they were out there and just left you behind to do something else — something that wasn’t what happened but very much so was skewed to appear so. So likely the thought going through his mind would be ‘You weren’t there for us when we needed in order to do things for the people actively harming us?’ I thought that might be interesting to note.
We got a super nifty fight scene out of that so I’ll add that to my collection of cool Kai moments lololol.
Other HoT ending notes:
- The fusion dragon was absolutely EPIC! And a boiling sea that works with a master of fire & master of water???! That’s such a neat concept!!! These things make me wished that the season could’ve been implemented better bc HoT had such huge potential (I prob won’t criticize anything tho cause I feel other people wrote a lot over the flaws more eloquently!).
- Ray and Maya were pretty great for the short time they were there, but I have really mixed feelings on bringing them back. It was such a huge part of the beginnings for awhile — the siblings starting off alone in the Pilots, Chen holding the backstories of Kai’s parents over himself, then finally both siblings grieving in DotD with a beautiful scenes & the foreshadowing of their parents’ backstories when Kai wonders if they’ll ever figure out what happened. All of that was just implemented so well!
I heard alternate ideas proposed from those who thought the set up for an arc where Ray & Maya were actually evil would give a lot to explore. That’d definitely be interesting for sure!
But of my own personal preferences, I really liked them being on the good side but the issue stemming from a distortion of perspective obscuring the actual events & intention. And just overall the idea of them being dead but the story being years later, where Kai & Nya get to the bottom of things and unwrap what actually happened. Now that they’re back, and it might be hard for the show to fit them into the plot when they’re established as extremely important.
In a sense, I kind of worry about getting that same feeling for Lord/Sensei Garmadon the next season too. I already know what happens so I’m just bracing myself for it >~<.
Lastly, for the next season:
I can’t wait to finally get to watch the things I’m curious about the most!
In a jumbled list — I really want to see the implementation of Pixal as the new Samurai X, Skylor’s reappearance & role (& just more into how her powers work if she uses them!), the arc with Sensei Wu developing with the ninja, Nya-Lloyd dynamic, Karloff returning (omg - I LOVE them bringing back other elemental masters!!), and the Mr. E rivalry with Zane (the Echo Zane theories I’ve read are so exciting!!!).
I’m a bit scared though because the Kai character assassinations begin along with this marking the point of many people not being able to see Garmadon the same again :(. So I hope the good skill of the writers makes up for that bc I know this show does a lot with all of the elements surrounding it!
Aaaaaaa I have so many thoughts my brain won’t let me sleep 😭

Prompt: Locked up and left behind
Fandom: Ninjago
Character: Cole
Trigger Warnings: mentioned character death
“What are you even fighting for? Your friends have abandoned you!”
He faltered,  gasping as he was flung back by the force of Yang’s blade.
“Your master has abandoned you. You are all alone!”
“No!” He lunged, katana held tight in his hand. Yang forced him back, his years of experience shining through. Yang knocked the katana right from his hand, and it slid off the roof pitifully.
“Can’t go on… alone…” he whispered as he fell against a wall, Yang towering over him.
“Yes, yield! Soon I will be gone, but you will remain forever departed, destined to haunt this temple forever, as the new master of the house!” Yang cackled, victorious.
Cole looked down, watching with horror as his form flickered. “I’m… fading away…”
“Just one more lonely ghost, not a friend in the world!”
He had to keep fighting. Even though his friends had forgotten him. Even though he was so, so outmatched. He had to keep trying.
He hit Yang hard, summoning every ounce of strength he had in him. He blocked with the yin blade, but his punch was so strong that it just… shattered. Suddenly, somehow, all of Yang’s students turned back to regular. His spell on them had been broken.
“The rift! If you hurry, you can be free of this place forever!” he yelled, pointing upwards and praying that the students wouldn’t be so out of it that they couldn’t use airjitzu.
Thankfully, they all almost instantly went up, airjitzuing through the rift and landing somewhere he couldn’t see. All that mattered was that they’d all made it through.
“My… my students! Leaving me! I’ve failed…” Yang groaned, hardly even bothering to get up from when Cole had punched him.
“Yeah, you did.” Cole said, standing on the perch above him and glaring at him with the most hatred he’d ever felt for anybody.
“I always fail.”
“Yeah, you — wait, what?”
Yang explained how he’d only ever wanted immortality because he didn’t want to be forgotten. Cole almost wanted to laugh. He told Yang that, now especially, he would definitely never be forgotten. He’d invented airjitzu, for FSM sake, that was a huge feat!
“Now come on, there’s still time to go through. Both of us.” Cole said, taking Yang’s hand and pulling them both into an airjitzu bubble, rising rapidly towards the rift. Human again, he was going to be human again. He’d never even considered that he was really, truly going to be able to feel again. And besides that, he’d managed to bring out the good in a man who’d been corrupted by power for years.
“No, I’m afraid that’s impossible. The curse of the temple requires that at least one ghost remain behind as master of the house.” Yang said, and the resistance on the airjitzu bubble increased until it was almost unbearable.
“One of us has to stay behind?” Cole asked, then gasped as he felt Yang grabbing at him. “Hey! What are you doing?”
“See you on the other side, Cole.” Yang laughed, shoving him hard.
The world passed by in a blur. He screamed as he fell, trying to find the purchase to do something, anything!
At least he didn’t have the concentration to solidify himself. Falling until he was on the first floor of the temple, he finally hit the ground. He grunted, not finding the motivation within himself to get up. Yang had tricked him, he’d — he’d tricked him!
Something shifted. The temple itself groaned, and Cole couldn’t help but shiver. Out of nowhere, he felt a sort of tightness in his skin, like any moment it was going to break and he was going to burst out of it. He remembered feeling the same way back when he’d been a dancer and had to perform in front of people.
Yang had made it through.
He ran outside the temple, squeezing his eyes closed as a huge flash of light overpowered the night. When it finally faded, the rift was gone.
He’d missed his chance.
A weight settled itself in his stomach, and every inch of his skin could have been on fire. He ran for the edge of the island, coming to a stop a few feet from the edge. He took a few steps closer so he could peer over it.
His whole body flew backwards just as his foot tried to edge over the very edge of the island. He groaned, sitting up and clutching his head. What the hell?
Carefully, he approached it again, holding out his hand. This time, he was thrown even further back, and a horrible jolt coursed through his veins like electricity.
He got up slower this time, trying to regain his composure. Realization dawned upon him.
Bound to this place, he was bound here, he couldn’t leave, he’d never be able to leave!
He slid right back to the ground, unable to keep himself up. This wasn’t happening, it couldn’t be happening, ghosts weren’t real, ghosts weren’t real, ghosts weren’t real.
Letting out a choked sob, Cole covered his face, crying into his hands. As always, there were no tears (and there never would be again).
He couldn’t believe he’d been foolish enough to hope. Worse, he couldn’t believe he’d been foolish enough to trust Yang. He was so stupid.
Being a ghost, he found that he was never really at a comfortable temperature. He was always just a little bit cold. Now, though, hitting him like cold metal chains wrapping around his entire being, he was practically freezing.
When he was human, he’d always hated crying. It made him uncomfortable, like he couldn’t control his emotions. Now especially, he wished more than anything he could cry again.
He missed the feeling of tears on his cheeks as he would just sob and sob until he fell asleep. He didn’t cry much since… his mom’s passing.
And that was another thing. He would never see her again. He was never going to get to where she was, because Yang had trapped him here in. Every other ghost had gotten away, too. All but him. He was all alone.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, bringing his knees to his chest. He was sorry for letting down his friends. He was sorry for leaving his dad alone. He was sorry he hadn’t been there when his mom had died. He was sorry that he was such a fucking idiot.
He sat there, a pathetic, lonely ghost in the dirt outside a temple that had been uninhabited for years, until the sun began to rise. The colors were muted, but he had a feeling that, had he been looking through human eyes, it would have been beautiful.
He let out a frustrated scream. It shouldn’t have been beautiful. How could something be so magnificent after something so terrible had occurred? The universe was mocking him. It thought it was funny, watching him be forgotten, watching him be forever bound here, watching him lose everything.
He dug his fingers into the grass, gripping at the dirt underneath. His hands hurt from the force of which he did so, but he didn’t relent.
He had never been angrier. He had been so willing to forgive Yang for everything, and he had just—he’d just lied to him like that, that bastard! He’d taken everything from him!
The ground shook, slow at first, but quickly gaining violence. What the hell was this, some kind of floating-island-earthquake?
The ground underneath him spiked up, lifting him higher as a cliff formed underneath him. He could practically hear the island whispering to him just as he realized that the earth was obeying him, taking out his rage.
“You’re the king,” it whispered, just barely grazing his mind, and yet he still heard it clear as day. “And this is your kingdom.” A tiny, worthless little island with nothing but a weathering temple to call home until time itself came to an end, and a master who’d been forgotten by the only people he could call friends. What a fucking kingdom to have.
And what a pathetic king he was.

dotd thoughts: an alternate ending
This post is inspired by @camelotsheart who sent me a transcript of the s5 finale commentary that I saw the moment I woke up and choose angst. Anyway, let’s begin! (This will be about merthur so, uh, you were warned.)
so the transcript @camelotsheart gave me was the one with katie mcgrath and julian murphy about how katie would have ended the finale which goes like this:
[Arthur: All these years Merlin, and you never once sought any credit.
Merlin: That's not why I do it.]
K: Liar!
J: Well, he knows.
K: [laughs]What are you--
J:  We'll never sure about these things.
K: It's all the meaningful glances now after this DVD commentary that I'm just going--
J: I should say that Katie, just before we wrote this episode, insisted that it ended with a kiss between Arthur and Merlin.
K: That is not what I said. That's what you put into it. I had the most amazing ending.... My ending, which you didn't use, which I thought would have been amazing, is -- Arthur. Mortally wounded on the battlefield. Merlin comes up and cradles him in his arms. Merlin to Arthur: I have magic. Arthur takes his face in his hands: I know. I think I've always known.
They sent me this as a bit of evidence to confirm their theory that Arthur has known that Merlin loved him. Maybe not as much as Merlin truly loves but Arthur at some point in their time together connected the dots and figured out Merlin’s love for him with dotd being him realizing just how deep. They also mentioned how Arthur knew about Gwaine’s affections for Merlin and how he must have realized the reason why Gwaine never did anything about it in the end, right?
But it was 7am for me, and I saw that and started thinking of an alternate ending. I thought what if they did kiss, like Katie said, but the ending went differently and spiraled on from there. Under the cut will be my idea on and alternate ending of season 5.
Ok ok hear me out. What if after Merlin explains why he never sought credit they really did kiss.
It’s not the true love's kiss breaks the spell thing. It’s just Merlin telling Arthur “here are all my feelings for you this is how much I love you.” Arthur now has that confirmation of yes, Merlin really was in love with him, and this is how much, and he feels so overwhelmed and flattered maybe ashamed because Merlin deserves better and he’s just staring at Merlin like “you idiot why do you love me? Why am I in love with you?” So he kisses Merlin.
They don’t really speak about it afterwards until Morgana comes. She comes to finish the job. She comes to meet her doom face to face and end it all. Let’s say she does land a hit. She is able to get Merlin somewhere on his side. It’s a big wound and it’s bleeding out, but Merlin ignores it to return Morgana the favor (see it parallels Mordred and Arthur’s scene). Morgana dies quickly since he stabbed her in a more lethal area. Arthur says he brought peace at last, and they continue on. Arthur asks about his wound, and Merlin brushes it off.
“It’s a minor one, Arthur, not that big of a deal.” Course it’s a big deal when Merlin almost collapses. He tries healing spells, but the wound continues to bleed. He realizes that the sword Morgana used wasn’t a regular one, and now both of them are in deep shit. He tells Arthur because what's the point of lying anymore, and they quietly continue on their way. Merlin has wrapped his jacket around himself in hopes to slow down the bleeding.
The lake is right there. Merlin struggles to get Arthur down, and his wound protests, but Merlin has learned how to ignore the pain from his wounds. They fumble and stumble towards the lake until Merlin falls, tired. Arthur asks for Merlin to hold him. Arthur does his “all you’ve done” speech. He looks at Merlin who is so tired and so distraught staring back and just holding him as tight as the warlock can manage. His wound is still bleeding out.
It seems that he doesn’t care anymore. Merlin just looks at Arthur, and Arthur decided to do something foolish. Something that only someone who feels like they are leaving this world soon would do, so why not make the most of it. He takes one of Merlin’s hands and kisses it. He looks up to Merlin and tries to his best to smile, but he knows they are both hurting.
“I think...I think I’ve always loved you. I didn’t know it at first. I didn’t know that I could, but I do know I have always, always loved you, Merlin. Funny, that it’s only now that I realize I was also in love with you.”
Merlin sort of chuckles while Arthur smiles. He brushes his unkissed hand through Arthur’s hair, and they just lay there, tired and exhausted. They aren’t sad anymore as they wait for death to claim them. They are both at peace and feel a bit of happiness grow because they are together to the end.
And that what I think would have made the ending better and ripped out all the hearts 😘

Doctor Who is the only fandom I’m in where a bunch of people just independently agreed that continuity doesn’t matter and we’re going to ignore half of everything in the show.
(Pardon the language)
Tumblr media
I guess I’m normally a pretty vanilla fan: I accept canon as it’s given to me, and may analyze plot holes and character arcs, but am pretty satisfied with what I’m given. Satiated, so to speak.
But no. I fell hard for Doctor Who, the Ninth Doctor, and the Time War, and for what was written between the lines. Since I fell in love with a net and not a basket, I’m in love with the spaces in-between and react rather rudely to someone trying to shove squirming cats into something that’s clearly supposed to hold silver fish. No amount of Day of the Doctor is every going to unwrite End of Time for me. So...off to fanfiction for me. Unlike any of my other fandoms, I need to supplement what I’m given on the show since everything I loved was dangled just out of reach.
And goodness, just wait until I watch Timeless Child! All of the Mature Adults™ on the Doctor Who facebook pages I follow seemed aggrieved that the Timeless Child unwrites canon. They clearly didn’t have their emotions sent through the wringer by Day of the Doctor and its bare semblance of continuity. Since I like 12 so much, I’ve finally accepted DotD as happening in some sort of alternate universe and moved on (more or less) but I’ll never again make the mistake of thinking the showrunners care about emotional continuity or coherent plot lines. The disbelief has been artificially suspended, folks.
(Looking at you, every story involving a weeping angel other than Blink--and even then, they’ll just be able to move once the lights go out...and it was sure flickery to begin with)

OKAY SO THEORY TIME
(Disclaimer that I’m still a relatively new Who fan, I don’t know all that much about the Classic Era/comics/books/audiobooks/etc. so if there’s a potential clue in there that I’m missing, please go easy on me)
There are 4 different explanations I can see for Ruth!Doctor, which may overlap with one another, so more than one of them could possibly turn out to be true (or none of them i don’t know what I’m doing)
Theories under the cut:
1) Ruth!Doctor is a(nother) War Doctor in the main timeline
Lots of things about her point to this option. She is (or at least believes she is) from Thirteen’s past. She doesn’t know about the destruction of Gallifrey. She is more willing to cross lines than Thirteen is, indicating that she might be from a difficult time when harsh actions are more necessary. **Not that she really did anything wrong, she was acting in self-defense and begged Gatt not to shoot; I’m just saying it’s a bit darker than we usually see the Doctor go.**
With all this in mind, it seems like Ruth could potentially be another War Doctor, the predecessor of the version we know from DotD. It’s possible that some event in the war (possibly her reluctance to fight as a soldier) caused her to give herself the Chameleon Arch treatment and hide on earth (just as the Master did when he fled to Utopia). After the events of S12E5, Ruth could possibly go back into the Time War and end up regenerating into John Hurt. Like him, she was repressed so strongly by the Doctor that she forgot she existed.
Reasons I don’t really think this is the case (or want it to be): It feels like a huge retread. We’ve already seen the War Doctor and his storyline; we’ve already seen the current Doctor(s) wrestling with their guilt and coming to terms with their past. I think Ruth!Doctor deserves better than just a repeat of the same story. Also, it would have to retcon a lot of things, such as the time lock preventing anyone from getting in and out of the Time War (though this has already been broken countless times in canon), and Night of the Doctor, a mini-episode which shows Eight regenerating into the War Doctor.
Overall, I think this answer is *possible*, but I also think it’s unoriginal, repetitive, and too much of a retcon. It doesn’t say anything new or add a new dimension to the character. I’m hoping for something more inventive, like...
2) Ruth!Doctor is the War Doctor in an alternate timeline
Doctor Who has dealt with opposite/alternate timelines and realities quite a bit, though usually they’re anomalies that end up corrected by the end of the episode or arc (ex. Last of the Time Lords, The Big Bang). There are instances, though, where time is said to be in flux and not even the Doctor knows the outcome - for example, the Silurian-human conflict in Cold Blood, and recently the future Earth in Orphan 55. Furthermore, we know that at least one completely alternate reality exists - Pete’s World, from Season 2.
This theory is that, in an alternate timeline, Ruth!Doctor, not the John Hurt War Doctor, was the one who fought in the Time War. Possibly, due to some sort of cataclysmic event (maybe involving the Lone Cyberman, or whatever shocking truth the Master found out about Gallifrey) the realities have started to merge, and thus Ruth!Doctor meets Thirteen. The rest of the season could be about them uncovering this truth, and helping set the realities back to normal.
3) Ruth!Doctor is the Doctor of Pete’s World
I’ll admit that this one isn’t my own theory; I’ve seen other Tumblr users suggesting it. When we see Pete’s World in Season 2, it’s remarkably similar to canon earth, with some differences - Mickey is named Ricky, Rose was not born, Lumic industries has huge influence over the world, etc. One of the most glaring differences is that Pete’s World doesn’t appear to have a Doctor (until Tentoo arrives, but let’s leave that for now).
So it’s possible that Ruth!Doctor is actually the Doctor of this alternate universe. Again, some reality-warping event could have happened and the two universes are getting mixed up. Maybe this is the reason why she wasn’t present during the near-Cyberman-takeover of Season 2 - she had slipped through the cracks and was in ‘our’ universe. Thus, in order to keep the balance of ‘one Doctor per universe,’ the TARDIS brought Ten and co into Pete’s World.
The possibility of seeing Pete’s World also brings back the potential of seeing Rose Tyler again - and possibly getting a Rose/Thirteen kiss - so I’m here for it.
4) Ruth!Doctor is actually from the Doctor’s future
It’s possible that, of the two, Ruth is the one who is mistaken, and she’s actually from the Doctor’s future. This brings up the problem of why she couldn’t remember Thirteen, but I’m sure the writers can come up with some excuse; after all, plot threads are constantly being rewritten and retconned in this show. I find this the most exciting of the possibilities because it leaves room open for completely new stories that we haven’t heard of before, rather than yet another retread of the Time War. Also, it means that potentially, we could have an upcoming season with Jo Martin as the Doctor!
What do you guys think? What are your theories?

Spyro Fanworks drinking game
DISCLAIMER: Just because a particular trope/cliche is listed here does not make it inherently 'bad'. As TV Tropes puts it, Tropes are tools. Even a cliche can be used in a new and interesting way. PLEASE DO NO HARASS ANYONE for using one of these cliches in their fic/comic/whatever. This is also written by someone who does NOT drink. As such, be aware that these ratios are not great since I have no frame of reference to work with. * Take a drink if the fic is set in the 'Legend of Spyro' canon ** Take two if the fic title has 'the Legend of Spyro' anywhere in it ** Take three if it's abbreviated to 'TLOS' ** Take three if it's 'the Legend of' with some OC or other character replacing Spyro in the title *** Add on another drink if its basically a rewrite of the game, but with other characters/OCs included * Take a drink if the words 'dark', 'darkness', 'blood', 'destiny', 'legacy', or 'prophecy' is written in the fic title ** Take two if it uses two of those words in the title ** Take three if there's more than three of those words in the title * Take a drink if the fic is about Spyro and Cynder facing a new evil ** Take two if its a 'new ancient evil' *** Add on a drink if one of the antagonist main motivations is 'getting revenge on Cynder' *** Alternatively, add on a drink if they claim they were behind Malefor the entire time *** Alternatively, take another one if Malefor ends up pulling a Dr. Wily and hijacks the plot. If it's used in conjunction with 'man behind the man' above, take another one * Take a drink if it's part 'whatever' in a massive fic series ** Take two drinks if it's referred to as books instead of parts * Take a drink if it's set exactly after 'Dawn of the Dragon' ** Take two if the prologue has 'You cannot defeat me, I am eternal!' anywhere in it ** Take three if it's either in all caps, bolded, underlined, or italicized ** Down the can/bottle if its any combination of the four *** Add on a drink if, after all that, it basically becomes a glorified highschool AU * Take a drink if Spyro has his purple dragon powers hijacked by someone ** Take two if it's by the main antagonist. * Take a drink if the fic focuses more on Cynder rather than Spyro ** Take three if people hating Cynder is a major theme of the fic * Take two drinks if the fic completely ignores the fact that Cynder said 'I love you' to Spyro at the end of DotD ** Take a drink if it does acknowledge it, but brushes it off as 'Spyro didn't hear her' * Take a drink if 'This Broken Soul' is copy and pasted word for word into the fic at some point ** Take three if Cynder's the one singing it * Take a drink if Ignitus reveals himself to be the Chronicler early on in the fic, thus negating any impact his supposed death had * Take a drink if another purple dragon besides Spyro or Malefor appears in the story, despite the whole 'only one purple dragon every ten generations' thing ** Take two if s/he's the major antagonist ** Take two if she's female ** Take three if s/he's Spyros brother/sister * Take a drink whenever an OC comes in that's in some way related to either Spyro or Cynder (mother, father, brother, sister, ect, ect...) * Take a drink if there's a human turned dragon in the fic ** Take two if they're happy about it and/or have always wished/dreamed/hoped this would happen ** Take three if its because they were unloved/abused in their old life * Take a drink every time Cynder angst about her past * Take a drink if Flame and Ember appear in the story, despite the whole 'Year of the Dragon genocide' thing ** Take two if the reason for them surviving is that their eggs were laid late, or they were saved in a similar manner as Spyro * Take a drink if an OC dragon around their age shows up in a similar manner ** Take a drink if they have a 'dark and trouble' and/or 'mysterious past' ** Take two if finding out about said past is a major part of the fic ** Take three if she's female *** Add on a drink if they're a blatant recolor of a canon character *** Add on another if it's a blatant recolor of Cynder *** Add on another drink if they get paired with a canon character *** Make it two if it's either Spyro or Cynder *** Add another one if (in-universe) people hate him/her for some irrational reason *** Make it another one if said reason is never explained *** Make it another one if said reason is explained, but it's something like 'too beautiful, everyone else is jealous' or those likes *** Add another drink if they're eyes change color based on their emotions *** Add on another drink if they're somehow more powerful than Spyro or Cynder *** Again, add on a drink if they're a purple dragon *** Make it two if they're some kind of special dragon that's somehow more powerful than a purple dragon ** Take two drinks if they possess some element that is not one of the canon four (fire, ice, electric, or earth) ** Take three if its something ridiculous like blood, spirit, or pure energy *** Add on another drink if they possess more than one element *** Down the can/bottle if the second element is equally ridiculous * Take three drinks if Ember's derailed into a complete bitch who tries to sabotage Spyro and Cynder's relationship * Take a drink if Spyro and Cynder break up during the fic ** Take three if it was caused by Ember *** Take another drink if they end up getting back together again three or so chapters later * Take a drink every time Spyro/Cynders superpowered evil sides are brought up ** Take two if they actually appear in the fic * Take a drink if the fic is set in the far future and focuses on a new purple dragon ** Again, take two if she's female ** Take a drink if any character in it is a descendant of Spyro and/or Cynder ** Take two if its the purple dragon * Take a drink if its revealed Ignitus is Spyros biological father ** Take two if it's revealed he's Cynders biological father * Take a drink if another war starts up over the course of the fic ** Take three if it's because of Malefor * Take a drink if the fic ends on a sequel hook ** Take three if it's already part of a massive series * Take a drink every time Flame gets jealous of Spyro (be it over his own fame or Ember fawning over him) ** Take two if he eventually attacks Spyro because of this. *** Take three if he eventually goes evil because of this. * Take a drink if Flame is completely head over heels for Ember, despite the fact that they never met in canon. * Take a drink if Flame is already in a relationship with Ember with no relevance to the plot what-so-ever just because the author doesn't want Ember getting in the way of SpyroXCynder. * Take a drink if Flame somehow becomes the new fire guardian. ** Take two if he beats Ember for the title. * Take a drink if the story has Flame acting like a hot-head, despite being rather cheerful and looking up to Spyro in the games proper. * If by some stroke of luck you're reading a classic verse fic focusing on Spyro X Ember, take a drink if the main reason Spyro's considering getting together with Ember is that he's going through puberty * Similarly, outside of characters like Ember, Flame, and possibly Elder Tomas, take a drink if said Classicverse fic ignores anything that happened between the Classic Trilogy and TLoS * Take a drink if you're reading a Classicverse fic that does acknowledge stuff that happened between the Classic and Legendverse trilogies, and is set after Shadow Legacy, but for whatever reason still has Ember fangirling and trying to hook up with Spyro, despite hooking up with Bandit over the course of that game. * Take a drink whenever a Classic Spyro X Elora fic fails to acknowledge the fact that Elora is far older than Spyro, and how massive the species gap between them is. * Take a drink if a Classic Spyro fic has it to where the only moves Classic knows are how to charge and flame things, despite knowing actually combat techniques and magic in Shadow Legacy. * Take a drink if the fic only ever has Classic Spyro use fire, despite the fact that he, too, also has more breaths than fire. * Take a drink if anyone swears using human swear words even though it's never been said before in either universe. * Take a drink if anyone has a name that fits into Classic series but not TLOS series. ** Take two drinks if the name is obviously human. * Take a drink if most adult dragons are useless in battle. * Take a drink when a fic has pointlessly gory or violent scenes for the sake of it. * Take a drink whenever a killed off in a glorified fashion that makes it clear the author personally hated the character. * Take a drink if dragons kiss each other on the lips despite having the wrong mouth shape.

Two questions: 1. Are we going to see Spyro in action in a heroic way? After all, it is part of his story too (but I still love your part of the alternative extended end of TLOS: DOTD) and 2. Are we going to see a youth or teen group with Spyro, Cynder, Flame, Ember, Taius, Frisha, Sparx, Elora, Merona and the rest in the comic or the short comic?
Seera: 1. Well of course :) Spyro's going to get glorification. 2. Teen group? I suppose you could say that.

Here’s why this battered small-cap’s share price keeps falling
The performance of marketing company System 1 (LSE: SYS1) — formerly known as Brainjuicer — over the last year is further evidence that those venturing into the small and micro-cap universe need to go in with their eyes wide open with regard to the risks involved.
Priced at 970p a pop almost exactly one year ago, the same shares now change hands for just 267p after dipping another 11% in early trading. That’s almost 75% wiped off the company’s value in just 12 months.
But as buying when everyone is selling can sometimes be very lucrative, is now the time for value aficionados to consider begin taking a closer look?
Profits plummet
System 1 saw revenue sink 18% (17% in constant currency) to just under £27m in the year to the end of March. If you think that’s bad, consider that pre-tax profit slumped 68% to just £1.99m compared to the £6.28m the year before. To describe that sort of financial performance “disappointing” — as the company did earlier today — is something of an understatement.
The reason for such a dramatic fall was known in advance, of course, with CEO John Kearon confirming that System 1 had been “slow to appreciate the speed and scale of change” in its market. Having ascertained that the marketing budget cuts implemented by its clients were “significant and probably permanent“, Mr Kearon went on to state that 2018/19 would be “a period of transition” for the firm as it attempts to push its “more competitive and scalable offer” in the tough environment.
Considering the push towards low-cost automated solutions is likely to “continue unabated” and the fact that rivals are now adopting the firm’s previously unique approach (using behavioural science to inform marketing strategies) with greater frequency, that certainly won’t be easy.
Despite the limited revenue visibility, it’s not all doom and gloom. The balance sheet still looks decent with £5.78m left in cash at the end of the reporting period and no debt. The final dividend of 6.4p per share was also maintained, although the possibility of a cut in the future can’t be ignored.
Having been positive on the company in the past, I admit to being disheartened by the speed of System 1’s decline. While I can see value at this price, it’s clear that the road to recovery will be long and painful. Only patient investors need apply.
Better prospects?
For those who regard System 1 as too risky, small-cap software-as-a-service provider Dot Digital (LSE: DOTD) could be a decent alternative.
Despite some impressive interim numbers in February — including a 25% jump in group revenue (to £18.8m) and 8% rise in EBITDA (to £5.7m) in the six months to the end of September —  the Croydon-based company’s stock has fallen back in recent months, perhaps influenced by the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal. I see this as an opportunity.
Right now, analysts are predicting a 30% rise in earnings per share for the 2018/19 financial year, leaving the stock trading at 19 times earnings. For a business that boasts partnerships with goliaths such as Microsoft and strong international growth ambitions, that looks pretty reasonable to me. Returns on sales and capital employed — a couple of the hallmarks of quality companies — are consistently high and a lack of debt (and cash balance of £10.5m) should appeal to investors who like their holdings to be in rude financial health.
