the Jem’Hadar make me mad because we could’ve gotten “a system that holds the necessities of survival over your head to guarantee obedience is not a just or fair system” but instead we got “drug addicts are evil”

i'm not super into star trek novels and the beta canon and whatnot but i'm so glad that i read Last Best Hope because it really makes Picard s1 infinitely better on rewatch (and i say this as a Picard enjoyer/defender). like 100% recommend if you're even a little bit interested in Picard era worldbuilding.

Fallen Star
Let it be known that Barachiel, Dominion and former chief of the guardian angels, shall be the first untainted and pureblooded angel of God to be cast from Heaven.
A key trait of a fallen angel is their wings, which turn black as night after having committed a sin. Their blood becomes tainted and the former radiant gold light that the angel is comprised of fades to an ungodly purple.
Is it possible for an angel who has yet to taint their blood with sin to fall into the grasp of Hell and still maintain the white of their wings?

i have many thoughts about the expansion (almost all overwhelmingly positive) (maybe i’ll try to pin them down into a cohesive post after my retail shift today) but the thing i keep thinking about is how the diagonals on the compass rose seem to suggest where future expansion zones might be taking place. mr john arenanet please let us go to the charr homelands in the northeast blazeridge mountains. please. blood citadel. please. please. blood citadel. please

Quite liking this bit so far, which says something about the differences in culture and international relations involved in this world
it basically boils down to something like
“Awright so for the first leg of the journey we’re hiding all our weapons under invisibility and do-not-notice-me charms. Because normal countries get antsy when you take guns on a plane. Or knives. Or power maces. Or hand-of-glory derived laser blasters. Or Medusa Effect emitters. Or…
“Anyway yeah we hide them, and if anyone notices with the new thaumometers they have in the airports we flash our official warrant cards because we have ties with the British government and the governments in the stop-over spots know we’re coming, so they’ll turn a blind eye. So far so good.
“But when we get to Xianchurai we drop the spells. They, and everyone we’re gonna meet after them, do not care about our official status, and if they think we’re using magic to smuggle shit into their territory they will do their level best to fuck us to death with switchblades.
“However! Fortunately they are also totally chill with people walking onto their planes while heavily armed! So we’ll just wear our weapons openly and none of them will care.”
Rather more eloquently worded than that, of course, but that’s the basic idea

Hey, uh, you mentioned that you had some more piglin headcanons you didn’t have time to include in your fic, would you mind sharing them? I looovvveee piglin headcanons very much :)
yes!!! I'm sure I have some that I'm blanking on at the moment and don't feel like trawling through my notes app to find them, but here's a few:
- I imagine names and titles hold a lot of significance to them. it's not uncommon for someone to be given an additional honorific after something significant happens - after the events of my fic, for instance, legundo might get an honorific meaning "he who returns" or something like that!
- relatedly, in the dominion discord legundo mentioned that the piglin brute he talks to in the finale is called the warpriest, and is kind of implied to be the leader of their bastion. it's a title that prioritizes both strength and knowledge, which ties in nicely to my headcanon that piglins place similar value on both fighting capabilities and knowledge! I tried to kind of lean into this with the guard in my fic and showing that he's a character who's pretty smart and tries to solve problems that way.
- in s1, Legundo mentions several times that his people are distrusting of magic. I don't think this is necessarily because they distrust magic as a whole, but they distrust powers they don't understand and aren't able to either control or counter, and they can't do things like brew potions, at least not in the same way players do! though they probably do have their own ways to do a few potions and enchants, but it'd be a different method than how players are able to use those magics.
- I haven't quite gotten to fleshing this thought out yet but I think there's a lot of potential in the fact that they use a different language than players. maybe their language doesn't have gendered pronouns or something! also I think that music is something important to piglins, since they have music and they dance! maybe they do battle songs and poetry, that'd be really cool!
- this is just a personal for fun one but I headcanon that dominion legundo has hair long enough to braid, and he always pulls it back in intricate braids before battles or important meetings.
and then there's a couple other headcanons about piglins that I've picked up off tumblr, about how they value gold for it's healing properties, and how ancient piglins were the ones to mine out all the netherite and leave behind only debris. those ones are really really fun for worldbuilding, but I can't claim credit for them lol. but yeah, diving deeper into worldbuilding like this is one of my favourite things about fandom! hope you enjoy this mishmash of thoughts :D

Dominion of the Threshold
One of the newest empires to come about, the Dominion formed as a sort of reclamation project in Dahwet.  It was built upon the ruins of the Kingdom of the Ankh and the Chimeric Expanse, who had once held full control over the land until the 3rd age.  For thousands of years the stones sat and now the Dominion brought to them total destruction and rebuilding.  It was the new Dominion’s belief that the downfall of both empires was their dependence on slavery and for both moral and ritual purposes they set to work in bringing the pyramids and ziggurats low and rebuilding them.  The same image and themes were used but in building them by hired hands rather than slave labor, they sought to build upon the good of the past without the bad.  These new structures were constructed of a special magically infused ice that would only grow cold under certain conditions, giving the nation a sense of appearing like glass.  The Dominion has numerous traditions that still are somewhat odd and viewed by many as archaic though.  While slavery has been categorically stricken from its culture, the art of ritual sacrifice and cannibalism still are fairly prevalent.  The Dominion has had some difficulty in blending the philosophies and influences of the long-forgotten Kingdom of the Ankh and the Chimeric Expanse but these are some of those artifacts that have helped to unify this culture.  Their patron Mythic is the Sphinx, a creature of chemeric animal parts.  However, the Dominion’s faith and symbology is fairly branching in terms of how they hybridize culture.  The Dominion often is portrayed as having a higher opinion of itself for its approach to universalism and tolerance, to the point where some of its ideals spiral into becoming somewhat marred by a superiority complex.  Their culture rarely has much tolerance at all for those of ignorant or regressive perspectives, and regularly see themselves as in the right.  In brief on culture, the Dominion of the Threshold uses a mixture of ancient Egyptian and Mayan culture, with a specific interest in astrology.

Kingdoms and Empires Wiki Drop!
Sup guys, im releasing what i have done in the wiki today! In this post im only going to talk about the Wiki because I dont want to create an even more massive wall of text here than it already is. Please see the entire post on the forums thread!!! I solidified the lore (which means no more massive changes), set the foundations to the story (so i dont end up writing a shit ton and having to fucking rewrite everything anymore), and pretty much rewrote the canon lore until i reached a point where i literally cannot share it because itd be spoilers without the future rewrite (regarding the worldbuilding, all introduced characters and such are still the same, some just had minor tweeks, so nothing crazy like changing our old bodyguard Mary:
Tumblr media
and turning her into our childhood friend lmao So the plan now is current wiki drop. A good amount of it will be hidden since alot of it is spoilers, so you get 39,174 thousand words of unlocked content out of about 50k words in the wiki. And that's without me transferring 90% of the Codex ingame to the wiki, so its ALL (okay like 85%) new words of content and lore! Dont worry, im dropping literally all extra work and focusing purely on playable updates now until i regain your guy's trust in me after being so radio silent.
I also know and recognize that this has gotta be annoying asf since what you guys really want is updates but after what happened with the Total War franchise (my beloved) and their lightning fast content pipeline and lack of upgrading their engine ended up destroying the health of the company and ruining fans trust in em, id rather invest on the long term than short term unlike them (meaning id rather have a set story, narrative line complete, and research resources so that i can use that to run wild in writing).
I made a history of the world as known to them, so much of it is subject to embellishment, lies, and "the victor writes history" trope.
Historia Mundis
If you'd rather just have the list of articles that can be found within the timeline though, here it is: The Great Disturbances, Wars of Unification, and the Longwei Empire
Reign of the Daishu Dynasty
Ecumenical Dominion and the Flight of the Belthean People.
Belthean Migrations
Reign of Emperor Garland
Reign of Emperor Daerin I
Reign of Emperor Valerion
Reign of Emperor Elric I
Reign of Emperor Cenric
Reign of Emperor Saldwin
Reign of Emperor Elric II
Reign of Emperor Daerin II
The Interactive Outdated Map Yeahhh almost as soon as i published the map for the patreons it became outdated lmaoooo Nareth is much bigger than originally imagined, Argent is surrounded by mountain and forest tribes (think Hispania’s Lusitanian Wars or the Germanic Tribes type of vibe). The empire (being Imperial Chinese and Persian Empire inspired) also is surrounded by the these tribes, and the Imperial Province of Lymark is now the “Protectorate of the Western Regions” which basically means theyre the watchdogs of Western Nareth. Its funny because theyre also across the St. Hytera River, which is much like the Danube River, and will inevitably face the same issues Rome did with Dacia when they had a presence that extended the natural borders.
Tumblr media
Master List of Articles
The Evolution of Belthean Civilization
Veldora Duchy I may have gone too far here. I regret nothing and learning about agriculture and stuff was awesome.
Silverhill Duchy Mining is alot more complicated than I thought, though Engineering MC is gonna have equally alot to improve!
Imperial Ranks The ranks will have importance. I know that sounds weird, but I did not spend an afternoon writing this just for the lulz.
Emperor/Empress
Imperial Crown Heir
Imperial Prince and Princess
Imperial Duke/Duchess
Imperial Count/Countess
The Imperial Landed Knight
The Belthean Empire The biggest entry from the ingame Codex that I transferred over and polished. This should give you a hint of how ill do the other kingdoms in the future for their article.
Kin of Arava I experimented here and instead of making an actual article, made it a class lecture of a series of days focusing on the Kin with a racist professor lmao
Zera Arava So i had to do this in intervals as I was writing and plotting out his side stories. Honestly hope i did the homie justice, he's a fav of mine, though i think each of the ROs will be favs as I write more and more about them.
Sacred Dance I assure you the Sacred Dance isnt what you think it is.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Patreons, you guys already read the below list. However ive cleaned the articles up and polished them! The Genesis of the Belthean Empire: From Invasion to Unification
Voryn Resdayn I wanted to see how i could make a character entry. It looks awesome, but holy fuck do they take time to create lmaooo, ill make the rest of them in the future.
Kin of Arava
Eastern Kin The descendants of Kin and Beltheans who mixed, that are settled within the empire.
House Resdayn Wanted to see how I could do the houses, still unsure (okay i dont like it) of how it came out. Hence why I started with a minor house that one of the RO's belonged to.
The Astute Emperor and the Imperial Provincial Rule: A Revolutionary Shift in Governance
Master-Scholars of Jelaytha The Jelaythan organization of scholars that Master Feren is from.
Post-Unification Transformations in the Belthean Empire: Trade, Economy, Industry, and Immigration in the Wake of Conquest
Imperial Historians Obviously the imperial faction that wants to get their hands on tutoring you lmao.
Universitas Magistrorum et Scholarium The Jelaythan/Imperial organization at the forefront of the intellectual international community.
Tripartite Alliance Read what the empire is teaching their citizens about how they conquered the alliance.
The Satrap System and Imperial Provincial Rule
The Great Racist of the Academy: Imperial Historian Acillus Cinna
The Sword Saint
Master-Scholar Kaleb
The Gleaming Horizon: Silverhill's Maritime Supremacy The book of a writer who we'll meet ingame. Youll decide whether or not to bully him as a 12 year old lmao.
Baniel Worthton The author of above said book. He even wrote about himself. Yes, it's supposed to be an ick.
The Ulrich Cothon The second book of his that'll feature in the game.
So…I guess in basketball or futbol terms… rebuilding phase is over, and i got all the players i need for a championship run!
It was an almost year long rebuilding phase, true, but omg it was so needed.
Plus I also learned alot of fucking coding at the same time lmao. Basically a lot of tweaking around with Choicescript and knowing how to code some actions. Also there's CoG implementing a new checkpoint system so thank fuck for that because this game's gonna be huge and id hate to play it without a save system.

Had the nightmare realization a while ago that the deep-rooted generational trauma that drove the Changelings to barricade themselves into the Great Link, combined with how the Link can fuck with your perception of time in general, means that there are probably Changelings who have not left it since the establishment of the Dominion and who remember being hunted and persecuted by solids as if it happened like a week ago.
That definitely has some implications for why they're Like That, I think.

peddling svsss (spoilers abound)
lovingthatofficeyfeel: ok. Now try to sell me on SVSSS because I read the summary and go 'nope, nope, nope icky power dynamics do not want, nooooope' because if it is not that I am also amenable (Book summary: "Half-demon Luo Binghe rose from humble beginnings and a tortured past to become unrivaled in strength and beauty. With his harem of over three hundred wives, and dominion over both the human and demonic realms, he is truly the most powerful protagonist—in a trashy web novel series!
At least, that's what Shen Yuan, online alias "Peerless Cucumber," believes as he finishes reading the final chapter in Proud Immortal Demon Way. But when a combination of rage and a poor meal choice leads to his death, Shen Yuan finds himself reborn into the world of the web novel, in the body of Shen Qingqiu—the beautiful but cruel teacher to a young Luo Binghe.
Although as Shen Qingqiu, he now has incredible power and abilities as a cultivator, he’s destined to be horrifically punished for crimes against the protagonist, so this new Shen Qingqiu has only one course of action: get into Luo Binghe’s good graces before the young man’s rise to power. That’s the only way he’ll escape the awful fate of a true scum villain!")
lovingthatofficeyfeel: ^ like based on that summary, I would never read that light novel on my own
Askerian: oh man yeah it makes it sound like grooming as fuck Askerian: grooosssss
lovingthatofficeyfeel: exactly! lovingthatofficeyfeel: its like this for most of the danmei!
Askerian: it's not like that at ALL
lovingthatofficeyfeel: which is why I want to know why people like it so much
Askerian: ok first of all, the guy he's stuck inside of is a high ranking ice bitch, so he has to speak that way too, BUT! he's a huge nerd inside! Askerian: the contrast between the speech and the narration is sometimes completely hilarious Askerian: also. his screen name peerless cucumber is a dick joke. and the book author's airplane shooting toward the sky is also a dick joke Askerian: this guy is the kind of oblivious demisexual who will read a 600+ chapters harem story for the worldbuilding
Askerian: and the protagonist! he LOVES the main character, so he also looks favorably upon him getting everything life owes him including sex, he supposes, but! none of his wives LOVE HIM PROPERLY. hm. let's flame the author over that. Askerian: anyway so then he lands himself in the body of a teacher to a 14 year old abused kid. who is a kid! and a very adorable kid. yeee time to spoil the shit out of him Askerian: the issue there is that there's a system/game manager forcing plot points and assigning quests and no matter what he does some things must happen, such as his betraying his poor clingy baby student so that he can rise magnificently from a hell dimension and take his place as a demon king Askerian: so when his adorable little student comes back Pissed and starts doing things that look very similar to what happened in the book just before murdering his evil teacher, he starts running. but he also really wants to help his student survive and even thrive! but also, not die in the process PLEASE.
Askerian: meanwhile luo binghe went from abused by sensei to spoiled by sensei to "i will marry sensei when i grow up" to "STOP RUNNING FROM ME AND EXPLAIN"
Askerian: main character can't explain, btw. he'd die.
lovingthatofficeyfeel: ahahahahahahah OMG lovingthatofficeyfeel: see THIS, this is my shit lovingthatofficeyfeel: this sounds freaking God Tier hijinks humour
Askerian: it's so damn fun XD
lovingthatofficeyfeel: you should write the summaries for seven seas' danmei books
Askerian: also the System sells "small scenario pushers" for points Askerian: guy "what's that, ok, let's buy, maybe it'l save my life" => WHY DID I END UP HALF NAKED AND DRENCHED Askerian: luo binghe : hhhhhhh 🍆
lovingthatofficeyfeel: ahahahaha omg, wet hanfu Saves Lives XD
Askerian: shen yuan: idk what distracted him but time to run Askerian: luo binghe: D:< wAIT STOP BEING NAKED AROUND MY LOVE RIVALS shen yuan: oh no he wants to kill me twice as much Askerian: he's Oblivious (tm)
lovingthatofficeyfeel: omg. 'oblivious demi-sexual keeps running away from future-demon-king trying to seduce him'
Askerian: yiss
lovingthatofficeyfeel: this is a fanfic plot in the best way
Askerian: YISS. Askerian: i kinda love luo binghe's character too tbh. he's so nice! but he's such a yandere sometimes Askerian: i mean, nice. :X Askerian: "my fantasy life is to be my master's little housewife and i will burn down the world to make it happen" dude :X
lovingthatofficeyfeel: honestly, good on him for having balanced life goals XD
Askerian: as a kid he's adorable but also already "i hear what you said! i understand it! gonna do what i felt was right tho" Askerian: after he's been given unconditional love by sensei!!!!! but also betrayed by sensei!!! he doesnt know which way is up anymore. it's kinda clear that in the book he was from, his original version was using "seduction and sex with this random new girl that will disappear from the plot in five chapters" to paper the holes Askerian: like, couldn't trust anybody's love because he never had any, but desperately needed it. Askerian: this one's had a taste before, and doesn't know what he must have done to lose it, but he will fix it!! but only sensei will do Askerian: main character keeps expecting him to hook up with dozens of girls and it never happens and he's ?? while also totally missing all the admirers HE is gathering Askerian: also issues because he's a half demon, and sensei said he thought good demons must exist, but he was still rejected on reveal, so does that mean "there can be good demons but you're not one" Askerian: and since he's naturally smooth and it easily goes into manipulation, everything he does or say, sensei takes it as some underhanded threat or plot! he was a demon king in the book ok?! Askerian: book him was NOT nice Askerian: anyway a REALLY fun read
Askerian: though don't expect the sex scene to be good because it's a half-feral "fixing you via magic sex" and he canonically has huge meat :X Askerian: and since he has ZERO experience it uh, goes badly Askerian: tbh the author's gift does not lie with sexy porn
but tbf the point of the scene was NOT to be sexy, soooo...

My friend asked me to draw them on their wedding day (bc I drew Chintan and Jamil).
Some oc ranting for my own comfort.. Their names are Lihay and Panganoron. In my wip, there is a dominion called Sasaban.. and its in danger of occupation by its neighbor (called Janalila, which is a rajahnate and extremely powerful.). Sasaban's population is mostly coded Muslim.. and it is a sultanate- Panganoron is the heir, their crown prince under a regent, and he is mostly shunned by his people. Mainly because he follows a different religion from his state religion (like imagine if the sultan of Brunei's son was a Buddhist.) . And Panganoron is seen as "weak".. he is very gentle, soft-spoken, academia inclined rather than cunning and war-like as the rest of his predecessors. (His father followed the state religion, his mother was indigenous). Panganoron is keen on proving himself worthy of being sultan, but he had a tendency of being distracted by socioeconomics rather than warding off forces and marching off into the battlefronts- Panganoron built soup kitchens and schools rather than amassing armies, and he is staunchly anti war and anti caste systems- but because of the looming occupation, Panganoron has no real power or resources to challenge the harmful pre-existing hierarchies in Sasaban. Anyways. Panganoron was offered a way out of war with the neighboring country of Janalila, if he married a princess from a different dominion- a theocracy called Kalantiaw, the oldest and the most noble dominion in their world; The princess' name was Maitreyi. If he married her, not even Janalila would dare make enemies of Sasaban and Kalantiaw both.
Panganoron was game, but since all the borders and ports were tightly guarded, Panganoron would have to make his way to Kalantiaw in disguise, with a skeleton crew, and through old , forgotten passageways, and roads that are called "witherways", magical, and only existing within certain, precisely calculated timeframes, of which only certain groups of indigenous people could do.
Lihay is. Well. He is an "uripon"- the lowest of the low in their social classes- indentured to servitude for the rest of his life, very sick from working in the mines.. in my world building, primordial dragons were so large, their hollowed out bones were mined for thousands and thousands of years for coal that burned for decades, so hot it could cremate a cadaver in minutes- working in such mines was very dangerous- guaranteed anyone who spent more than a couple of hours in it would suffer a tamer version of radiation poisoning- but many miners become disfigured, with their skin melting and rotting. Sasaban deals with this by only making lepers and the lowliest uripon mine- Lihay had lived all his life in the dragon-mines, but he was also indigenous- and he knew his way around the witherways.. so.
Lihay is very shy. He is trans, autistic and mute, and he has an enormous crush on Panganoron; Lihay agrees to be their guide, in exchange for his freedom from the mines, freedom from being an uripon, to a maharlika (freeman, I borrowed it from tagalog for my worldbuilding. In the real world, Timawa would be more appropriate)..
Either way. Lihay and Panganoron, traveling together with Panganoron's small entourage, fall in love, which is Very Bad for Panganoron, when the fate of his kingdom rely on him marrying Maitreyi of Kalantiaw- and Very Very Bad when the person he falls in love with is someone like Lihay.
Btw, Panganoron's name means "the clouds that gather at the mountaintop" in Tagalog. (And Bicol), while Lihay's name (Dalihayang) is from a made up language, and it means "twenty four.). But later, Panganoron gives him the name "Hininwon", which means "cherished one" ! ! :')
Ps ps.
Panganoron's eyes are supposed to look like wayang kulit akdksk

Other terms/spellings/definitions from the transcripts (with help from the wiki!), because Brennan worldbuilds so casually and quickly when knows he has years to flesh out a setting lol
The Protectorate of Galthmei - the warlocks (I think?), where Eioghorain is from — mages who can wear monstrous forms “if they so choose”
The Dominion of Rhuv — the sorcerers (I’m pretty sure, based on side comments), where Captain Emliss was from, have a known tradition of opening up their bodies to be possessed by spirits
The Kehmsarazan Empire - the Big Bois, the Empire, where Suvi and her family are from
Kehmsaraza - the landmass or region from which the Empire hails and rules
Akham - an island that in the present-day is under imperial rule
The Irulian Desert - the desert that wizards made, the location of the Citadel on Kehmsaraza
The Saraz Imprerium - i.e. “the crown,” ruling family of the Empire — have a flag distinct from the Citadel
The Wizards of the Crown - Otherwise known as “Guild Mages,” the flunked-out wizards who work for the crown
The Scepter’s Chorus - A branch of the Wizards of the Crown who serve the ruling family directly as magical engineers (supposed to work on “large, practical projects of interest to the Crown that aren’t military in nature” … LOL)
The Azure Battalion - frontline forces of the Empire who are not wizards; “fighters with the Magic Initiate feat”

Worldbuilding in Five
Rules: post 3-5 images of a place in your world and tell us a bit about it!
I always struggle with games like this because I refuse to use AI but I feel like there isn't a lot of fantasy art inspired by the Bronze Age Near East that matches what I have in mind.
For this one, I'll just do the place where it all started, Labisa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The city of Labisa aka the City of the Lake (Layu-City, Bisa-Lake), is the largest (both in size and population) city in Kishetal, and among the largest in the world as a whole. The city sits at the edge of Lake Shebali, sometimes simply referred to as Bisajal (The Big Lake, not to be mistaken with Jalbisa, which means ocean/sea). Labisa has long held dominion over the Lake, and has used this to their benefit.
The land of Kishetal sits at the very edge of the continent of Makia/Macia. Before the region was settled/colonized by the future Kishites, the region was inhabited by a number of forestfolk tribes alongside several Kiriki. The city itself was founded by the Spiritblood and first king of Kishetal, Tamel. According to myth the site of the future capital of the Kishic Empire was chosen by the heroine Seha on the counsel of the spirit known as the Hoopoe King. This legend lives on in the traditions of Labisa, as to this day it is traditional for the monarchs of Labisa to be crowned while wearing crowns of Hoopoe bird feathers. The name Labisa actually predates the name for the land it is in, Kishetal.
Kishetal, which can be roughly translated as Land of Valleys, comes from a bastardization of the Alokian (The language of the now extinct Aloki people) word, Qijital (Ki-gi-tal).
Labisa has three grand walls, the first and smallest are those which surround the palace, typically called the White or Palatial Walls, these lie between the Palace complex and the Palatial Grove, it has one main gate, the King's Gate, as well as a number of secret gates. The second gate separates the rest of the city from the Palatial Hill and Grove, These are referred to as either the King's Walls or the Blue walls. This wall contains only one gateway, the Kiriki Gate. The last and grandest wall is the one which encircles the whole city, The Walls of Tamel or the Black Wall. This wall has seven gates, the largest being the Serpent's Gate, followed by the Hoopoe Gate, The Prince's Gate, The Queens Gate, The Sage's Gate, and The Farmer's Gate. Along with the many satellite villages and hamlets which make up the city's hinterlands, the City can be broadly split into 6 districts.
The Palatial Hill and Grove
The Market Districts aka the 26 Streets (Potters Street, Perfumers Street, Weavers Street, Butchers Street, Slavers Street, Etc.)
The Tomb of Tamel and the Central Square
The Temple District
The Lower City
The Dock District
