Bucky: I would kill for you
Sam: Sure, you mind getting the laundry instead?
Bucky: No

i spend an ungodly amount of time thinking how Halsin is the kind of guy to see you trying to reach something in a cabinet and instead of just grabbing it for you he’d lift you so you can get it yourself because he doesn’t want you to feel incapable

Me: loads up my queue with a month's worth of incorrect quotes at a time
Also me: wants to die as soon as I realize I'll have to edit more, save them to my drafts and add a bazillion tags, then very intricately and strategically schedule them so that I don't post two quotes with the same character(s) appearing in both on the same day

This morning I got a brief comment on a mediocre fic I wrote in a tiny, niche fandom 18 years ago.
Do you have any idea how absolutely awesome that is?!?
Because that's really the only fandom I've written in, and the story is so old, the commenter started out with, "I don't even know if this account is still active..." And yet? They left a comment anyway.
So yeah. It doesn't matter how short the comment or how old the story, know that your comment has the power to brighten someone's day!

this might be a bit out of nowhere, but have you read the locked tomb series? i really think you'd like it
Nope! Haven't even heard of it.
The thing is I'm super duper picky about what I read. Even when I do like a book it's nearly impossible to get me to finish an entire trilogy (I still need to finish the original The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Only made it 2/3rds of the way through book two, and I am a huge fan of Tolkiens writing style.)
There's a reason why most of my reading centers around short stories (scary stories especially.)
LOVE the cover art though! Tommy Arnold's got some skills 👀

If days had a taste/texture, today would be like... cheap commercial packaged mochi. Soft and satisfying to bite into until you realize it's kinda sticking to your mouth a bit and it's actually kinda gummy and oh God now you're covered in this white powdery shit and it's everywhere but also this filling kinda low key slaps? (Taro or red bean for me, YMMV.) Except it kinda has a bit of a weird aftertaste now that you're concentrating on it and so you're just kinda let down about the experience as a whole, but it's still preferable to having nothing.
IDK that's kinda the vibe today. Ennui I guess. The stillness and nothing that comes between two big holidays jammed this close together, except I'm still expected to "work" (also known as "stare at my email and wait for something to happen for 8 hours.") And my head's not in a spot to write.
Cheap mochi and ennui.
