Looking at Wish, I just keep thinking of the people who called Frozen a 'lazy movie' because they used really similar face shapes for Anna, Elsa and their mother.

Look at the ice and snow effects in that movie. Listen to the music. Enjoy the comedy. Remember that it isn't even close to the beauty of Disney's best and yet it still remains a work of art.

Now look at Wish as the monkey's paw curls. Hey- at least they use different face shapes.

#the background and character designs are so simplified it could be a tv show on netflix #fitting to call it Wish when that's the name of a scam website that sells subpar products #the songs have no structure and sound like a 13 year old wrote them #the characters are annoying #nothing matters #the main conflict is a mess #the main character is just an entitled brat #it feels rushed and cheap #and then they have the NERVE to reference their classic movies as if this garbage is the same? #they think they can have the magic without the artists who made magic possible #disney branding does not make disney quality #it is an insult to reference snow white especially #from a monumental movie that pioneered animation to something too cheap and cowardly to even try? #and the budget on Wish SHOULD have allowed fot a great movie but where did it go? #This movie would be fine enough as an indie film #to attribute this as Disney is wrong #nothing about Disney is left

And in this, the twelfth one, they finally show Odette’s mother. And gonna be honest I don’t hate her design? It’s nice, so I thought I’d take a shot of drawing what it might look like in traditional 2D, with a few little tweaks (mostly hair volume)

I know it’s not December yet but I was thinking about Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

More specifically the Huey, Dewey, and Louie story, Christmas: Impossible

Basically that story is about the Duck Boys putting themselves on the Nice List after Scrooge tells them they should clean up their act or they will be on Santa’s Naughty List. (He waited til Christmas Eve to tell this btw)

ANYWAY it’s that scene in particular I’m thinking about. This has bothered me since I was eight and first watched that movie:

In that scene Scrooge tells the boys that he’s never been on Santa’s Nice List so he never got what he truly wanted for Christmas which was bagpipes

And then one of the triplets (I think Louie? I remember him being sorta the leader of the three in this short. It has been over a decade since I last saw this movie) was like “Well why don’t you just buy it?”

And then Scrooge was like “You can’t buy being on the Nice List”

…I’m sorry what?! That’s what the triplet was asking you?!

Not “why can’t you just buy bagpipes!?” Because that would be the simplest solution to your problem, Money Bags

They’re like what a hundred dollars!? That’s NOTHING compared to the billions you have!!

I just don’t get it!

That part has always frustrated me! And then the dang segment ends with HDL writing Scrooge’s name on the Nice List so he can get his bagpipes

Just why!?

I don’t think his sob story earned that!

And Santa was just cool with it!

Whatever reason that old miser was on the naughty list? Forget it! Three kids broke into Santa’s workshop and forged his name on the nice list

Everyone deserves something nice in the end!

Walt Disney Animation Studios coming through once again with one of the least inspiring trailers I have ever seen in my life =‘)  Does stuff happen in this movie? It’s a secret!

Iiiii really don’t like the way their press copy is written up either, just in terms of, like ... lol, y’all wouldn’t ever develop a whole feature film just to tie it in with Disney100, right - develop a marketing concept about the Disney Wishing Star and work backwards like the whole thing was a brand campaign on steroids, right? ....right?

And just to be totally clear: I fully expect the actual film to be totally charming and sweet, and I expect to personally enjoy it, I just dislike how it’s being presented.  But probably part of that is due to being an old sourpuss. <3

speaking of naruto the only naruto movie ive watched is snippets of this one where theyre traveling with like an actress?? i specifically only have memory of a scene where theyre filming and she has to have fake tears put in her eyes and shes like super mean and angry and then she starts crying super hard for the scene.
