When I was 3, my mom heard me walking around the house, shouting “Mommy! mommy?” And of course, she was like, “Yes, sweetie?” And me, three years old, black soulless eyes, I turn to her and say, “No. My other mommy.” Then I proceed to tell her about how this isn’t my real life, that I miss my real family but that they had all been shot and murdered. I told her where I had personally been shot, my family’s name, and the city we lived in. Asked her how I could go back to my real life. 

She says she has no clue where I would have gotten that shit from, that at age 3 I had never been exposed to like violent films or news or anything like that, so she was understandably... freaked. Honestly it’s a miracle she did not ditch me then and there, like I was a real life horror movie child. 

So YEAH then I grew up and wrote Reprise!

Peeps as in pals or pals+? For me they’re similar in a lot of ways, but I’ll go with pals plus! 

I love wit! Like, being able to make even the most mundane topics hilarious, I just love to laugh so dearly, and I think humor shows such intelligence. I love stupid fuckin inside jokes and mild ridiculousness.

Emotional intelligence, like. just being very aware of their emotions as well as other peoples, knowing how to handle situations, etc. Common Sense.

Confidence! Style. loving who they are unapologetically. I don’t have a specific physical type, and I’m also not restricted by gender so it’s literally just like, someone really just working their own particular brand of hot.

Decisiveness and being brave enough to call me out on my BS. My no. 1 pet peeve with past relationships was people just appeasing me and putting me on a pedestal rather than disagreeing with me or challenging me. I think being challenged is really necessary for growth. 

Annnnnd selflessness. Caring is so sexy. Doing good for the world and for others. I care a lot about a lot of things, and I’m drawn to other people who do, too.

loins, :( can you like help me?? i saw that you're actively looking for jobs just like me. but im... so afraid especially with interviews. can you tell me any advice?

So I'm an extremely high anxiety person and usually I am physically shaking, full stress hives, sometimes actively barfing before an interview, but I will tell you... I have never not nailed an interview. I think there are a couple of things that you can do to boost your confidence going into an interview.1) Study up. Do your research on the company/institution before you step into that room. If they have a website, learn it. See what tone they use to describe themselves to customers or users, and mold your answers to present yourself in that same tone. You can show them not only how knowledgeable you are going into it but also how well you would fit in to their work culture and how your priorities align.2) It sounds lame but.. practice. A lot of places use the same interview questions. And of course you will want to tailor it to each place, but having an idea of what to say helps ease the panic. Also have some general anecdotes prepared from previous workplaces, like times you thought you solved problems well, times you dealed with conflict, times you failed and overcame. Don't be afraid to discuss weaknesses (don't use that 'My greatest weakness is that I care TOO much and try TOO hard' line) but don't choose anything too incriminating. DO choose something that shows growth. Tell them how you're working on your weaknesses and growing as a person. The ability to change says a lot about a person, and a little self awareness goes a long way.3) Make sure you still show personality. Back when I first interviewed I would try to just be meek and unassuming and humorless because this was serious business right? Well, right, kind of, it is serious, but it also pays to be memorable and charming, especially if they're interviewing a lot of people. I used to wear no makeup and dress blandly and almost a little frumpy because that's what Google told me to do, but I realized that my style is a great asset and it shows my creativity, confidence, and professionalism. Of course don't do anything crazy, of course keep it appropriate and professional, but I think it's important to show them a little of who you are. Same with the responses to questions, don't just give them answers straight from the book, show them a little of what makes you special. For me, that's humor. I love to make people laugh in interviews. Read the room of course, not everyone may be receptive, but people generally want to work with funny pleasant people. 4) When they ask if you have any questions for them at the end of the interview, ask questions! Have some prepared! I usually bring notes with me so I don't forget. Don't grill them about tiny little details, but DO show them that you're interested in the workplace and that you're engaged with your environment. They want people who want to work there and are genuinely interested. Even if you have to lie out ur ASS to feign interest. 5) Firm handshake, smile, and eye contact upon meeting them. Same upon leaving if the situation allows. It's a great way to fake confidence. Just wipe ur sweaty lil hand before you do it. Oh and bring copies of your resume just in case. 6) If you don't know something, don't pretend you do. Sometimes people can get away with it but sometimes they will sound like idiots and get caught in their lies. I often sit in on interviews at my current workplace, and men specifically try to do this... ALL the time. We would rather hear that you don't know but are a quick and willing learner. I think... that's all I got. Wishing you lots of luck, friend! Believe me I'm scared shitless to get back out there, but I believe in us.

he doesn’t have to assert himself as the leader because he just, fucking IS. like… he’s the reason this group is here, he’s kept them together through some truly rough shit, he’s had to act WAY beyond his years, and he bears such an IMMENSE burden of responsibility in interviews, especially english interviews. and he bears that burden so. gracefully.

he’s… a poet, an actual fuckin poet i’m not just talking like… lyrics. i’m talking the way he speaks in interviews, the way he takes some small seemingly inconsequential thing and turns it into this huge beautiful metaphor for life, i’m talking his fancafe posts where he talks about how he’s feeling and ends up making some weirdly poignant insight into human nature, i’m talking the way he describes things in english interviews where maybe he doesn’t know all the vocab but he’s SO SMART that he finds a way to say what he wants to say in a way that it still holds such weight. like… i’m not exaggerating, he is honestly a great mind of our generation and i just God i want people to see that.

hey there I love your fics and was just wondering like how do you make them so good??? every time I write my drafts are literally horrendous but idk what to do to fix them. pls help me omg. also how do you know when your fic is ready to post? thanks mama

Dude my drafts are pretty horrendous, just ask Croques. I usually feel that way until I have edited about 20 times, like most of the time I feel like it doesn’t really come together until then. That’s why it takes me so long to publish anything, because I write. edit. wait. go back and read/edit. write a little more to fix the pacing. wait to read it with fresh eyes. go back to read/edit read/edit read/edit. repeat until publishable. 

As far as WHEN it’s ready, honestly I would keep editing forever if I didn’t give myself deadlines. When I give myself a deadline, I make sure it’s really realistic (so for instance back in Feb I decided to publish ch 1 of fake sugar in May), and then I just edit edit edit until then. The morning before I publish I wake up early and do that like intensive editing on it, you know a bit like cramming before a test when I’m really on my game. And honestly it’s not until that last edit that I feel like it’s not total garbage anymore. And even then I’m not full convinced until people have read it and liked it! It’s tough man.

I guess all I can say is take your time and edit. Add bits where necessary for development, pacing, plot holes. Come back with fresh eyes to see if you need a change in tone or sentence structure or if you use a certain word too often. I’m in absolute awe of authors who can crank out quality stories in no time at all, but we don’t all function like that. My writing process takes SO long to make it readable. So don’t rush yourself! Sometimes u just gotta get the bare ugly bones down on a page before you can polish everything up. Glow-ups take time.

My most favourite author 💜 I felt like I had to tell you that as I was scrolling down Twitter, I saw another author promoting a new fic, whose synopsis resembled your masterpiece 'Fake Sugar' only with another pairing. Yes, I know that the fake sugar daddy is a topic that was used before. However this upcoming work had some extreme similarities to the point where it's not considered original. I am waiting for it to be published, since plagiarism is a big word to throw around. What should I do?

Ahh man, thank you so much for looking out. I think waiting is definitely the best thing. I WISH i could be like nahhhh don’t worry about it, but people HAVE reposted my fics and just changed the pairings before so idk.  It’s also possible that they had the same idea independently and have been working on it for as long as I have. I know there are only so many ideas out there. So I guess we’ll know when it’s published! But again, I really appreciate you looking out and keeping me updated!
