daycare attendant! nanami whose fingers always smell like citrus after lunch because kugisaki has randomly deemed him her orange peeler.

daycare attendant! nanami who roleplays with the kids as a chivalrous knight during tea time. he sneaks glances at you from his cramped spot in the tiny chair, a foam sword resting on his thighs. when your gaze meets his and he sees the small, amused smirk on your lips, he swears his heart skips a beat or two.

daycare attendant! nanami who packs extra snacks for the kids. he has an entire list in his notes app of their preferences and allergies.

daycare attendant! nanami who, during nap time, listens to r&b (sade, micheal jackson, beyonce, h.e.r., ms. lauryn hill) while attempting to finish up a book he started weeks ago.

daycare attendant! nanami who walks you to your car every evening once all the kids are gone, even if his car is parked on the other side of the parking lot.

daycare attendant! nanami who notices you eyeing one of the pastries he brought from a small bakery. that same pastry is on your desk when you unlock your classroom the next morning.

daycare attendant! nanami who genuinely enjoys doing word searches with the kids, even if they're so easy it takes him less than five minutes.

daycare attendant! nanami who looks up whenever one of the kids calls your name. you don't even have to be in the room, and he'll still do it, hazel eyes searching for your radiant presence.

daycare attendant! nanami whose desktop wallpaper is a picture of kuantan, malaysia. when you ask him about it, he explains the reason calmly as always, but you can see the twinkle in his eyes and the smile threatening to spread across his features.

daycare attendant! nanami who is picky as hell about candles. if it stinks or is overly strong, he won't spare it a second glance. that's not to say he doesn't enjoy unconventional smells, though.

daycare attendant! nanami who only enjoys talking to you. he's cordial enough to his other coworkers, but something about how you smile at him or gesture animatedly with your hands while you speak or visit him during lunch, ready to tell him a story about something silly the kids did... it makes him a little more excited to come to work every day.

yuuji is having trouble asking questions in school and nanami gives him a word of advice

Yuuji was never one to ask questions. He never felt the need to. He liked learning what was interesting, but he mainly just liked seeing his friends every day. It posed a problem the older he got. He found himself interested in very little when it came to learning and eventually he began missing important instructions to his assignments.

He felt left behind, looking around seeing all his classmates seeming to know what to do inherently. He tried his best, he really did. He tried hard to pay attention in class so he wouldn't get left behind anymore. He tried to blend in even if he didn't know what was going on, raising his hand to answer a question that sounded like gibberish, earning some soft snickers from his fellow classmates. His ears burned bright red as the teacher called on someone else. He hated feeling left behind, but more than anything he hated everyone finding out that he was behind.

So he never raised his hand again.

Even if he couldn't complete his projects, let alone his classwork. Unbeknownst to him that the teacher had contacted Nanami in concern of his disinterest.

“Are you doing alright in school, Yuuji-kun? You haven't come to me for help in a while,” Nanami said nonchalantly as if he was asking what Yuuji wanted for lunch the next day. He looked at the boy with a neutral stare, seeing the nervousness in his son, Yuuji averting his eyes, pulling the covers up to his nose, socked feet fiddling under the blanket. “It’s okay to ask questions, you know that, right?” Nanami started again, this time more direct.

Yuuji wilted at his father’s words, though shock shone through more than anything. “You think it’s okay to ask questions?” Yuuji whispered softly.

“Of course I do. Questions are important, I ask my coworkers a lot of questions when I’m at work," Nanami confirmed.

“Aren’t you worried that you’re gonna look stupid?” The boy sat up, the conversation taking an interesting turn.

Nanami ruffled his hair, letting a soft chuckle leave his nose. The feelings Yuuji was going through were more than familiar to him. “I used to, yes,” he nodded his head as he reminisced his early adolescence. “But do you know what I learned?” He quirked his brow at his son, continuing when Yuuji shook his head. “I learned that I would rather look stupid for a second than feel stupid for the rest of my life.” A soft smile spread across Kento’s lips as he watched the light bulbs flicker on in Yuuji’s head. “Asking questions are important. You shouldn’t feel bad for wanting to learn more, alright?”

The next day Yuuji made it a point to try it at least once. At least one question out of the many he knew he would have throughout the day. He trusted Nanami, but he was still nervous, unsure if asking questions was as helpful as Nanami set it out to be.

From then on it was as if Yuuji’s thoughts were only filled with questions. He was amazed with how one question made so many things click into place. Nanami watched as Yuuji’s grades improved and, most importantly, how much more excited he was to go to school.

SICK SEASON

⤷ geto suguru, nanami kento, higuruma hiromi, and choso

‘ - imagine: you work as a daycare attendant downtown and love every single thing about your job. however, as with all things related to kids that aren’t self-aware of germs, you come down with a bad case of the flu. luckily, your boyfriend is there to nurse you back to health.

SUGURU gives you medication. if you tell him you're feeling a little under the weather in the middle of a mall, he's already pulling out medicine from his pockets. it’s a little concerning how he has antibiotics and antipyretics on hand, but now that your temperature is exceeding 100°F, you don’t bother questioning it. your face is feeling too warm? suguru already has a cup of water and two tylenol tablets. you think you’re developing a bacterial infection? he’ll take you to the doctor, demand a prescription, and purchase amoxicillin for you. suguru will even set a timer on his phone so you don’t miss a dose. it's sweet, oddly enough.

he also plays your favorite movie. now that you’re sick, quality time is strictly forbidden until you get better. but that doesn’t mean he wants to stop spending time with you. so, suguru decides to put on a movie for you to enjoy on the couch, while he stands on the opposite end of the room. it's silly how he watches in all seriousness, occasionally commenting on something as if he isn't banished from your side. you find it charming how quickly he changes the movie when you do so much as yawn though. the flu doesn't matter then.

KENTO cooks your comfort meal. he knows how to separate his work and personal life, so when you tell him you’re sick with the flu, he pulls all the stops and returns home as fast as he can. and lord help him once he sees you buried in blankets on the couch. he doesn’t even care about the virus that's collecting on the fabric. you’re his top priority. in a blink of an eye, this man is already in the kitchen, knowing that staying nourished is especially important when sick.

he also does your chores for you. it’s easy to let chores pile up when you’re basically bedridden. kento knows this well, so he maintains the house without you having to ask him. he sweeps the floor, dusts the shelves, wipes the windows, and waters your plants. kento even does the longer ones that you’ve been putting off, like rearranging the pantry and unloading your luggages from your last vacation. he does it all without expecting anything more than a kiss once you’re better.

HIROMI makes you a snack box. because hiromi is very committed to his work, he has a hard time separating it from his personal life, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about your health. he just approaches things differently. if you weren’t a few years into this relationship, you’d take the snack box and his aloof attitude as a lackluster attempt at making you feel better, but you know it’s more than that. a snack box may not be a full course meal, but it has all the drinks and snacks you love (things hiromi knows by heart), which is equally as precious.

he also leaves notes for you to find. nobody likes to get sick. like suguru, hiromi is willing to take care of you from a distance. one of his favorite things to do is write small notes for you to find around the house. most of the time it’s just something cute and simple, like “i love you” or “feel better soon" left on the fridge for you to see when you grab a glass of water. sometimes he'll even draw a little heart next to it, or a very silly drawing of you two holding hands. it's nothing you'd expect from a serious man like him, but you don't mind at all. you leave small things for him to find as well.

CHOSO never leaves your side. you wonder if choso fully comprehends the fact that he could also get sick if he’s around you too much. he does comprehend it actually. he just doesn’t give a shit. choso brings you new blankets and changes the damp cloth on your forehead every few minutes. if you complain that it’s getting too hot, he'll turn the fan on before running out of the room for another damp cloth to wipe down your arms and legs with. if you start to get a little thirsty, just say the word. choso is willing to satisfy your every whim.

he also spoon-feeds you soup! choso is seriously the cutest thing ever. you established that already, but it increases tenfold when you’re sick with the flu. because he doesn’t really trust himself with the ingredients in your kitchen, he throws in a couple of bucks for some take-out. he may not be picky with the cuisine, but he always makes sure that there’s soup in your order. he’ll spoon-feed it to you, much to your dismay, but there’s no room for arguments. choso doesn’t want you wasting an ounce of your energy.

JJK Men As Dads™️

Characters: Gojo, Nanami, Geto, and Toji

Gojo Satoru

The dad who should really be the fun uncle instead.

He doesn’t care if he has a girl or boy he just wants a ton.

Even if he has the worst memory and sometimes forgets to pick up said kids from daycare or school.

Tells the worst, corniest dad jokes known to mankind. Fun puns galore.

“What did the baby corn say to the mama corn?”

“Dad, please–”

“WHERE’S POPCORN?!”

If his children were to ever get into any fights, he’s the type to ask if they won or at least made sure the other one was “looking nasty.”

Doesn’t really care how his kids do academically, he just hopes they’re happy.

You usually end up being the bad cop, having to come up with a punishment while Satoru sides with the kids. Sometimes might even help them prank you.

You often have to hide the sweets from both Gojo and your kids so no one gets cavities. One time he even gave them high fives for eating ice cream before dinner.

In fact, much to your dismay Gojo occasionally hides the evidence so they’re not found guilty. Sometimes you fear that if your kids ever rob a bank he’d be the one driving the getaway car.

“They ate the last mochi? Nonsense, that was me! You know how bad my sweet tooth is.”

PTA moms love him. They prefer that he come to the meetings rather than you.

But he cannot cook or bake for shit. You shudder at the last time you gave him cooking duties only to see the kitchen stove on fire as he and the kids were screaming and running around. (The idiot tried to extinguish a grease fire with water.)

The dad who always says yes to his kids asking for McDonald’s, even when you remind them there’s, “Food at home.”

Thinks he’s hip but uses outdated lingo. His fashion sense is worse.

Once tried to twerk. He looked like a spazzing worm.

As his children get older they end up blocking him on social media because his posts and the comments he leaves are just so cringe-worthy.

They’re even mortified that he has thousands of followers on TikTok, his video of him dancing to WAP going viral.

But the friends of his children absolutely love him and his chaotic energy, especially when he insists that they call him, “Satoru, like one of your besties.”

His children are embarrassed when they find out he’s in a meme group chat with their friends (without his own children, sheesh). Even forms inside jokes with them...

At the end of the day, he never stops bragging about how great his kids are.

The type to get extremely competitive when attending his children’s games or events...

“THAT SWING WAS WEAK! YOU CAN DO BETTER!”

...To the point that the referee has to kick him out of the bleachers, giving him a red card.

And he’s just as competitive during family board game nights (he once flipped over the monopoly board when he was sent to jail for the umpteenth time). Which is why you’ve now switched to weekly movie nights, although he loves spoiling how the film ends...

There is no doubt that he loves his children with all his heart. You and them make up his whole universe.

But he will not remember his children’s birthdays, or age if we’re being honest. (This is why he’s grateful for Facebook.)

And if he has twins he cannot tell them apart. At all.

Nanami Kento

The responsible “tough love” dad you can count on.

Although sometimes his strict rules can be a pain in the ass. The type to pull out the “When I was your age...” or “As long as you live under my roof...”

The dad who will make his children cry at the kitchen table while they do their math homework.

“PEMDAS!” He grits his teeth when he sees confused eyes staring back at him. “Use PEMDAS!”

Probably doesn’t want too many kids. Ideally two, three at most.

But secretly he’s a teddy bear and melts around his children. Especially if he has girls (he becomes incredibly protective over them and you can bet your ass that if someone takes them out on a date he’s preparing his best murder glare for the first introduction).

When his children are growing up he prohibits them from watching Spongebob or any similar show that would cause “a loss of brain cells,” preferring they watch BBC documentaries instead. (Although he secretly watches reality TV with you right before you two head to bed.)

If his children are still on electronics or playing music loudly past a certain hour he will seriously turn off the wifi.

Because how else will he read his books? He’s the reason why there’s so many books in every room.

McDonald’s is not an option (maybe once in a blue moon). You all are eating his home-cooked meals and that is final.

Although his cooking and baking skills are immaculate (you’re not sure why he’s not a stay-at-home dad considering he always complains about working at a consulting firm).

So much so that he has a “Kiss the cook” apron and another apron that he uses during BBQs (Dad’s grillin’ so everyone’s chillin’). The annual Nanami BBQ hosted at your house is the event the neighborhood excitedly waits for every summer.

Also the father who is a health nut, running iron man marathons and is in a cross-fit group. Will be covertly overjoyed if one of his kids express similar interests.

A lover of baguettes and basically any bread. Get him a sourdough kit for Christmas and he might shed a tear.

Do not talk to him before he has had his morning coffee in his #1 Dad mug. Just...don’t.

But he is on top of everyone’s schedule (this man has the most organized GCal). If he has to make lunch for his kids he sometimes writes little notes or makes little doodles on post-it notes.

Speaking of writing, he’s the dad who writes in all caps for no reason other than it’s a dad thing to do.

Such a sap but he hates showing it. So that’s why he always looks constipated.

100% gives the best hugs and is the shoulder you want to cry on if you’re having a rough day. He just wishes he could protect his children from adult life just a bit longer.

He’s the type of dad to say, “This household will never have a dog! Over my dead body!1!!1!1”

That is until you adopt one and now they’re best friends.

He might also tear up if he sees those talent TV shows that often explains a participant’s life story. Show him an ASPCA commercial with the sad puppies and kittens and he will refuse to talk to you for a day.

The dad who switches to a mini-van as soon as he finds out he’s having kids (not to mention how he immediately baby-proofed every single corner of the house).

Always listens to his kids’ side of the story first before offering his input, which is why he gives the best advice.

Has high expectations, especially academically, but at the end of the day he just wants to make sure they’re happy and comfortable around him and you.

He keeps on dreaming about taking a family vacation to Malaysia, so please book this selfless, sweet, and tired man and his fam a ticket.

Geto Suguru

The ‘cool’ dad, who is actually cool.

Aka the dad Gojo wishes he was.

Also the type of dad to have a motorcycle.

I also don’t see him having many kids, but I feel like he would prefer girls.

He does their hair way better than you ever could so you just leave him in charge of that.

And he always lets his children play with his hair, so long as there’s less knots or tangles than when they started.

However, Geto’s not a great cook, so take-out is usually preferred if he’s the only one taking care of the young ones for a night.

His outfits are always on point and even when his children are young he’s making sure they look fashionable.

Loves telling his kids bedtime stories each night, sometimes even making up his own.

Just a huge advocate of the arts. Though he will support his children in whatever activities or subjects they pursue, he will be psyched if one wants to play an instrument or be an artist or writer.

The dad who often talks about how life is a journey or encourages one to learn from their mistakes.

And if a teacher or adult tells his children otherwise, Geto would go full dad-mode and tell them off.

If he’s helping his children with homework he’s a huge proponent of the Socratic Method and expects to be the one taught rather than the other way around. But this often means no work gets done so usually you’re assigned homework duty.

Passes down his precious vinyl records to his kids and enjoys sharing his music tastes with them.

And as his kids get older he loves initiating philosophical and/or ethics conversations, especially if it involves discussing important “life” topics and questions.

I can even see him considering home schooling his kids if he feels that the education they’re currently getting is not adequate or holistic.

Certainly the type to organize a day where he and the kids pamper you and make it known how much they love you.

There definitely is a family hiking, beach or camping trip at least once a year as Geto firmly believes in connecting with nature and taking a break from the constant influx of electronics and news/information.

That doesn’t mean he’s not a competitive gamer. He’s beat Gojo at every game and he will not hold back even if it’s his children.

Overall he has a pretty casual, laidback attitude when it comes to rules. He isn’t completely carefree like Gojo or is as strict as Nanami but a nice in-between (so definitely won’t be setting a curfew but he’s not easily handing his kids the car keys).

But similar to Nanami, he’s so observant. He notes the little details, the things his kids like and dislike.

And this impacts the type of events he’ll do with them, what he’ll get them for a present, or how to talk to them if they need someone to vent to.

He wants to make sure that his parenting won’t restrict his kids or discourage them in approaching him for help. That’s what you and him are there for, after all.

His kids are his greatest treasure and he’s so proud of them.

summary: part two of home sweet home where we now take a look at how the three men from schweiden adlers spend time with their little ones.

a/n: a second part that no one asked but i wanted to do cos i’ve been feeling soft and having baby fever again lmfao hehe oh and i hope everyone’s enjoying a happy holidays!

KAGEYAMA TOBIO Unlike most parents, Kageyama's job as a professional volleyball player didn't allow him the luxury of doing what most moms and dads do with their kids. It's not as if he's neglected his parental responsibilities, he's the type to spoil his four-year-old Kaito with gifts and toys, he was just unfortunate to not have enough time to spend with him.

But on a particular day off, the stars seemed to have aligned when you asked him to pick up Kaito from daycare. Kageyama looked forward to this opportunity and he had planned an afternoon for a long overdue father-and-son bonding. However, due to his celebrity athlete status, Kageyama was mindful of being swarmed by fans so he took it to mind to wear his best disguise (see: black cap, black shades, white shirt and jeans, finished with a denim jacket).

As soon as he's parked across the daycare center, Kageyama immediately earned the attention of the moms who were also waiting for their children. It didn't help that when he stepped out of the car, they all swooned over him and recognized that he was the star setter from Schweiden Adlers. And when the bell rang and footsteps came running from the building, all the kids also stood in awe as they noticed the familiar tall person who they looked up to and only watched in the TVs. But to Kageyama, the one attention that only mattered was that of his son's.

"Kaito, over here!" He waved over the little boy, and seeing his father's presence in the crowd, Kaito sped off to where Kageyama was. He welcomed the young boy with open arms, peppering his cute face with kisses and lifting him up from the ground. The audience that have gathered were starstruck to see the usual stoic player break his facade and become a doting father to his adorable mini-me.

"You made it, Papa! I thought Mama was joking when she said you will fetch me after school," the child said through his fits of giggles.

Kageyama pressed his forehead to his son's and whispered, "I never break my promises." He put Kaito down and held his hand as they began walking to their car, saying goodbye to his classmates. "Now, let's go get some ice cream!"

USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI It was the first summer festival that you wouldn't be attending with your family, and your five-year-old daughter, Isuzu, was extremely heartbroken. What she didn't know was that you've made Ushijima promise that he would still bring her to the festival and catch the fireworks show.

So there they were standing at the entrance to the festival, your husband and daughter are clad in matching yukatas that you prepared. Ushijima was wearing a midnight blue yukata that was adorned with white stripes and strapped to his waist with a white sash. Meanwhile, your little girl was donning a pink yukata with blooming flower patterns. For her finishing touch, Ushijima tied her hair up in a bun and used a beautiful kanzashi that he gifted to you to tie it up. Before they left home, he sent you a photo and bragged about his hair tying skills.

The father-and-daughter duo leisurely strolled around the venue, checking out booths and trying different food stalls. The people around them gushed over how Ushijima was wrapped around his daughter's fingers, complying to her requests and winning her stuffed toys from games. And when the announcement about the fireworks show blared through the speakers, they joined the crowd to the viewing area.

Ushijma noticed how Isuzu was jittery from the spectators that have gathered in the viewing deck. He bent down and wiped the tears that were forming on her eyes, "Princess, don't cry. I'm here." Isuzu only clung tighter to her father, and it was then that he decided to offer his back to her.

"Come, wrap your arms around me and hop on. I'll lift you closer to the skies." The young girl stopped her crying and smiled a little, moving to his back and encircling her arms around her father's strong shoulders. Ushijima helped her adjust and secured her on his shoulders, making Isuzu gasp as she was now safe and towering over the crowd.

Her eyes flitted above as she heard the sounds of fireworks and enjoyed the colorful sparks that were painting the evening skies. Ushijima reveled in how his daughter was looking at the clouds in awe, clapping and laughing along with each bright explosion. But what he would treasure the most was how his precious Isuzu was glowing under the fireworks light.

HOSHIUMI KORAI The Hoshiumi household was a lively and loud one. Chaos often ensued with the twins, Mako and Kohei, and the youngest girl Nanami, as they were currently at that age where they always seemed to be full of energy and liked to run around the house. And Korai was the type of dad who would join in on the fun and play with his beloved children.

Moments of peace and quiet would be found at night when the kids are tucked in bed and getting ready to drift off to dreamland. However, they wouldn't be able to have a proper good night sleep without their father reading them a bedtime story.

It was another night when you returned home late and opened the door to dark, silent house. A sliver of light can be seen coming from the kids' door upstairs and you assume that it was bedtime for them. You tiptoed carefully and was nearing their room when you heard the gentle voice of Hoshiumi reading a passage from The Little Red Riding Hood. You leaned on the door and watched your boys and little girl enjoying a classic tale.

When Hoshiumi finished reading, he turned to the kids and saw the twins passed out and snoring. But his princess seemed to be wide awake, and terrified at the thought of the wolf eating Little Red Riding Hood. "Papa, will a wolf come and eat you and Mama?" She asked with her trembling voice.

You and Hoshiumi chuckled at her question, but your husband put the book down and scooted closer to Nanami. He hugged her, patting her head so slowly as he assured, "If you become a good girl and listen to Mama and Papa's warnings, then no wolf will come to eat us." He kissed the top of her head, "Now, go sleep. I'll be here, I'll never leave your side."

The little girl seemed to relax in his hold and Hoshiumi turned towards you at the door. He sent you a sweet smile, "I'm sorry, love. You'll have to sleep alone in bed tonight." You shaked your head but sent him a flying kiss as you closed the door to the kids' room, smiling at the thought that Hoshiumi always seemed to be the perfect father to your kids.

more daycare worker! nanami (finally)

"nanami-sensei!"

kento pauses, fingers holding his sandwich close to his mouth, and with a quiet, reluctant sigh, he sets it back down onto its wrapper. "yes?"

a little girl with big, blue eyes beams up at him, and the sliver of annoyance he felt at his meal being interrupted melts away. "look at what i drew!"

she's holding a sheet of paper in her small hands as she walks over to his side. pushing herself up on her tip-toes, she practically shoves the drawing in his face, forcing kento to lean back so that he can actually see it.

truthfully, he doesn't know what it is at first.

it's a stick person with blonde hair and looks extremely serious, almost overly so. is it a relative? a character from a tv show?

"ah..." kento's brows draw together slowly. no, that can't be it. neither of her parents have blonde hair, and it has a tie that looks an awful lot like one he owns.

then it dawns on him, and he's a little embarrassed it took him a while to get it.

"is that me?"

the girl nods, pigtails bouncing, and a massive grin spreads across her face. "do you like it?"

with the confirmation of the kindergartner, the resemblance between him and stick-kento becomes more obvious to him. both have the 7:3 part, both are wearing a patterned tie, and both appear way more serious than they actually are.

it's adorable, and kento's lips curve up into a small smile. it's a little funny, too. is that how they see him? the super serious teacher? does he not smile enough?

who knows? the minds of children are still a mystery to him.

"i love it. thank you, sato-san." he gently takes the paper from her, digs out a thumbtack from a container stored safely in his desk drawer, and puts it up on the corkboard behind him. it's a little crowded, but it fits, surrounded by the other drawings and doodles.

"you're welcome!" and with that, the girl skips back to her friends, off to talk about whatever the topic is for about five minutes before it changes again.

he stares at the corkboard for a moment longer, then turns around and opens a new tab on his laptop, sandwich now forgotten as his fingers fly across the keyboard. how large can corkboards get, he wonders. big enough to have space for some more drawings, surely.

first things first, TYYY to @dalalita for the idea!!! a literal genius, tbh. nanami is such a sweetheart and softie for kids it actually hurts my heart :(( ik this is short but i hope y'all liked it anyway (if u didn't, sorry!)

surprise surprise im back to yap about nanami

ok this may not be the most creative au ever but imagine him as a daycare worker!!!

like he'd be so good with kids, yk? his patience would be infinite, especially with the younger ones (toddlers n preschool-aged). but he's also able to get more stern with the older kids whenever they don't do their hw or make fun of another kid.

"you have weird shoes."

the little whisper doesn't go unnoticed by kento's perceptive ears, and he glances up from his crossword puzzle, thin brows furrowing together.

the little boy who spoke points at the shoes of the girl next to him. her head is tilted in confusion, and she stomps her feet so that her shoes light up, bright flashes of pink and purple.

"nuh uh," she rebuts, and a bit of pride wells up in kento's chest at her defiance. "you're just jealous 'cause your shoes don't light up!"

the boy pouts and crosses his tiny arms over his chest. the tips of his ears grow pink. "i ain't jealous! your shoes are just weird! only babies wear those kinda shoes."

the little girl's brown eyes narrow into a sharp glare that could almost rival his. "i'm not a baby. you're just lame!" she points right back at the boy's regular, non-lighty-upy blue sneakers.

kento sighs. it's harmless bickering between children, yes, but it can always bloom into more. he might as well put a stop to it before it starts.

the offended boy's mouth falls open, more mean words resting on the tip of his tongue before a quiet clearing of an adult's throat catches both kids' attention. their head snaps in kento's direction, and the girl's glare falters.

"don't be rude," kento says, the faintest hint of a warning in his low, gentle voice. "there's nothing wrong with them. her shoes are just as good as yours, hm?"

they nod, unwilling to make mr. nanami (aka their favorite employee) upset. his expression softens, and that bit of pride grows a little more at how swiftly that was resolved. "thank you."

by the time kento focuses on his crossword puzzle again, the subject has changed from shoes to digimon. it startles him, truthfully --- he only knew one person who actively enjoyed the digital monsters, and he hasn't talked to him in years.

i think he'd still work as a salaryman (and then quit), but instead of becoming a jujutsu sorcerer again, he just becomes a daycare attendant. like he doesnt want to take away the youth from kiddos so why not work with them yk? omg n what if theres a pretty coworker or single mom (you!!!) n he gets a silly little crush... pls tell me someone gets this

boyfriend! yuuta who can't stop bouncing his leg while waiting for you to show up. the waitress has asked him if he needed anything about three times.

boyfriend! yuuta who smiles nervously when you enter the cafe and take a seat at the somewhat secluded table.
