how do you think baby anthony would react to seeing joe in character as eddie??? like his wife would obviously think it’s really hot but little baby anthony is in her arms just staring at him😂🥺
ok i got like several requests for this concept and i just HAD to write it bc it's so cute (also hella short whoops sorry :/)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You spotted him before he saw you. Of course, Joe was working and wasn’t really paying attention to who came and went from the outdoor set— if you knew anything about film sets, people were always coming and going. The only thing that made you special was the baby on your hip. Anthony was a “wee lad”, as his namesake called him, only 13 months old, small with thin blond hair and giant brown eyes. He had just started walking on his own, babbling away nonsense every day, and you loved having a baby around. The part that sucked was that Joe had been called from home to film Stranger Things.
He hated leaving you two, but you had convinced him to do it. He had auditioned back in 2019, before you even knew you were pregnant, and, by the time Anthony came around, he had already been offered the role of Eddie. Joe wanted to pull out of the project when you found out you were pregnant, mere days after the Duffer brothers had offered him the role and he had accepted, but you told him absolutely not. “This is the biggest thing you’ve ever done,” you told him. “You can’t sacrifice your career for me.”
And now, you had flown from London to Atlanta with a baby in order to visit Joe. You told him that you were coming, but you had fudged the truth a bit, and told him that you weren’t coming for another week. Just that morning, as you were about to leave for the airport, Joe Facetimed you and blew raspberries at Anthony. Joe had lost a lot of weight to play Eddie and the look of his thin cheeks was too different for you, and you had no idea what his costume entailed, so you had no idea what to expect when you got on set.
You didn’t expect the long dark curls that ran down his back. You didn’t expect the ripped jeans and trainers and leather jacket and denim vest. You didn’t expect the shirt he wore, emblazoned with a logo for the Hellfire Club. He looked so different, yet exactly the same, and you bit your lip as the director yelled cut.
You watched Joe fall out of character, and his eyes snapped to you in an instant. “Darling!” he called, and he started to make his way to you. You saw his scene partner (Joe Keery, whom you had never met, wearing a yellow sweater) give you a confused look, but you focused on Joe as he came to you, smiling wildly. He looked gorgeous, but you did take a step backwards as he approached you out of instinct. It was your Joe, but he wasn’t your Joe. It was Eddie.
“Oh my God!” Joe grinned, throwing his arms around your middle and hugging you tightly. “B-But you said that you weren’t coming until next week!”
“Surprise,” you told him, and Joe laughed.
“Jesus Christ, he’s gotten so big,” Joe mumbled, looking at Anthony. Anthony was staring at his father, the way he did with strangers, and Joe added, “C’mere, Ant, come to Daddy.”
The moment Joe put his hands on Anthony’s waist, the little boy whined and moved closer into your chest, and Joe withdrew his arms quickly, as if he had been burned. “Does he not recognize me?” he asked.
“I mean, you do look pretty different,” you shrugged. “Really, really good, but also super different. The hair and the clothes and… God, Joe, why didn’t you tell me that Eddie was so hot?”
Joe laughed lightly, his mind obviously still stewing on the fact that his son didn’t recognize him. “Anthony,” he said softly, smoothing his hand across his son’s downy hair. “It’s just me, it’s just Daddy… Can’t he, like, smell me and recognize me?”
“He’s not a dog, Joe,” you laughed. “C’mon, baby, let’s let Daddy hold you or he might start crying.”
“I definitely will,” Joe chuckled, and Anthony whined in protest as you gave him over to Joe. Instantly, he started to wiggle in Joe’s arms, trying to escape the grip of a stranger, and Joe frowned. “Aw, baby, you’re gonna make your old daddy cry here. It’s just me. I know I look pretty silly, but it’s me.”
Before he could say more, Joe Keery approached the three of you. You had to admit that you were a little starstruck, and your mouth went dry as you smiled at him. “Well, well, Quinn,” Joe Keery said, and he extended a finger towards Anthony, tickling his little tummy. “Who’s this?”
“Keery, this is my wife, Y/N,” your husband began, gesturing at you, and Anthony giggled as Keery tickled his belly. “And this is my son, Anthony.”
“Nice to meet you,” you told Keery, reaching forward to shake his hand, and Keery’s eyes went wide in recognition.
“Quinn’s shown us pictures of you guys,” he said. “I didn’t know that you’d be visiting!”
“I told him we weren’t coming until next week,” you chuckled, and Anthony grabbed at Keery’s finger, sputtering his lips and laughing. “God, he seems like he’s having more fun with you than with his own dad.”
“He doesn’t recognize me,” Joe said glumly, trying his hand at tickling Anthony’s belly. Anthony still laughed, but Joe still frowned. “I think it’s the wig.”
“I mean, probably,” Keery laughed. “It does make you look pretty different.”
“But I thought he’d at least recognize me,” Joe said. Anthony was looking around at everything, smiling his gummy smile at everyone who passed by, and he cooed when you took him out of Joe’s arms and back into yours. “I mean, I’m his dad, for God’s sake.”
“Don’t take it personally, honey,” you told him. “He’s just a little thing, he’ll recognize you tonight when you get out of the costume.”
“But I want it now,” Joe whined playfully. “I want him to do that thing where he plonks his head down on my chest and makes that cute little noise.”
“Aw, yeah, that’s cute,” you mumbled, and Anthony kicked his little legs, obviously wanting to explore. “No, baby, you’ve gotta stay with either Mummy or Daddy, you can’t walk around here.”
“He’s walking?” Keery asked, and you nodded. “How old is he?”
“Thirteen months,” you said, bouncing an increasingly-fussy Anthony in your arms. “But he’s really little, so people think he’s, like, ten or eleven months old. Joe was really tiny as a baby too, so it’s expected.”
“Did my mother tell you that?” Joe asked.
“I mean, if it’s true,” you shrugged. Anthony finally made his tell-tale little whining cry, and you frowned. “Baby, can you get his binky from my bag? It’s in the front pocket.”
Joe was quick to go to your back, where your backpack sat, and he passed you Anthony’s favorite blue binky. You carefully pushed it into your son’s mouth, and Anthony gratefully took it, his little fists curling in your shirt. “I think someone’s getting sleepy,” Joe said softly, pressing his hand to Anthony’s chubby cheek. “Did he nap at all on the plane?”
“A little bit,” you said. “He was asleep when we took off, but he didn’t sleep for very long.”
“Maybe that’s why he doesn’t recognize me,” Joe said. “He’s just sleepy and cranky.”
“Maybe,” you offered. “Anthony, baby, let’s go to Daddy before he throws a wobbly.”
You gave Anthony over to Joe one more time, and your son made a soft coo behind his binky before his head thumped onto Joe’s chest. Joe smiled widely, bouncing Anthony for a moment, and he said, “He did it! He plonked his head down!”
“Maybe he’s recognizing you,” you said as Anthony started to tug at the ends of the wig, obviously curious about it. You could see him starting to warm up to your husband, and Joe pressed a kiss to his hair.
“My good boy,” Joe said softly, his eyes soft and warm as he watched Anthony suck at his binkie and play with the ends of Eddie’s curls. “My smart boy, my sweetie… God, I missed you two so much.”
“Well, we’re here now, baby,” you told him, and you leaned in to kiss Joe’s warm mouth. His lips were dry and chapped, but you didn’t care. You had missed him so much, and the incoming week would hopefully heal your heart. Anthony whined and nestled further into Joe’s chest, and you smiled at him and kissed his blond curls. “You’ve got us now.”

Baby got a temper
Joseph Quinn x reader (but basically just pure dad!joe)
Summary: a day in life of Joe and his toddler
it's been a while I'm sorryyy, I hope writer's block is unblocked now and I can finally finish all my Wip's, I feel much better right now
Tumblr media
Surrounded by various pieces of paper and crayons Joe lies sprawled out on the living room floor with his little mini me beside him, both more or less concentrating as they busy themselves with drawing
You've been gone to a birthday party for your friend and that leaves him with a hopefully unadventurous father-and-son day, enjoying the quietness of his kid beside him while it lasts.
Unbothered as his son keeps walking around, looking for another colour, waddling over his paper before plopping down onto Joe's back and watching for a few seconds what his father's drawing before getting bored and sitting down in front of his own paper again, mimicking his dad by poking his tongue out while trying very hard to draw a perfectly round circle.
"Tadaa" Joe holds up his finished drawing, a scrawly drawn teddy bear with a green head and red bow tie, and shows it to his son, getting an unimpressed "humph" before holding his own paper up, a big mess of color and forms
" Oh this looks fun, what is it ?"
Wrong question.
His little face turns into a frown and he throws the crayon in his hand down in frustration, right on the paper in front of him leaving a bright red stroke over his painting, making the situation even worse and tears flooding his eyes
"A teddy!" the wailing begins and his small face starts to turn red, and Joe quickly tries to deescalate the situation again
"Of course! Silly me, Daddy forgot his glasses again. It's a very beautiful teddy! And so colorful!"
grabbing the eraser he demonstrates to his son that the stroke is now gone and everything is fine again, promising to show his art right when mommy comes back home and pinning it on the fridge so everybody can see
Cuddling his mini-me into his chest and drying his tears he reckons that now is the perfect time for lunch, carrying the little highchair to the kitchen island so his son can help prepare his food.
Talking him through the steps as he helps him hold the butter knife while cutting the banana into slices, both of them keep snacking and leaving the plate a little less full-looking.
As his attention span seems to be at his peak again Joe let him go off to play again, keeping an eye on him as he continued preparing lunch for the two of them
Joe still makes the mistake of opening the wrong drawers and cabinets, always forgetting that you two had to stack up everything in the highest drawers after the flour fiasco a few weeks ago when his baby was very set on helping you bake and accidentally spilled the flour all over him, leaving you and Joe a frantic mess trying to calm him down again which required a full bath and a cuddle session after to stop his hysterical crying that started to hurt your ears and your heart.
After lunch it's potty time, a routine you both try to stick with to potty train him, sitting him down and having to stay with him in the bathroom, Joe often gets told how intense his eye contact can be but his son is a whole new level, looking up with his deep brown eyes, probably pooping while staring into your soul.
Joe as always loses the staring contest when his son informs him to be finished with a small "done", praising him like he just won an Oscar he grabs a new toilet roll, ripping off a few sheets before hanging it back onto the wall not expecting the screech that followed his action and looking startled at his son
his son looks at him with a comical shocking expression before starting a whole tantrum, screaming, and shaking his arms around while Joe watches helplessly and completely lost of what just happened that could cause this complete mood change
" hey hey what's the matter little man, did you hurt yourself?"
Shaking his head and hiccuping, emotions flowing over and making it hard to articulate properly, leaving Joe to play the guessing game
After a few more questions and checking on him to really make sure that nothing was hurt his little one nearly stabs him in the eye with an accusing finger at the toilet roll and screeched "It's the wrong way!!" Before stomping his tiny feet into the floor in frustration
Like a light bulb going off in Joe's head he puts two and two together, wanting to facepalm himself, having had the discussion of the " wrong side facing toilet roll" with you already on your first date but a whole tantrum about it was new to him, but he was sure he learned his lesson now
joe quickly fixes his mistake "I'm sorry I didn't know, here now it hangs the right way"
but his son just folded his little arms in front of him and pouted back at his dad, shaking his head again
"No, it's dirty now!"
"It's not, look? It hasn't touched the wall yet, all clean for your little butt "
Joe showed the few toilet paper sheets to him to inspect, wanting to roll his eyes when his son even looks under the paper before reluctantly letting Joe finally clean him up
But no matter how challenging life with a toddler could get there are also always these moments he wanted to treasure, laying in bed at night with you snuggled to his side, getting woken up by clumsy tiny feet trying to navigate through the dark until his son is crawling over him and starfishing himself right in between you two and falls asleep with a content sigh and Joe swears he's the happiest man on earth.

Dad-to-be Joseph feels the baby kick for the first time
Joseph Quinn x Pregnant!Reader
Fluff, Some Language
Tumblr media
"In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit," Joseph read from the worn copy of his wife's favorite book. His free hand placed on her growing bump.
Bundled in a black oversized hoodie, Y/N Quinn smiled. Propped against the pillows that leaned against the headboard.
"Oh!" She gasped with a jump.
Joseph paused mid-sentence and looked up from the page. His chocolate brown eyes wide in concern. "What? What is it?"
Y/N held her bump with a soft smile on her face. "She kicked."
He blinked. "She did?"
Yeah" She nodded. "Feel."
She grabbed his wrist and moved his hand to where she felt the kick.
His brow furrowed. "I don't feel anything.'
"Just wait."
"Love, I -" Joseph said right before he felt it too. "She did it!"
"I think she likes the sound of her father's voice."
Tears welled in his eyes as he leaned in. "Is that true, Princess? You liked my voice."
Y/N ran her fingers through her husband's hair.
"Your Mama does too."
"Joseph!" she scolded and shoved him.
"Oh come on, Love. That could mean anything."
"We both know that statement was anything but wholesome, Joseph Anthony Francis Quinn."
"Ohhhh the full name. I'm in trouble now," he whispered, conspiratorially.
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Quit being a little shit and continue reading."
He gasped and covered both sides of her belly as if he was covering their daughter's ears.
"Love!" he exclaimed. "Language. There's a baby present."
"Joseph," she warned through her teeth.
He grinned. "Love you too, Love."

Two Become One ~ Chapter Six
Summary: After breaking the news to your best friend, you and Eddie set out on the hunt for your forever home.
CW: MDNI, 18+, pregnancy, abusive ex, violence, fluff
Masterlist
—————————————————————
"Woah, wait. Turn."
Eddie had just walked in from putting Otis to sleep when you stopped him. He slightly turned his head when you gasped. "Eddie! What the fuck! He hit you! I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch!"
He softly smiled. "Shhh, no cursing. There's a child around." he shushed while he pointed to your stomach.
"Eddie this is not a joke. I-I'm gonna kill him. He hurt you."
"Woah, I'm fine." He took a step back.
You stood up, clutching Eddie's hand and taking him into the bathroom.
"Sit" you pointed at the sink. He didn't want to upset you, so he obliged.
You rummaged through his medicine cabinet before coming across a first aid kit.
"This will sting a little." You prepared him while you poured a little bit of alcohol onto a cotton ball.
He winced and tightly grabbed onto your hand. You noticed and reassured him. "you're alright. It's better than having it get infected."
"I guess you're right." He nodded, squinting his eyes due to the stinging sensation.
You quickly put on some cream and a small bandage, your face concentrating. Eddie thought you looked so adorable when you were so focused, especially because you were focusing on him.
"Are you okay?" He quietly asked you, bringing you out of your attentive state.
"Yeah, I'm just really concentrating on this."
"No, I mean are you okay? About everything that happened earlier."
"I wish things went differently. Knowing Ezra, deep down I knew things were going to escalate like they did. But to be fair, you almost killed him. You're so badass for that." You smiled, cleaning up the the first aid kit and putting it back.
He smirked. "that's all you, m'lady. You went up in there and broke up with his lame ass. You're the badass here. I'm just the side kick."
You beamed and started to blush, but then you remembered you hadn't told Scarlett yet.
"Ed's?"
"Yeah?"
"I need to tell Scarlett. I don't know if I can handle any more disappointment tonight though."
"Is this about being kicked out?" He asked, to which you nodded. "Who cares if you get kicked out? I already know we're going to raise our baby living together. So what's the point? So what? Let her kick you out."
You stayed silent.
"Listen, I have a part time job at the body shop. I have a bit of money saved up. You're a hairdresser too, right? With our two incomes, plus incomes from gigs, we can afford to move. We'll need to get bigger place, anyways."
You hesitantly agreed. "will you drive?"
"You bet. First thing tomorrow?" He hopped down off the sink and taking your hand, leading you back into his bedroom.
Tumblr media
You knocked on the door, Scarlett opened it wearing a silk robe. She talked in a low whisper, "Hey, where've you been off to? I haven't seen you in forever. I have a guy here, so make it quick."
Eddie hid around the corner, in fear of another fight breaking out.
"Scar, I don't know how to tell you this. But-" you twiddled your thumbs.
"Oh my god. Please don't tell me that you're a homewrecker." She laughed and grabbed your arm playfully.
You heard a quiet chuckle come from Eddie, who immediately slapped his hand over his mouth to cover his laughter. Luckily, Scarlett didn't hear him.
"No-" you smiled but then grew anxious again. "you can just go ahead and kick me out now."
"Oh god, just tell me, you're really freaking me out here."
"I'm pregnant!" You exclaimed and immediately placed your hand over your mouth.
"Aww congrats! I’m so happy for you, this is something you’ve always wanted! I'm gonna be an auntie!" She hugged you tightly as tears started to escape her eyes. "is the guy on board?"
You were so in the moment, you forgot Eddie was just around the corner. "Of course. We are together and honestly, I couldn't be happier. I met his son, and he is such a great father. I'm so excited for us."
"As long as you’re happy, I'm happy. But pack your bags. You know my no children policy." She laughed. You weren't mad, you were expecting this.
"Can Eddie and I come over in the morning and pack up my stuff?" You question.
"Sure! I'll see you then. I'm so happy for you." You two hugged each other one last time before leaving for your new home.
Tumblr media
The car ride home was silent. Little did you know, you both were thinking about the future with one another.
Eddie finally spoke. "Hey, did you really mean that back there? That I'm a great father and you're truly happy?"
"Yes. I meant it all." You stared into your lap, grinning at what your life had become in only a matter of weeks.
"Fuck," he beamed. "you have no idea what that means to me."
"Shh! No cursing, there's a child around!" You said, mocking him. He looked at you, a laugh breaking out of his smile.
Tumblr media
"Put that down." Eddie called out as you began to pick up a cardboard box from his van.
"It's only my stuff, I can handle it." You adjusted the box in your grip, only for him to step in front of you, blocking the path.
"Nuh-uh." He waved his finger like an angry mother. "Put it down."
You hesitantly obliged. "Fine, but I need to do something else while you're bringing my boxes in."
"Fine. Go look at those magazines I brought home."
You half-heartedly trudged inside, dreading the thought of having to flip through realtor magazines he had brought home from work.
Recently Eddie had been bringing up the topic of moving- more so than ever. You knew you had limited time and you had to get settled in and completely ready before the baby arrived.
You flipped through multiple pictures of homes before one page caught your eye. It was a spacious, but small home with with 3 bedrooms- just what you needed. You picked up a notepad and wrote down the phone number that was listed on it.
Just then, Eddie had brought in the last cardboard box. A few dribbles of sweat on his forehead were wiped off with his Megadeath T-shirt.
"Hey honey?" You called out.
"Hm?" He raced into the room, a sense of urgency to get whatever you wanted.
"I think I found a place. C'mere." You waved him over and pushed the magazine closer to him.
He examined the page for a moment. "It's perfect. Let's call."
Tumblr media
You were on your way to meet the realtor to take a tour of the house, Eddie blasting his usual metal music on the ride there.
"You excited?" Eddie asked, rubbing your leg.
"Mhm." You hummed. Something was off with you and he could tell.
"Babe, what's up?" He turned down the music and looked at you intently.
"I don't know..." you rubbed your sweaty palms against your pants. "Don't you think we're moving too fast? I mean, we just found out I'm pregnant like, two weeks ago, now we're buying a house together."
"Yeah." He nodded. "Of course I do. But, it is what it is. We can't change it. Plus, I have a good feeling about you." He took a turn, pulling into the driveway. "A feeling I didn't even have with Chrissy. And- and looking at this house now with you, all I can do is imagine us in it. Our home."
Your eyes went back and forth between the long haired man in the drivers seat to the small brick house. You couldn't help but imagine Otis and the baby playing together in the front yard, greeting them with hugs as they get off the bus everyday, throwing birthday parties for them, inviting their future friends over for sleepovers, even the littlest things that would normally be considered a chore, like bringing in bags from the grocery store, filled you with joy.
Tumblr media
The house tour came to an end before you knew it, you and Eddie were both more than confident on the decision. You put a deposit on the house quicker than you could have ever imagined. You hopped into the car, urgent to pack up all your things and move into your new home as soon as possible. Although you had to wait a little bit until you could actually start to move in.
The beginning of the rest of your life had started today.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This can't be real..." You whispered to yourself as you stared blankly at the piece of plastic in your hands. Staring at two little pink lines.
Two little tiny pink lines telling you you're pregnant. How? You and Eddie have always been careful. You used protection every single time you had sex.
You've had scares in the past where your periods were weeks late. But when you ended up being over a month late this time around. You decided it was time to take a test. You had a gut feeling you might have been pregnant.
You were exhausted more so than usual. Extremely sensitive and had nausea every morning and evening. Were you surprised? No. Shocked? Yes. There was a little part of you hoping you were wrong. A baby right now just wasn't in yours and Eddie's plan.
You've only been dating for almost two years now. While having a family with him is something you do want. Getting a head start right now just wasn't ideal. You only just moved in together this past summer.
Now that you hold this little test strip in your shaking hands, you know you'll have to break the news to your boyfriend eventually. He's out in the living room watching The Golden Girls. A show you never would have guessed was his favorite. You heard his laughter echoing around the trailer during the cheesecake episode.
Was he going to be mad? Would he scream and yell at you? Blame this all on you? You thought to yourself. You felt like you were going to throw up out of nervousness.
No. Eddie wouldn't be upset with you over something like this. He isn't that type of person. No matter how others viewed him to be. He isn't like that. You can't even remember a time he raised his voice to you. You soothed yourself down, taking deep breaths.
Opening up the bathroom door, you make your way over to him.
"Hey baby, come watch." He pats the cushion next to him.
You swallow hard. "Uh, can we turn this off for a sec?"
Eddie looks up, noticing there was something very wrong with you.
"Uh, sure." He grabbed the remote, switching the tv off.
"Well, there isn't any better way to tell you this, so I'm just gonna say......I'm pregnant." You blurted out.
Eddie laughed at first. "Pregnant. Okay." He takes a sip of his beer. His laughter quickly died when you saw the serious and very scared look on your face.
"You took a test?" He gulped.
"Yeah, just a few minutes ago." You swallow another lump in your throat.
You immediately start to panic again, "We're always careful. I don't know how this happened."
Eddie stands to quickly be by your side. He hasn't really had time to process what you just told him. His immediate focus right now is calming you down.
We're careful...WE'RE ALWAYS CAREFUL!" You shouted. Your face is growing hot, and you feel like you could pass out any moment.
"You always wear a condom you fuckin' keep them in your wallet for christ sake"
"I know, baby, but I mean those things don't always work," Eddie reassured you softly, rubbing your back.
"We're always careful." You repeated again.
"Well, let's think back to when we weren't careful." He's trying to help put the pieces together. There had to have been a time when you both were so caught up in each that he didn't put on a condom or something.
"When was there a time I didn't at least wear one?"
"I dunno." You tap your fingers against your forehead. While Eddie guides you to sit down on the couch. "There had to have been a night - where - we..." You trailed off.
"My parents," you gasped loudly, snapping your fingers together.
His brows shoot up, and his eyes widen. He suddenly remembers that night very, very well. But he pulled out. He knows he did.
"When we stayed the night because of the storm" You continued on. The memory of that night flooding back to you. That was it. Eddie had promised to pull out right before he finished - yet obviously didn't do it in enough time.
There was something in the air that day. You couldn't pinpoint what it was. You had told Eddie to behave, but at dinner, you were the one misbehaving. Teasing him a little. Trying to get a rise out of him. You didn't think he was still going to be worked up even after it was time for bed. You were wrong. Very wrong.
"Huh," Eddie sounded utterly perplexed. He moves to sit down next to you. trying to bring you any amount of comfort he can offer.
"Huh what?" You repeated back to him. Why wasn't he as freaked out like you?
"Jus' the fact that I got you pregnant on a pull out couch is fucking ironic" He was in disbelief. Absolute disbelief. He knew pulling out wasn't his strong suit, but he never thought from just that one time would get you pregnant.
Was Eddie upset you were pregnant? No. Not at all. Having kids with you was something he always saw in your future together. How could he be so stupid, though? He thought. The one time he doesn't use a condom and you get knocked up.
"Are you--are you joking right now?" Your mouth hangs open. "Don't joke, please don't joke."
"Hey, hey, it's okay. Everything will be okay. " He pulls you to him. Your head lays flat against his chest. He was trying to be supportive, but on the inside he's freaking out. When he freaks out, he makes dumb jokes to lighten the mood. Something he knows he shouldn't have done, but it's too late now.
"Sooooo at yours parents place it was then." He draws out leaning forward to rest a hand under his chin.
"I guess." You murmured.
Eddie smiles fondly to himself. He most definitely remembered that day. That night, most importantly.
"....well," He perks up, jumping up to stand. He was trying to be as optimistic as possible. Truthfully, on the inside, he was freaking out. If you weren't sitting there in front of him right now, he would probably be pissing himself. Eddie knows you would be an amazing mother to his children. He most definitely knows he would be a great father, too. A complete contrast to how his father was.
"Time to make some calls." He was already heading for the phone when you panicked, running over to stop him. "We can't not yet--i need to see a doctor first."
"To make sure I am...I mean I know I am, but I need confirmation,"you further explained. Eddie just stood there listening to you and agreed as he silently nodded his head.
"Okay, well, after we see the doctor, who are we telling first? Your parents or my parent?" He was so eager to tell everyone. He was terrified, but the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. A tiny little version of you and him mashed together, running around.
"We'll tell Wayne first." You said matter of factly. You loved your parents, but you were closer to his uncle. He was like a second father to you, and you couldn't imagine anyone else knowing before him.
Eddie smiles and leans down to kiss the corner of your mouth.
"You scared?" He whispered leaning his forehead against yours.
...a-a little, but we'll be fine." You whispered back. The longer it sinks in that you're pregnant, the panic seems to fade. Eddie wasn't angry with you. He was scared you could tell but that's to be expected.
"Don't be scared, baby. We're doing this together." He reassured before kissing your lips softly again. "M'gonna take care of you both."
Tumblr media
It's been three weeks since you took your pregnancy test and had your doctor's visit. They confirmed you were, in fact, expecting. Two months, to be exact. You were greatfull you got pregnant in the winter. Oversized sweaters and hoodies were your best friends. Now, it was time to break the news to everyone.
Eddie and you had already agreed. Wayne was going to be the first to know. You had everything planned out. You had told Eddie to call his uncle and ask if he wanted to go out for dinner. Knowing Wayne, he wasn't going to pass up on an opportunity to spend time with either of you.
You wanted to surprise him with a gift. You know Wayne has a green thumb. He loves to garden. He brags about how he has the best tomatoes in Indiana. So you took Eddie shopping for the perfect gift to give to him as a cute way to tell him you and his nephew are having a baby. You hope he'll catch on and figure out he's going to be a grandpa when he opens his present. It's a little onesie with "Home grown" embroidered on the front with little veggies.
"I like this one." You pointed at the cute little outfit on the hanger.
Eddie chuckled, reading the front. "Wayne's gonna love it. Hell won't be surprised if he tried wearing it." He joked, picking up the tiny shirt off the rack.
You giggled, "I can't wait to tell him."
"Me too, I can't keep my mouth shut for much longer." He mumbled, smirking at some of the funny sayings scribbled on the baby clothes.
The longer you came to terms with the fact that you're pregnant, your stress eased up. Sure, you were still scared, but you had Eddie and your friends. Plus your family. You reassured yourself almost daily that you'd be fine and to enjoy your pregnancy. Every single article of clothing you saw you bought. Didn't matter the color or size. If it was cute, you picked it up.
Eddie was a nervous wreck in the beginning but concealed it well. Mostly because he knew he needed to be there for you. he was also excited, too. He couldn't wait to share his hobbies with his little one. Read them bedtime stories. Sing to them at night before bed. Teach them to play an instrument or two. He looked forward to showing up to the PTA meetings in his battle vest with his sweet "mini me" on his hip.
Eddie knew he was going to be a good dad. He promised you and the baby still in your tummy every night he'd protect the both of you. He couldn't keep his hands off your belly. You weren't far along in your pregnancy, but Eddie was constantly hoping he could feel a little kick.
"We should do the dinner today." Eddie mentioned holding a handful of baby clothes.
"He might wanna to do it tomorrow since he's off."
"I'll call'em when we get home and ask. he can't say no to me." You agreed. It's true Wayne can't say no to you. Which you will take advantage of.
Later on that day after you and Eddie arrived home. You put Wayne's surprise in a little gift bag with a note attached to it.
Picking up the phone, you began dialing his number patiently, waiting for him to pick up. He should be home by now. You thought. "Hey Wayne, it's me, your favorite. I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me and Eddie tonight instead of tomorrow? "
Eddie leaned closer over in the wooden chair sat by the dining room table. He scoffs when he heard you get extatic on the other end. Knowing full well, his uncle said yes.
"You will? Okay, we'll pick you up at five o'clock sharp."
"Favorite, huh?" He crossed his arms with a smirk.
"You know it." You playfully mess up his hair as you run to your bedroom to get ready.
"Yeah, well, I've known him longer... I have seniority over him!" Eddie yelled out, teasing you.
He gets up from his chair, making his way to your shared bedroom. He stands there leaning in the doorway. Admiring you getting undressed in front of him. Taking in every curve on your figure.
Eddie moves to wrap his arms around you from behind. Pulling your back tight to his chest. His nose buried in the crook of your neck. You smiled softly, melting into his arms.
"Ya know, I was reading that baby book you bought it said something about sex helping induce labor." He whispered seductively in your ear. His lips trailing light kisses down your neck.
You turned your head."...Eddie, that's not until months from now." You let out a breathy laugh.
"Yeah, but just think about how well prepared you'll be when the time comes - kid is just gonna slide right out." Eddie argued. You know half of him is joking, and the other half is completely serious.
"Get dressed, babe. we leave in thirty minutes." You peel yourself from his tight grasp.
"Offer still stands." He holds up his hands in surrender.
Fifteen minutes went by, and there was a loud knock at your front door. His uncle had driven over so you all could ride together. After much bickering from Wayne, you all packed in Eddie's van.
Wayne refused to let Eddie drive, so it was you and him upfront with your boyfriend sulking in the backseat. Mumbling to himself about how he's not that bad and how everyone else just drives slow.
You noticed Eddie's uncle looking at the small gift bag you made up for him. His eyes kept wandering over to guess who it was for and what was inside.
Once all three of you pulled up in front of the new local diner in Hawkins. You three gathered in and let the hostess walk you over to your table. You and Eddie sat next to each other in a booth, leaving wayne alone across from you. The waitress comes over taking everyone's orders. After she left, you figured it was the perfect time to give it to him.
You look up at Eddie, nudging his side to grab his attention. His uncle just got done scolding him over his breaks needing change.
"So uh, we got you a present," Eddie coughed. He doesn't think he can handle more lectures from the man who practically raised him.
But he straightened up his back, preparing for anything.
"Yep here you go hope you like it." You picked up the bad next to you and placing it front of him.
"For me?" Wayne grabbed it and started taking the tissue paper out. "It ain't ma' birthday yet."
He laughs when he pulls out the tiniest little shirt he's ever seen. "Home grown, that's cute...I don't think it's gonna fit me though darlin-."
He cuts his sentence, short eyes growing wider by the second. You and Eddie look over at each other, smiling from ear to ear.
"Is this what I think it is?." Wayne questioned with tears threatening to spill over his lashes.
"Yep we're having a baby." Eddie moved to wrap an arm over your shoulder and pulling into his side.
"We wanted to tell you first." You choked back a sob.
Wayne still gathering his thoughts. He's holding the small onesie in his hand like he's already holding your newborn baby.
"I-I'm gonna be a grandpa?" Wayne wiped at his eyes. His was starting to become overwhelmed.
Here come the tears from Eddie now. His eyes swelling up and nose turning red. He's never seen Wayne this over come with emotions before. The only time he's ever seen him like that is when his dad started his usual mess. That was always just out of anger and frustrations mostly. This was pure joy and happiness. Wayne has always wanted the best for his nephew.
"We're thinking of naming them, Ozzy." Eddie tried to joke and lighten the mood.
Wayne couldn't say anything but only shake his head at nephew. He cleared his throat, grabbing napkins from the dispenser on the table.
"We are not." You spoke up, wiping your eyes.
Your food finally came, and the waitress gave all three of you a concerned look. A table full of adults bawling their eyes out is a cause of concern. Especially in this town. It was only when she noticed the tiny onesie folded up neatly beside wayne on the table, did her worry look drop. She mumbled a soft aww and set everyone's food down.
"Congratulations to all of you." She said with a warm smile.
The rest of the night went on like normal. Except now instead of Wayne fussing at Eddie for not eating healthy. He was doing that to both of you. Telling you how you need to order seconds because you're eating for two. Informing Eddie how the trailer needs to be baby proofed immediately. The only thing left to do was tell your parents next and his friends. You can only assume which of the two is going to freak out the most.
You leaned over and whispered to Edde, "You wanna tell Dustin next ooooor-?"
He side eyed you. " We're telling your parents next - if it makes you feel better, I'll be on the phone so they can yell at me instead."
"Deal?" Eddie leaned back in the booth, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. He was busy focusing on Wayne's ranting and your concerns about telling your parents.
You sighed, dreading that phone call, but knowing it needs to be done. "deal."

Just imagine dadJoe if his little ones showed up at a photoshoot or an interview 🥹
tiny lil blurb lol bc we deserve it
Tumblr media
“This project was so special to me,” Joe said, looking just past his computer as he thought about the interviewer’s question. The interviewer sat on the other end of the Zoom call, watching and waiting, and Joe added, “We filmed mostly in London, which meant I got to stay home with my girlfriend and our daughter, and that was meaningful to me.”
“How old is your daughter now?” the interviewer asked, and Joe smiled widely, thinking about his little Evelyn, his dearest Evie.
“She’s two and a half,” Joe answered. “And she’s a handful, but I adore her.”
“Terrible twos, right?” the interviewer laughed, and Joe nodded as he smiled. “Just one more question, Joseph—“
Just then, the door to Joe’s office creaked open, and he quickly turned to try to shut it; the flat had a draft that opened doors all the time, and he thought he had closed it fully, but he stopped when he saw his curly-haired Evie standing there in her jammies, holding her stuffed bear to her chest. “Well, hello there,” Joe cooed, sliding away from his desk and beckoning her over to him.
Evie instantly went to her daddy, climbing into his lap as she popped her thumb in her mouth, and Joe grunted as she adjusted her tiny weight on his lap. “Seems like someone woke up early from her nap,” Joe said, smoothing down Evie’s wily curls, and he planted a kiss on her head. “Where’s Mummy, darling?”
Evie shrugged and cuddled up in Joe’s warm arms, and he smiled as he turned his attention to his computer once more and the interview call. “This is Evie,” he said. “She gets clingy after naps.”
“Hi there, Evie,” the interviewer said, and Joe smiled as Evie waved at them. “Like I said, one more question— Did being a father affect your performance in this movie? I mean, a horror movie is quite a big undertaking.”
“Well, being a father affects every aspect of my life,” Joe started, wrapping his arms around Evie’s middle. “I wanted the job in A Quiet Place because of how the script affected me, I couldn’t help but imagine if I went through this, how would I protect my family versus how my character protects his family. I would lose sleep, worrying if I would be able to protect my girlfriend and my daughter in this situation. It affected my performance greatly, I’d say.”
“Daddy,” Evie mumbled, her thumb still in her mouth.
“Yes, my love?” Joe said, looking down at her, and she rested her head on his chest, playing with the thin silver chain around his neck.
“Hungry,” Evie said, and Joe nodded, rubbing her back.
“Hungry? That won’t do at all,” Joe said. “We’ll get a little snack in a minute, when Daddy’s done here, alright? I’m almost done.”
“Okay,” Evie whispered, and she kicked her legs a little as she waited.
Joe smiled and shook his head a little, amused by her, and he asked, “You said that was the last question?”
“That’s all I’ve got for you,” the interviewer said, and Joe nodded. “Thank you for your time, have a good one.”
“You too,” Joe said, and he looked down at sleepy Evie in his lap. “Say bye, Evie.”
“Buh-bye,” Evie mumbled, waving at the camera again, and Joe was quick to click off the Zoom call.
“Let’s go find that snack, eh?” Joe asked, slinging her around his waist as he stood from his chair, kissing her face again. “I’m feeling some apples and peanut butter, how does that sound to you?”

Hi! I love your JQ work 💕
I would like to request a cute blurb. This one contains about reader and Joe having a baby together. If you're uncomfortable with that, it's totally fine - just ignore this.
Reader and Joe met on the set of season 4, they're characters are love interest and behind the scenes they also fell in love. A few years later they're married with a baby less than a year old.
The couple shows their baby their scenes. Baby recognizes mama but not dada.
not daddy
dad!Joseph Quinn x mum!reader
A/n: so cute! I couldn't not do it! hope you enjoy <3 (fully inspired by my nephew and his judgement for everyone)

Seeing yourself on TV always comes with a little discomfort, cringing upon hearing your own voice or how your nose looks in some scenes but watching yourself from five years ago hits extra hard.
You and your husband had planned a small movie night together cuddled up on the sofa, but just as he was searching through Netflix to find something to watch, the baby monitor beside you lightens up and the small whimpers from your 18 months old daughter turned into crying within seconds.
You and Joe looked at each other, it's his turn now. He jumped off the sofa and handed you the remote before sprinting up the stairs to her room.
The crying stopped nearly instantly and you could hear Joe's soft talking and shushing through the baby monitor before it went silent and he walked with her on his arm into the living room sitting himself beside you again
"What's the matter little munchkin huh?" You cooed at her "you just ate, you can't be hungry again can't you?" She turned her face into Joe's neck, grabbing his curls in her small hands
"Her nappy is also dry, just think she needs a few more cuddles to sleep hm?" He softly nudged her little head with his nose, soft curls of dark hair on it that looked so much like Joe's, matching their chocolate button eyes and turning her into a tiny version of your husband.
Her answer to him was an even firmer grip on his hair before pulling on it, hard.
"Ow ow ow no baby don't hurt daddy " Joe winced and desperately tried to free his hair from her surprisingly strong grip.
At this she lifted her head up and blinked owlishly up at him, "daddy" her small hand let go of his curls and instead pushed her flat hand into his face, squishing his nose and making you laugh at Joe's deadpanned face
" Surprised she even recognize you with such long hair, you start to resemble Eddie again " you joked, his hair wasn't that long but it reaches nearly his shoulders and was the longest you ever saw it without the help of a wig, wanting to grow it out for his new role.
"You always recognize daddy right, you're a smart girl " he nodded at her
" You wanna bet on it ?" You winked at him and nodded towards the TV where the trailer for stranger things showed up
" Gosh I haven't watched it in years " he turned your daughter around on his lap and pointed with his finger at the screen "without this show you wouldn't even exist now, can you believe this? Not a world I wanna live in " he whispered to her and gives her a little kiss on her head
Your heart felt like it's gonna explode with all the love you felt watching the two most important people in your life, not even wanting to imagine a world without them in it. But Joe was right, if there wouldn't have been so many coincidences lined up onto another, bringing you two together on the set of season four and falling in love in between filming, you maybe would still share a flat with your best friend, jumping from one night stand to another, giving up on relationships and true love.
" Alright but only the fun scenes, don't wanna traumatize her already with watching her mom's bones getting cracked " you mumbled the last part to not get her to catch that and fast forward to the forest scene with both you and Joe, your favorite.
Her gorgeous round eyes lit up and a big smile spread across her cheeks, she starts wriggling excitingly on Joe's lap, having him grab her a little tighter to not let her fall, "mummy!" She turned her head towards you and then back to the screen
" Yes you're absolutely right, that's your mummy! And look who's there too!" You make a surprised face at her and point to the screen where Joe aka Eddie walks into the scene.
But instead of screaming daddy with the same enthusiasm her face turned into the most uninterested little frown her little face could master, plumming her little body against Joe's creating an adorable double chin
"Told ya" you laughed at Joe who frowned down at his daughter
" Look it's daddy " he tried to convince her
"Mummy!" she smiled at you again when she saw your character on the TV but instantly turned blank again when the camera switched towards Eddie, even looking a bit judgy as he threw himself off the bench
"Wow this is the most devastating criticism I've ever received" he tried to cover his disappointment with humor but the little downtown of his lips was clearly visible
"You have to admit, the wig does make you look very different"
Joe huffed as your daughter screeches mummy again and places her on your lap before walking to the TV and standing right in front of it.
You watched in amusement as he starts recreating Eddie's scene, exaggerating the facial expressions and theatrics, making your daughter giggle before screaming "daddy move!" at him
You started laughing hysterically and Joe tried really hard to look offended but eventually couldn't hold his laughter back and ran up to her and held her up in front of him wriggling her around
"What did you just say hm? What did you say" blowing raspberries all over her face and making her screech in laughter, little body shaking
"Don't do this too much she's gonna…."
The loudest fart in baby history echoed through the living room and ended your sentence for you
Her cackling after it rounded it all up
"Alright, she definitely got this from you" Joe stated before holding her away from him and pushing her nappy butt near your face making you screech and hide behind the cushions
TV fully forgotten now.

Steve knows the kids don't mean it when they make him feel stupid. Mostly because they're just as dumb as they are smart. If they were curious enough, they'd stick a fork in an outlet. That's what Steve was for, and he's okay with looking out for them until they realize they can start doing it for themselves. They're learning. . .slowly.
Of course, Eddie doesn't realize this until after Vecna, and he's running around like a chicken with his head cut off and he's trying to stop Max from smothering Mike with a pillow in his sleep. Suddenly, he's a stressed-out dad smoking on the back porch at the homecoming party they've thrown at the Munson's new home. He's watching them run around the backyard, looking tired, and Wayne is laughing at him.
"It's not funny," Eddie muttered. "I love those kids but they're going to make me go gray."
"Or lose your hair," Wayne said in amusement.
"Don't even joke about that," Eddie said.
"Got you something, boy," Wayne said and handed him a small box.
Eddie opened it up to reveal a world's greatest dad mug. He looked up to find Wayne drinking out of a world's greatest grandpa mug.
"Seriously? Did you buy that for yourself?" Eddie asked.
"Yep."
Steve came out on the porch, drinking out of a world's greatest mom mug.
"Not you too," Eddie said.
"I think it's funny," Joyce said from beside Hopper.
"Even if it's about one of your kids?" Eddie asked, and she just grinned.
"You know, I think Will and El are the only ones we don't have to worry about," Steve grinned, sitting next to Eddie. "They're angels."
"That's true. . .wait, what's Max doing to Mike?" Eddie asked.
"Well, it looks like Mike has fallen asleep in the grass, and Max is. . .Max is giving Mike a free haircut," Steve said as he sipped his coffee.
"Yeah, I figured that was coming when Mike said skateboarding is stupid," Hopper said.
"You knew Max would cut his hair?" Eddie asked.
"You gave her the scissors, didn't you?" Steve asked.
Hopper stared off in the distance as he sipped his own cup of coffee. Joyce looked at her husband in horror.
"Hop!"
"Should we stop him?" Eddie asked.
"Nah," Steve said.
"What did he say to you?" Eddie asked.
"Well, Dustin joked about us acting like a married couple, and Mike said that I would never marry you in a million years," Steve scoffed and looked at Eddie seriously. "I would marry you in a heartbeat, baby."
Mike yawned and stretched, his brows furrowing.
"Does anyone else feel a breeze?" Mike asked.
"He's looking this way," Eddie said with a grin. "May I kiss you in front of everyone?"
"Absolutely," Steve said with a grin.
Eddie leaned forward and captured Steve’s lips with his.
"Finally," Robin said, coming out of the house.
She was sipping on a mug filled with tea. On the mug, it said: world's worst godmother. Dustin came out a moment later wearing a hat that said: world's loudest child. Eddie glanced at Wayne with an amused look.
"You really went all out, huh?" Eddie asked.
"We had plenty of hush money," Wayne shrugged.
As Max wondered inside, she handed Dustin a pair of scissors.
"What am I supposed to do with these?" He asked.
"Oh my God! My hair!" Mike shrieked. "Henderson! You're dead!"
"It wasn't me, I swear!" Dustin exclaimed and ran off when Mike started chasing him.
"Dustin! You butthead!" Eddie exclaimed. "No running with scissors!"

Summary: . . . You and your kids wake Eddie up with a surprise for Father's Day. warnings: fluff and Eddie being down bad for Reader 🤭, implications of baby making.
word count: 2k
more dad!eddie here
Tumblr media
“'Shhh', mama?” Your four year old asked as she trailed behind you in the hallway.
“Yeah, we have to be quiet so you can wake daddy up with a surprise.” You were trying not to make too much noise with the flowers, wrapped in apparently the world’s loudest brown paper, hitching your nine-month old up higher on your hip.
Thank goodness neither of your kids were in a fussy mood, especially considering you’d gotten them up early after the terrible night before. Wayne had a new tooth coming in, he was absolutely miserable and your poor baby made sure to let everyone know. He’d been wailing most of the night and Eddie took it upon himself to soothe him, rubbing some baby friendly orajel along his gums, massaging them with fingers dipped in cool water, and offering frozen teething rings and plenty of comfort in the form of nonstop cuddles.
He hadn’t joined you in bed until the early hours of the morning, which worked out perfectly. Eddie had been dead asleep when you got up, squishing a pillow you’d planted in place of yourself to his chest.
Next came getting the kids ready, which was also surprisingly easy. Penny was pliant with sleep, letting you dress her without whining (she kept trying to lean forward so she could rest on you and go back to sleep—it was the cutest thing) and your baby was still soothed by Eddie’s remedies, letting out content coos as you changed his diaper and also got him ready.
After a quick trip to a music store downtown (and by quick you meant 45 minutes, Penny took delicate care in picking out another final gift for her daddy and told you not to rush her every time you’d ask her to hurry) and a stop at the flower shop, you arrived back home and it looked like Eddie still hadn’t stirred, which gave you time to make breakfast.
You’d sat Waynie in his high chair, gave him some cut up pieces of banana to gnaw on—which he did so as aggressively as possible—and went about making pancakes, eggs and bacon (which Eddie liked to devour until he felt ill).
Penny was of course your little helper, sitting on your lap while you assisted her with whisking the eggs in a bowl for Waynie’s scrambled eggs, and then perched on your hip to help you flip the pancakes. She’d insisted that Eddie’s pancakes all be heart shaped and you loved the idea, so after a couple of failed ones that would be on your plate, you eventually got it down and she wrapped her arms tightly around you in a hug for it.
Once breakfast was plated and the table was set, you gathered Wayne and the flowers while Penny carried Eddie’s decoy gift towards your bedroom.
Quietly, you opened the door and peaked in, smiling  at Eddie’s sleeping form.
“Okay, let’s go wake him up. Shh.” You propped the door open for Penny to slip in before you and she grinned up at you, using her free hand to hold her finger to her lips, she’d be quiet.
She set the rectangular box on the end of the bed and then climbed on top while you sat Wayne down on the bed.
He was just starting to crawl, so he very shakily made his way towards Eddie—face planting quite a few times but it didn’t deter your baby.
Penny looked back at you for confirmation and you nodded in encouragement. That was all the permission she needed.
“Daddy! Daddy, wake up! It’s daddy’s day! Wakey, wakey!”
She poked and prodded at his side when he groaned and shifted onto his back, eyes squinting open. That wasn’t good enough for her, she moved to sit on him and Wayne finally reached him, using his dad’s shoulder to prop himself up enough to sit back on his bum while he let out a happy shriek, chunky little palms slapping eagerly at his dad’s face to do the trick.
Eddie made a face, nose scrunching up but you could see the smile curling on his lips, dimples appearing.
“Okay, okay! I’m awake! Stop the assault!”
Penny laughed as he sat up, which almost sent her sprawling on the bed but she caught herself on his leg. Eddie tutted, that wouldn’t do.
Eddie reached out and pushed her off of him and she laughed hysterically as she bounced against the mattress which made the two of you chuckle. For some reason your daughter loved to rough house with him.
Penny didn’t stay down for long, quickly crawling back up to lay down along the side of his pillow and Eddie turned his head to look at her after he’d gathered Wayne and sat him on his chest.
“Happy Fodder’s Day, daddy. You aw the best daddy in the whole wide everywhere.” She whispered to him, very seriously, and he leaned in to give her a smacking kiss on the nose.
“Thank you, baby.” His voice was raspy but you could detect the emotion under it. Eddie was so gonna choke up.
“You wanna give him his present?” You prompted her, and Eddie’s head darted in your direction, grin widening at the sight of you in his favorite dress.
“Oh, yeah!” Penny scurried to the end of the bed and knee-crawled back to Eddie, hands outstretched to offer him the rectangular box.
“What’s this?” He asked, tucking Wayne into his side so he could grab the box.
“You gots to open it, daddy.” Penny demanded, eagerly leaning in to stare at the box while he did.
“Sorry,” you both traded looks of amusement before he took off the lid and moved the tissue paper aside to reveal a new guitar strap; black and decorated with crossbone skulls. “This is for me?”
“Yeah!” Penny nodded her head ecstatically. “Mommy lemme pickeded it out!”
“Thank you so much, little pretty one.” Eddie moved his hand to the back of his daughter’s curly little head to bring it in so he could press a kiss to her forehead, then he turned to the baby at his side. “And you, too!”
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to the sweet smelling curls on his baby’s head. In return, Waynie started gnawing on his arm.
You sat on the side of the bed and pulled him away from Eddie’s arm. Your son looked at you, affronted,  like you’d committed the ultimate crime until you held a pacifier to his lips. He eagerly gobbled it up and relaxed back against Eddie, once more content as he suckled.
“Penny, do you wanna go get the other thing?”
“Wha─?” She looked at you, confused for only a moment before her big brown eyes lit up. “YES, YES, YES!”
Penny quickly climbed off the bed and ran to her room, where you’d hidden it.
“What are you up to, trouble?” Eddie asked and you turned your head away from the doorway to find him looking at you, sleepy eyes clouded with love and affection as he reached a hand out to stroke along your exposed thigh.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You’re trying to make me cry again, aren’t you?”
“Not me, no way. No how.”
“I GOS IT, MOMMY!” Penny ran back in, chin raised to peak over the box she carried. It wasn’t too heavy for her, just big.
She brought it over to you and you handed it to Eddie before pulling her up onto your lap as you watched him unbox it.
“I wonder what it could b—.” Eddie’s mouth parted just slightly as he pulled a small amp from the box. It wasn’t just any amp. It was an amp you’d sneakily picked up from the music store last week—he had a ton of amps sprawled around the apartment but Eddie’s favorite portable one had recently gone out on him.
The amp itself would have been a fantastic gift alone, but you’d taken a few extra steps to personalize it for him. You’d painted the black amp with a solid red background and then let Penny and Wayne paint whatever they wanted on it.
Penny had gone all out, making sure to paint her family holding hands on it, along with plenty of depictions of her dad, one of which was him wearing a cape because he was her hero and since Wayne was too little to use a paintbrush, his little hand and foot prints were on it.
On one of the sides was your initials (last name replaced with an ‘M’ to represent the Munson name you’d taken on when you’d married him) + EM 4Ever, tucked into a heart with Cupid’s bow shot through it.
“SUPISE! D’ya like it, daddy? I drews on it, and it got Waynie’s feets and hans.” Penny looked so proud of herself, smile nearly taking up her entire face.
Eddie sniffled and you hid your grin in Penny’s hair. You got him.
He licked his lips and cleared his throat to try and keep himself together but you could see the shine in his eyes when he raised them.
“I love it so much, baby girl.” He choked out, holding Wayne a little tighter to his side.
“You wanna give daddy a hug?” You whispered into her ear and she crawled off your lap to throw herself at Eddie, arms wrapping around his shoulders.
Eddie was careful to make sure Penny didn’t squish Wayne as he held her to his chest, eyes squeezing shut and his freehand cradling the back of her head.
“I luh you, daddy.” Penny mumbled, resting her cheek on his shoulder.
“I love you, pretty Penny.” He pressed a multitude of kisses to her curls as he basked in the moment before his eyes shot open and over to you. “What are you doing all the way over there? Get over here and give me some love.”
You affectionately rolled your eyes before you complied, lifting Wayne out of his arms and into yours to take his place tucked into Eddie’s side. Eddie demanded kisses the moment you were near, and because you loved him, you ignored his god awful morning breath and let him have his way.
His lips remained pressed to your temple, an arm slipped around your waist so he could lift the skirt of your dress, fingers tracing the words I love you along your thigh as Penny explained all her paintings in great, excessive detail.
Later, when you were all at the table eating the breakfast you and Penny had made, Eddie could barely get a bite in without staring at you. Wayne was in your arms, face pressed against your breast as he nursed (always did it before he ate solids), while Penny babbled to you about how fun cooking with you had been and how yummy it was as you helped her scoop up her food on her little fork.
Eddie knew Father’s Day was a day meant to celebrate him and essentially all the other fathers of the world, but he’d much rather appreciate you. You’d given him Penny and Wayne; his sweet (usually) little girl and his baby boy. Without you, he wouldn’t be able to be a part of this day, really.
Eventually, you felt the weight of his stare and looked up at him, gaze inquisitive.
  “What?”
He just huffed out a gentle laugh, brown eyes warm and making a certain feeling stir in your belly, “Nothing. Thank you. For them.”
Eddie nods towards Wayne and Penny.
“Well, you definitely played a part in getting them here.” You mused, reaching a hand out to stroke over Penny’s curls.
Sure, you made them but it wouldn’t have been possible had Eddie not finished inside of you on a regular basis.
When you looked back at him, Eddie was smirking, his eyes were heavily lidded and darkening–his bedroom eyes. The warmth in them was simmering into something much more intense as he leered at you with absolutely no shame. Lustful.
You could feel yourself heating up, bashful nature hitting you full force as he nearly ate you alive with his gaze alone. You knew what was coming next, what he was about to say.
“Wanna make another one during nap time?”

“Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen… – Wait, no, no, no. A knight and a princess!”
You giggle, head tilting back against the pillows in delight, as Eddie’s plush lips brush against your skin, as delicate as clouds. He’s gazing at you from his spot by the foot of the bed, with those golden eyes and a dimply grin that rival the sunshine – a combination seen in your dreams, reflected on another tiny being.
“No, no, no, no, wait, no – a bard and a sorceress…” he winks as he puts on his raspy dungeon master voice and slyly raises his eyebrows.
“That’s more like it. Alright! – once upon a time, there was a bard and a sorceress, who lived blissfully in their cottage, far out in the forest that surrounded an ancient kingdom…”
Eddie’s murmurs wrap around your heart like the safest of embraces. His warm breath swirls among the broad expanse of your pregnant belly like the embers of a fire on a cold winter night; his curls caress the stretched skin, like petals falling on a soft bed of grass; his callused fingers trace the stretchmarks and sore spots reverently, trying to make up the outline of the baby that he imagines is sleeping soundly within you.
Your shared bedroom is bathed in mellow, honeyed light coming from the bedside lamp, as you lay among freshly washed sheets to relax you, and pillows that are perfumed with the heavenly scent of your and Eddie’s skin. You’ve got your t-shirt rolled up beneath your breasts, with your belly being warmed by Eddie’s cheek, which longingly rests there as he talks.
“The bard and the sorceress didn’t have much to their names, but they had love. Endless love.”
Eddie begins his tale, ever the storyteller, able to breathe life into entire realms in the spur of the moment. You grin as you imagine your child in the near future, being lulled to sleep as her father spins endless, magical adventures, just for her.
“The bard would sing as the moonlight shone under the sorcerer, who danced in the woods to the beat of the night. Together they created magic, their sounds of love made a symphony that rivaled that of the wolves and nightbirds. And from that magic, a little bud grew within the sorceress.”
Your eyes wander aimlessly all over the room, getting lost in the coils at the crown of Eddie’s head as you remember how all of this came to be. How the conversation of children had been had so long ago, only then it had been agreed that you’d wait until after you got married and had a little bit more to your name than a shitty apartment you could barely afford with Eddie balancing out his job at Thatcher tire and teaching music on the side, and you begging people to buy your paintings while you taught art at the youth center.
But, there was one day, when you just couldn’t pry your hands away from each other; when there came rounds and rounds and rounds of rough, primal, feverish need that left you both desperate and drenched, throbbing, aching, and hungry for more, more, more.
You were gonna have a child anyway, so why wait? You begged Eddie to fill you in the way no one else would ever do until you could feel his essence stuffing you to the brim, Eddie’s being making a home inside yourself.
As if that wasn’t enough, he filled you again the next day, onto the next week. It was unlike anything you’d ever experienced before. Those days, you were both so elated, feeling invincible and high without taking a single hit. It truly was like magic, which burst out with sparks the day you took that first pregnancy test and it came back positive.
“The sorceress saw the face of that little bud, as clear as day, in her cauldron of clairvoyance.”
You exchange a grin as you remember endless conversations before falling asleep, sharing how you were both so certain it would be a girl.
“...And I wanna name her Elizabeth, like your mom…” you had murmured so long ago, while tucking a lock of his hair behind his ear, your heart folding over the way his eyes teared up with gratitude when you said that.
He grinned through the rivers that traversed his cheeks, nodding as he looked up towards the ceiling. “Oh yeah? You’d do that for me? You’re gonna give me another little Lizzie Munson?”
And even through his cracking voice, he had poked your sides to tickle you so you wouldn’t call him out for crying – making you wrap your arms around him and kiss him silly until your tears were replaced with bubbling giggles.
“The bard wrote songs for it, lullabies to help it grow,” Eddie continues. “The sorceress prayed every night to the mother goddess of the woods, swearing the little bud would be named in her honor. All was well, all was right. Until a dreadful night when they were awoken by a banshee’s shriek. The bud was gone!”
Your fingers halt their caress around Eddie’s curls, as the memory never fails to make your heart shudder, as if out without proper cover on a cruel, arctic night. You hadn’t done anything wrong at all, and the doctors said it was normal for a first-time pregnancy. It didn’t make it any less tragic for you, having woken one night, to the horror of your bedsheets stained with blood.
“The bard and the sorceress lamented its loss for days and nights. What had they done? They had nurtured it with all the love in their bodies; the sorceress had woven garments to keep it cozy during the winter, and the bard wrote sonnets to make its mind spin like dandelions in the wind.”
When you came back from the hospital, you swore you’d honor the original plan of waiting until after getting married. You gave yourselves a whole week to just be sad, doing nothing but napping and staying in bed watching silly movies. You even started a little diary where you wrote the things you looked forward to doing with your child once they came back to you – first missing tooth, first trip to Disneyland, first words, first day of school…
Eddie grabs your hand then, recognizing where your mind had wandered off to, giving it three little squeezes – to signify ‘I love you’ without words. He stops his tale to give your bellybutton a little kiss, nuzzling his cheek against your skin and breathing in deeply, as if reassuring himself that those memories were a thing of the past.
That the present was far more beautiful – kicking his face and making him snort and chuckle, saying “Alright, alright, you want your papi to continue, I get it!”
You laugh brightly, and resume your toying with Eddie’s hair as he clears his throat exagerateddly before continuing.
“In their period of mourning, the sorceress sought answers from her cauldron, and was soothed by the revelation she came upon. There in the iridescent liquid, the face of the bud became clear again, enveloped by tender, wise hands. A whisper came in with the gust of wind entering through the opened window. It was the mother goddess! whose soothing voice assured the sorceress that their little bud would be safe with her – that she would take care of it until the time was right for it to rejoin the couple. Many spring suns rose before the sorceress felt the kick of life within her once again, growing stronger each day, with the blessing of the mother goddess.”
“ – and you know who that is?” Eddie breaks the narrative to speak directly to the baby that’s been kicking eagerly through the rest of Eddie’s tale. He taps his finger gently to the spot that seems to jut out with each kick, with a goofy lovesick grin on his face. Still amused as hell because he says it looks like a scene from Alien.
“That’s you, baby!” You double over in laughter when he blows a raspberry to your belly, retaliating all the kicks he felt against his cheek during your tale “That’s you, my precious girl!” he coos between snorting chuckles and tickles that make you both roll around in bed.
“-- Stop, stop stop!!” You wheeze as you try to push Eddie away from you, making him redirect his attack to the side of your neck.
He fits himself behind your body, with his arm all snug around your belly until your laughter dies down, to the gentle rhythm of his hand rubbing circles along the shape of you, and those dewdrop kisses that turn into gentle licks that have you sighing contently, melting into the bed.
Only Eddie could have you swooning with innocent tenderness one moment, to then have you gasping for breath the other, as his hand trails over your curves and his palm squeezes your breast. He lets out a soft groan every time, delighting in the way they feel heavier in their palm, way more sensitive as his thumb lightly fondles your throbbing nipple.
“What say thee, my beloved sorceress, wanna make more magic tonight?” You can’t help but chuckle and blush over such a corny line delivered so seriously through that low growl coming right from Eddie’s chest.
“You’re so stupid” You playfully push his face away from your neck just to egg him on, and he gladly takes the challenge, encasing you in his arms and kissing you all over like an overeager puppy.
And what could you say? It takes a certain kind of magic to transform laughter into whines of pleasure, to cries of newborn life.
That’s what you ponder, a month later, gazing tiredly from your hospital bed to the sight beside you. Eddie rocking your baby in his arms, with a grin as luminous as the moonlight.
He’s kissing Elizabeth’s delicate head, whispering the continuation of The Bard and the Sorceress.
