Sorry this is from the Annoying app but I do enjoy I can do cool time lapse things of my crochet
The pattern for this is out now on my Etsy btw if you wanna make yourself one
She's also available via Hobbii which gives 100% to designers so that's another swag option :^) it's also where i get all my yarn for my parasols, srsly cannot recommend Sultan enough
Another edit: I’ve made a Patreon if you want to support my designing endeavors. I have a lot of complicated clothing I want to grade the patterns for but it’s a lot of work so I needed some way to financially justify that. So yeah, if you like my work and want to chuck $3-$5 at my face every month to support it, that’s where you can do that
🌸🧶

Another one down. I should get a photo with all of us and our parasols one day (when we're in the same state again).

I've been working on crocheting a highly textured, multi colored parasol, and I've still got at least another week or so of work to do before I call it good, but tonight it was finally big enough to get loops around the spokes of the umbrella frame.

Lace parasols baby!!
These were all made using sock weight yarn with different vintage doily patterns that called for actual thread. I then took children's umbrellas that I got for cheap and just hot glued the crocheted bit on. Definitely not the sturdiest, but that didn't really matter because these were for a window display.
[Image description:
Image 1 is a hot pink parasol with a double pineapple design, with four pineapples in the center and 4 more around those.
Image 2 is a bright blue parasol with a flower design in the middle and two more solid rings going out towards the edge in between netting.
Image 3 is a cream colored parasol with pink and green spotting. There is solid in the middle, a gap ring and then eight large leaves. In between the leaves at the edges are 4 smaller leaves. /end id]

When Your Bikini Top Goes Loose
The Spider Society is hosting a beach party and you were invited. It was supposed to be a nice sunny outing with your lovely boyfriend, until an accident occurs with your bikini top…BASICALLY the stereotypical anime beach swimsuit trope. How would the boys react?
Miles
Tries to block the view with his body because he doesn’t want anybody else to see his girlfriend in such a vulnerable state, but his skinny stature doesn’t help, especially if you’re on the thicker side.
“O-kay! Everybody turn around! Just a little outfit malfunction, nothing to see here!”
Probably draws more attention by opening his mouth, but he didn’t mean it. Very protective boyfriend. Webs a random beach towel from the ground (apologizes later to whoever it belonged to) and hands them to you. He will help you hold it up while you fix your outfit malfunction. Very awkward but respectful. He would try to act cool and indifferent, but his mind is running 100 miles an hour.
99% chance he’ll get jealous and put off if someone saw you. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell it’s bothering him. If you ask him about it to tease him, he’s going to deny it to his grave.
Hobie
The most chill when it happens. Doesn’t get possessive if someone saw your chest since he’s a believer in normalizing public nudity, but will shoot web on their face if they were ogling or making you uncomfortable. The man just quietly saunters over to not make a big scene and helps you out. Afterwards he’d joke that his hands will be more trustworthy for your chest.
To make sure that the bikini bra doesn’t go loose again, he makes it more secure for you with his spiderwebs. 100% full proof and the bikini won’t ever go loose again.
“Okay, give a little twirl for me now. Damn, absolutely stunnin’.”
Gives you a little slap on the butt and a kiss on the cheek. Doesn’t care if anyone else sees.
Pavitr
As the ever observant boy that he is, he notices it going loose even before you. Quickly used his webs so that it covers your chest on time.
“Ay, that was a close one! Good thing your amazing boyfriend was there to help you!”
Might get creative when he’s tired out from swimming and playing volleyball, and starts crocheting you a bikini outfit while you’re laying on him. According to him, he’s a “talented, amazing, super cool, handsome” boyfriend like that. He’ll use your favorite colors and even asks you what type of design you’d prefer.
Miguel
Doesn’t have the spidey-sense to notice your bikini top going loose before it’s too late. His eyes instantly scan the area, landing on a few spider people that fervently shake their head in denial of seeing anything or acting like they were distracted.
Holds you in his arms bridal style, ignores you telling him to put you down, and takes you to the beach bathroom where you can fix your top.
He acts standoffish when you come back, and he would give you a half-baked answer if you ask what’s wrong. You get your answer when he starts to act clingier and protective over you. You catch him glancing at your bikini top’s strings several times to make sure it doesn’t go loose again and when you suggest doing anything physical like swimming or volleyball, he gets skeptical.
“What’s wrong with reading with me under the parasol? …dios, I’m just too worn out to go back into the water…(sees you running back to the water)…ay coño (chases you).”

I need to see it immediately.
Where is Susan, our grandmother, and we are her grandson/granddaughter
Give this woman love!!! 💗💗
What sweet nonsense is where the reader spends time with his grandmother
Good evening my dear! I am SO GLAD Y'ALL WANT SUSAN CONTENT LIKE I DO, I ADORE Susan, I think this counts as a drabble? Anyways I added a sprinkle of angst, definitely differs from my Susan & child/nibling reader headcanons but we're not gonna talk about that, anyways I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Grandma Susan
Warnings!
Cannibalism, and Susan
Down in Cannibal town lived a pair of a cranky old lady and her grandchild,
Her old lady babysitting may or may not have been picked up off the streets grandchild,
You see your grandmama Susan was a MENACE TO SOCIETY, to be fair she earned it, she went through life in the 1800's but that's not an excuse for her smacking people she didn't like with her cane, or cursing them out,
the majority of the cannibal town residents were excused, as they were a tight knit community and Susan was, somehow, respected
only a few unlucky cannibalistic souls were smacked harshly with the cane.
You were dubbed the Susan handler at some point by Rosie so whenever Susan was Susan-ing you were called to calm down your dearest grandmama, it did come with the risk of getting gently smacked with the cane but you didn't particularly mind it, the most you said to do was calm her down and offer to get her some tea and pray that she would quit cursing at random overlords and the princess of hell.
But caring for your elderly grandmama wasn't all chaos and fearing for her life, you did have bonding moments, such as now, your grandmother much like many old people liked knitting, mainly because she could stab someone with the needles if needed, you on the other hand preferred crochet. [Spreading my crochet propaganda]
It was days like this you adored, acidic rain pouring outside, the radio playing some type of classical music, you sat cozily in the couch listening to your meemaw Susan ramble on about kids these days and how back in her day they were more respectful or whatever, or maybe drop lore about how she was involved in supporting woman's rights movements from the shadows, maybe how when she was alive she did this or that while she knitted a throw pillow,
You'd get her nagging at you about how you should hurry up and get hitched, although she didn't approve of anyone for her dear grandchild, secretly afraid of the day you would finally grow up and move away from her, leaving her alone, sure she had the cannibals but they weren't her beloved grandchild,
She'd never tell you that though, but you knew, after all you were closest to her, and frankly you weren't planning on leaving her anytime soon, even if you did you wouldn't go far.
Or the days where you'd cook together bonding over her teaching you how to make cannibal meat loaf, or you grilling a sinner thigh during the summertime outside, with Susan under an umbrella going on about something.
Specifically winter holidays of gifting your Nana Susan something you made like a blanket or something you saved up for like a parasol,
She'd make a comment about it but would use it all the time, after all actions speak louder the words,
She'd give you something expensive that you mentioned in passing about liking, waving off your excitement by saying she got it last minute like it hadn't been hidden in her woredrob for the past two months.
Birthdays with her were bittersweet, they were a sign that you had survived another year in this hell, that you both were growing older and older, how long it had it been since you were alive? You'd bake her favorite cake, pick up pinkie fingers, and get her something nice,
She'd order a cake for you, cursing at the poor employee to make it perfect for her grandchild, she'd buy you a set of pearls or some type of jewelry.
You'd sit down Infront of her rocking chair and place a brush in her hands asking her to brush your hair, no matter the length {unless your bald then I guess she's brushing your scalp? With a soft brush}
You curled into her arms, it was after the extermination, Many Cannibals were lost, friends you had known for ages gone just like that, she couldn't say anything, no snappy comment, no words of comfort, she could only watch as you sobbed into her, the only thing she could do was pat your back until you were smoothed to sleep.
You woke up the next day with warm soup on the stove and a blanket on you with Susan snoozing away on her old wooden rocking chair.
Actions speak far louder then words.
Your grandmother was cranky, grumpy, had zero fear towards death, she cursed like a sailor and she had a soft spot for you,
And you wouldn't have it any other way.
Tumblr media
SUSAN SUPREMACY, also I switched around calling her Nana and Meemaw Susan because she wouldn't have just the classic grandma Susan,
Anyways I got one more Susan request and part two of Eldritch horror reader coming up so tune on in for that! Have a wonderful evening everyone!

I finished a massive project today - a gradient crochet parasol. I honestly can't believe that I made it, and I have a blemish with no makeup on - excuse my current insane artist lifestyle. It's for a friend that I love with everything. 🖤

any headcanons for Yuko?
Y’know what I have more than a few thoughts about her and it’s been a while since I’ve done something like this but:
A HC list but it’s just Yuko
-Even with the flipdeck, I still feel Yuko could be related to Emmlette in some way, either as a little sister or maybe just close friends
-Yuko grew up in Sakura Bay at first, but then moved to Tastyville to start her business
-This is more about Espen but I feel he had a wife prior to Yuko
-Besides resolving problems with the apartments, Yuko would also have the tenants association help out with community events like festivals or fairs and such
-Though she is well respected as head of the tenants association, some people find her to be a bit stuck up and passive-aggressive despite her politeness
-She is biracial, her mother being Japanese and her father being of German descent
-Pickle was a stray Prudence brought in one day. At first Yuko disapproved of Pickle since Prudence didn’t talk to her or Espen about having a pet, let alone one from the street, but she quickly also grew attached to Pickle, and even helped Prudence train her
-She has a record player at home she plays music on. She’s a frequent visitor of Hugo’s Warped Records surprisingly, but only ever looks for older or more vintage music (she doesn’t mind modern music, but it feels odd to her to play a modern-sounding song on a vintage record player)
-She’s skilled at playing the piano and has even taught Prudence how to play it. She even taught Prudence a special lullaby her mom used to play her to fall asleep at night
-Yuko’s shop, “Lovely Leftovers” has a lot of nice items, but not everything can get sold. There’s a distinct emerald necklace shaped like the moon which has never had a permanent owner for more than a week. And whenever it’s returned, the buyer always seemed a bit… disheveled. Hm…
-The main parasol she carries around was a parting gift from her parents which came in a care package
-She likes board games like chess and checkers
-She’s the only one in her family who tends to go to bed early. She’s also a heavy sleeper, though despite that she moves around quite a bit in her sleep
-She’s straight but is trying to be an ally. It took her a while to catch onto to the fact that Mary and Sue didn’t move in together as really close friends, but when she did find out, she knitted them a really long rainbow scarf they could wear together (because gay people like rainbows right?)
-She knows how to knit and crochet, mainly clothes and blankets. She always knits winter sweaters for her family every year
-Her favorite type of books to read are historical fiction and romance novels. She’s also a fan of poetry like Edger Allan Poe
-Likes collecting jewelry like necklaces and bracelets
-Is the type of mom who basically hoards most of what her children make like drawings or letters and such. They’re all precious to her
-Uses a Polaroid camera to take pictures with, and keeps them in a family photo album
-Her main love-language is gift-giving. Sometimes randomly she’ll give people little gifts like trinkets, baked goods or snacks, or any extra money she has
-She’s a sedimental person. If she likes you enough and you give something to her, she’ll keep it forever, no matter how much it costed

I am once again going to give myself too much to do... So I've just been invited to a coworker's for a little get together this Saturday before she has her baby, and another pregnant coworker will be there. I've made hats for one but not the other so now I'm going to hurriedly make the second set of hats. It will be fine though because one will be my fave hat pattern that I make all the time, and another will be crochet so hopefully quick.
Never mind I've already said I'll help out with a charity crochet project for Wednesday. And I have to finish painting an umbrella frame for a crochet parasol wedding gift for next Wednesday...
I mean it's all possible but I don't make life easy for myself do I?

I made a mockup for my parasol so I could check the size of the lace when it's stretched out and everything fits like expected! I'm looking at an olive green fabric for the finished parasol in either satin or taffeta.
If anyone has experience with making parasols I'd love some input on what fabric would work best
Pattern use (I modified it to fit my frame):
Parasol frame (I got the adult frame with a straight handle):
