Thinking about appreciating Preston again.
Tumblr media
[ID: A simple coloured digital drawing on a beige background of Preston Garvey from fallout 4. He is half facing right and smiling happily as someone tells him “Amazing work as always Preston!”, he has the three yellow cartoon joy dashes to the right of him. Preston is shown from the chest up and is wearing his beige cowboy duster, turquoise scarf and his iconic brown minuteman hat and radio. Preston and the text are in a blue thought bubble originating from a navy blue T51 power armour helmet that is at the bottom of the page. The helmet is messily drawn and has a small white minuteman logo on the upper right side, and orange hoses. The wearers eyes closed peacefully behind the dark green visor. There is a pink heart next to the helmet. In the bottom left corner of the image is the text “typos daily sketch: Sun 7th April ‘24, happy healthy Preston!” End ID]

Steph’s Mom
So Solomon Lauter probably sacrificed his wife to the Lords in Black, right?
All the Starry Children lore aside, Solomon’s scenes in Act Two of Nerdy Prudes tell us several things: Solomon believes that certain problems can only be solved by asking the Lords in Black for help, he knows that help comes at a huge price, and that the last time he had anything to do with the Black Book things went so painfully that he refuses to so much as touch it again.
Put all this together, and it seems highly likely that Solomon Lauter made his own deal with the Lords in Black, probably around 2005 when the book first came into his care. But what was his price? What do you want, Solomon? The things he seems to cherish—power, respect, influence—are all very much still in his life. But he doesn’t have the mother of his child. So she was the sacrifice. And Steph is forever a reminder of that guilt and loss, which could go some way towards explaining his behavior towards her.
This also adds an additional layer to the Lords in Black sacrifice sequence in Nerdy Prudes. While the Lords in Black are perfectly willing to accept a sacrifice from any of the three teens, they angle extra hard for Steph to shoot Pete. And yeah maybe that’s so Tinky can put him in the Bastard’s Box, or because murder is always best, or simply because Steph is the teen doing the most talking. But maybe it’s also because they enjoy the idea of a pattern—generations of Lauters summoning them to sacrifice someone beloved, Steph unwittingly putting Pete directly in her lost mother’s place. The Lauters summoned them once, now the Lauters have summoned them twice….
(Also how poetic would it be for Steph and her father, despite their many differences and conflicts, to have ultimately made the same decision? Though of course Steph was lucky enough that Max and Grace intervened.)
But this does raise the question—What was Solomon’s deal? What would he have sacrificed his wife for? His position of power? He seems far too worried about losing the election for that to be the case.
(The timeline on this doesn’t really work because there’s a lot between 1979 and 2005 to account for and we have no real record of ghosts wreaking Max-level havoc for 25 years, but I keep coming back to the fact Solomon knows a lot in particular about the Waylon curse and how to stop it. And if nothing ever truly dies in the Waylon House, then where are the Waylons themselves? The obvious answer is that Miss Holloway did them in back in the 80’s… but still…)
And did he make that sacrifice in all the timelines? Or just in the ones where Holloway died and wasn’t around to have the book? There’s no mention of Steph’s mother in Nightmare Time, implying that the answer is the former. So who got the book from who? How do Miss Holloway and Solomon Lauter know each other?
Idk there’s so much to think about. It feels like we know so much and so little at the same time. Thoughts?

Nora: Okay, stop me if you've heard this one. If bluebirds have blue babies, and black birds have black babies. What bird has no babies?
Yang: Raven.
*Record Screech*
Everyone: (shocked Pikachu face)
Blake: That's it. (locks and loads Gambol Shroud) I'm going to go take care of some much overdue business, and then I'm dragging your ass to therapy.
Everyone: (watches as Blake storms out of the building)
Nora: ....The punchline was a Swallow...but that works too...
*Gunshots*

idk why but you reblogging that ask u did about Peppino performing for Brick reminded me, and I just NEEDED to share this silly idea but... Peppino gardening... just, like, garlic and tomato plants n stuff, it's cheaper than buying all the time, even if he's not exactly growing enough to make that much of a dent in his bills, it's about the PROCESS PEOPLE and just aekssf Peppino in his little garden tending to his little plants and some flowers, it started out as something to help with personal costs but now it's such a soothing activity it's his little zone and he tells no one about it and making a pizza with his own home grown tomatoes just hits different when he's in a real rough mood. just yeah peppino gardening...
WAUGH this is so cute omg…I cant see him growing TOO MUCH bc some veggies are so fucking delicate but garlic seems doable! Same with stuff like basil and thyme and oregano. Its not necessarily low maintenance but you dont need to constantly get expensive resources to maintain them. Maybe he uses SOME of it for his shop but i can definitely see him using most of it for his own cooking bc hes been doing it since he was young, way back when he was still living w his parents (and he just got the habit from them)
I hc him with a small house (that hes forced to use as collateral to keep the shop open) so like, he would definitely have the space to grow some other small veggies like spinach n tomatoes. With his shop failing miserably hes got Plenty of time to at least go out and make sure theyre not dying 😭 But i can see him making it look more lively postgame when hes got the proper funds to keep the shop open. Old man tending to his tiny little garden :) its mindless work really and it keeps his hands busy. When hes more used to Gus and Brick (and any company in general lbr) coming over to visit; Brick helps with gardening too; his hugeass Rat Hands can tear up at the soil way better than Peppino and his little trowel can. And w the shop doing well he can afford to take days off and even open later in the day so he has more time to himself to do other things (like tend to his tiny garden) (or maybe fucking sleep in for once)

Oof no need to do the man like that Akina🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ngl him pulling up in the hospital is kinda sus fr
Tumblr media
Akina is such a great brother 😊. I like him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s acting chill…with how sus he was being by pulling up at the hospital I was expecting something more nefarious.
Tumblr media
The aqua spirit bomb!
Anyway something that just occurred to me is that the emphasis on the Z in the name reminds me of GZ🤔. And Z is associated with Gyze who also has 6 servants representing each nation with special powers. Also there’s the very sus man in a kitsune mask who keeps insisting Akina should get eliminated. There’s something up here.
Crack pot theory time! Whoever wins the Holy Grail War will be possessed by Gyze or get affected by him somehow. I think the winner is going to be the white haired guy. He’s emphasized as being the fated one of nothingness which makes me think of the Void. He even lacks his own desires and would be proven to be a very powerful cardfighter after winning which would make him a perfect host. Because him and Akina are close Akina will try to save him and get killed or at least that’s how things may be supposed to go. I think the plushie’s true form is that of an apostle or Zeroth Dragon. I also believe the Fated One cards are linked to Gyze somehow. Gyze is mentioned by the lore despite D series likely being a different universe from og which makes me believe that he will return somehow.
Though to be fair I was predicting that the Void would return in Will+Dress and I was laughably wrong so who knows 😅.

I’m not usually one for fandom conspiracy theories but I’ve had a running theory since I watched most of episode one of Calamity a couple months back that Ludinus Da’leth is in the Calamity series but not as we or the people of Exandria know him
Most important is that my theory revolves around Nydas Okiro’s encounter with a young individual looking to get in on the ether exchange that Nydas and other members of the Circle of Brass and other individuals of the city were a part of. I wouldn’t have thought much about it except that Brennan doesn’t describe him at all which isn’t entirely strange but I do think he says this person is both male and elven and their name is Friend or something similar and they have some modicum of ranking in the city bureaucracy.
Now I don’t fully understand what the ether can and cannot do except that it is very powerful and may have been used in such purposes as extending the lives of certain individuals. It could all just be coincidence but I’m mostly certain that if Ludinus was actually present during the events of the Calamity, he would be this Friend person who is a young mage looking to get into the same kind of magic that he is known to partake in that has extended his life far beyond normal lifespans of elves. I’m also leaning on the name Friend is actually a fake name, and/or was his real name and that he discarded after the events of the Calamity and adopted a new identity whether it be the name Ludinus or not
I don’t actually expect this to happen or be revealed in anyway this is more me shooting in the dark kinda hoping something sticks but knowing more than likely it won’t. But it’s a fun crack pot theory I guess
