Chapter 4 of How To Solve A Murder In 20 Steps is out now on ao3! It's slightly filler but contains a joke that I am very proud of myself for (so ofc I gave it to Marls, the loml). Next chapter will fially have some Pandolily interaction, plus some Dorlene shenanigans.

(Not sure when I'l be able to have the next chapter out, my exams start in 9 days and I have a softball gameday coming up, but I'll do my best to write it as fast as I can so I can post it asap.)

Limits of bone and flesh construction theorems

Harrow can build entire skeletons from just fragments. She accomplishes that by making the already differentiated bone cells become less differentiated, and with that they can become the many types of tissues from the skeletal system. Her marrow soup plan worked probably because she could skip the step of reprograming the cells, and the reason is that there are adult stem cells in the marrow, that is, less specialized cells that can create all the bone tissues.

With the little we see of Ianthe doing flesh necromancy pre-lyctorhood, she needs to use samples of Babs flesh and blood (she bit a chunk of his hand). So I think it works in a similar manner to bone magic. That's also how Gideon could get her tooth implanted back by the nuns, they used flesh and bone necromancy to fix the root and tooth.

What they can't do is reprogram a cell and make it like a embryonic stem cell. That's why I think the embryos Mercymorn made (with necromancy) died.

annabeth’s knife being the weapon that killed luke and the fact that she kept using it would have been interesting to explore more, especially when she lost it in hoo. was she secretly relieved? did she mourn losing a last piece of luke? a symbol of his last selfless act, but also of his death?

percy and annabeth are most definitely the first of their friends to have kids, even though i don’t think they start until their mid-late 20s. in my opinion, i don’t believe many of their friends have kids. i just don’t think it’s super common amongst demigods, especially greeks and the more powerful demigods, since they have to deal with the most shit. so i think it’s always a little odd for demigods to see their friends have kids, especially if they are also demigods.

so i just know their friends are so amazed watching percy and annabeth be parents. like… imagine thalia, the girl who once watched out for and protected little 7 year old annabeth, seeing annabeth breastfeed her child? how weird would that be? and imagine grover, who’s been besties with percy since they were little grade school buddies, seeing percy rocking his baby to sleep? how weird would that be? seeing them changing diapers, doing tummy time with him/her, giving him/her bottles, etc. thalia, grover, leo, piper, rachel, nico, frank, hazel, even people like clarisse… it would just be so weird for them. amazing and beautiful, but weird.
