Little question: How do you see the relationship between the four Hollow Heads?

A little complicated ! in the fewest words possible

I like to switch up my headcanons for these guys cause theyre just fun to play with and different relationship statuses give a different perception to their interactions but the one(s) ive been mostly going off of is:

- They are not siblings, and the only thing in common in anything of similar regard is being made from the same creator

- They have a weird intrinsic connection with eachother, i like to call it soulmates but its not the same way as youd think. They take on features of the other(s), which ive shown visually through their eye colors

- Weird reincarnation bullshit atla style but not exactly because noone is dead for realsies. I think i best explained it in this post, however with the added addition that victim is NOT DEAD..so we just dunno whats going on orz

Now onto the specific pairings:

- Im a big fan of chodark so youd often see me draw em in a more romantic way, but i like em in whatever form they come in, the important thing is theyre fucked up together. They are crazy codependent, being the only company eachother have for like?? 8 years?? They drive eachother crazy and fight tons but theyre all they have so they still cherish their bond. Communcation skills 0. Dark is a lot more peppy about life, while Chosen's taken to sulking more often than not but he tries to cheer up for Dark's sake. They both have their problems, Dark still tries to attack Chosen on a regular basis because of his coding, and Chosen has been trying to recover from everything that happened from noogai's pc, they try to make it work 👍

- Countering the first point on this response,,, i like Chosen and Victim as twins,, i feel it adds a layer to their (what could be) relationship, sharing the same face, same woes with their origins, but turning out sososo different but still The Same. Makes me feel some typa way

- Victim and Second are sooooo special to me, i hope they interact in future episodes;;;; The first creation all jaded and wrathful about its creator, and rightfully so! Having been given the worst end of the stick while the other, the latest creation, young and hopeful, treated the best out of all his predecessors and given Everything that they never gotten. Victim is mad salty about all that and hugely envious, but hes more on exacting his revenge on noogai and making Second watch. In another world they couldve been friends, animating/drawing buddies perhaps...

- Chosen and Second ! Weve already seen what their dynamic is (or atleast in that specific situation) so ive not added more to it. Honestly been treating their relationship as a rebound from chodark,,,,,,, Yakno chosen just got out of the house to actually talk to other people other than Dark, finds a nice sunshiney stick to his dark and gloomy demeanor and things are good ! Their relationship could be something really special if they were to find themselves in a different situation than the one theyre in;;;

- I honestly do Not know what Victim and Dark would be like together other than the crackship of "evil girls who make out with eachother as their exes watch" but yakno ! Hollowhead Whore Saturday. Honestly it depends on what kinda villain victim is and how dark is like after getting her ass handed to her

- Weve seen Second and Dark but other than that i think if Dark were alive and got to hang out with the others and Second, she would be scared shitless of Second or Dark would act as a high and mighty bastard and Second gets a bit pissed off about her attitude at some point

This got a bit long but hrhrghrheh the hollowheads r so special to me,,,the one common thing about them is originating form the same creator and they all turned out so different and yet they have so many similarities between eachother hrhrgrhrggrhhrhr

@respectthepetty first off, that was an amazing deep dive, and I'm so glad that you're as obssessed with these characters as I am. Seriously, how is this show not completely taking over the minds of all BL girlies yet? Get on the clown train, people!

I agree that Lomfon is a fasicnating character, and also a wonderfully complex (pseudo-)antagonist in Patts-Tai storyline. Your analysis on Lomfon is spot on: he is logical, challenges the notion of soulmates and ponders its value over shared interests with the other person.

Soulmates in Rainverse and the analogy to Modern Love

As much as the show revolves around soulmates and the novelty of that experience in the show's universe, it also actively challenges the idea of soulmates and its meaning, via the failed marriage of Tai's parents and Lomfon.

No matter the relationship, there has to be something more than love, a connection, COLORS(!), or a shared condition. There has to be communication, understanding, a desire to stay, AND a desire to see the other person happy.

Yes to all of this. But I want to focus on a commentary in the show that might be subtle, but nonetheless discusses something that is equally important in any relationship.

There are plenty of moments in the show where the brief rain-inflicted hearing loss is framed as a disease and how it is endured by the people who are affected. This sentiment is also reflected by the characters who have the condition, whenever they discuss it on the show

But if we shift the focus to how the rest of the world treats this condition and how they respond to it in their everyday lives, a new perspective emerges.

When we see Patts' friends talking about his hearing loss, this is what they had to say

His friends are worried because they, for a brief period of time, are cut off from Patts and have to go through a extra hurdle to communicate with him at this time. They fear that him having this experience that is so foreign to them, something that they can never relate to, only sympathise with, is isolating Patts.

And when Patts and his gf were fighting, this is what she states as the breaking point

Her inability to share the experience of hearing loss with Patts makes her feel like an outsider. And on top of that, she knows that Patts can share his experience with someone, his soulmate. Even when he reassures her that he has no romantic interest, and that he only wants to talk to his soulmate because he doesn't want them to go through this experience alone, it is not enough to soothe her mind.

All these discussions make me wonder if the show is layering a subtext underneath the soulmate aspect of Rainverse: boundaries in relationships and navigating the reality of sharing a life with someone, who might sometimes have experiences away from you.

It is simply not realistic to spend your every waking moment with the people you love. The life experiences are not always the same, and sometimes, the experiences you want might not interest the other person. This doesn't mean that they are drifting away, it simply means that people have complex lives and multiple interests that doesn't need to be always aligned with their loved ones.

Lomfon and the folly of excessive logic

Yes, Lomfon is logical. He approaches the rain-induced hearing loss and its effects similar to how a scientist would do it: hard facts. And in result, he brings in some very valid arguments to the entire concept of soulmates.

But. But.

In having a one-track mind laser focused on challenging and disproving the soulmates theory, he has already failed at one of the most important parts of any relationship, soulmate or otherwise: open and honest communication. If we assume that Lomfon is the acquaintance who helped Tai through the difficult times of his parents' divorce, then he has established a communcation with Tai that is severely lopsided.

Also, given how he is already establishing himself as someone who has a lot of similar interests with Tai, he has immersed himself into the "must have common interests" part of the love equation, while fully ignoring the "must give them space to have differing experiences" part.

And this is why I don't trust him. I don't trust him to come to his senses quick enough before he causes a whole lot of hurt. I recently went down a Myers-Biggs personality test rabbit hole and I'm convinced that Lamfon is a INTJ (logical, plans ahead, heavy reluctance in acknowledging the intelligence of other people, difficulty in factoring in the feelings and emotions of the people around them into whatever calculation is currently running in their brain, etc). So when the tension in the group finally boils over, and someone (possibly Tien) sits him down to explain why his elaborate flowchart to win Tai's heart might not be his best idea, I'm afraid that he will simply stick his snob nose up in the air and ignore them.

I am aware that I'm watching a BL and so the chances of a genuinely sad ending is extremely low, and yet, whenever I see this boy, my heart fears.

The influence of social media on the intergenerational communication

In the current society, social media has become a very significant part of our daily lives, among younger and older generations. However, the approach and engagement each generation has to the internet and its digital platforms can influence their communication, consequently, increasing the intergenerational gap. To better understand the conflict arising from this generational conflict, it is necessary to comprehend how and for what means each generation uses social media in their daily lives. The communication gap is mostly caused by technologies, and social media, and how they are used. The advanced technologies development started in the early 2000s, which is also known as the start of the popularization of the internet and social media. The younger generation, such as Gen Z, has grown up in the digital world since they were born. For them, social media became integrated in their daily lives, but not because they chose this kind of lifestyle, but because they were never shown how to live without the use of it, there before it became the norm for them. Today's youth, according to the United Nations is defined as the transition age from childhood to adulthood, not only do they use social media mostly, for connecting and communicating with others their age, but they also use it for killing time. Social media for the youth would be the equivalent of playing outside, for the older generation. Due to Gen Z using the internet, on an average of about 7 to 9 hours per day, social media has become a significant part of the youth culture in today's society. On the other hand, older generations, such as the Millenials for example, were only introduced to the internet later in their life, as a result, they tend to use it less in their daily lives. They also use it in a very different way such as a source of information, like the news, rather than a means of communcation. They also spend an average time of less than 3.2 hours per day, which is less when compared to Gen Z average. Because younger generations often communicate only within their circles, there is a bigger tendency for them to develop their own slang and trends, as if their own language. The creation of new slang and trends among younger generations can also increase intergenerational miscommunication. It's important to state that every generation of teenagers have their own kind of communication and trends, but with social media, and because of how fast the information can reach people, it has increased, and became more exclusive and less explicit in today’s young generation. Because of how fast social media can spread information, their “newborn” language is always reaching new people in their generation. Since older generations often use social media as passive listeners, and not as a means of communication, under no circumstance does it become easier for them to create their own language, like the youth, neither is it to understand the youth language. Therebefore, older generations are constantly being excluded from social media, due to the fact that they don’t “belong” in the youth online world. When it comes to a real life situation, where there is the need for intergenerational socialization, the process of socialization becomes very hard for both sides, as if a gap is created between them. On a final note, how each generation interacts with the internet, for communication or for a source of information, and for how long they use it can, consequently, create a hard time for them when it comes to communicating with each other, whether it is online or in real life. The hard time they have communicating is the generation gap.

Since December 13, 2021, we haven’t had any planets in the “interpersonal” signs - Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio - just the Moon, sweeping through once a month. And I can argue that in all this time we’ve all been feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders (via so many planets in “transpersonal” signs, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) - which has been overwhelming, to say the least.

We also have been more focused on ourselves and our individual problems, as planets move through the “personal” signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer).

That’s all going to change during the five days which see Mercury, the Sun, and Ceres enter Leo (in that order). All of a sudden: “Wow! Other people exist! Oh brave new world that hath such people in it!”

This is great news - being balanced is (almost) always a good thing, and we’ve been missing the whole “interpersonal” piece for several months, except sporadically when the Moon is there. I think we’re going to be very excited and eager about it, too - at least to start with.

in an effort to understand her brother's lack of speech, mecha decided to allot herself a maximum number of vocalizations that day. two words before her quota of one hundred, she disabled her vocalizer - fortunately, not mid-sentence. she had already counted ahead with the expertise of a supercomputer to avoid this, for stopping a sentence would be highly inefficient of her.

when her comm link alerted her to an incoming call, she would answer it without a greeting. when another unit addressed her, she would point them in the right direction. she adjusted well to the new way.

and neo tilted its head to one side quizzically. asking silently, why are you doing this? mecha, in turn, pointed a finger at where their sibling's vocalizer laid, let it rest there for a long moment. neo's pressure sensors detected it immediately, causing them to tilt their head down to look - and suddenly it clicked. the words their sibling had spoken long ago.

i would like to understand.

neo went to sign its reply, but stopped - it knew just how much mecha desired to learn. to understand. though she could not always empathize with others as much as she liked, being able to understand her siblings was of the utmost importance to her, even if it was in her own, nonconforming way. so neo put its hand back down. perhaps the best way to explain how their lack of speech felt was to simply show his sibling.

neo gestured with a nod of his head. the brothers walked to the stairs in silence, towards the window of the second floor. neo climbed out, boosted itself up onto the roof, and then leaned down to offer its hand to its brother. mecha took it, allowing neo to use its endless strength to lift it up. sheer power used for making bonds rather than breaking them down. repurposed entirely.

they sat on the roof of their warehouse building, the one they called home, and let the stars bathe them in long-dead light. they sat quietly, merely listening. by not speaking, they could pinpoint every tiny, seemingly unimportant noise. the killing machines had no use for interpreting the sounds of a distant train, nor the stream that coursed through the earth with no language, beneath the quiet heaven above them. and yet, their priorities changed in that moment.

everything that once registered as useless to the killing machines had indeed gained meaning. importance. not just now, but long before. they taught each other to value life, to value each other’s gestures and unspoken words.

but, yes, the silence could be alienating. neo pointed to a flicky with dimmed optics, gesturing to it chirping away in a tree down below, and the two watched how the little bird invited its family to join it to perch. mecha consulted his databanks for information on bird communication. flickies in particular used singing, calls, squeaks, warbles, and clicks to communicate. the loud, carrying voices of the birds in the oak tree filled the cool night air. but as mecha observed, he pointed to an orange flicky that fluffed up its wings, its yellow patches of feathers growing out like fiery flowers - and it took off, bold wings moving in exaggerated slow motion, the red and yellow patches bursting from its feathers. this was a purely visual display. neo nodded in reply. indeed, not every flicky needed to speak to communicate effectively. that flicky was still a valued member of its flock.

mecha almost wanted to launch into a tangent about the differences between visual and vocal displays in the birds, but restrained himself. sound was a fantastic form of communcation for that species, for it could carry beyond where the birds could see. for a bird living in a thicket, it would help to use its voice to stay in touch with the members of its flock. mecha mused internally about how murderous machines like it and neo did not necessarily require use of their voices to survive, unlike the birds. there were no predators to sing about. they were the predators, in an animal-machine way. they watched, curious, as the flock took off into the night, shadowed against the moonlight as they left to find a more suitable nesting site.

looking up at the sky, mecha considered the spellbound moon for an hour. its silence, its borrowed sunlight, and the paradox of their closeness with their sibling, whom should have been long dismantled. this painful but amazing intimacy between two brothers. they had fought to shine on their own borrowed light, and when one of theirs went out, the other would hold a candle to guide them. neo pointed out the clouds as they blew across the moon, obscuring its bright light for a moment. mecha nodded. when one of their voices failed, the other could speak out for them in ways other than speech.

mecha started to understand it, then. neo had long since ceased looking for their voice. they did not want it for speaking with. rather, they made a ring of it, that their silence wore on its little finger. sometimes it would be used as a magnifying glass or a telescope. all the tiny, insignificant things of the world magnified.

the long silences needed to be loved, perhaps more than the words that could describe them. no, their silence wasn't about distance - it was closeness. a willingness to look deeper. a need to explore a world once placed behind shatterproof glass. they were never constructed to appreciate the world around them, and yet, they broke that expectation down with the same raw power that should have been destined to destroy.

mecha let their gaze fall onto neo's frame, searching for any quiet communication from them. she saw it when neo looked at her with bright, warm optics - a quiet love, a sincere adoration for a sibling. a wordless, “look at us. we are happy. do you see it?” mecha reciprocated by pressing his forehead to his brother’s. yes, they were happy.

neo had accepted their disability long ago. of course, it was isolating. of course, it was a struggle. nothing would erase that aspect of it. but neo had come to make the most of it. remote as the stars over their heads, yet as close as the two inches of space between them. the two words mecha had left needed not be used.

now... a theme to ramble about... maybe, friendship? im having some thinking about my close friends... bc one of them changed her view on things and she's more... idk living on the edge? she said something that it's on my mind for a long time and i feel kinda uncomfortable, but it's my fault too, i didn't open up to her about what im really feeling and i don't think she knows anyway...

i just avoid conflict to be honest and I think this time ill have to speak my mind, but i feel kinda pressure to do so

friendship hmmm i've also been thinking ab my close friends. if she said something that made you uncomfortable i think it's best that you talk it out with her, make sure both sides are heard and always know that communcation is very important!! with that being said, make sure you convey your ideas and actually process them, not just spit them out and create a false resolution. i avoid conflict too, but it's really important to communicate if this friend is very close to you.

a couple of years ago i was stuck with friends that didn't really fit with me; my old friends were too judgy and i didn't like being around people like that and couldn't really be myself. i distanced myself from them and ended up branching out, because of them i hadn't really done that much, and branching out led me to such amazing friendships. i think a lot of my current, stronger friendships are thriving bc i can express myself freely and not feel judged, and if i have a problem it's not hard to express--but also there aren't many problems bc my friends and i are pretty tight and connected.

i think friendships are really important becasue they can lead you to your platonic soulmates, twin flames, etc. i have a couple friends at the moment that I love so much, and i'm very grateful for them. little ramble: i think the purpose of life is to build great relationships--but with that being said it doesn't have to be romantic. I think platonic friendships are so so sos so important and it's very important to work out difficulties for people that are worth doing it for if ykwim.

friends are so important and imo, many people you build relationships can be much mroe valuable than family/blood ties.

For starters, a social media consultant must be creative. Creative is a broad term. They must be able to understand the idea of design and copyright when it comes to creating posts. As well as making sure the clients post are visually and aesthetically pleasing to keep the audience engaged. They should also be constantly thinking of ways the client can better there social media and grow their audience

They also must possess skills such as organization and time management skills, this is important so the clients posts can go up in a timely manner, make sure everything is done on time and there is a constant schedule.

Something else that is important is communcation skills. Not only communcation skills to stay in touch with the client and actively communcating with them to create content. But understanding what the audience wants to see and what kind of posts get the most engagement and listening to what the audience would like to see more of or what should be changed and done differently.

If I was acting as a social media consultant for myself the first thing I would do is create an account for my professional work. I love photography, it is something I have always wanted to do as a side hustle. I have created photography/professional pages in the past but I have never stayed consistent in posting on them. So the first thing I would do is hold myself accountable and continue creating professional content to grow a photography page. I personally believe that my personal accounts already have a "professional" feel to them with the content I post. I make sure my page looks visually and aesthetically pleasing. How to deliver a great EPC service

As a landlord I have had many EPCs since 2008 and I've had many, many bad experiences of trying to get one, so I thought I would put together a few things on how to deliver fantastic EPC service to others. This will also act as a good reminder for when I complete my EPC training next month. If you didn't know, I am training as an EPC assessor so I can try and offer a great service to other landlords!

Pricing

Firstly, you want to make sure that you have a website with transparent pricing information. The amount of people I've spoken to over the years and they've tried to quote me a ridiculous amount of money because they think I'm a posh landlord, is ridiculous. Quotes are very annoying, it's always better to have an upfront price so people know ahead of time what they are paying.

Booking

You preferably want to book in a calendar on a website, so there's no back-and-forth with dates. You can't always get through to someone if they are working, so it's frustrating having to text back and forth to book an EPC. If you have a calendar you can just instantly book, which makes it way easier.

Punctuation

This should go without saying, but punctuation is so important. The amount of times I've had an EPC booked in and the person has been one, two or even four hours late. I've obviously had some no-shows as well. Most landlords and property owners are extremely busy and keeping them waiting for even 10 minutes is not a good idea. They may have to be off at another property, at a meeting or travelling back to where they live. Time is precious to most landlords so don't waste it!

Communcation

Communication before the day is also very important. If you want the landlord to do certain things such as get certain documents ready, get the house ready in certain ways, you should let them know beforehand rather than turning up and saying "where are the documents" because they might not know what you're talking about as you haven't mentioned it! Obviously I not know this after doing it so many times, but for the first two I had, everyone was asking for different things and I didn't get any communication upfront.

Report

Finally delivering a timely report is very important. People may have houses to sell, or tenants to move in and need to get the report quickly. It's not acceptable to be waiting five days to get the report back, it should be done within 24 to 48 hours. Obviously if it's communicated clearly on the sellers website that it will take three days, then that's okay, as the buyer can go elsewhere, but I've had it a few times now where are you told it will take 24hours but has taken up to a week.

Look The Part

Finally, it's always important to try and look as professional as possible. I've seen a range of people turn up over the years from wearing scruffy clothes, to a smart suit. You always make such a better impression if you turn up wearing something smart, it looks more professional and you instantly think, "this person is going to do a good job". Dress smart, people!

#im.. not depressed??? consistently for the past month???? #several things i can attribute this to but #holy. shit #1. cutting out drugs n alcohol #2. being on top of my uni shit ( which i have been on top of this whole term but like #that means thats 1 less stressor) #3. govt paying 80% of my wage as a furloughed worker #4. modafinil... i dont wanna be dependent on it but like. extra dopamine as a reward for getting shit done has actually been helpful in #cementing that pathway in my head that being productive=good on days when i dont take it #5. good ass weather. sun i love you spring i love you so much #6. getting daily exercise (my state allowed one walk a day) as well as having set up a solid routine of things to do every day #7. even w the distance and less communcation than usual #i feel more secure in my relationship w this guy. idk if hes my bf he probably is #8. establishing daily-ish communication with several people so that i dont feel super extra lonely #9. v important one to me #ive been helping out once in a while donating to artist friends n delivering food to vulnerable ppl without charging / not charging as much #as i paid. also buying food for the homeless ppl i see when im doing food shops. helping others is a really really good way of feeling #useful and good about your place in the world and like. ive been super lucky in this crisis and others have not been as lucky as me so i #definitely want to do my part as a financially stable healthy person who is no longer spending most of her income on drugs/alcohol
