Random TAG rewatches yield peculiar details to ponder. Ring of Fire: it's specifically pointed out the Hood was testing the waters whether the World Council was prepared to sell out Thunderbirds. And they were! Makes me wonder how precarious that power balance really was and still is after Jeff's return. What if another bad guy gets the idea to take the world hostage in exchange for Thunderbirds? How could that be enforced? GDF shows up on Tracy Island doorstep and comandeers the birds at gunpoint? How private really is the IR project? They operate under the auspices of GDF, kinda, but that has to do with access and security worldwide, mostly. Now, the political side of things is interesting? Does World Council have enough sway to direct IR to certain rescues or restrain them from a rescue (if there's something to cover up - the nuclear plants especially are interesting in this respect, a conflict of interest or political power play)? Papa Jeff apparently was in the big political leagues, when he started the IR project. What about Scott?
