Conventions & Kickstarter

Tomorrow is my first convention in a long time, well not really, I've done Power-Con a few times, but this is the first convention focusing on the writing world of Josiah. When I did Power-Con I still sold my Comicollage artwork, something I have taken a break from doing and something I don't really care to do again. I enjoyed it, but don't find I need to make them anymore. I'd always be happy to make one as a gift or per a commission, but as a side hustle, it's run its course.

I have done LA Comic Con a few times, back when I had my own comic company/film festival. The focus was mainly on my comic book collages, as that made the money (not much, but more than the massive debt from the other company).

Speaking of money, I don't expect to make a ton, my goal is to focus on promoting me, Josiah, or Josiah is Write I suppose. To help grow my YouTube audience and community around my writing. It's a marketing expense as much as anything else.

All that said, I need to make some money so this can at least pay for itself. I've invested my entire life into my writing and creating and hope that it can pay the bills for my family. The first step is Young Zombie, a small Kickstarter for a project I created back in the days of my old company.

This is a bit all over the place, but I'm fine with that. I have been lapsing on my journaling and writing these (almost) daily this week has filled that void.

This is a hard one to share. My friend Ned Vizzini was a brilliant writer and was actively helping me in my writing career (over at @josiahiswrite ). Ned wrote a letter to Marvel in the early 90s talking about how underrated Moon Knight was. It was published. I found the comic and surprised him with a collage featuring the letter and the issue of Moon Knight it was published in. In a bittersweet twist of fate, the last time I saw Ned was at a Comic-Con.
