Dans le cadre de la commémoration du 80ème anniversaire des débarquements, notre association historique a le privilège d’organiser une série d’entretiens vidéos avec Michel Schepers, ancien professeur d’histoire-géographie à l’établissement scolaire Notre-Dame de France à Paris 13ème.

La première vidéo de cette série fascinante d’entretiens sera consacrée aux réseaux de résistance et aux différents maquis qui ont joué un rôle crucial pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Michel Schepers, avec sa profonde connaissance historique et son expérience dans le domaine militaire, nous guidera à travers une présentation de ces réseaux de résistance. Il explorera les différentes régions de la France où les maquis ont opéré, mettant en lumière leurs contributions héroïques et leur impact sur le cours de l’histoire.

L’entretien offrira des perspectives uniques et des précisions captivantes, enrichies par les connaissances de Michel Schepers, qui apportera une dimension unique à cette période cruciale de notre histoire.

Nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous pour cette première vidéo, qui constituera le point de départ d’une série d’événements commémoratifs à ne pas manquer.

Thinking about the general hypocrisy of "might/muhrit makes right" characters, I noticed something.

Ashnard brags about his vision to Ike'n'pals and dies to someone who is stronger than him, so in his mind, strength > everything :

Ashnard: I do. Oh, how I do… It’s true. The world may be destroyed by the coming of the dark god. Then again, it may not. I question the way in which our society is designed. No matter what strength a person has, it is the station he is born into that controls his destiny. And you cannot control where you will be born. Do you believe that a person of low birth should simply endure the curse of his station? I think not. If you are stronger than those around you, you should benefit from your strength. This is why I will use my strength to remake this world. Class and rank will not matter. Human and sub-human will not matter. The strong will possess everything. The weak will submit to their will. Is this not the meaning of peace?

But isn't the biggest slap in his face the realisation that the man who was behind him and played him, at least for this war, like a fiddle, was the weakest subhuman ever, a heron, who even lost his magical subhuman powers?

Might makes right and all, but who is the last man standing in this entire mess?

A powerless heron.

In a way, Ashnard himself, unknowingly, submitted to the will of that heron, who was willing to rob everyone of their everything.

Just for shit'n'giggles, I wonder what would Ashnard have to say if he ever realised, or maybe had a FB in FEH, that Sephiran, a powerless heron, had been the one who instigated his war, his "discovery" of the medallion, was one of those weaklings he loathed and wanted to submit.

Oh well.

#Tellius stuff #It's always hypocrisy because those characters saying strength matters more than anything else #always deal first with the beings who are stronger than them either by trickery or attacking them when they sleep #Nemesis deboned a sleeping Sothis and targeted a bunch of villagers to slaughter them all instead of having the great 1vs1 FD duel #Rhea gave him one and he died though #Ashnard lure Rajaion with bby Soren and used Izuka's funky potion on him #but if it was all about strength Rajaion by virtue of being Deg's son would have flattened him #Supreme Leader uses uncle's beasties to defeat Rhea or has her outnumbered and targets non combattants #so Rhea has to either flee or be caught by Uncle #it makes me think of Bleach's Nnoitra #who's super proud of his strength and all #but is really pissed when anyone reminds him that he defeated Neliel thanks to Szayel's tricks #so how is this supposed to show your strength/muhrit over the one you defeat?#random stuff

kinda drives me up a wall when people go "hey i think x action in a war/combat scenario is inhumane and cruel and shitty" and someone responds with "oh but within the laws of war it's allowed or there's procedure for it etc etc". it doesn't have to be a war crime to be unforgivable man it's a shitty rulebook anyway
