saturday april 27, 2024 ~ 3 days til the last class meeting of my undergrad career .. 7 days til commencement .. (and probably like 2 weeks until I actually finish and turn in my capstone paper looool)

i have eaten so many gas station breakfasts the past week, and drank so many different coffee, and sat in so many different chairs... but it's nearing an end..

with two friends today on the campus library (two of us in the same major and graduating this week, the other graduating the fall but currently finishing a ~very~ full semester of classes.. idk how she does it!)

I lost a day of writing yesterday bcuz i agreed to work as script supervisor on a student film set, which was incredibly fun and a great experience! But a very long day nonetheless..

I woke up 15 minutes before i had planned to be on campus this morning, and then proceeded to have an incredibly chaotic morning that ended with me arriving on campus nearly 2 hours after my originally planned time 🥲 but was greeted by the beautiful faces of my friends and an iced coffee, which immediately improved my mood (of course)

will probably take monday off from work... i can't really afford to lose any more hours, but im incapable of getting anything done after work on the days that I do, and with everything im trying to complete, i think giving myself another day is the best option..

im just trying to stay strong and hopeful! im almost done!!

Love the economy. There's literally no jobs in my field within an hour and a half drive, everywhere I've applied is like "we don't have funding but if you want to do something nonpaid--" :^)

i did it! I'm back to being caught up in the anime!

#managed to do it in about a month #while also spending time studying [comma] juggling a fuck ton of social stuff [comma] taxes [comma] full time job #and a fuck ton of other things while maintaining a reasonable sleep schedule #and also reading about a case a day in japanese in the manga for the conan reading club #which takes time and effort but my reading is improving #anyways if this were me in college this wouldve been easy #cept during capstone hell #but now?? actually kinda impressed i did it #anyways have one more ep Saturday before the movie might try to catch it live! #dcmk #Detective Conan #surpringly I hadn't gotten behind where i read in the manga which was nice! I think i even have a case to spare

i think my favorite thing about Florence and The Machine's way of talking about women is that. it's just so real. like? she's able to get straight into the center of my soul and then move out of it again very quickly. i think it all comes back to that line in "King" that goes A woman is a changeling, always shifting shape, just when you think you've got her figured out, something new begins to take because i genuinely think being a woman entails a GREAT deal of constant change. i think it's one of the ways we're very different than men and i think it's brilliant. we can never even really know what we are. we just are... women. that's it. that's the whole sentence. what that looks like is different based on the day and on the hour and our hormones and what we've decided we want to think about and the way smiles feel on our cheeks. idk. there's something so special about that line in that song. i can't get away from it.

#peach stuff #i was supposed to work on my final project for my english class today and i didn’t #but i wrote a page and a half yesterday. gonna spend all of tomorrow workin. so . maybe it’ll be alright. who knows. #i have a full unit assignment due a few days after American thanksgiving that i haven’t started i don’t really know what’s going on there #presumably i’ll have that done by next monday #next friday i have my capstone (thesis? end of major project?) presentation that ive invited my family and my teacher that I’ve been #showdowing for the past year. as well as all of my professors. so presumably it has to be good #and good god all my shit is catching up to me. i don’t really have much of breaks. but i am taking breaks anyways to get drunk. #god . college life is so fucked up #go to college but also keep your expectations for it normal. you’re not going to do more #(unless you’re not for sure neurotypical in which case. have fun) #but if you’re neurotypical or undiagnosed. be sure to pack coping strategies or learn new ones #because holy fuck. goddamn. .i have not beeen doing well #anyways goodnight unless i say something else . in which case who gives a fuck. #just . don’t ever listen to me. that’s the lesson to be learned #goodnight

#this is just me spitballing here - #definitely need to take the security related classes that i want to do and even if i did dogshit at databases i still want to take the next #-class in the series bc i heard its more programming #also maybe the instructor won't suck that was a huge part of it #and im dropping data science im sorry i can't do algos i can't do machine learning. fuck cs theory im not into that. #but the question now is - do systems (which would give me a leg up in the security track) or do animation capstone (which is cool) #downside of systems is that theyre some of the hardest programming classes and i have to do group projects #downside of animation is that i missed the ball on most of the stuff and its a lot of classes in a sequence. also group projects. #(or neither and fuck off and do the global health minor or take english/art/architecture/philosophy classes just for fun idfk) #the stem major's curse #the last humanities option is looking nice rn maybe i can also take a bunch of public health stuff too #i actually kind of want to enjoy college even if im a commuter with no friends #hm ok i will go look for some classes later today #the data science stuff really screwed me over im glad im free of that at least #milk (normal) #i am kind of the ''mid at everything'' guy so no specialization for me or else i get bored and start attacking myself with hammers #and i change my mind about who i am and my personality every few months so thats really fun to deal with.
