(Context: The Survey Corp captured the Miss Fortune Sisters and Rei is Lucas, the protagonist of Hisui / the professor assistant in Sinnoh and he has been in Hisui for over a year.)

(In the Galaxy Hall)

Rei: So again, all your alibis are that a mysterious stranger threw smoke-bombs you three are notorious for using to escape, robbed Beni’s shop, and forced you three to put the same stolen mochi in your pockets.

Charm: When you put it that way it doesn’t sound believable.

Coin: Agreed sister.

Clover: Your just trying to put the blame on us!

(Cyllene walks by)

Rei: Oh hey captain! You’ve seen my new reports on the Pokédex that I left on your desk right?

Cyllene: Yes I’ve already looked it over. Nice job.

Rei: Cool, thanks mom.

(Everyone in the Galaxy Hall quiets down and stares and Rei and Cyllene.)

Rei: …why is everyone staring at me?

Professor Laventon: You just called Captain Cyllene mom. You said ‘thanks mom.’

Rei: What?! No I didn’t. I said thanks ma’am.

Cyllene: Do you see me as a mother figure Rei?

Rei: No! If anything, I see you as a bother figure cause you’re always bothering me.

Kamado: Hey! Show your mother some respect!

Rei: I didn’t call her mom!

Cyllene: No,no. Rei, I take it as a compliment.

Akari: It’s not a big deal . I call the professor ‘dad’ sometimes.

Rei: Guys, jump on that! Akari has a top student complex.

Akari: (???)

Clover: Old news. But you calling the captain mommy-

Rei: Hey, mommy is not on the table!

Coin: You did call her mom.

Rei: You three shut up. You’ve all done nothing but make things worse ever since I’ve met you all over a year ago.

Charm: Yes well, we may have been lying about the mochi, but the mom thing was true.

Rei: Aha! She admitted they lied! It was a trap. All apart of my crazy, devious plan.

Cyllene: I believe you.

Rei: Thank you.

Cyllene: Son.

Rei: (sighs in defeat)

Cyllene: Would you want to talk about it later over some mochi for lunch?

Rei: … (in a lower tone) I’d like that.

I admit a large part of why Volo irks me is because I'm a Miss Fortune Sisters stan and, despite having the same origin stories as the protag post-exile and Coin being stated to be compassionate and empathetic, they had no interactions with the protagonist after their exile.

And I wanted the protag to kind of add them to the found family and realise that the fearmongering was only hurting people, instead of Volo offering them a place to stay completely out of the blue and them accepting like their parents never warned them about Stranger Danger(which. Given the various beds you can sleep in in other games, might be the case but i digress.)

You can really feel the tension between GameFreak and Niantic when the new tie-in with Pokemon Go is a ghoulish Pokemon that manipulates people into giving it coins.

Can you blame them? GameFreak has been doing this forever, then Niantic comes along and obliterates their profits with microtransactions, forces them to rethink their core formula, and probably had a hand in causing Dexit by diverting labor to the new cash cow while the main games had to rush to meet deadlines.

Ghoulish indeed!

Forest Girl With Team Of Leaf Gremlins Beats The Shit Out Of Local Bandits (Faun Plays Pokémon update)

OK OK very quick update of Faun Plays Pokémon but I just beat the Miss Fortune sisters and here's how. (Note: I grit grinded for Vade and got her Speed up and also evolved Sunny but I don't have the screenshot)

With Clover, I sent out Joy first and let her get one shot. The reason being because everytime Joy is out, Abomasnow Strong styles. This gives me the chance to get a hit on Abomasnow twice without suffering anything so I sent out Rose, who recently learnt Venoshock, to K.O Abomasnow.

For Coin, Vade got one shot, which was annoying because I was going to use her to K.O Toxicroak. If memory serves, I sent in Lily and paralysed Toxicroak but after got K.O'd because she didn't listen to me. After, I switch into Lin and got extremely lucky with paralysis and Swift did the job for Toxicroak.

With Charm, I started with Sunny and just spammed the hell out of Absorb until Rhydon was gone. Then it was Gengar. Sunny went down and Rose came out and when I tell you I got lucky, I. Got. Lucky. I paralysed Gengar and took a huge chunk of damage, but was miraculously able to three shot Gengar with Venoshock thanks to paralysis. Thank you Rose, you are an absolute MVP, though it's safe to say this was definitely a team effort! Great job everyone!

Also this cutscene is beautiful and needs to be talked about more.

Anyways I'll probably get my ass handed to me by Arcanine so stay tuned for that 😎👍
