Hot take: Kamado gets treated by the fandom the way Volo should’ve, and Volo gets treated waaaay too kindly than he ever deserves.

There’s evidence that shows Kamado was a genuinely good guy who made one misguided mistake and then tries anything to make up for it, and there’s evidence that Volo’s is a predatory psychopath without any evidence suggesting otherwise.

Sure Volo’s hotter, but pokemon fans genuinely need to stop acting like Kamado kills babies in his spare time and Volo was being quirky and “just having a silly moment lol”.

Kamado had a wife. It’s implied she died due to Pokemon. He lost his entire hometown due to Pokemon. Then when he tries to keep his new town (family) safe from creatures that ruined his life, some kid comes along and acts like his trauma isn’t valid or reasonable. But when he realizes that exiling that child was a bad thing to do, he apologizes, regrets his actions, and tries to do anything to make up for it (and even gives them a plate which is partially a key to going back home).

Volo is, from what we know, a guy with a god complex who had stated he would kill a child for a chance to meet god, let alone attempt to kill it. Not to mention the fact that, if he existed in the modern day, a LOT of his behavior would be seen as predatory since he’s acting this way towards a character who is confirmed to be underage.

So sure, you can hate Kamado and think Volo’s hot, but Kamado is definitely the better person of the two, and I’m tired of people saying how horrible he is when he’s an extremely justified man.

I feel like Ingo's the type to say something insulting to people he doesn't like, but he never allows for an argument to actually build up. He just turns and leaves as soon as he's said what he wanted to say. Like—

Ingo: Your lack of objectivity suggests that you aren't as fit for the role of a leader as you'd like to pretend you are.

Kamado: Excuse me?

Ingo: You're excused. *Pivots and walks away*

I'm not sure if I've ever given anyone the opposite impression through my writing or anything else, but I love how Pokemon characters nowadays are allowed to be more flawed without being outright villainous. I actually liked that Geeta kind of sucked as both a manager and a trainer because that's more interesting than another perfect champion. Kamado banishing us hit harder than any act an evil team boss has ever committed. I love Drayton's manipulative and mean streak. I love Kieran for being terminally fourteen. I love Carmine's arrogance and hot-headedness. I love Cyllene's harshness. I love that Penny was allowed to commit some grand larceny as a treat. I love how many of the characters on this list are female and the fandom loves them no differently than flawed male characters.

I just. Love deeply flawed Pokemon characters.

Happy 1st Anniversary Pokémon Legends Arceus!!

Yes, this is a Gintama reference. The legend. The anime ever.

I just wanted to recreate this particular scene with pokémon characters, but then people got so confused on Twitter (which was kinda the point), I came up with this silly context:

"Knowing Ingo's whereabouts, Emmet makes his way to the past by some unorthodox mean and finds himself in Jubilife Village. There he's escorted to Galaxy headquarters where Kamado is shocked to see "young Ingo" which leads to Emmet asking his whereabouts. Kamado, who's suspicious of these space-time-strangers (if they're actually a threat & if Ingo has been faking his amnesia for some devious cause), personally escorts Emmet to Pearl Clan's settlement in Alabaster Icelands where Ingo was last seen (visiting Irida). The clan members tell he left the village with a funnily dressed merchant just a moment ago. Emmet & Kamado follow their footprints deep into the wilderness until they find Ingo and Volo having a conversation (Emmet remembers seeing timetravelling Volo visiting the station a couple of times just days before Ingo's disappearance). Ingo sees Emmet and is very confused, doesn't realise who he is immediately (suspects him a zoroark illusion) while Volo is surprised to see Emmet there and doesn't want him to ruin his plans. Altercation between them follows which leads to Emmet challenging Volo to a pokémon battle. The fighting gets rough, somehow Kamado ends up KO'd as a collateral damage. Meanwhile Ingo is watching the two duke out and suddenly his memories start rushing back all at once and gets so overwhelmed he collapses and starts sliding down a snowy slope; Emmet & Volo see this and run after him. Volo trips Emmet and reaches Ingo first; then Volo gets this crazy idea for an easy escape and hops on his back. Emmet makes a quick decision to copy him and boards Kamado." And so the race starts! His shouting echoes through the icy wilderness... "BLAST OFF!" "FULL SPEED AHEAD!"

TL;DR: I thought it was funny Had I never played Legends Arceus, I would not be here gushing about these two silly train men with you to no end. I really hope there will be more Legends games, and of course, that they would conclude Ingo's story eventually. There's a lonely blorbo somewhere in the universe who needs his twin brother back! Legends Celebi is very potential in terms of the whole time traveling theme... keeping a sharp eye on the future!

Ok yet another random Pokémon Arceus AU/fic prompt idea where when Akari gets exiled and everyone is pissed that Kamado says can’t help her but Irida gets an idea of a loophole as Wardens families are protected so straight up goes and picks up Akari and when Kamado gets pissed

Irida:Sorry Commander but families of my wardens are protected so Akari can stay with us as Warden Ingo is her father

Akari:…what?

Ingo*Instantly catching on and totally ready to adopt Akari anyway*:Yes she is my daughter

Kamado:...You can’t adopt her after she’s been exiled that is not allowed

Ingo:No she was already my daughter

Kamado :*grasping at straws* Well adoption wouldn’t count as

Irida: *Not giving him any wiggle room* No she’s his biologically

Akari:What?

Kamado: How do you know? I thought you had amnesia

Ingo:*Happily playing along* It got better

Irida: Yep, he just remembered... so unless you want to declare war with Pearl clan over keeping a child of our clan from us then we’ll be taking Akari home

Kamado:....

Irida: Also fuck you

Kamado seeing if he can find loophole but everyone Pearl clan and Diamond clan agreeing and playing along Melli even being like ‘yes the idiot warden has been talking about his child none stop who didn’t know she was his child they’re both as annoying as each other ect ect’

At some point people aren’t sure if they’re playing along or it’s serious but eh who cares she’s his kid that much is obvious.

Just everyone agreeing they’re father and daughter and Akari just chilling with pearl clan. Akari not actual sure if they’re serious or not but fuck it Ingo is basically her dad anyway sooo yeah free dad and not exiled and Kamado is fucking pissed.

Cyllene is loving it he’s so angry and she’s just like ‘oh of course Akari was Warden Ingo’s daughter did I not mention that?’ she thinks he might actually have a stroke he’s getting so pissed and she is ready to take other the galaxy team when that happens.

They show back up in their time and Emmet is just like brother back and free niece awesome

Emmet: Hey Elesa guess what Ingo’s back

Elesa: WHAT EMMET ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Emmet: Indeed, also congratulations you are an aunt

Elesa:....

Elesa:WHAT???
