Ghost gifts a single tiny ear loop to Soap one day. Says he noticed Soap had pierced ears. That rings keep from handling a gun or a knife properly. He doesn't make eye contact, tries to hide his face, even as he's already wearing his balaclava.

Soap blinks. Ghost has already given him gifts and only behaved that way for the very first one. He doesn't understand. The earring is very simple, but seems to be made of expensive material and not only covered with a thin leaf of gold.

"Didnae it come with another one?" he says, jokingly.

But Ghost flushes, turns his head, and lifts his mask, only enough for Soap to see the glinting of the other earring on his ear. Suddenly he understands that it's not simply a gift. Ghost favoured practicality, but he wanted to give him a ring.

He grabs his hand as it falls back down.

"Simon, what is this?" he asks softly, not daring to be hopeful just yet.

With his other hand, he reaches out to gently turn Simon's head back towards him. His cheeks and his nose are flushed, it makes the warmth of his dark eyes, generally hidden behind a sneer or a bored expression, undeniable.

He looks nervous. Johnny's heart is beating faster. Could it really be...?

"I know", Simon starts then pauses, uncertain. "I know I'm probably not what you thought you'd have, when you were younger" Soap wants to interrupt, to scoff, to protest that Simon is way better than anyone he could have hoped for, but doesn't. He never wants to cut off his love when he's barely starting to open up.

"I know that I'm not easy to be with some days, that I'm not friendly and easy going like you, like someone you'd deserved to be with." he continues, unconsciously pushing his face more into Soap's hand. "But... I love you, more than I thought I could, and I'd like... I'd like to be with you, for as long as you'd have me..."

Johnny's heart is soaring. He has no idea how to react. He'd have to get all the giddiness out first, and the moment doesn't seem appropriate for jumping around and squealing.

"Officially," Simon continues, voice quieter, out of breath. "If you want to."

A gigantic grin splits Johnny's face. All of his limbs are buzzing, he needs to stand up, to run, to explode something. But he's terrified to spook Simon so instead he just squeezes the hand he's holding rhythmically and moves his feet back and forth.

"Baby, are ye asking me tae marry ye?" Johnny says. He's pretty sure his voice is wobbly, but can't really hear it himself as the blood in his ears is louder than the rest.

Simon's eyes do something, what is visible of his face looks like he has an expression on but Johnny can't analyze it now, doesn't dare to see the hope in his eyes, the pleading in his brows.

"I... Yes, I guess I am," the love of his life says finally. "If you want to. You don't have to."

Soap can't keep himself in check any longer. He's making a high pitched noise, jumping up and down where he's seating on the bed, and throws himself at Simon.

"Of course ah fooking want tae!!!"

Simon lets out an excited giggle, swept in Johnny's mood, and tightens his arms around his lover. No, his fiancé.

This is the best day of his life. He just has to deal with this mission tomorrow, and then they can start to plan everything.

One thing I’ve been thinking about for the past couple days, but something I’m not the biggest fan of with Kingdom is how the majority of the Cookies of Darkness are played more for jokes than they are for serious. And thus in doing so, the CoD itself doesn’t feel like that much of a threat

Like yeah, I like seeing stuff with the CoD just doing silly stuff, and I don’t need them to be super dark and serious 100% of the time, but like, of the Cookies of Darkness, the only characters that are consistently treated like an actual threat are Dark Enchantress Cookie and Pomegranate Cookie, though even then sometimes she’s part of the gag. And sure, some of the characters in the main story may be treated like a threat, like Red Velvet (despite his one appearance) and Affogato, but then also you’ll have them in a boy band or chilling at the rock festival, totally incognito

And again, it’s not that I don’t enjoy this stuff, but it’s just, how am I supposed to take the Cookies of Darkness as a serious threat when you’re putting them in boy bands and school AUs? Especially when more often than not, it’s the jokey route they use with them?

It’s part of the reason I don’t really see why we need all these Legendaries and Dragons and armies to fight Dark Enchantress, because 80% of the CoD are a bunch of silly little guys. I know realistically DE is powerful and has her Cake Army, hence why they need all that power, but that impression that they’re actually a threat doesn’t typically come to mind for me. But maybe that’s a me thing

And like, honestly I’d say Ovenbreak does it better when it comes to having the CoD seem like a threat. Sure I haven’t seen every event with them involved and I know they only show up like, once in a blue moon, but they usually cause actual problems, and if anything the fact that we see them so little makes them feel more significant, and like Dark Enchantress is more of a looming threat

This is Not CoD related, but infact having to do with the HTTYD live action that's coming out.

More specifically one problem that I'm seeing almost IMMEDIATELY and I hate it so I'm going to talk about it

Ok Before I actually get into it I want to preface with this: Not everyone is going to agree with me, some people might even think I'm incredibly wrong. And that's okay because this is my opinion and you have yours, and I, infact, am not saying that you have to take my opinion as fact

Anyway! SO the HTTYD live action has started filming. There's been talk about it for years, I'll be honest, I never really thought it would happen. Especially not this soon after the third movie.

Whether I'm excited for this film or not is yet to be seen. On one hand I definitely don't believe anything could top the original. And live actions are not always the best remake, especially for animated movies like this one. But on the other hand they DO have Dean Deblois back, and they've kept the original actor for Stoick, so at least we'll recognize one voice. Also I have high hopes for the soundtrack, since John Powell will be back. But again I'm still skeptical about the movie.

What I really wanted to talk about is, I just saw a tiktok talking about the movie (TT user: Straw Hat Goofy), I don't really have much to say about the video itself, it was good informationally. But I wanted to talk about the comments.

So as was stated in the video and confirmed officially, Actress: Nico Parker will be cast to play Astrid. Fine, dandy, lovely, I see no problem. Apparently not everyone thinks this way...

Not the only reason I can see people actually complaining about the casting of Nico parker is (apparently) blatant racism.

Like I understand that the original movies Astid was a blue-eyed, blonde haired girl, but I don't think this slight change should be that big of a deal. If her acting is shit, historically, she wouldn't have been cast. And her appearance (especially something she CANNOT change about herself) WILL NOT make or break the movie.

Let me repeat that

NICO PARKER'S SKIN COLOR WILL NOT MAKE THE MOVIE SHITTY

Guys, this is the same thing that happened/is happening with the Percy Jackson series, people objected to Leah Jeffries being casted as Annabeth. But Leah is a phenomenal actor, and in my opinion, is the perfect actress for the role.

If you really have a problem with Astrid not looking like she did in the animated movies then DON'T WATCH the live action. Simple as that. Ignorance is bliss in this case, so be blissful. It's 2024 people are dying, people are living, and people still can't change the color of their skin (nor should they have to (or want to, especially if it's only to fit society) even if they could)

Oh we're not done, I have a lot to think about disabled!CoD Cast because I live for disability representation, even if I know my last one wasn't so good, this one hits close to home, because my father too has a disabled leg due to a car accident. So who are tackling now? We're talking John Price with a leg prosthetic and crutches.

John felt weak. He felt absolutely useless, worthless, weak and he was in so much pain. He had saved one of his boys, yes, but goddamn did it hurt. His leg was bleeding profusely, he couldn't stand or walk with it and now he was a liability. Better him than Soap, he had convinced himself. It hadn't even been Soap he has saved, or had it? He couldn't quite remember. When the MedEvac arrived, they immediately cut of circulation in his leg, as he cursed and had a thought if where this was going. And he was right.

You were at home when you got a text saying he would be home early, telling you to not pick him up though, he would come home just fine. You hadn't expected anything serious, some new scars, wounds, scabs. Maybe one or two bullet holes, nothing you hadn't seen before, but when the door opened and you saw your husband hobble in with crutches, you stared, mouth agape at his leg. His one leg. You rushed towards him immediately. "John, baby, are you alright?!" Stupid question, of course not, but what else would be your first words? You were shocked. You wanted to know if he was okay with his leg missing

He huffed, making his way towards the couch, slowly and whining you noticed.

He was not okay.

You grabbed him his favourite tea, setting it in front of him before settling next to him in the couch. "Hey, Baby, you wanna talk about it?" He stared at you for a second, gaze hard, before it softened, only to turn cold as he looked away. "Are you in pain? Do you need anything?! Can I-"

"shut up"

His voice cut through yours, it was harsh. He didn't mean it, you knew, but it did hurt. You sat back. Silent. Waiting for him to drink his tea. You were just worried. What else could you do? What could you do to help him? To make him feel at home?

"Are you hungry?" "I can make my own food." "I need to cook anyways, I just wanted to ask if you'd like something special?" "I can cook my own food." "I always make it for you?" He stared at you bitterly. "Don't fucking baby me becaus so lost a goddamn leg. I'm not fucking weak."

It clicked then. "But I never assumed you were?" He fell silent then. Staring at you, then at the cup of tea. "I just want to make sure you're alright, baby. Really. Let me spoil you, you just came home from war."

It took a long time of persuasion to get him to understand you didn't want to baby him, that he wasn't weak because he lost a leg. But he still felt that way, you knew. He just tolerated your help. And then the next hurdle came.

A prosthetic and it's lawsuits.

The military didn't want to cover for the prosthetic you had convinced him to get, so he would feel more alive, being able to use his hands like before, instead of adjusting himself everything he wanted to grab something. Your lawyers assured you, that due to the nature and circumstances and consequences of his injury, the military was meant to cover 100% of medical expenses, especially considering it has gotten infected due to human error after his amputation, which led to the having to redo their surgery - this time in a proper hospital, not on base. That however led to another plethora of issues, the military saying it wasn't them that screwed up, but Price but disobeying instructions form the nurses.

Despite their best efforts, they lost and had to pay 100%, the lawyers and financial compensation due to loss of income. But he wanted to return. He so desperately wanted to go back, aasuem his position as captain again. You knew, even with his prosthetic, he probably wouldn't allowed be back on the front lines, not in his task force. And when the day came where he received an answer, it was just what you had anticipated.

"Considering the severity of your injury, we cannot allow you back on active duty. If you however still wish to serve the United States of America, we offer you your old position, focused on management. While you may not go out with you team, you would still be accepted to-"

He didn't like it. Not one but, and he called Laswell, fruious and screaming, yelling, before he stared at his phone in anger, nearly throwing it at the wall as he realized Laswell wouldn't do anything. He got a different job, but often still had to take breaks, his leg getting infected yet again, his prosthetic hurting his stump, and he struggled with viewing himself as strong as he was before. You didn't know how you could help him. And it broke you. It broke him feeling weak, useless.

You had tried having him lift you up without his crutches, doing the heaviest work in your home, but nothing cheered him up. Price was different. And you doibted he would ever come back to you

FANCAST: Neil Ellice as Midnighter

the next projects that dc has in mind have been announced and one of them is "The authority". In this group of superheroes there is one called Lucas Trent A.K.A Midnighter (no, he's not related to Batman he just has a similar physique) that has a lot of possibilities to appear in this movie or series. I thought that a great choice to play the character is Neil, since besides having a similar appearance and having already worn a mohawk in his Soap Mactavish character, I think Neil could capture Midnighter's personality very well.
