Quick drawing of my Hunchback au where Quasi was never taken from his mother. He gets to grow up in the court of miracles and be an older brother to Esmeralda. Clopin acts like an older brother to them and plays hide and seek a lot.

~Things I would do if I played Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame~
"No, last year, [Frollo] said 'someday.........maybe!'" is played for laughs.
Smiling but very confused during the end of Topsy Turvy, like "oh they like me now, ok, I'm still not really sure what changed in those few seconds-"
Like in a community theatre production I saw, I don't reject Phoebus' help following Quasimodo being attacked.
"Oh no, not me, gargoyle..." is played for laughs like in the Papermill production/boot.
For "But in winter...cold", I actually try to think of something to say before simply settling on "...cold"
I do the "oh I'm gonna fall!" trick more than once during "Top of the World"
Absolutely lovesick during "Heaven's Light"
Straight up BOLTING for the bells at the end of "Emeralda"
Quite confused at the start of "Flight Into Egypt", like "where did Saint Aphrodisius come from???"
My Quasi is the absolute WORST liar. It's a miracle Frollo believes him in the scene following "Flight Into Egypt"-
I do little jazz hands towards the statues when I tell Frollo I'm just talking to "....my friends!" after hiding Phoebus
Starts internally/not so subtly panicking when Frollo puts his lamp on the finger of the statue.
"It's a clue!....she gave me!" is played for laughs like in the Papermill production/boot.
Quasi says "I don't hear anything" (like in the aforementioned community theatre production I saw) rather than Phoebus; played for laughs.
I'm absolutely devastated during "In a Place of Miracles", almost crying.
Angriest "Made of Stone" ever XD
G note at the end of "Made of Stone"
Smiling during the "Made of Stone reprise" in the finale, like I'm saying to the statues "hell yeah let's do this!!"
Brief pause before I reply "Yes, your friend!" to Esmeralda. I'm sad that Esmeralda doesn't romantically like me but then it hits me that being her friend is still the greatest honor.
Barely containing anger when Frollo says he could've loved Esmeralda.
I whisper "yes I do" while the gargoyles whisper "yes you do"
I make it a bit more clear that Quasi killing Frollo was spur of the moment and in a blind rage, so when he says the "There lies all I have ever loved" line, and it works a bit better.
I give Phoebus a hug during the "Out There reprise" in the finale.
More of a directorial thing, but I keep the marks on my face, so I'm deformed along WITH the cast. I saw a comment on a video related to the musical (I forget what video tho-) where the acceptance of Quasimodo in the musical is less of "you're beautiful like us" like in the Disney movie and more of "we're ugly like you". I like that a lot more than what the show does. (everyone is deformed other than Quasimodo)
Either the townsfolk reveal they are deformed in their own ways like in the US productions or a crowd gathers around Quasi and young girl who is deaf like him signs "I love you" to him like in the community theatre production I saw.
🔔✨The end!!!🔔✨

🃏💙 Clopin Trouillefou 💛🃏
Everyone, as a child, had a cartoon character they could call a kindred spirit. I had the gypsy narrator of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The "Jester" and "The Hanged Man" tarot cards, revealing the duality of nature, helped me realize my idea. A little about the drawing: on the sides there were stained glass windows with the iconic symbols of the hero, a framing of the lyrics with the date of the book of the same name, the value of the card when turning to 6 and 9, and a gradient from the morning Fool's Feast to a nighttime incident in the Court of Miracles. The following is more about why I chose these arcana
"The Jester"
He is a messenger of chaos, committing actions that do not obey the general rules of conduct, puts the essence of the game. Inscrutable in its impermanence, whims and fancies. With everyone and no one at the same time, which makes him a crowd favorite. His motley, two-tone clothing suggests he exists on the border between the world of reality and fantasy. Is he aware of his loneliness or does he find it easy to be alone, devoting his life entirely to the service of others? This is one of his bright, attractive and public traits. What about the dark side?
"The Hanged Man"
Finds himself in a state of hovering, torn between male material and female spiritual energies. The craving for creative fulfillment (acting, singing) coupled with concern for the vulnerable segments of society (the leader of the Gypsy clan) does not give free time for spiritual growth, turning him into a victim of circumstances. On the other hand, the desire to be an executioner for outsiders turns into a noose around his neck from real justice. You never know who is ready to come to you with what intentions. Knowing how to trust people should come in handy at least once
To summarize the above, I'm pretty damn attracted to the ambiguity of human beings. After all, to some you are an escape from boredom and trouble, to others you are a thug and a parasite of society. Throwing the soul from the responsibilities of survival to creative fulfillment as a chance to be free.
I am madly happy to take part in a cool project, thanks to it I looked deeper inside myself, finding unexpected answers to questions that have been troubling me for a long time ¡

👀👋 I know it's been ages since I've been here, but I'm popping back in to share the new Notre Dame de Paris/Hunchback of Notre Dame Discord Server!
Discussion and content about all adaptations and characters are welcome. Plus, discussion and content about the historical background, Victor Hugo and the restoration of Notre Dame. There's space to show off your fanworks and original creations, and even space to discuss a large variety of non-NDdP/HoND topics.
The Server is only a few days old, but there's already ~20 very active members and we're planning on organizing some group activities & events shortly (ie. creative works, watch parties, etc).
I'm super excited to grow the fandom. Everyone is welcome!
