Funniest bit of the dnd movie is Xenk clearly being an NPC the DM introduced for lore and plot purposes who’s a competent fighter because of course he is, his reputation and backstory require it. But whoopsies the DM made him too powerful, the whole party likes him, and now they want him to come with to fight the BBEG which will completely and utterly fuck up the encounter balance

So instead of there being any actual plot reason he can’t join Xenk just says “I can’t. This is something only you can do.” And then walks off, never to interact with the party again because the DM just knows those little shits will find a way to use their OP creation against them

#this was mostly a test run on procreate dream! #its pretty good but it has a LOT of room for improvement #which i know the developers have been working on since the app is still technically in beta! #but hey i did this in like 3 weeks while working a full time job and also working on other art so #its pretty damn powerful software #good shit if you use procreate already!! #literally the biggest flaws rn are a lack of selection tool an undo/redo button and #and the app itself has a tendency to crash or slow down if theres “too much” going on #like i had to delete all but one of the preloaded animations just so the app would run smoother while i worked #so its still very clearly in its early phase but its good and im excited to see what the developers will do with it #ok review over #better call saul #saul goodman #bcs #jimmy mcgill #breaking bad #animation #brba #video #procreate dreams

God, I love it when people who clearly have personal experience or expert knowledge on certain things write obscure AUs that incorporate those things so hyperspecifically that I feel like I'm learning something.

I love nurses who write hospital AUs that have accurate medical knowledge just thrown in there because they went to medical school and when people who clearly had a phase where they obsessed over a certain time period write an AU set in that time period or location it's just so fun.

Tell me about the 1950s Chicago culture and history and how the characters are interracial and how that affects their life, I love when the money is accurately converted and the personal histories of the characters are thoughtfully woven to incorporate the new setting they're put in, I love it when people care so much about making something and use their own expertise to aide them.

sorry im still thinking about how everybody in barbie (2023) is called barbie or ken (apart from midge and allen) and while its disappointing that barbie and ken's friends like christie, teresa, brad and steven haven't appeared i understand why they didn't do that. While we don't actually know if they'll still show up in the movie (doesn't seem likely), i think they did this to appeal to everybody not just people who are really into barbie. like most people/people that don't really pay attention to barbie don't know the names of their friends, they just refer to them as "[defining feature] barbie"

also i think its funny that everybody in that world is called barbera and kenneth. but there could still be hope that barbie's friends do show up if they bothered to put a spotlight on midge and allan (but i still think its all just for comedic purposes, because allan is a forgotten character and midge had controversy surrounding one of her dolls. plus midge and allan will probably have something going on in the movie because canonically allan got midge pregnant and you know, midge is pregnant in the movie)

the way critical role are taking so many different storytelling approaches in campaign three and making it SO unique from the other campaigns is just so awesome. the breakneck pace that bells hells are going at, the party split that brought in new allies, going to the freakin’ moon, and bringing in the crown keepers and aabria as GM for an interlude?? it keeps the game so fresh and exciting!!! as a viewer i really never know where they’re going next and it really solidifies the campaign as its own instead of just a sequel to the past ones. i love it !!!!!!!!

i do think with comics sometimes there is a difference you can tell between a writer who genuinely doesn't like the character they're writing vs a writer who likes the character so much they're jumping at the chance to write their own interpretation of the character even if they both kind of feel similar like "this writer doesn't have any respect for the character in question"

Like a video that highlighted specific scenes #No it's just the whole game again but with trivia pop-ups! I love that!! #It reminded me so much of like trivia track or the pop up fun facts from special editions of movies I would watch as a kid #But you can play through them!! You have to click on them and they spin!
